hello, I finally saw that they will bill me for the additional storage in
on you iphone click icloud in settings
then
account and at the very bottom of the page it says my plan will be replaced and the date and the amount.
i will also able to check my payment info so I wouldn't be billed repeatedly after clicking so many times

I am trying to buy more icloud storage with my iphone and I keep getting "an unknown error has occurred"

Just saw the post from makras.
There are always a few problems with a new OS. Apple can't police every maker of crapware that's on the planet.
If you have a WD external drive, I would transfer (not clone) the files from it to another non-WD external drive that doesn't have crapware on it, and then erase the WD drive, and then never ever again buy a WD drive.
You will find many posts on the Apple Discussions from disgruntled narcissists (a few borderlines too) who blame Mavericks for their computer problems.
Mavericks is excellent (at least for me).
Every new OS has some incompatibilities with older software. That's why if someone is an early adopter, they should understand this, and if they have a low tolerance for frustration, or are uncomfortable with basic mac maintenance and troubleshooting, they should not be an early adopter.
Seems like the vast majority of problems that people complain about on the forums are related to crapware they have acquired on their computers from previous installations and promiscuous downloading habits.

I have the same problem. I discovered by using the iCloud control panel on my desktop computer allows me to get around the problem. You might want to explore that option.

Hi, I am trying to buy more iCloud Storage but the storage is not being increased, and there is no error message. My iTunes Balance is not being decreased, and I tried several times. My iTunes Account has a Gift Card and there is no Credit Card entered. Can this be the problem? If so, will it work with non-US Credit Cards?

Yes, as long as you use the credit card that is associated with the same region / country you reside in.

Not on your own. Click here and ask the iTunes Store staff to put it back onto the card; they'll only do this if none of the balance has been spent.

Buying more iCloud Storage does Not increase the Storage Capacity of your Device.
If, for example... yours is a 16 GB ... it will Always be a 16 GB

have you already called Apple and explained your current situation, because I don't see a way to downgrade your storage plan with a Mac only running Snow Leopard and without a iOS device running at least iOS 5.

I was trying to free up icloud storage in order to back up my iphone 5 using my ipad. I mistakenly deleted some photos from my camera roll and they were deleted from both iphone and ipad photo albums. Can I retrieve them somehow or are they gone forever? Now I read that doesn't help to free up space...not sure what does free up space so I can back up my phone again. Help!

You need to setup your own user account on the computer to keep independent iCloud accounts, contacts & calendars. Then sign in to your iCloud account in your user account.

Try this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
