Trying to make a custom shape

I'm attempting to create an object out of a square but I need to change the dimensions of all 4 sides, is it possible to manually input the dimensions of each side? 4 by 6 1/2 by 7 3/4 by 6

If Photoshop is your only Adobe product like me. Its not the best tool for something like what you want to create.  To do what you want I would open a new Document or your jpeg. The Jpeg I would use the perspective crop tool to crop the EPS Design to square it up some. Then transform that to the correct aspect ratio you want.  I would then add text layers to on it to get as close as I could to the three line using a font that matches the logo.  I would then make shape layers for the three text layer and merge then into a single shape.  I would then edit the shapes path to make it closer to your image design. Then define a custom shape named EPS.

  • How do I make a custom shape using Javascript?

    I would like to create a trapezoid shape and be able to color it in, just like I'm able to do with the PathItems (e.g. rectangle, ellipse). I would like to be able to do this in Javascript.
    I was thinking it might have to do with PathPoints, but Adobe's Scripting Reference Guide does not make it clear.
    If anyone could give me some quick sample code on how to do this, I'd be much appreciative. Or just a description would be great.
    THANK YOU VERY MUCH

    Something like this?
    // TrapezPathCreate.jsx
    // http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1307731
    // regards pixxxelschubser
    var aDoc = app.activeDocument;
    var aPath = aDoc.pathItems.add();
    aPath.name = "Trapez";
    // create pairs of coordinates for every anchor point
    aPath.setEntirePath(Array([0,0],[50,100],[200,100],[400,0],[0,0]));
    aPath.close = true;
    aPath.filled= true;
    aPath.stroked= false;
    var itemColor = new CMYKColor();
    itemColor.cyan = 0;
    itemColor.magenta = 100;
    itemColor.yellow = 100;
    itemColor.black = 0;
    aPath.fillColor = itemColor;
    alert("done");
    or this?
    var aDoc = app.activeDocument;
    var Rect = aDoc.pathItems.rectangle(0, 0, 400, 400, false);
    Rect.stroked = true;
    Rect.filled = false;
    alert("Rectangle created");
    Have fun

  • I'm trying to make a custom ringtone...

    but when I try to save it, it says "The required file cannot be found." because an "error" occured? Could somebody please tell me what is wrong and what do I do to fix it?

    It's not supposed to give you that option. I usually drag the files to my desktop and change the extention to .m4r and then drag in back to "LIBRARY" in iTunes.

  • No custom shape tool color option

    Hi,
    I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS5 and I'm trying to use the custom shape tool to make a black music note.  However when I make the music note, it has no color to it.  I cannot find a color option for the custom shape tool anywhere.
    Where is the option that would change the color so the note is black?
    Thanks.

    Look at the three options in the options bar!

  • Why do I get an error when creating a custom shape

    I have a student version of Photoshop CC  and it seemed to be working just fine until I had to create a custom shape. When I try and create a custom shape I receive the following error.
    Did something go wrong during installation or am I missing an addon??

    Before you draw the shape with the Pen Tool set to Paths, ensure that you have the Path Operations set to either Combine or Exclude
    Looks like yours is set to Subtract, which will produce a program error when trying to define a custom shape.

  • How to make a custom control or dial rotate properly

    I am trying to make a custom dial by replacing the needle with a picture of a human leg. However, when I try importing the picture into the Customize mode the leg rotates, but it is always pointing up-down. I want to make it so the toes of the leg move to each tick mark and knee is at the pivot point. How can I change this? Thanks!

    What LV does now it does rather well.
    Over the years I have only heard a cry for this feature a handful of times so it appears the demand for this feature is quite limited.
    NI put their resource where it will do the most good. If the was an out cry for this feature (That I want by the way) Ni would concider it.
    I had a detailed discusion with R&D over this issue. I do not remembe the detaitls so I don't think I will reveal any secrets but here goes...
    Most graphics in LV are represented using a method that deals with them as a rectangle with a top left and bottom right corner. the Needles etc are special little critters that use anoth represntation that goes back to features originally exposed for old MACs. AS long as the image used to rreplace the needle is of the proper type LV can rotate it. Example is the "Arrow" decorations. THese are in the propber form and can be used to replace the needle.
    I explored what it would take to expose the ability to create those special widget myself end with R&D walking away shaking thier heads and I got the impression I should not hold my breath.
    So that is waht I know about the "why" behind why we are limited in rotating images.
    But as mentioned above there are multiple work-arounds available so use one of those and if you really want the rotating image stuff, submit a suggestion.

  • Please help! i need to make multiple custom shaped frames for different videos in one scene and cant work out how!

    hi there!
    im really stuck on this and cant work it out i hope you guys can help! i have been trying to make a single shot or scene whatever you want to call it with multiple videos playing all at the same time in it but i want them all to have their own custom shape. i know that i can just put them together into one frame and play them at once but they are all the original rectangle shape they where filmed in and i could put a mask over each one to make it a circle but i want to make each one a custom shape for example if you where to make a face out of 4 videos and one was the shape of the main part of the face one was the eyes one for the hair and one for the mouth now i would have to make the shape of each video the right shape for the corresponding body part then place them on top of each other and then i would have a face made from looping videos. i cannot work out how to make the frames of each video a custom shape after searching tutorials please can someone help me with this it would be greatly appreciated as it is a collage project. thanks very much for your time in the matter Josh.

  • How do you make a custom button that is Invisible When not selected

    Im just recently switching over to using a mac for authoring. I really like all the features in DVD Studio more than what i was using on a PC for the past 6 years. Which was ulead DVD Workshop 2.
    The only problem im having (For Now) is that i cant make my custom buttons invisible. I made this little black shape thing in photoshop and i want to use it in DVDSP for selecting different tracks.
    I thought all i had to do was just save the black shape with a transparent background in photoshop as a .psd and import it. But that didnt work.
    When i change episodes it just stays black the whole time. I want something that will be invisible when it is not selected.
    please help
    I can send someone my little shape if they can make it a usable button that i can make invisible in dvdsp. I really need to see the layers done with a shape as a button to see how they were able to make it invisible.
    i tried a few tutorials but instead of being invisible all i got was a shape that was stuck white the whole time. this is even when i put the opacity to 0 on normal.
    I want to make this into a button
    http://img694.imageshack.us/i/custonbutton.png/

    Ok, what you want to do is also in the same tutorial. See the section on "Advanced Highlights" (again, avoid the sections on layered menus), You can create an overlay that does have two colors. The bad news is that there will be absolutely no anti-aliasing at all. This means your graphic will be extremely pixelated. This is just the way the DVD specs are set up, so there is no way around it.
    Given that I would highly recommend redesigning your overlay. Take a look at variety of DVDs from Hollywood. See what they are doing in their menus. You can do anything they are doing, but you will notice that the overlay is very simple because of the limited anti-aliasing of DVDs. In all the years that I've been watching DVDs I've only see one DVD use two colors in the overlay, and that was the Jim Carey "The Grinch who Stole Christmas."

  • Define Custom Shape Option is Greyed out

    I'd appreciate any help that could be provided, I have not been able to define custom shapes in CS6. I'm using the pen tool in shape mode, I've used the path selection tool and switched between the path operations. I've made sure that the shape is selected in the paths work bar. Nothing seems to open up the define custom shape option. Is there a setting I'm neglecting to check? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

    I just tried deleting first just the tool preferences, and then all the photoshop preferences. There has been no change...Still unable to get define custom shape as an option.
    I've also tried using the path option instead of the shape selection and that also makes no difference.
    Just as a note I have used the same steps on another computer running CS6 and it functions 100% properly.
