Unable to generate Dynamic PDF

Hi,
I created a xdp file from xml and xsl files and then used Form Server to generate dynamic pdf file. The xdp file has lot of javascript. The pdf file generated by form server does not change colors of labels of the fields, when incorrect values are entered into the fields (accomplished using javascript). But the xdp file used to generate this pdf when run within Adobe Form Designer shows changes of colors of labels. I observed few differences between the two approaches. One being dynamicRenderer tag. How can I accomplish the changes of colors in the pdf generated using form server?
Thanks a lot in advance

To force the generated PDF to be a dynamic PDF add the following option to the option string passed into the renderForm() method:
RenderAtClient=true

  • Unable to generate a PDF from SWF

    Hi,
I am using SWF file as my form. I am unable to generate the form data into PDF with pdfgenerator Livecycle ES2.
Does anyone facing the problem?? any help on this....
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Even we are trying to convert SWF file to PDF file and it is not working out. I believe that we should have Acrobat 9.0 or higher in order to use Generate PDF service. We have Adobe Reader version 9.3.1.
    Please help.

  • Unable to generate a PDF file for 1 of 3 books

I'm making three documents (books) in FrameMaker and then converting to PDF. The first two books generated to PDF with no "major" problems. There were a couple of glitches here and there but most were simply operator error. This forum solved two of my problems.
Now, with the third book, I can't generate the PDF and get error messages in the log file. I've gone back and triple checked everything and can't find a thing that's different between this last book and the first two. I've used the same templates and all of the paragraph formats and character formats are identical in all three documents.
I'm setting all of the PDF setup parameters the same. In the Adobe PDF setup, I've made certain that the "Rely on system fonts only..." check box is unchecked.
One of the error messages in the log file says,
%%[ Warning: LucidaSans cannot be embedded because of licensing restrictions. ]%%
%%[ Font vendor (B&H) does not permit this font to be embedded in PDF. ]%%
This would make sense if Lucida Sans font were only used in this one book. But it's used in the first two books as well and they generate as PDF with no problems. In fact, just to make sure, I went back and generated one of the first books over again and it worked perfectly.
The only significant (?) difference in the third book is that it is much larger than the first two. It runs to 150 pages while the first two are 45 pages and 70 pages. But I've worked with books as large as 450 pages in the past.
I've been creating the PDF documents by the FM Save as PDF feature. But because of this problem, I downloaded and installed a trial version of Acrobat X. Then printed to PS file, opened with Acrobat and tried to distill. Got the same results and the same error messages.
My experience with FrameMaker and Adobe in general is that error messages and indicated results may be cryptic and sometimes have absolutely nothing to do with the actual problem. In any event, I'm totally snowed by this one. (I really shouldn't pick on Adobe for that. Microsoft is much worse when it comes to vague and cryptic error messages!)
Sure wish I had a Mac right now. Or Linux. Or...

Thank you very much for the input. That makes perfect sense to me. The Lucida fonts are, indeed, all from Bigelow & Holmes (B&H). So that explains the difficulties I was encountering. Now, here’s where it gets a little weird.
I created the first two pdf files at work. I work about half of the time from home and was trying to create the pdf file yesterday at home. And that didn’t work. This morning, I loaded all of the files back into the computer in the office and tried again. No problem! Created a nice looking 162-page pdf file. Oh, I did say it got weird, didn’t I? Well, the computer at home and the one at work are both running the same version of Win 7 Pro, the same versions of FM10 and Acrobat X. And the Lucida fonts installed (probably the default set with Windows) are all B&H fonts. That’s right; the same on both computers.
Your input was very helpful because I might have continued spinning my wheels for another day or so on this thing. As it is, I’m considering the matter solved because I just won’t try to make pdf files from these three documents at home. The other alternative would be to use a different font. Umm, no, not at this time. All of the body paragraphs are Lucida Sans. What a task that would be! The other alternative, of course, is to spend a few bucks and by fonts for my home computer that have the proper licensing.
    Again, thanks!

  • Generating Dynamic PDF Workflow & Appropriate Tools

Hi I’m working with a client who is looking to  dynamically generate a large number of letters for their clients.
Each letter with have a custom image in the letter  head and throughout the letter, depending on the dealer and promotion there is  quite a large amount of text substitution.
The client currently delivers the letter as  indesign files which at the moment we are either using live cycle (which imports very  poorly) or acrobat to go through manually and create form fields for areas that  require image or text substitution.
My largest issue as a developer is that livecycle  doesn’t give you the default text value capabilities to add large paragraphs of  text as default values.. indesign doesn’t let you design or export form fields  and acrobat sits halfway in between.
This is extremely frustrating as it ruins the  kerning and leading set in indesign because we need to text substitute and form  fields have little to no alignment or layout tools associated and so I was wondering  what would people generally use in this instance to achieve the desired  effect..
As it feels like we  have 3 solutions that generate pdfs all have slightly differing features  some better than others and why flip between 3 different tools to try  and do one thing well.. like if you could drag forms into indesign it  would solve everything!
    Regards,
    Tom
    PDF

Unfortunately that doesn't really help because the designer gives
us the files, we need to make a forms based template and then users from different dealerships log in a substitute their info into tags.. so we're manipulating the forms programatically..

  • Output Post Processor is unable to generate the PDF output

    Hi,
We are using a custom RDF to generate PDF output using a RTF template built using XML. We are facing some problem while running this XML report. The report is completing with warning because of the following reason.
"The concurrent manager has timed out waiting for the Output Post-processor to finish this request."
The problem is not because of the temp space because we printed a sample XML report which is having thousands of pages.
We have tried by changing the value of the profile option "Concurrent: OPP Process Timeout" to 5000, 10000 etc. But still the issue is not resolved.
The report is giving the output if the number of rows are less. It's failing for bulk number of rows.
It would be greatful for us if any one of you can give ideas on these...
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi Sairam
there might be something wrong with your template,
might be improper usage of Conditional and Looping statments,
might be improper usage of nested tables,
just check you template once again
report should work for any set of data(small or large),

    Hi,
not sure this is the right fourm or not, but I require a way to add flex data grid in my livecycle form to generate PDF containing flex grid.
I tried adding a flex swf in Flash Field in Live cycle but it is giving me
Error #2032: Stream Error. URL: file://PDFMedia026281/g/framework4.6.0.23201.swf
I am new to this environement so any help would be great.

    Hi,
with Designer ES3 (formerly know as ADEP Designer) you can use Flash files within XFA forms.
    Check Niall O'Donovan's article.
He has prepared a nice example of using flash charts which can be manipulated at runtime.

  • Unable to generated a pdf file in framemaker12

I have created a book and even though I have the latest update, FM 12 won't create a PDF from the book. I get a log file and a text file and that's it. It was working yesterday. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    @medic75,
I'm not completely certain with just the PDF Creator present, but try this route:
Print > Setup (for Adobe PDF) > Properties > Default settings (a.k.a. joboptions) > Edit > Fonts tab > When embedding fails...

  • Unable to render dynamic forms in Adobe Reader 11.0.2.0 for Firefox

    Hi,
I had just upgraded my browser's (Firefox) Adobe Reader plugin to the latest version , 11.0.2.0 and it seems that it is unable to render DYNAMIC PDF forms created by Adobe Livecycle after this. However STATIC forms are okay.
Is there anyone facing the same problem? Is Adobe aware of this?
    Thanks.

    Hi Pat,
Yes I was using Firefox 19 indeed. This certainly fixed it.
    Thanks for the help!

  • How to generate a PDF 417 Barcode by assigning a dynamic value at runtime?

PDF 417 Barcode Description given in the Livecycle Designer 8.2
: PDF 417 Non-Scriptable Barcode. Value must be assigned to this barcode at design time, and this barcode will not update after form object value changes.
And my question is how to generate a PDF 417 Barcode by assigning a dynamic value at runtime?

All the information you described points to the problem that reports seems can't generate to a file which already exist. You can verify that by simply doing
    r30run32 C:\AC_REPORT.REP DESTYPE = FILE DESFORMAT = PDF BATCH = YES' desname=c:\temp\ac_report.pdf
several times. If first time the report is successfully generated in c:\temp\ac_report.pdf, but not the second, third time, then it looks like there is a bug on reports r30run32 executable.
You may try to find any latest patch for Reports 3.0 to see if patch can solve you problem. But keep in mind Reports 3.0 is de-supported, you are better to move to 6i or 9i reports.
    Thanks,
    -Shaun

  • Unable to generate Pdf report for crystal 9/10  in Windows 2012 (Standard) server with Times New Roman font. With same font, report getting generated in excel, text, csv format in Windows 2012.

For Times New Roman font in Windows server 2012 R2 (Standard), crystal 9/10 report in pdf format is not getting generated. When we change the font for specific report like Arial, Calibri , Cambria then pdf report getting created.
In Windows 2008 R2, same application worked fine to generate pdf report for TimesNewRoman font and there is no change done in the application which is being used in Windows 2012 R2 server.

Ok, thanks for the reply. You need to contact support or a forum for the Crystal software. Third party products don't usually include Adobe technology, they have their own software. When you contact them, you may want to expand "unable to generate" to give any specific symptoms including any error messages.

  • Generate Dynamic Hyperlinks/Bookmarks in PDF Output.

    Hi,
I'm trying to develop an RTF template which will generate the output with Bookmarks in PDF format. As per the Enterprise User Guide, <?copy-to-bookmark:?> or <?convert-to-bookmark:?> should be able to generate a static or dynamic bookmark, respectively. But, all my attempts in doing so go in vain.
Again, I have a summary page in front, and detail pages suffixed; hence, I am trying to create a link on the summary page field, to the respective detail page. But, I am not sure of the steps.
    Example:
    Page1:
    Deptno. Dname Number of Employees
    10 Production 15
    20 Research 8
    etc...
    Page2 Onwards
    Deptno. 10
    Dname. Production
    EMPNO ENAME SAL
    7782
Kindly advise if anyone has any idea about this.
    Thanks,
    L. Mukunthan.
