Turning off case-sensitive mode in a cluster?

I just set up a cluster and installed a web application that was running on a non-clustered
machine. When I started to run the application I noticed file references to JSPs
were case sensitive. The setting during deployment of the web application to ignore
case does not seem to work in a clustered environment. Does anybody know how to
turn this off in a cluster?

I am using weblogic 6.1 on windows 2000. When the web application is running in
a non cluster environment, it runs in the case-insensitive mode. The toggle switch
in the admin console allows the mode to change to case-sensitive.
How ever, when I deploy the web app into a cluster, it always runs in case-sensitive
mode. The setting in the admin console for the web app is ignored. How can I run
the web app in a cluster in case-insensitive mode?
Any thoughts?

Hi Rich
Filenames are case-sensitive only on UNIX, and not case-sensitive on
Win/NT.
In WLS5.1 exists a property for the case sensitivity of the jsp' extension
files.
weblogic.httpd.servlet.extensionCaseSensitive
In WLS6.1, you can configure the same property in the console (configuration/files
tab of the
webApp).
Hope this help.

  • Turn off case sensitivity in filesystem

    Hi everyone,
I've been a long time UNIX user so upon installing Tiger from fresh (new harddrive) I was pleased to see case sensitivity is now fully supported in HFS+
However, lots of random programs now cease to work... although I'd like to have the pure UNIX case sensitivity, I'd really prefer for all my Applications to work. Is there a way to turn off the case sensitivity on the fly? I don't want to reformat the drive.

I believe you must reformat the drive to return to a non-case sensitive system. Apple's normal recommendation is to create to volumes - one case sensitive and the other not. Install OS X on the non-case sensitive volume.
Of course doing this requires re-partitioning. Both repartitioning and reformatting are destructive processes. As far as I'm aware you cannot simply turn case-sensitivity off (at least not for the filesystem.)

  • Turn off case sensitive for whole system

    Hello,
I am looking for the feasibility to turn off the case sensitive functionality for the whole system. Is it ever possible?
    Thank you in advance.

Dmitri, at this time it is not possible to turn off the case sensitive functionality. I would recommend that you submit a enhancement request to CRM On Demand customer care.

  • Every time I start iTunes I get the message: "iTunes exec has been set to run in compatability mode for an older version of Windows. Turn off compatability mode for iTunes before you open it." How do I turn off the compatability mode?

Every time I start iTunes I get the message: "iTunes exec has been set to run in compatability mode for an older version of Windows. Turn off compatability mode for iTunes before you open it." How do I turn off the compatability mode? Particularly when I have to do it before I turn on iTunes.

Try the following document, only be sure that none of the boxes in the compatibility mode tab are checked (not just the compatibility mode box itself):
iTunes for Windows: How to turn off Compatibility Mode

  • As a follow up from my recent question, I turned off the compatibility mode under all and regular, clicked out ok, ok then then went to itunes and played a song as they said to, and then tried to open the store and STILL CANNOT OPEN STORE, please Help!!!

Turning off the compatibility mode by deselecting the check box under each thing that it wants did nothing for my access to the itunes store, still a white page with "itunes store" in the middle of it.  This is getting rediculous! Someone with computer smarts please help, I am at the end of my rope!

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • Is the only way to import large amount of data and database objects into a primary database is to shutdown the standby, turn off archive log mode, do the import, then rebuild the standby?

I have a primary database that need to import large amount of data and database objects. 1.) Do I shutdown the standby? 2.) Turn off archive log mode? 3.) Perform the import? 4.) Rebuild the standby? or is there a better way or best practice?

Instead of rebuilding the (whole) standby, you take an incremental (from SCN) backup from the Primary and restore it on the Standby.  That way, if, for example
    a. Only two out of 12 tablespaces are affected by the import, the incremental backup would effectively be only the blocks changed in those two tablespaces (and some other changes in system and undo) {provided that there are no other changes in the other ten tablespaces}
    b. if the size of the import is only 15% of the database, the incremental backup to restore to the standby is small

  • How do I turn off the compatibility mode for ITunes.

I have turned off the compatibility mode for Itues off so there is no tick in the box and yet, even after removing Itunes completely from the PC and reinstalling it, it automatically sets to run in an older version even if the compatibility button has not been ticked...!!!!
Can anyone suggest why this happens and how can i change it?

There were no boxes checked in the Compatibility mode tab for either iTunes.exe or QuickTimePlayer.exe and I was still having the issue. RandomBehavior's post was the solution. I’m not real computer savvy so it took me a while to figure out the process. Below is the solution for dummies. It did not require a restart but, I did one and everything was great. No more compatibility popup. :o)

  • Power supply vs. logic board?  turns off in sleep mode.

My imac g5 (2004 - 1st generation?) is either turning completely off or going into some un-wake-up-able mode after it's put to sleep. (I have to switch off/on the power strip and turn the computer on all over again.) And sometimes if it's sleeping (power light pulsing on front) it may or may not wake from sleep by pushing the power button. Often touching a key in that circumstance will cause it to crash, so I've quit using that altogether as a method of waking it up. I've reset the SMU a number of times throughout the past few months and it has not cleared up this problem.
Last night after I put it to sleep it switched in to the un-wake-up-able mode. I could still hear something running (not a fan, just an electrical hum) where it seems like it's crashed and can't shut itself off. I had to turn off the power and try to turn the computer back on. It wouldn't respond the first couple times. Then the power light glowed for a while but it still didn't turn on completely. After a few more minutes I tried again. Maybe I held the power button for too long, but I heard a long single beep, the fans whirred, and then everything started up as usual.
I've read a number of threads seemingly related to these issues, but am now not clear about whether this is a power supply issue or a logic board issue. I have yet to open the back and check for bulging capacitors. Just thought I'd ask here first.

I am having a very close issue too (posted also in a more recent thread about power button not functioning). My old iMac G5 20 inches got a power supply that went bad two years ago. I had it replaced and all went fine until two weeks ago.
My wife was using it, while I was away: machine shut down with a 'pop!' sound.
She tried to start it up again, but after pressing the button a couple of times - the last one longer - she had a long strong peep. The machine went on for a while and then off again. Scared, she left it off.
After checking, no reported issue seems to fit to the problems shown: power supply is working; logic board too. The machine is working fine, but on sleep, it dies out. While doing tasks, at undetermined times, it shuts down with a 'pop!'. Sometimes you can restart it immediately. Sometimes you can't and have to wait one or more hours. No evidently bad caps on board, led check returns 1 (no 2 flashing or attempting to turn on) with dead computer, otherwise all working fine. Hardware test also passed. Console messages have nothing relevant or clearly understandable to offer.
Still can't figure out a solution. Many user are pretty fast in suggesting to bringing the machine to Apple. Unfortunately not all around the world we have/need cars. And getting the 20 kg of iMac by feet/metro to the shop it ain't such a nice walk. When I fried the power supply, there was no sufficiently large box on sale to pack the computer and have it send to the shop. I had to wait for the technician - on a convenient day - do drop by and take it (and he knew he was going to repair it)!
Will post, if I have further developments.

  • Turning off closed lid mode

I was wondering if there was a way to turn off the closed lid mode feature. It's the feature that allows you to use your MacBook even when the display is closed by hooking it up to an external monitor, keyboard and mouse. The problem I'm having is that when I close my MacBook to go into sleep mode, I leave my wireless mouse dongle plugged in, when my mouse gets a slight bump the computer awakes from sleep mode and goes into closed lid mode, it's really really annoying. Help please!

    Hello everebody,
When I leave my X500-11G (Windows 7 64bit) in turning on condition and no one process is working computer is turning off incorectly in stead of go to sleeping mode. After that X500 don't responce for keyboard and mouse and I have to push power button for continue. X500 is turning on but BIOS informs about incorrect turning off Windows and propose different ways of restart Windows: normal start or safety modes.
Is this problerm famous and how to fix it?
    Thank you,
    iPal

    Hi buddy,
To be honest I also dont know why it happens but theoretically this problem could be caused by software... Are you using preinstalled Windows version or have you installed your own Windows version?
Furthermore I would recommend loading the default settings in BIOS. Therefore press F9 key in BIOS setup.
Have also a look in Windows Event Viewer. Usually you can find a log file about all errors and maybe you can find an interesting information about this problem.
