Two SAP systems in the same host "no files processing"

Hello!
I have two SAP Systems installed on the same host.
If I execute redo logs archiving from DB13 I get the error "no files processing", because of I already executed redo logs for the other SAP system on the same host.

  • Two SRM system in the same Portal

    Dear Guru,
we need your support for the following question.
I'm working with SRM 7 and ECC in a extended classic scenario. SRM is available thorugh the portal. For training activity we need to have another copy of SRM and ECC system. It is possible to connect in the same time two SRM system in the unique portal?
    Thanks a lot.
    Best Regards
    Giuseppe

    Hello Giuseppe,
As per the standard , there is no possibility to work on twins SRM system at the same time on Portal. And as Ivy Li mentioned  that all SRM IViews have system alias as SAP_SRM which points to 1 system at a time  . Now as per your saying twins  SRM system with unique portal which will also create a problem as most of the time the portal navigation would be locked. Now again while uploading the WDA package for SRM portal your data's might get effect if you are showing your actual data in your training session. If you find then there could be many reasons.

  • Solman config when two SAP instances are on same host

    Hello everyone,
I am facing with a typical issue and need your help badly.
I have development and quality servers running on one host.I have configured quality server with the solman system. Now when i try to configure my development server in SMSY,after creating the server, database and when trying to create system,it says that the system already exists.
Please help me with the configuration.I am really in soup.
    Regards
    Praveen Gupta

Have you configured any system with the same <SID> before( expand it and doube check ) ? If not you shouldn't be getting this error when creating a system. In your case you dont have to add the server as its already created when you configured your QA system.Add Databse and create new system.
    Thanks

  • SLD: Pointing two business systems to the same client...

    Hi Guys,
Is there anyway to make two business systems point to the same client(on the same r/3 technical system)? how about a work around?
    Thanks,
    Harsh

    Harsh,
    >><i>Finally all collapse to one client in production.</i>
Even though you will have multiple Business Systems in every envrionment, the final transport will happen from only one environment.
DEV --> QA --> PROD. In this case, objects are moved from dev to qa and then from QA to prod and so, all you will need is the trasnport target created in the QA business systems pointing to the Prod busines system and do the transport.
    ><i>While transporting to a new SLD(quality to prod) can I choose one transport target for multiple source business systems?</i>
Take a look at this document for multiple SLD transports. Should answer all doubts,

  • Two editors on two edit systems sharing the same footage, suggestions?

So I just got done shooting my first feature and now I've got to come up with a plan for editing.
    Here's what I got:
    1 Core 2 Duo iMac with FW800 FCS2
    1 Core Duo iMac with FW400 FCS2
    ~40hrs of DV25 footage
$800 dollars to spend on a storage solution
The Core 2 Duo iMac will be the primary system for the final edits, color correction, ect. and the other iMac will be used for rough cuts, capturing a/v, exporting, etc.
For the most part only one system will be editing at once, but I'd like both systems to have simultaneous access to the footage for the days when we need to hustle.
Originally my plan was to get a 1TB G-RAID2 (or something similar) and run firewire to both systems but from what I've heard, that's a bad idea. Maybe I could link it to one computer and have one system edit over a network?
I'm starting to think the only real solution is to give both systems their own drive, but it seems like a waste since we're using roughly 500GB of the same stuff. My "dual edting" idea is starting to seem like more of a pain than a benefit.
Thanks in advance for any help, and please let me know if you have a better idea for our post production setup overall.

With that much money, you only have two solutions.
    1) Get two drives...put the same footage on both, keeping the exact same file structure. Name both drives the same name so that when you swap projects you don't need to reconnect. Render files you will have to re-create...by rendering. Any new footage you capture onto one will have to be copied onto the other.
    2) Connect one drive to one iMac, connect both iMacs via Ethernet, then enable file sharing and include that drive. This, however, is very unreliable.
Shared Storage solutions costs thousands to tens of thousands of dollars.

  • Having Two Operating Systems on the same computer.

Is it possible to have two operating system on one computer?
I would like to have both Mac OSX 10.411 and Mac OSX 10.5 on my Power Mac G4.
I would like to be able to access each system independently. So that I may use my
editing software which is 10.411 compatible but not compatible with 10.5. Is this possible?
    Thanks!

  • Exporting two remote objects on the same port

    Hi,
I would like to export two remote objects on the same host, same port and bind them with different service names.
There is no problem when I do that from the same Java program.
But when I export and bind an object from a Java program 1, I cannot do the same with the second (and similar) Java program 2. This is the stack trace of my Exception:

It should work in any version of Java as long as the server socket factories are null or equal according to Object.equals() or its override in the SSF.equals() method if any. Which needs to be present and needs to take the form:
    public boolean equals(Object object)
      return object != null && object.getClass() == this.getClass();
}with further tests if the server socket factories have additional state.

  • Is it possible to install two SAP system with same SID but different instance numbers on one host?

Is it possible to install two SAP system with same system ID (SID) but different instance numbers on one host?
    If yes, then how?
    If no, then why?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sarim

Is it possible to install two SAP system with same system ID (SID) but different instance numbers on one host?
Yes, it is possible. If one is CI (PAS) and the second one is an AS (AAS). In this case there will be only one database.
If you are talking about two separate SAP systems with separate databases (Eg: A BI and an ECC) with the same SID then the problem will be with the database (Eg: Oracle)
The database will be installed under /oracle/SID/112_64 (ORACLE_HOME) unless one database is running on 10 G and in that case the ORACLE_HOME will be /oracle/SID/102_64
The next issue will be with the SAP file systems like /sapmnt/SID
The most important problem will be with the switch to the sidadm and orasid users and the conflicts there. If there is a need to stop one of the SAP systems and if you do a switch to sidadm and issue a stopsap command which system will be stopped ?
These are few of the many problems I can think of.
So if we are talking about two separate systems with their own databases I would rule out the possibility of having two systems with the same SID.

  • Two SAP systems, same smartform, different print outputs

We have two SAP systems, because of the different business areas that our company has.
We develop a smartform with a custom style which has Gill Sans MT as default font. The smartform is printed directly into PDF format.
On system A on all environments it works fine and we transported it to system B.
On system B the output on PDF format comes in bold, all the characters are bold. This happens on all environments. On preview we don't see bold font but the spacing between characters is larger than expected (for example, a date is printed in two lines of a cell).
I've checked the settings on SE73 and they are the same on both systems.
I've also created a second style were I've taken out all bold settings. On system A, the smartform' style was changed to this new one. The changes were transported to system B, and still it prints all bold.

Thanks for the replys. I think this is an answer to both.
    Checked SPAD and differences  are:
    1. output device LOCL:
    System A:
    - Device Type: ZSAPWIN
    - Host Spool Access Method: F
    System B:
    - Device Type: SAPWIN
    - Host Spool Access Method: G
    2. Device Type:
    System A:
    - has two custom formats (none used on this specific smartform)

  • Two SAP system in one host and one oracle software

    Hi SAP Gurus,
We want to install Two SAP system (PR1 & PP1) in one host(Prdb05) and one database (Oracle). I dont want to do MCOD.
I am very confuse about what changes i need to make before start the install of PP1. Actually i do not required to install oracle software again. am i correct ?
also i do not required to install oracle client again.am i correct ?
Will it take software automatically ?
In SAP note 350251 they asked me to run ./runinstaller !!! but when we
are not installing software again why we need to to execute that.
Will you please guide us for the same.

Hi , This is what you have to do .
Couple of questions before i answer anything
    1) Is your first SAP system installed ?
    2) is this High Available system
What Oliver suggested is a valid option on Windows , but not on Unix .
In Unix you might face problems for user, groups because the user for ORACLE_HOME should ideally be ora<SID>, and if you have 2 SID and one ORACLE_HOME , which user will you give ?
So , it is better that you have 2 seperate oracle software installed , 2 seperate ORACLE_HOME , 2 seperate filesystems for oracle software .
Hope you understood , what i am trying to say .
    Thanks
    Prasannna

  • Two databases in the same host.

    Hi Group,
I have a doupt, It's possible that two databases with the same name, live in the same host, if they have different OracleHomes, and the SO users who were installed with are different? eg.
    SO user: oraqas
    OracleHome1 : /qas/u01/app/oracle/product/9.2.0
    BD: prdsia01
    SO user: oracle
    OracleHome2: /u01/app/oracle/product/9.2.0
    BD: prdsia01
If not, what do you recommend?
    Thanks a lot

It's possible that two databases with the same name, live in the same host,
if they have different OracleHomes, and the SO users who were installed with are different? what is "SO users"?
    what is "BD: prdsia01"
Yes, two Oracle databases with same ORACLE_SID can reside on same system as same time.
The only restriction is that only one instance can be online at a time.

  • Risks of two development groups in the same system

    Hi,
    I need your help.
I'm looking for a document about the risks having two development groups in the same system.
The point is: An external party will come soon and start the implementation of a mini H2R in the same system as we (the internal team) are working for SD, MM, CO,... As the developments are cross-client, I'm asked to write a document explaining the risks in such cases like:
conflicts: working on the same objects
authorisations: each group should be assigned to different packages
planning: the go-live should be at the same time
transports: there can be conflicts on a transport-level
If you have any documentation that can help me, please let me know.
    Kind regards, Gilles.

I hope this is not considered a link farm:
Potential conflicts between already released transports:

  • Multiple Discovery Systems on the same network

Is anybody successfully running more than one DS on the same network? We have edited the hostname of the DS but their still seems to be a conflict between the two servers and the SID names cannot be the same as well.

    Hi Phillip,
The changing of the hostname is not recommended by SAP, but there is a customer who succeeded in doing so and claims to have even connected 4 Discovery Systems to the same network.
Knowing Maxim, I believe he indeed achieved it.
    Read his blog: /people/maxim.efimov2/blog/2007/05/07/how-to-change-hostname-on-sap-enterprise-soa-discovery-system
My only tip: make a backup of the systems before you make any significant changes.
