Unable to Install Win 8 in Probook 450 G2

I bought a new note book of HP Probook 450 G2 with Free DOS installed by factory. I am quite familier with DOS, Partitions & technical staff. I purchased this Probook 450 G2 becase of its beautifull design & specs, Its price suite me so I purchased it without Windows installed.
So after getting it I tried to install Windows 8 Pro via a USB Boot Installation but I got stuck at selecting Pratition to where it would be installed. It has 1 TB Hard dics drive.
I deleted all partitions --- >> Unallocated 1 TB
created single partition of 1TB ----> Created Partition 1 Size = 1TB
Clicked to Install Windows in it ---- > Error ( We couldn't create a new partition or locate an exiting one )
Then tried Again !
I deleted all partitions --- >> Unallocated 1 TB
created single partition of 200GB ----> Created Partition 1 Size = 200GB
Clicked to Install Windows in it ---- > Error ( We couldn't create a new partition or locate an exiting one )
Then tried Again !
Put Win 98 CD and Run FDISK ( The old way -> Low Level Format )
created single primary dos partition of 500GB ----> Created Partition 1 Size = 500GB
It took 12 Hours to complete above process " Verifying Device Intergity ..... "
After 12 Hours of completion I said to restart & farmat C:
After restart at started Win 98 with CD support ..
reached Command Prompt : FORMAT C: /Q
Error : Media Not found
This HP Probook is purchased 2 days back.
If anyone know how to resolve this issue.
Help will be appreciated.

You're very welcome.
Sometimes strange things happen.
The error messages don't always match up with the real problem.
It sounds like Windows can't find the drive and when it can't find the drive that normally means the applicable sata driver needs to be installed.

You need to go to the computer maker and get a copy of the OEM for your system.  YOu cannot download a non OEM and repair "it" with the OEM CD'S.  The cd's are probably for repair not install.  Does your system have a restore partition?

  • Msi k9a2: unable to install win xp (sp3) on WD 150Gb velociraptor

I recently bought a MSI k9a2 V2 mobo, with 2x1Gb 1066 memory and AMD 9850. I installed win xp on a WD 150Gb raptor connected to sata1. Bios upgraded to 1.5, I got the mem to run on 1066 by changing the bios mem setting to 1:2.66.
A week later I wanted the board changed to  V1 because I need the Promise Sata 5 and 6 ports.
This board is an absolute pain: WD raptor not recognised by sb600 raid port1, even though the correct driver is installed. Ports 2 thru 4 see the drive, but I still cannot install the win xp os, I can connect the drive to the promise connectors, but I also cannot install the os. Installing win xp os on a 7200rpm drive (ie Samsung 1Gb) works, but I want it on a raptor.
MSI support tells me to upgrade to bios 1.65, which is brand new since last week, and is not even put on their website yet, I had to get a password and login to get it from their ftp. I succesfully installed the new bios, but no change.
This board has a Tom's Hardware recommendation but it absolutely does not deserve it. I find it unacceptable that installing an os requires such a pain. If and when I find a solution I will post it, but I would very much appreciate help or input from anyone with similar experiences and/or new ideas.

    just an FYI
I too had problems with 3 MSI K9A2 Platinum and the 9950BE, ATI 4850 and 4GB OCZ 1066, but i managed to find the problems... I think
OK, the first board would not recognize any of my HD's (4 10k Raptors) SOLUTION: BAD BOARD=EXCHANGE
OK the second board was very unstable, would throw BSOD all the time even just loading WINDOWS VISTA either on IDE, RAID on SB600 or Promise RAID...  SOLUTION: EXCHANGE (thinking it was defective)
3rd board; I really wanted the 4x PCIe 16x slots and no other board has this layout, so I started HARD on the board, loaded VISTA 64 in IDE mode ch1 on a RAPTOR 10k, after loading I got a BSOD  , so I boot and entered the bios, I set all at default and started one MENU at the time, i found the my RAM was not working at 1066, but at 800MHz, so i change it to 1:2.66 for a 1066MHZ, and booted.
another BSOD  , I went back to the bios and checked the voltage to the ram...   , my ram is rated for 2.1v not 1.8 that the system was delivering  so i manually changed the voltage, and booted...  well it lasted longer, I was able to load some applications and games... and then BSOD    what else can be wrong
I then loaded AMD overdrive utils to monitor the system and try to OC the Phenom ( call me crazy for trying to Overclock a non stable system, but i wanted to find out why it was not stable...)
so I let the system autoOC and it crashed every single time...
I don't give up easy..  the Phenom 9950 is know for easy OC to at least 3.0Ghz, so I manually started OC the CPU on the Overdrive software and checking the temp and voltage.. and then I discover one thing  , as i changed the multiplier slider on the AMD overdrive, it adjusted the voltage up slightly and i was able to OC to 3.0 Ghz and run benchmarks, but the fun soon stop by the dreaded BSOD, so i started back at the bios by setting the processor multiplier by default, but increase the voltage (so no OC'ing is done now, just up the voltage)
4hrs later no BSOD's and the system is running like a champ  , so it came to me... the CPU Cores need more voltage even at the default speed, as i noticed that they run OK w/o BSOD as long as the don't exceed about 60-80% load for long before system HUNG or BSOD, now all I needed was to OC and boost the volage even higher
    so far I been running error free @ 15x Multiplier, 1.448v 3.0Ghz, OCZ ram 1066MHz @ 2.1 5-5-5-18 per LABEL on RAM, ATI 4850 Saphire OC'd to 690MHz core/ 2196MHz Memory (1098)
so to summarized all this; the Phenom CPU's are under voltage! and this board you need to enter all the voltage, timings, ratios for the RAM.
I hope this helps other users, but be careful not to push the voltage to high!

  • Unable to install Win 8 Pro on GPT 3TB disk

I am unable, with all the willpower in the world, to install Windows 8 Pro on a 3TB harddisk.
I have tried about everything, I'm an IT professional and I just can't get it to work. The pinned topic from xmad does not work for me at all.
I'm using a Z77A-G45 motherboard with the latest official UEFI BIOS (2.9). I boot from the UEFI DVD Drive with an official Windows 8 DVD, check my disk is in GPT mode (it is) and continue the installer.
When I arrive at the disk partitioning screen, I select create new partition and Windows creates a 100 mbyte partition, a 2 TB partition and leaves about 750GB as unusable.
I check the disk and windows has moved it back to a normal non GPT disk.
I tried manually creating the partition with diskpart: an EFI partition with 30 megabyte for the bootloader, and MSR partition of 300 megabyte and a primary partition of 2.7 TB. After refreshing the partitioning screen I see the correct partitions and Windows simply says "can not install on a disk that is in EFI mode".
I've searched and read and tried every thing but I just can not get this to work. I'm getting pretty desperate here and would like any and all input you can give me.

Enable win 8 mode in Bios, but disable msi fast boot and fast boot for now.
It is easier if you install from a usb, re-format and clean the drive using diskpart and follow the guide then.
If any trouble, update to the latest bios here:

  • Unable to install Win 7

Hi, everybody. I'm trying to upgrade my copy of Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit to Windows 7 without any luck so far. I purchased the retail Win 7 Ultimate upgrade disk. I boot into Vista using Bootcamp, insert the Win 7 DVD, run setup.exe, and I immediately get the message "unable to create required installation folder."That's as far as it gets.
I'd like to do an in-place upgrade to keep my current files and settings.
I'm running a late 2009 Mac Pro with Snow Leopard. I can usually boot back and forth into OS X and Vista using Bootcamp with no problems.

I have a few guesses why. I would use Windows Easy Transfer which saves all your non-program files. A clean custom install though really is better. I did both (three actually) and plan to redo one of them.
Show invisible files/folder like AppData and in WET be sure to click on
Custom and Advanced and then make sure to check what you need, but also uncheck any location you don't want.
Windows 7 wants a 100MB recovery partition. It may be trying to use an EFI (FAT) partitiion, or have trouble with Apple's scheme.
I assume and hope Vista is on its own hard drive. But others have been able to do what you want with MacBook and iMac.
If you didn't remove Mac OS boot drive, try that, I always had to when installing Vista on separate drives.

  • Unable to install Win XP

Hi. Have been using Win XP on 32GB partition setup via Boot Camp for some while and worked well. I now need more Windows space so have used Boot Camp to restore everything and have partitioned again to 100GB and tried to install Windows again(using my original install disk) I get lots of hard disk activity but just a black screen! I have a 20" apple monitor and a Viewsonic 20" monitor connected. I have seen the MXM update info' for black screens using a 24" monitor but my system tells me I don't need it. Can anyone please help me get Windows XP installed on my new 100GB partition? Thanks.

  • T500 - unable to install Win 7 Ultimate

I purchased a T500 (8GB, 600GB, 2.4) online in January.  I like it very much.  It came with Win 7 Ultimate installed. I suspect the O/S was a "90 day trial version". Recently I have been getting pop-ups that said "Your version of Windows is not valid".  As a result, I validated and purchased a new Win 7 Ultimate version.  It came with a new activation key, and a few days later - DVD media.
I attempted to install 64 bit, and after several hours received "This version of Windows could not be installed".
I installed the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, and the report shows - "More info from LENOVO - visit the LENOVO website".
How do I accomplish installing Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) on the T500?  Thank you for your assistance.  jimk2240

  • Unable to install Boot Camp 3.1 on Win 7 on iMac Intel (suggestions?)

I got the OEM version of Windows 7, professional and 64 bits, and installed it via Boot Camp Assistant. Got it running (no keyboard recognition), and tried to install Boot Camp for Win 7 via the Apple site:
"Unable to install 3.1, needs 3.0".
No problem, insert OSX disk (10.6.3), click, aaand:
"Boot Camp 64bit is not supported on this model"
Uh?,... I thought that my machine was supported (it's running Win7 64bits!),... any suggestions?. Am I doing something wrong?. Any help will be appreciated.

Unfortunately I cannot answer your question but I'm hoping someone can help us. I went a step further than you. I have an iMac 8.1 Intel Core 2Duo 2.8 GHZ Processor (early 2008). I spoke with Apple Customer Support and made it clear that I had Windows 32 bit and 64 bit software and wanted to install on my iMac and MBP. The agent told me to order Snow Leopard for the iMac. I found out tonight I cannot use 64 bit on this particular iMac even though Customer Support had the serial number and data when we ordered the Snow Leopard disc.
So, I partitioned the HD equally between Mac and Windows. Boot Camp installed Windows 7 with no problem and then encountered the same thing you did. Install Boot Camp 3.0 before 3.1. When I put the brand new Mac OS X Snow Leopard from Apple in the iMac it said 'not supported'. I tried to install but it won't.
Funnything is Win 7 seems to be running. I am having problems with the numeric keyboard on the UBS keyboard. I haven't really tried to do too much.
My question to append to yours is how do I go about uninstalling Windows 7 and installing Windows 7 32 bit?
I'm sick about this but at least I believe I can install the 64 bit on my current MBP. I wanted it on both my computers.

  • Unable to boot Win 7 after cleaning factory installed Win 8.1_shuts down at preparing desktop

I had factory installed Win 8.1 on my HP P 206TX laptop but I wanted to install some software which does not support any OS above Win 7, so I wanted to remove this.
    I did the following process:-
    1. Created Win 8.1 recovery media(DVD) for future usage.
    2. BIOS setting:-
       a. Secure boot - Disabled
       b. Legacy boot - Enabled
    3. Cleaned hard disk through DISKPART
    4. Converted GPT to MBR
    5. Installed Win 7 Ultimate 64bit (DVD).......almost done till preparing desktop....
Then just during preparing desktop, system logged off, shut down and restarted....
But the restart does not boot windows at all.
It only shows "press ESC for startup menu" and then restarts again with the same process repeating again & again.
I have tried Repair through Win 7 DVD but it shows "this version of system recovery options is not compatible with the version of windows".
Please help as I am unable to find any solution anywhere on the internet.
I hope HP can help me...PLEASE

    Hi
According to your machines support pages on HP website, Windows 7 drivers are not available for your machine this is more than likely the issue you are having . If you want to run software through Windows 8.1 that is not compatible for Windows 8.1 you can always run a Virtual box and install Windows 7 to Virtual box and run software via there..
Google search Virtual box --- download and install then install your ISO image of Windows 7 and go from there..

My DVD lecture is probably broken and unable to boot from disc DVD Install Win 7.
At my flat i have got Ethernet LAN with PC Desktop with DVD Lectrure included.
Is there any option in my HP 'BIOS' to set booting via net from DVD Lecture of my Desktop ?
Am I supposed to install an additional software on my HP ?
    Haw can I do that  /If any / ?

    Hi Bob,
    Thank you for your reply.
Yes I have tried the CS5 Cleanup Tool - multiple times.  Doesn't help.
I am surprised to hear that you installed with no problems in light of Tech Support being adament that it won't work on Windows 7 and is not supported.
I told Tech that I didn't accept that as there are probably hundreds of thousands of users with CS3 who have installed or tried to install on a Win7 machine and not everyone has hundreds of dollars spare to upgrade.
I only really use DW, PS and Acrobat in the Suite so I'm going to have to save to buy those products but it won't be anytime soon.
    Thanks.
