Trying to Export - Quicktime to DPX - in Linear (R709) Color space NOT LOG

Hello,
I am trying to export an image sequence through compressor from a Linear (R709) color space. When I try to do the dpx image sequence output it changes the files to LOG.
Is there a way to pass the material through without any color space changes?
Thank-you,
Carl

FYI, In the Inspector, and filtes, COLOR tab> Output Color Space: Default for Encoder (CAN NOT BE CHANGED - It is greyed out)

  • Trying to export QuickTime but only the first 30 seconds exports

I'm trying to export my 3 minute long project using QuickTime conversion but only the first 30 seconds of the sequence exports. How do I get the full video to export?

If you're trying to export it to WMA or WMV, you need to purchase a version of Flip4Mac which includes that capability. QuickTime cannot create files in those formats without third-party software which provides the necessary engine; even though it appears that QuickTime is doing the conversion, it's not.

  • Newbie CS6 Trying to export Quicktime h.264

I am new at exporting.   When I use the h264 format and it's maximum quality it's a 55 MB file.
When I use the customized Quicktime and then h264, my file is only maxed at 8MB.
I'm trying to figure out how to maximize the size of this :30 commercial for air.
All help is great appreciated.   Thanks in advance.

    Yes.  Quicktime, at h264.
I was able to manage 89MB file using all of the best quality improvement enhancements I could figure out.
They tell me though their typicall :30 commercial at quicktime h264 is usually about 250MB

  • When trying to export data from a program we use, it does not automatically recognize the file format as .xml. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this problem?

I have tried to uninstall verion 3.6 and reinstall. Also, I re-imaged the workstation, but it still does not work. The OS is Windows 7 32-bit. This same process works automatically on an XP workstation. In fact, the machine I re-imaged was an XP box, but it did not work on this particular machine. Hence, the reason for the new image.

I am exporting the file from TxEIS (in the Firefox web browser) and it does not download properly. Acccording to Firefox documentation, it is supposed to automatically recognize the file extension. I have not experienced this on any other machine within our environment. Other users are performing this same process with no problems. The browers settings are exactly the same as the machines that are working right.

  • Export Quicktime with Audio - timings to advance slides  -does not work

    Mac OS 10.6.1
    iMac 27" 4 GB 1067 MHZ
    Keynote 09 - 5.03
    I opened a .ppt
I added an windows media file after getting it into GarageBand - so a GarageBand file actually
I timed the slides - this does not work either as a side remark - you can not just enter seconds there - they disappear - you need to use the arrows
If I test the slideshow, it runs nice in Keynote.
If I export it to Quicktime, the sound works, the slides do not advance.
(I think I had it once working before I moved my files to my new Mac)
    Help please
    nico

I'm just posting this as a general discovery....
I too have had many many frustrations with creating a slide show with audio clips linked to individual slides and a soundtrack music background. Of course this records fine and plays back fine in KN. The problem lies in any form of sharing/exporting. The audio either disappears or the timing goes nutty.
What I discovered was....During a manual recording in which I advance the slides and the builds within the slides, the tap of the space bar directly correlates to when the audio would stop in the exported version. ie. Slide one, audio set to start automatically after transistion, text has no builds, Slide 2, audio set to start automatically, text builds with each bullet. In the exported version the second I hit the space bar to create the first build during the recording, is where the audio is cut off in the exported version.
Therefore, if I go through each and every slide and set the timing for each and every build, transition, etc. , then record the slideshow so that I never have to hit the space bar to create builds (transitions to next slide seems to be fine) my exported recording seems to play back without problems. This is very tedious but seems to work (so far).
I hope I have explained my findings clearly. I also hope that this is somewhat helpful to the rest of the world

    Hi,
I have a document (brochure) that i have created in indesign cs5. I wanted to make it interactive, only in that you can turn the pages as you are viewing it online. So I have done this and added the page transitions, but when I go to export it, it doesn't give me the option of a SWF file...
Im not sure why this is or what im doing wrong here!?
Any help on this much appreciated!
Or perhaps a link to a post that already explains this, I cant find any info on it though.
    Thanks!

Here is an example of what I am trying to create... this brochure shows only the front cover as a single page, same with the back cover...

my document is adding a extra white page next to the front and back cover changing them into spreads...

I have read an srticle which says you cant do anything about this... but then how has it been achieved in the example I have found online above?!

  • Trouble exporting Quicktimes from Avid Express Pro?

Hello! I'm operating Avid Express Pro version 4.3.0 on a G5 Mac OS 10.3.9 and I recently upgraded to QuickTime 7.1.5. I can no longer export quicktimes from Avid Express Pro because it is not compatible with this version of Quicktime. It's only compatible with QT 6.5.2. I've tried to use the reinstaller 6.5.2 and it doesn't work as it cannot seem to find 6.5.2 on my system. I now can't load 6.5.2 as I already have a higher version of quicktime on my system. I've tried deleting QuickTime files and starting from scratch and did delete a few items, but dragged the majority back into my computer from the trash as I realized I didn't know what I was doing and which 3rd party programs also utilized QuickTime.
If I wish to reinstall QuickTime 6.5.2 but the reinstaller won't work, what would you recommend?
    HUGE thanks!

  • Export Quicktime from a DVC Pro HD 720p60 Project

I've read the discussions and am still looking for some solid answers on this and /or confirmation that I've done it correctly.
I'm working in a DVC Pro HD 720p60 project
Sequence setting frame size is 960x720
(no I don't know what it was shot on)
The cuts are :30 spots and I'm looking to do 2 things for my producer.
    1) export the spots so that he can compress them as desired for his reel on his website, for which I've done the following:
    File - Export - Quicktime Conversion - Settings, H.264, size 1920x1080
Is this the best way to do this?
    2) export the spots so that he can add them to his reel when he wants to on dvd, for which I've done the following:
I created a new DV50 project and cut the spots into them.
File - Export - Quicktime Movie - Current Settings
    I also tried:
    File - Export - Quicktime Conversion - Settings, H.264
The strange thing was that the H.264 on this looked better than the quicktime movie.
    Any thoughts? Much appreciated!

Well, if you need to get it to the web guy to compress as he sees fit, then you will need to provide him with...well, what he wants. You need to ask him (her) what they want you to give to them.
And the dimensions would be 1280x720. 960x720 is squeezed anamorphically. and going to 1920x1080 is makig it bigger than the original.
As for the H.264 for DVD. Compressing it like that, then compressing again for DVD...icky. It looks better? Well then, maybe it darkened or brightened the footage as it compressed it. You might consider color correcting your main footage if you like that look.
And you weren't in a DV or DVCPRO 50 project, you were in a DVCPRO HD project. Why cut it in a one of those settings? it won't look any better, in fact, it will look worse. And compressing it for DVD ro the web wouldn't be any easier. Sorry, I guess I don't understand your reasoning here.
DV 50 isn't what it was shot nor edited at. It is DVCPRO HD...DVCPRO 100. Export self contained using sequence settings and it is EXACTLY the same quality as the original footage in the timeline.

  • Photoshop not seeing export color space setting in Lightroom 4

MY LR or PS programs are not acting as expected.
When my Lightroom 4 is set to export to Photoshop in either the sRGB color space or the AdobeRGB color space, and Photoshop is set for the sRGB space, Photoshop gives a color mismatch error in both cases, saying the image is an AdobeRGB embedded image.  However, if the color space in PS is set for AdobeRGB, even if the export setting in Lightroom is sRGB, there is no mismatch error.
Apparently, PS sees every image as embedded with AdobeRGB.
I have a Sony NEX6 camera.  I have taken pictures in the camera sRGB color space and the AdobeRGB space, which I used for this test. Since I shoot in RAW, this should not matter, so I don’t think it is the issue, and, in fact, I get the same result no matter which color space the camera is in.
If LR export and PS color space are the same, why should there be a mismatch, and why is PS not seeing the sRGB space?  Might there be a setting in Lightroom or Photoshop that I am missing?

I am, however, trying to decide on the right color space to use, which is how I noticed this problem. I rarely make prints of my photos.  I make bluray movies using Proshow Producer.  I recently got a new monitor and Samsung LED HDTV, and found that my photo videos did not display right and I am trying to find out why.  I found the normal viewing settings of the TV have too much color and sharpness, so I established another group of settings for photos, which helped.  However, I am still not satisfied.
These are two separate but related issues.
    1) It's almost impossible to get accurate Color and Luminance level rendering inside LR if you don't use a hardware monitor calibrator to adjust your computer monitor.
    2) LCD TV's use settings to "enhance" color, brightness, and contrast that is usually very, very inacuuarte. But this is what most non-photography people seem to like so TV manufacturers crank up the "default settings." I also have an older 52" Samsung TV (LN-T5265F) that I've manually adjusted for more accurate color. Try using the 'Movie' mode, which is the most accurate mode and turn the Backlight setting down. Here are the settings I use with my Samsung TV. I assume your Samsung TV's controls are similar:

So it occurred to me that some colors might be wrong, or too saturated, because I am not seeing them on my monitor as they will appear on the HDTV.  I am thinking that since sRGB is my final color space, I would try to do everything in the sRGB space, including setting my monitor to sRGB (I have a Dell 2413 which supports adobeRGB too).  I was inn the process of trying this when I found the issue at hand.  Might you have any thoughts about this color space choice
If you have a wide-gamut monitor you are better off using it in Adobe RGB mode with a monitor calibrator. But then the monitor will not look correct in non-color managed applications:
    http://www.gballard.net/photoshop/srgb_wide_gamut.html
You can circumvent this issue by using your monitor in sRGB mode, but I'd still suggest you use a hardware monitor calibrator. Either way it is imortatnt that you have a proper monitor profile assigned in Windows or OS X Color Management. The monitor manufacturer provides these, but they don't always work well with LR for numerous reasons.
To insure the best image quality you should do all of your editing in PS using 16 bit TIFF with ProPhoto RGB profile format until you are ready to Export. For use with ProShow you can use TIFFs or JPEGs, but use sRGB color profile to avoid any color management issue. JPEGs are fine and a LR Quality higher than 80 (10 in PS) is a waste of disk space for slideshow images.
In short you've got a lot of "variables" between the uncalibrated monitor and out-of-the-box non-adjusted TV. The former requires a good hardware calibrator aad the latter a good "eye" to adjust it.

  • Media Encoder CC2014.2 crash on windows when trying to export when quicktime is installed

    Hi,
I'm trying to export .mov files (created on random Mac computers in very hi-res) to reduce file size, and have the same output format. (possibly 1080p H.264-> .mp4)
I installed Media Encoder cc2014.2 on my pc (win7, 64bits, french).
When I first tested, Only the audio was being exported. But I soon realized I didn't had the proper codec installed on my PC.
(I wasn't able to play the original video file, only the audio was playing).
So, like a good boy I installed Apple Quicktime (7.76.80.95)
With quicktime on my PC I was able to play the original video file. (with quicktime player)
So I opened Media Encoder again, and on the preview this time I can see the video with the sound. But as soon as I start the coding (the little green arrow) Adobe Media Encoder crash.
I have tried multiple output format, it always crash right when I start exporting the file.
I uninstalled Quicktime, and media encoder is working again ... but my original files (.mov) can't be exported with video, only the sound.
I have tried a third party codec (K-Lite), I can see the video+sound on my pc, but Media Encoder is still blind, no video, only the sound.
Is there a way to add codec to Media encoder without having to install Quicktime?
Or a way to make Media Encoder work on my PC when Quicktime is installed?
btw I'm sorry if my text is a bit confusing, I'm french speaking
    Thank's in advance!

    The Error is back!!!
Yesterday it worked today it crashes when I export from premiere via media encoder. I tried it with all the things you told me:
    1. Bars+Tone => export => crash
    2. Video Project with 2 short h264-files => export => crash
    3. Software only renderer => crash
These are the two logs that I found:

  • Quicktime Pro exports white screen when trying to export to iPod or DV

I'm recording video on a "Flip" video camcorder which plays back great in Quicktime but when I try to convert the files to either DV so I can edit them in iMovie, or convert them so I can watch them on my iPod, I end up with sound but no picture, just a white screen. I've tried some other QT video from other sources and have the same results so I'm guessing that it is not the camera. I thought it might be my settings to I tried other "Export To" settings but I always end up with a white screen. Any suggestions?

    Hi there,
I am trying to export a movie from QuickTime Pro to an an AVI file. It goes through the process as if everything has worked, but when I open the finished file, all I get is a white screen with no audio or picture.
I need to save lectures from school from the school website to my computer so that I can watch them when I do not have internet access. I need some way to get the files to my computer. Any suggestions?

AVI is just a container ... specifically, which codec are you using when exporting? And why export to AVI?

That usually means that your system doesn't have the codec installed needed to view the video, but your web browser is using a plugin that does. What format are the web videos? Flash?

I have just updated Quicktime pro to version 7.6.6 and I am trying to export a .m4v to .mov to bring into FCP. I have done this a thousand times in the past with no problem. Now, however, when I click on File>Export>Options>Settings...the program freezes until I am forced to force quit. I have done this 7 times in a row with the same result. I have version 7.6.4 on my laptop and everything is working just fine. Anyone else having this issue...should I try to revert to my old QT (and how could I)? Any insight would be great.
