UCCX 7.01 CTI manager failover

Hi, I couldn't find any definitive  documentation on the what determines if a CCX server fails over to the  secondary CTI manager.  Is it loss of ping?  Is it CTI service related.
Env:
2 CCM servers running 7.0.2
1 CCX server running 7.0.1
Our  CCX server is pointed to the subscriber first and publisher second  under AXL provider and CTI manager.  Replication between the 2 servers  failed on Jan 2nd.  When folks tried to log into CCX on the morning of  Jan 3rd, they received an error stating that a CTI manager is not  available.  We logged into CCX and removed the subscriber from the list  of selected AXL and CTIM servers and people were able to log into CCX.   We rebooted the subscriber and after some time, replication was again  restored.
My  main concern was why did the CTI Manager running on the publisher not  take over?  Was it because the Subscriber was still pingable?  The TAC  engineer stated that the failover was based on pings.  Can anyone verify  this?  He did not seem too confident when he made this statement and it  would make much more sense to have the failover based on service  availability.
We've  since gone into RTMT and setup e-mail alerts so in the future, we'll at  least be given a heads up if there is a replication failure.
Thanks in advance!
-Eric

  • Uccx Critical Cisco Service Manager Error

    Hi
I have a issue. The UCCX trigger suddenly did not work, and I had to restar the engine service. The log service down at 12:57. The log indicate Critical, Cisco Service Manager message.
    The UCCX version is 8.5.1.10000-37
    TIA
    Cristian.

    Hi Cristian,
This is the event viewer logs which show the message for all the services. Even the Service restart will be logged and this log is not a true indicator of a service failure.
The points to note next time is:
    1. What is the status of the CTI RP on the CUCM when it fails?
    2. What is the status of the CTI Ports when the call fails?
    3. Are the internal calls to the RP working fine?
    4. Collect the MIVR and JTAPI logs from UCCX and CTI manager logs from CUCM and analyze for the failure.
The above should help you in finding the root cause.
    Regards,
    Arundeep

  • IPCC Express - maximum number of CTI Manager

In the Cisco Unified CM Configuration page in CCX.
I have 3 CCM server and I can only select 2 CTI Manager.
There is also this message on the bottom of the page :
    Note:
    * indicates required item
Only 2 CTI Managers can be selected for Cisco Unified CM Telephony and RmCm Providers
Is there any way to change that, a setting somewhere to let CCX accept a third node, or is there a licence for that ?
    thanks

To my knowledge there is no data sheet. However in the SRND for UCCX they are referred to by Primary and Backup. There is no tertiary.

  • ICM and CTI Manager connection

I configured duplex CCE 7.0 ~ 8.0 system and 4 servers CM cluster. I know as CCE can have 2 connections to CUCM CTI Manager.
Unfortunetely that 2 servers failed, CCE's functionality is stopping.
I'd like to know CC system can make over 2 connection to CUCM CTI Manager.

Not without manually updating the CM PIM configuration on the PG's themselves through setup. At least on UCCE 7.x this is the case. I haven't heard otherwise for v8. This is a significant lacking 'feature' IMO for an enterprise solution.

  • UCCX 8 and CTI ports in UCM

Hi! I try to configure UCCX.
First of all, how many CTI port shoul I setup in Call Controll Group? Is it anought to setup one CTI port for all 10 agents?

    Hi
    The system works like this:
    1) Call hits a 'CTI route point', which is shown as a 'trigger' in UCCX. Think of that as a pilot number.
    2) Before UCCX can do anything, it sends the call from CTI Route Point to a CTI Port.
    3) On the CTI Port, the call is answered, and the scripts you define run. The call will stay on the CTI port until it is transferred out of the system OR to an agent, or the call ends.
    4) When the call goes to an agent, the CTI port is no longer used.
So - typically you would have at least as many ports as agents. What the number of ports affects is the number of simultaneous calls that the system can have queueing or being prompted or held at once. How many you need depends on a lot of factors...
    - If your agents take long calls, calls may come in several at once and queue for a long time
    - If they have low staff periods (i.e. the big team lunch in the pub every day) calls will probably queue a lot
    - If you have a lot of agents, and short call and queue times, you may not have a lot of calls queueing generally
    - if you have a complex menu system or a lot of prompts before callers get to an agent, your CTI ports will be used for a  longer time, and are therefore subject to more congestion
Generally you license the sytem per agent, and try to over provision the ports as it's difficult to predict what is needed. Consider the number of agents you have, and the number of possible inbound calls (i.e. number of inbound channels on the PSTN circuits used for the Contact Centre numbers), and the capabilities of whatever system you are replacing.
If you have 10 agents and a single PRI, and your license lets you add 20 or 30 ports, I would do it.
Sometimes customers get new licenses and add more agents, but they will never remember to set up more CTI ports... if they have more to start with, that's not problem.
    Regards
    Aaron

  • Concurrent manager failover

    hi,
I did a cloning and addnode.
I enabled Parallel concurrent processing by keeping APPLDCP = ON in context file on both nodes and ran autoconfig. After that if i stop or start concurent manager on one node it stop/start on other node also instead of failing over.
can any one trace out what has happened.

  • CSCud76273 - CTI Manager sends invalid Device state to JTAPI client

Did anyone find a workaround in a code, which can be invoked either using JTAPI or using AXL API to resolve it?
Also, did anyone see something like that with UCM 10.5 and JTAPI 1.4?

It seems Gnome 3 is in a slightly random state at the moment. While I don't have issues with my wi-fi, other things seem to work and then fail at random boots and other times.
One thing you might try with nm-applet to get wi-fi to connect automatically is change the following lines in /etc/rc.conf:
    Change:
    eth0="dhcp"
    INTERFACES=(eth0)
    to:
    wlan0="dhcp"
    INTERFACES=(wlan0)
    Cheers.

  • How to test UCCX failover (no HA)

    Hello,
I would like to test uccx failover with one UCCX and there is no HA configured.
I configured in UCCX/Cisco Unified CM Configuration => there is 2 Callmanagers for AXL Service Providers and 2 Callmanagers for CTI Managers if I stopping both Callmanagers server AXL Service Providers and CTI Managers (First server in list).
Can you tell me how I can test uccx failover (CAD, Calls, etc....)?
There is one uccx which is installed (no HA).
    Thank you so much.
    BR
    Aubert

    Hi Gergely,
Thanks a lot for your advices and if I understand this is the same test scenario if we  disconnected the first callmanager with activated AXL service Providers or the CTI manager or the test scenario is different for both services.
-To test calls and to verify which are not disconnect
-To verify CAD which should not disconnect
    -To verify reports work
    Thank you so much;

After upgrade the uccx from 8.2 to 8.5 then application manager services are show in partical state.
    Under UCCX service enginer.
application manager service are show ( PARTIAL_SERVICE).
I check the jtapi username and password are ok, I check the CTI route point and CTI port are registered.
Please can you help me on that how to resolved this issue.

    Hi Ketanpatani,
Please run the JTAPI and Data Resyn operation from the UCCX Admin-> CUCM Telephony subsystem and look out for any inconsistencies between UCCX and CUCM.
Make sure all the CTI route points\ Triggers in enabled state.
If you have a UCCX HA setup, make sure to run all the services are in master state in UCCX Node1 (for this you can just reboot the UCCX second node so that all the services are running in master state from first Node of UCCX).
    Thanks,

  • When do the CTI ports between CUCM and UCCX get created

    Hi All,
I am trying to work out when the CTI ports between CUCM and UCCX get created.
Do they get created during the post installtion wizzard when you selectthe number of HR licenses or do you need to manually create the CTI ports after the post installation wizzard.
    Many thanks for any help
    Regards

In new versions (since 4.x) UCCX creates the CTI route points on Call Manager when a trigger is added on UCCX side.
When you add a Call Control Group on UCCX side, that process creates all the CTI ports in CUCM automatically or updates the existing ones if you change settings for the call control group.

  • Failover Cluster Manager Missing

I created new Windows 2012 R2 Servers (non-core) and configured a functional failover cluster.
I then removed the GUI using the Powershell command:
    Remove-WindowsFeature Server-Gui-Shell, Server-Gui-Mgmt-Infra
After testing applications, it was determined that the applications would not run properly without the server GUI shell.  I added it back using the following PowerShell command:
    Add-WindowsFeature Server-Gui-Shell, Server-Gui-Mgmt-Infra
I notice that after this, when I go into Server Manager, Failover Cluster Manager is no longer available.
    How do I restore it?

    Hi;
Simply remove the Failover Cluster Management Tools from the Remote Server Administration Tools in Server Manager and reinstalling it again should resolve your problem.

  • Node manager service not starting

    Hi
I am doing a uccx setup with cucm in VM ware.
I am not able to open the appadmin page and when i triy to do so the node manger service get stopped .
    from the mvir loggs in "c:\program files\wfavvid\logs\mivr " i cann't see anything.
what can be the possibility for this.
    Appreciate your quicj response.
    Thanks

You're not providing much to work with here.
What version of UCCX are you working with?  What version of Callmanager?  Have you confirmed that your services are running on CallManager (like the callmanager service, CTI Manager, AXL service, etc.)?  Those services sometimes don't start properly if your VM's are on underpowered hosts.  Check them.
If the node manager doesn't start, usually, it tries to reboot the UCCX server.  Is that happening?  What errors are you seeing in the event logs?  Are your services working and processing scripts?
Is this a new install, or was it working and just broke?
Tell us more.  We can't see what's going on over there.

  • UCCX agent stuck in Not Ready status

    Hi             There
We are using uccx 7 and 1 agent's status stuck in the "Not Ready".
We can not see his account in the supervisor but in the "Resource Cisco Unified Contact Center Express Stats" I can see his status is in Not Ready for more than 44 hours.
Is there any way we can clear the session?
    Thank you in advance.

Do you think there is an agent logged in and Not Ready, or do you think it's a hung session?
If you think it's a real login, reboot the PC.
If you think it's a hung session then you'll have to restart a service of two. I would just plan for a maintenance window and reboot the server along with your CUCM CTI Manager.
    Good luck and happy troubleshooting!

  • UCCX 8.01

    when integrating uccx with cucm,
under uccx administration page under unified CM configuration, the option RMCM subsystem is not available.and also the cti ports are not  registed in cucm.
whatcould be the cause for these issues?
    thanks
    kavi

    Hi Kavithas,
UCCX has two License from the top of the Umbrella.
    1. UCCX
    2. IPIVR (no More IP QM, IPIVR is used instead of IP QM)
UCCX come with Agents with it where as IVR comes without Agents but only with IVR capabilities.
UCCX again has 3 sub types, Standard , Enhanced and Premium (in all these types you will see the RmCm subsystem)
It really depends on your requirement on what type of license to choose from.
In all of the above cases you will need to create a CCG (Call Control Groups) with range of CTI ports to hold tha call to play some prompts...etc.
Please try data resync operation from UCCX and CTI Manager service restart from CUCM and see if these CTI ports gets registered or not.
    Hope this helps.
