Unable to query a specific record

I have a form, with these code in when-new-form-instance trigger:
set_block_property('Block_A',default_where, where_clause);
execute_query;
The form is brought up in a query mode, brings the default set of records. But it does not allow me to query a specific record.
Here is what I did:
1. change the value of an 'ID' field in the form and excute the query.
2. a message box comes up asking me if want to save the change.
3. press 'No'. The form brings up the first record of the default set but not the record I am querying on.
I have set the property of the 'ID' filed: query allowed: Yes.
What is wrong here?

I believe your form module is using the WHERE condition set in the When-New-Form-Instance trigger.
When you change ID of the column and want to requery, reset the Block's where condition FIRTST before re-executing the query.

I'm stuck in weird situation. User complaints fetching data from table A is timing-out ( as per application standards). I decided to collect latest statistics(dbms_stats) on index used by query which is running for more than 12 hours. Ideally which should not.It is partition table and got close to 10 millions records.
1) I checked dba_waiters - no rows
2) I checked v$locked_object/v$locks - no rows
3) I'm unable to run explain-plan for any criteria on that table
4) I'm unable to open table data-tab in Toad/ Sql developer.
5) I'm unable to query a single partition; no error but it keeps on running.

Again, anything in alert.log? Any trace files? What happens if you issue:

Unable to query for GL balances

Hi All,
I'm using Oracle EBS R12.1.3. I'm unable to find a gl balance for a specific account. I can see there is information about it into the database but i cannot understand why it is not appearing into the application.
Here are my steps:
1. Navigate to GL Manager responsibility
2. Inquiry > Account
3. Query for specific code combinition
4. No results
I tried with another one and I receive data into the application. I tried to compared them in the database tables - gl_balances, gl_je_headers, gl_je_lines and they looks like similar data (flag, status, etc)
Any ideas?

I ran the account analysis report and i'm able to see the data. Also - I can see this info in the Journals screen in GL. Any ideas why it's not showing in Inquiry > Account?

When Trying to View the Material Distributions for the Transaction Type Sales Order Issue. I am unable to get the accounting entries for the Transaction. On selecting the form the error shows :

Ensure that the cost manager is running (Inventory -> Setup -> Transactions -> InterfaceManager )...and ensure that you are giving the correct date range.
normally you should be able to see distributions as Inv valuation Cr and Deferred Cost of Goods Sold Dr ...
Some times Cost Manager shows as Active but it does not process transaction records, take help from your system administrator/ DBA to get cost manager restarted.

Unable to login to specific apps users in R12.1.3

Dear All,
We have R12 application running on IBM AIX power on machines.
Recently we have faced some hardware problem in the server and after replacement of hardware, we are facing this issue.
"Login failed. Please verify your login information or contact the system administrator."
The root cause of this issues is specific apps users status are inactive.
Hence we are unable to change the password also.
Kindly suggest us to overcome this problem.

We have tried to reset the password using sysadmin but when retyping password in forms shows as "Login failed. Please verify your login information".
Was the change saved successfully to the database?
We have tried to reset the users password using FNDCPASS also but its not showing any error message, even not able to login again.
For both cases you should find more details about the error in the logs (error_log* and access_log* -- Enable debug as mentioned below).
Using sysadmin, when we query the specific users information, it shows that status as "INACTIVE" and even these users are not end-dated.
Are you sure the new password was saved successfully?
I have crosschecked access.log and error.log, there is no information related error.
Are there any errors in the database log file? Any invalid objects?
Please enable debug as per (R12, 12.1 - How To Enable and Collect Debug for HTTP, OC4J and OPMN (Doc ID 422419.1)) and check the logs then.

How to display/navigate to specific record in a table with more then thousand records

Hi,
there is a task that I do not know how can be resolved.
There is a query that returns around 1 - 2 thousand records. And all those records have corresponding weight assigned.
After query executing it is necessary to navigate to the records with the highest weight assigned. It can be first record, it can be a record at the end or in the middle of the row set from thousand records.
I have used "DisplayRow"=selected or the code below, but it does not work properly ... when the record that we navigate is in the middle of record set from 2000 records, then users have to scroll down to it.
And I need to position to that specific record after query is executed.
So I used the code below:

After the code above I getting the row selected or set as a current, but in case of 2000 records, when my record is in the middle of this record set, I need to scroll down to this record to see it.
And I wanted that I will be navigated to my record with records above and below.
What am I doing wrong above?

1. sorting order is already applied and we to position to a specific record in af:table.
From another side the task can rephrased: I need to position to a specific record and I need to be able to show 500 records before and 500 records after.
So where clause can be like:
:bestPosition > position - 500 and :bestPosition < position +500.
2. I tried to apply your second approach and found that record is selected, but I need to scroll to it down. It happens when first 20 records are displayed in af:table and my record is 480 records below ...

Search query returning ALL records

I have a search form for records to display on the same page with keywords highlighted. The search is returning ALL records and highlighting keywords throughout rather than returning specific records with the searched word. What am I missing? I'm sure it's something terribly simple.....

I was using the word "item" as an example for multiple columns without actually naming them - they are not the same. I should've used this example:
SELECT shoes, socks, hats, gloves

In the past, I had four duplicate query parameters for four columns which worked fine. But since I only have one search term, I thought I could eliminate three of the duplicate parameters and use just one with the OR statement.
In the past, you questioned me on this. You stated, "You only have one search term and so all of the parameters have the same value, but DW still wants to creates 4 parameters. If you were coding this by hand you wouldn't do it that way, but DW's one-size-fits-all code generates four seperate parms. It's nothing to worry about."

Unable to query Contingent Workers from Shared HRMS

Client is implement Shared HRMS. Employees and Contingent workers are imported from legacy system. API successfully creates both employee and contingent workers. However the issue is that we are unable to query the contingent workers from the applications.
We are trying two ways to query
1. From Enter and Mainatian Employee window.
Fmb : PERWSEMP
Function : F4 Enter Employee
Result: No records.
2. From HR Foundation Responsbility.
This responsibility has Function named 'Enter and Maintain Contingent Workers', but when try to open this screen it throws exception msg as below
FMB : PERWSQHM
Error msg :
FRM-40735 : ON-ERROR trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-06508.
Any help here will be appreciated.

sorry I can't help you, but have a simular situation.
In my case the page has a lot of Column Attributes. (the query in itself is short)
So it may have something to do with too much info on one page?

Frm- 40505 Unable to query (table does not exist)

Hey,
I have a form which has two blocks that are master and detail blocks. On the form, there are 3 fields that allow the query. If there is record found in the master then it works fine. If nothing found, it shows "query causes no records" which is also fine. But afterwards, no matter what I type in to query, it always show frm-40505. Oracle error, unable to perform query. I click "display error", it shows:
SELECT ROWID,LOC,INV_NUMBER,RECNO,FACTOR,C_DESC,ADJ_TYPE,CODE,AMT FROM OE_INVOICE_ADJ
WHERE (LOC=:1) and (INV_NUMBER=:2) order by recno
frm - 09402:Table or view does not exist.
Here oe_invoice_adj is the detail table and it does exist. If I stop the form and run it again then it's fine. It only happens after "query causes no records".
Any ideas? thanks a lot in advance.

Jay, Have you created public synonym for the tables so that the users don't have to refer the tables with the schema scott.xtable...
and have the users been given the SELECT privilege to those tables....

I actually created the tables and views for my application by logging in as scott/tiger.Now the users I have created with due privileges are just able to log in but unable to perform any query or DML.The error message is FRM 40505'UNABLE TO PERFORM QUERY' which says table or view does not exist.How do I fix this problem?

1 - i wnat to ask few things as i m new to apex, i am using apex 4.1, and created 3 select list and a button in seleting of parameter,
1 select list : select area
2 select list: select product
3- select list - size of the product
i want to generate Ids for the follwing. for that i created query for INSERTING RECORD FROM ONE TABLE TO ANOTHER , generation the ids when button pressed "Generate" after selecting parameters,
Now where i call that QUERY on button ? because when i create button its gives me option to submit, defined dynamic action, etc, pls gudie me where i call the function name id_generation when button pressed?.
2- second thing i creared tabular " select user_id, product_name, product_type from product".
by defualt check box list are create delete submit button are created, first when i insert record it saves that was fine, e.g i entered 50 records and afterward i want to update only one record, e.g there is a record product name = box, if i change it to box small and click submit then it saves all the page means all 50 records,
i want to submit only that record that i changed, for that i use the logic that only those records should be updated which are checked but the user. how will i do this ? where to use the preocess , please guide

If I understand what you are trying to do is correct you could possibly do this by:
Creating and AFTER INSERT trigger on the table based on the tabular form which inserts the record into a seperate table after the record is inserted something like:
CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER copy_records
AFTER INSERT ON table a
REFERENCING NEW AS NEW OLD AS OLD
FOR EACH ROW
DECLARE
BEGIN
INSERT INTO table b
VALUES :NEW.col1, :NEW.col2 etc......
END;
There is also a way that you could do it within the form using a cursor on the tabular form with APEX_APPLICATION.G_ ......

Obviously, syncing an iOS device with iTunes over USB is still supported in Mavericks. Calendar and contact syncing with iTunes is no longer supported. That has nothing to do with your problem.

It's hard to give more specifics without more detail, but in general you're going to need to read in the entire file, split it into three pieces (everything before the record of interest, the record itself, and everything after the record of interest), modify the record, reassemble the three pieces in proper order, and write the whole thing back to the file.Of course if the file is very large you might not want to actually implement it this way, but conceptually at least, this is what you are looking at.If this file some sort of proprietary format?Mike...PS: this type of issue is why I really like databases...

Using index in a query return few records than full table access

Today we have an issue with a query, when it use the ok index the returned are not all records that apply to where clause condition.

the statistics are up to date
the opitimizer_mode are rule, but altering in session level to all_rows happens the same issue.
Nothing about corruption in the alert log.

Yes the query are the same and correct restriction for where clause are M00AD between 136906 and 137141.
I've pasted, by mistake, another test query
The corrects are:
select M00AF, M00za, m00AC , M00AD from movdb.zan_m03 where

This use pk index and return one row

I´ve been searching for wrong results bugs on my oracle support, but not found one that mentions something like our issue.
I checked the dba_tables and dba indexes and the number of rows are different, and I think this would be the same because it's is a pk.
Look this
