UK iPod Nano - European (German) Power Cable

Hi all,
Might seem a stupid question but here goes.
I intend on buying my girlfriend an iPod Nano. However, she lives in Germany and as such i can't order European power cords off the UK apple site.
I was just wondering that if i buy the iPod Nano here in the UK she will be able to buy a power cable in Germany and everything will work fine without blowing up?
Thanks in advance.

The iPod does not come with any power cable or charger at all in any country.
The iPod charges by connecting to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
As USB is a worldwide standard and computer that has a USB powered port will be able to charge the iPod regardless of the power being fed to the computer.
If you want to buy a separate charger for the iPod you can get them from the German Apple Store, they are also able to be used Worldwide as they have a voltage range suitable for use anywhere.
Here are the details :-

Yes you have a one year warranty from the date of purchase from Apple. Go to this link and on the bottom right hand side it will ask you to enter your serial number and will tell you if you are still under warranty. http://www.apple.com/support/
If you are you can take it to a Apple store, or request service online here http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/
If it is out of warranty you can google a third party service provider and get it serviced out of warranty. There are two that I know of that provide free diagnostic service. You only pay for shipping and they will tell you what is wrong and what it will cost to fix. They are ifixipodsfast.com and ipodmods.com but there are others also (I just have no experience with them) Good luck and as was stated it should charge from your usb. and just for grins, look at the docking connector on your ipod and see if there is any obstruction that is obvious.

    Hi ..
Follow the troubleshooting steps here >  Apple - Support - iPod nano - iTunes Troubleshooting Assistant

  • Ipod nano 6 gen power button and volume up and down not working, Ipod nano 6 gen power button and volume up and down not working

Ipod nano 6 gen power button and volume up and down not working, Ipod nano 6 gen power button and volume up and down not working

Try restarting your device. If that doesn't work, take it to an Apple store. If it is less than a year old and just stopped working, they will replace it for free (be sure to back it up to iTunes first). If you dropped it, you will have to pay because Apple will not replace a device due to "Human Error." If it is more than a year old, you will either have to pay to get it fixed, or have to pay to get it replaced.

  • IPod nano doesn't power on

I received a couple of days ago an iPod Nano as a replacement for the 1g Nano with battery problems.
I was listening to some radio stations, and it suddenly turned off. I thought the battery went down since it already was at low levels, so I connected it to the power supply for 1h. It still doesn't turn on. I also tried to hold down the volume down and the standby button for 20s, but nothing happens.

Contact Apple Support about the issue as the replacement Nano should still be under the 90 warranty that came with it.

  • Can I use my iPod Nano 2G USB connection cable with iPad 2?

The connection cable for my iPod Nano 2G looks almost the same as the connection cable for my iPad 2, the only obvious difference being that the iPod cable has a bigger plug with press-in release buttons.
Is it possible to use either cable with either device, or is each cable device-specific?
    TIA

You should be able to use this cable without any problems.

  • Ipod Nano will not power on, but works when plugged in. Any fix?

Hello, My wife's Ipod Nano I got her for her birthday a while back will not turn on.  She thought the battery was dead and hasn't used it in some time.  Now when she or I plug it in it comes on, you can see her music and connect to our Itunes but it will not turn on from battery.
It is NOT the hold/lock button on top I have tried everything.
I tried holding down the menu button and select button, still nothing.  What can I do?

If the iPod functions normally while plugged into an external power source of some sort (either USB port on your PC or Mac OR while plugged into a wall adapter), but doesn't when running on battery power, it's likely that the iPod's battery is shot.
You can have Apple or a third party repair center replace the battery for a flat fee. Otherwise, it's time to start saving for a new iPod or replacement.

  • IPod Nano refuses to power on

I've had this ipod Nano 2nd Gen for six months. It worked great until yesterday, when I turned it off as usual, put it in my pocket, walked for a few minutes, and was unable to get it to come back on. This morning I've tried everything recommended on apple.com, including charging it, resetting it, etc. It is not recognized by iTunes.

  • Ipod nano 7th gen cannot be detected by Itunes after restore

Following the recent death of my Macbook Pro (due graphic card problem) I've switched to my backup laptop and moved all my files to the windows 8.1 laptop. I knew that connecting my Ipod Nano (7th Generation) to the new laptop would result in losing all my playlist and music currently stored.
I needed to update my ipod's list with new things so I took the chance (innocently thinking that all I needed to do was just remake my playlists and re-sync it). Initially it started off well, but towards the later parts of restoring, iTunes gave an error saying that the restore could not be completed and led me to a thread on Apple Support. Following the steps, I disconnected my ipod and reconnected it. Nothing happened. Itunes did not recognize the ipod, and the ipod goes into a grey looking screen with a simple message that says okay to disconnect.
My question is, how am I suppose to restore my ipod, when itunes can't detect my ipod.
I've been struggling really badly with the loss of my Macbook Pro and now this. Can someone help me? Thanks in advance
Currently running on Windows 8.1 and iTunes version 11.4.0.18

    Hello there, lycusfenriz.
It can definitely be frustrating when your having trouble with multiple devices at the same time, but the steps in the article below may help with getting your iPod recognized in iTunes. The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great, in-depth recommendations for troubleshooting an iPod not being recognized in iTunes:
iPod nano (7th generation): Hardware troubleshooting

    Connectivity/syncing
Follow these steps if your computer doesn't recognize your iPod or you have issues with syncing your iPod.
iPod not recognized by iTunes or computer
Make sure you have installed the latest iTunes software from www.itunes.com/downloads. Try connecting to a different USB port on your computer. Your computer needs a USB 2.0 port or a USB 3.0 port to connect iPod nano. If you have a Windows PC that doesn't have a USB 2.0 port, in some cases you can purchase and install a USB 2.0 card.
If iPod nano is connected to a USB hub, try connecting iPod nano directly to your computer's USB port.
iPod nano might need to be reset. Reset iPod by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and Home button until you see the Apple logo appear.
If you're connecting iPod nano to a portable computer using the Lightning Cable, connect the computer to a power outlet before connecting iPod nano.
Check the cable connections. Disconnect the cable at both ends and make sure no foreign objects are in the USB ports. Then reconnect the cable.
Try reinserting the Lightning connector into the iPod. The Lightning connector can be inserted either way.
    Try restarting your computer.
If none of these steps resolves the issue, you might need to restore the iPod nano software.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
