TS4268 I have done all of the above and nothing is working. How do I get this imessager to work. Now having to re load my phone!

I bought an i phone 5 a month ago as my children are in school in the UK and I want to be in touch on imessage and face time. I can not get the imessage to work I have re set the phone a number of time and all I get is " waitting for activation" well a month later I am still not activated! what is going on???

did you restore the phone in itunes and set it up as a new phone?

    I have tried to follow the steps and everything the HELP steps say to do is completed. Yet the slide "on" switches on both the iPad and iPod will not stay in the on position.     I have tried all the steps in the users guide except the restore as new. The reason I have not taken the time to do this two new devices do not work. When I got the iPod back in December, it did not work. I was taking an international trip and wanted to see some book samples and could not. I have been busy since the trip and haven't taken time to try to trouble shoot. Now my company gave me a iPad for being a very long term employee and it does the same thing. That is why I spent hours reading the FAQs, etc, trying to make the switches stay on. That is why I do not think it worth the time to reset as new.. Being a computer tech, It appears to me that the problem lies in the iTunes program on my desktop, rather than both new IOS devices.

    ok well like lllaass said, most apps require 4.3 or later iOS software. chances are since the apps worked before, the apps themselves got updated and will no longer work with your software version.

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

    Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

  • TS1398 I have tried all of the above and am still unable to connect to my home broadband, the pc is fine and so was the itouch up until yesterday, any help would be gratefully received.

    Yesterday my wifi would not work on my itouch, it has been fine since purchasing.  Today I have tried everything mentioned by supporters including restoring the itouch, but just get the message "unable to join the network". Anyone have any more tips?

    Are you positive you are entering in the correct password?  Have you tried rebooting the router by unplugging it from power for about 30 seconds or so?
    What happens if you head to Settings -> General -> Reset, tap Reset Network Settings, and then try to reconnect to your home Wi-Fi network.

    I've tried a lot of the stuff mentioned at that link and elsewhere, modifying host files etc. trying to downgrade my iPhone 4 back to 5.1.1 no luck , apple has locked up 5.1.1 for my phone and iPad . one post said I'm "stuck with iOS 6" darn I should have been more careful. I have the 5.1.1 Ispw on my MacBook its a permissions thing I don't understand. I'll post when I find a way around it and I will . iOS 6 took away most of my AirPlay functionality . to hek with iPhone 5 I'm starting to look at android. big bummer apple

  • Stuck at "accessing itunes store" have tried all suggestions so far and nothing has worked..

    when i open itunes i am infinetly stuck at "accessing itunes store" during which it will not allow me to authorize my computer, sign in, etc. . So far i have tried restarting my computer, cmd command, re-install, unistall qucik time player/safari, reset router. i am not sure what else there is to do for this problem. none of the other threads have helped me at all. what else is there to do to fix this?

    Go to command Prompt -
    (Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
    In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
    If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
    Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

    The iPhone charger doesn't put out enough power to charge the iPad. Use the iPad charger. You can use the iPad charger on the iPhone & it will charger the iPhone faster.
    The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.

  • After updating my iphone 3G to ios 6, I have lost all of my contacts and my picture. How do I get them back and where do I find them? I cannot locate them on my daughters pc and I have no idea where they are. I chose backup to cloud when I did the update.

    I have not updated my iPhone 3G since 2010 as I do not have a computer and have to use my daughters pc. She plugged in my phone to update through iTunes (which took all night) and in the morning it was completed. We backedup to the icloud but now mu pictures and contacts are missing. We cannot locate my contacts on icloud or on the phone.
    How do I locate my missing contacts and put them back ON MY PHONE. I had over 150 contacts with information like phone numbers, birthdays, and anniversaries.
    Do I need to restore the phone? Are they on the cloud?????

I followed the Mozilla help info and deleted the profile locked. parent(?). I use Windows 7 Ultimate.

    hello sdandccids, unfortunately this babylon software is hooking-in deeply into the system. especially the component browsemngr.exe (+dll) is known to crash firefox and possibly might also cause the issue you're experiencing.
    please go into the windows control panel > programs section and sort the software according to installation date & then remove all entries that got installed at the same date as the babylon toolbar and you're not familiar with ([https://support.mozilla.org/questions/935739#answer-367152 according to babylon] this might be "Browser Manager" + "Bprotector" + "Object Installer" + "Babylon Toolbar on IE").
    in case this doesn't work or there are no such entries showing up, please hit ctrl+shift+esc and search if there is a file named browsemngr.exe showing up as running in the list of processes - if so here are instructions for a manual removal (unfortunately quite technical): www.explosiveknowledge.net/main/2012/08/19/browsemngr/
    otherwise you can also try a "clean uninstall". uninstall firefox from the windows control panel & chose to remove all personal data. afterwards manually check if the firefox program folder got deleted (it's usually in ''C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox'') and else remove it manually. then download & install a fresh copy at getfirefox.com
    i'd furthermore recommend doing a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and/or a different tool like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] since this firefox start-error can also be a sign of other [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware|malware]] active on the pc.
