Unable to refresh report field definitions in CR XI

My report is using Java Bean class as datasource and the Java Bean class calls a report-specific Java program to return a result set.
In the Field Explorer, I can see the fields of the result set under Database Fields tree.
I modified the Java program to add a new field in the result set; went to Crystal Report Designer, clicked Database menu and selected Verify Database. The program ran without error but I did not see the new field in the Field Explorer.
Can anyone tell me how to refresh the report schema to show the field I added?
The temporary solution is to create a new rpt file, use the Java Bean class to call the modified program to populate the new field along with old ones. However, I am forced to redraw the report layout which is a real pain.
Can somebody help?

After modifying the Java program, have you recompiled your java file?
After recompiling you will need to restart the designer to see reflected changes.

- internal in time means the length of an internal call received by the agent (internal means the call came directly to the agent's phone, it has not been routed by a routing script);
- external out time means the length of a call initiated by the agent off switch (the call goes beyond the horizon visible by the call routing system);
- internal out time means the length of a call initiated by the agent within the same switch (for example agent calls another agent directly).
So, if agent Alice calls agent Bob directly, the Internal Out Time is increased for Alice, and the Internal In Time is increased for Bob.
If agent Alice calls her grandmother in Australia, the External Out Time is increased for her.

Delivers unable to refresh Report through Cache Seed

Hi
I am using delivers to refresh the Oracle BI cache.
I have created a Report & run the report, saved.
Cache was enabled at this moment. Now the report was cahed.
I have created a iBot on this report and sheduled.
After this... i updated one of the values of column in database.
Now i try to schedule the report as i thought that the cache will be refreshed.. for this iam checking the check box "Oracle BI Server Cache" Cache Seeding option present in Destination tab of Delivers. When i fired my iBot at this moment i am unable to get the updated records which means the cache is not refreshing...
Can you explain procedure how to refresh the Oracle BI Server Cache.
What is the Cache seeding..?

Seeding cache means you are employing a mechanism (manual or automatic) to pre-populate the cache entries so your first user(s) don't have to wait for data to be displayed on the screen.
To seed a cache one presumes the cache is empty -- at least for the entries in question. You might have some data that changes yearly ... so you never remove those cache records unless the year is done. You might have daily data that you need purged and re-seeded every morning. You might have such good database query/network/BI Server performance that your users will actually perform the seeding for you (but then it can be argued why have the cache at all); but usually the DB/network/BI Server performance is such that we want to cache data, purging and re-seeding as needed.
Also keep in mind: caching is the LAST step in a comprehensive OBIEE performance strategy.

Unable to refresh report in InfoView or CMC

Hi,
I am using OLE DB (ADO) connection to connect to MS SQL Server 2008 database and able to successfully refresh the report in Crystal Reports 2008 designer.
When I publish the report in BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1, and try to view the report in Info View or CMC, I get the following error message:
u201CThe database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect.u201D
I am using Windows AD authentication to login to BusinessObjects.
Option u201CUse original database logon information from the reportu201D is selected under u201CDatabase Configurationu201D for the report.
Under u201CWhen viewing report: u201C, I have selected u201CUse same database logon as when report is runu201D
Does anyone know what is the resolution for this error message.

Unable to refresh reports in InfoView or CMC

Recently we went from CR10/ePortfolio to CR2008/Infoview. Now when I publish a report to BOEnterprise and try to refresh that report in InfoView or the CMC it fails with the following message: Error: The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect.
The report runs fine from the designer, whether it is run from the network or the Report Application Server (Enterprise). When I publish the report I select the "Use original database logon information from the report" option in the Database Configuration utility. Although, I have tried all of the settings to no avail. The DSN resides on the server as a System DSN and tests successfully.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Fix Pack 1.6 installed?
I ran into issues < Fix Pack 1.3 which resulted in an error similar to this. It landed up being related to the default parameter having a period in it. Can't recall the exact details, not sure if this is applicable to your situation.

USER UNABLE TO REFRESH DISCOVERER REPORT IN DISCOVERER DESKTOP 10g

HELP!!!
A new user is unable to refresh discoverer Reports in Desktop. All priviledges have been granted to username in Disco Admin and Usre is able to log into oracle Apps.
On the PC the user logged into someone else can log into Discoverer Desktop and run/refresh discoverer reports without any issues. Hence Ithink neither the PC nor the Discoverer installation is the problem.
Can anyone help? What setup/profile needs to be completed in order for the user to be able to run Disco reports.
Pls note that the following has been completed:
1. Business Areas Assigned to user and his responsibilities.
2. Desktop/Plus Privileges assigned.
3. Allow administration - DISABLED - NOT TICKED

Does this person just need to run reports? Or does this person also need to create reports? If the person just needs to run reports, try using Viewer for that person, rather than Desktop. This may be something that you need to log a service request with Oracle to get resolved. Pretty strange that can bring items into a new worksheet, but it won't run. Maybe there is an Oracle applications security issue (since logging in as another person does work)? You may be beating your brains out trying to find a Discoverer problem when it might be an application security problem. Though this is a wild guess on my part.

Display Image on report through Field Definitions Only File.

Hi all,
I have a report where I work with Field Definitions Only files (ttx).
These files are mapped to classes in code behind (csharp).
In code behind I make lists of these classes. Each list is set as the datasource of a subreport.
This works great!
My new goal:
Now I tried adding a picture to my report.
In the TTX file I added a BLOB field.
In the code-behind class I added a System.Drawing.Image.
My actual problem:
The class gets filled with the image, but the image is NOT displayed on the report
Does anyone know why this is happening?
How can I fix this? (should I use another Type in my class for the picture?) (should I format the picture in the report? ....)

I can't see the image in the report because I create the image in code-behind.
I think the problem doesn't occur in CrystalReports but in the conversion from my StrokeCollection (I use an InkCanvas [WPF] to capture a signature) to a ByteArray.
I am already one step closer to the solution. You can't just assign an object of type Image to the BLOB field of the report but it has to be a Byte-Array.
The problem I am facing now is that the picture is black after a conversion. (I see this when I export to disk and open the file in MSPaint).
The good thing is that CR shows me a black image so I guess CR is doing its job!

Unable to refresh a report in P21 Activant

We recently upgraded our Activant P21 (Prophet 21) software which includes Crystal Reports. Standard P21 canned reports in their software can be viewed, exported and printed. The P21 software includes a feature to create and link custom reports. We create the custom reports with Crystal Reports 2008 and set up the external report links. We can open, view, print and export the custom reports but when we refresh the report with or without an input parameters, we are prompted for a "Database Login" password. When we enter our password, an error message titled "Crystal Report Windows Forms Viewer" states "Logon Failed. Please try again". We have contacted Activant about this issue and they do not find any errors in the set up. They have told us there is probably an issue with Crystal Reports and asked us to contact your company. We have also contacted a friendly competitor who uses the same Activant P21 software and create custom reports with Crystal Reports 2008 which include user input parameters. Their custom reports work without a glitch. What would prevent us from refreshing a custom Crystal report?

Activant P21 is insisting our issue is a Crystal problem. We are unable to refresh the reports inside their software. We have tried every user id and password we know and it still will not refresh our CR report.
When we use CR2008 to refresh a report, a window opens titled "OLE DB (ADO)" and asks to choose a data source "ODBC Data Source....Choose a data source from the list" We select our ODBC DSN: P21 Live and click next. Another window opens titled "OLD DB (ADO) asking for a password "Connection Information...Provide necessary information to log on to the chosen data source." At this point it does not matter what "User ID" or "Password" we use, the report will refresh. We have used the Adminstrator with a password, we used my user name and password and we used the administrator without a password and in all three instances, the report refreshed with the correct data.
I don't see how this is a Crystal problem unless there is something I am missing. Any help you can provide will be deeply appreciated.

Unable to locate the xml-definition for FieldName with FieldId '1f8a351c-965d-4927-9c22-8772b7089f55' when trying to activate feature with references a custom field type

I´ve a solution which contains a custom field type (found somewhere on the net, the custom field type maps a choice field to managed metadata). There is a second solution which contains site column and site content type definitions using the custom field
type definition from field type solution.
On my developement environment, there is no problem with this two solutions. When field type solution is deployed, i can deploy the content type solution and activate the feature and everything is fine.
However if i give the two solutions to our adminstrator to deploy them into our staging environment, content type feature activation fails. Deploying the field type solution makes no problems. The field type is then available and i can manually creates
columns with this new field type. However activating the content type solution fails with the error shown in the title of this message. The FieldID from the message is not part of my content type project. Searching the net doens´t show any results for that
id. So i think it´s not some of the standard field id´s from sharepoint.
Can anyone help?

Unable to refresh variable definition in ODI Load Plan

Hi All,
We recently removed the variable definition and changed it to default value. After that we tried to refresh the variable in Load plans / Scenarios but it still shows old SQL. Can you please suggest if there is a way to force refresh the variable definitions in load plans? We tried removing and re-adding the variable but that didn't help. Last resort will be to recreate the load plans but we are trying to avoid that.

Thanks for the reply. Actually variable is returning the correct value. Only problem is that in the Load Plan's variable section variable still shows old definition even after trying to refresh n number of times and also tried removing it from load plan and then inserting it back in after changing the definition. We don't want to migrate load plan like this. Kindly suggest.

I am creating a program in Java which has a Database reference application.The Database I am using is MS Access.But whenever I am trying to run the program from DOS Prompt(ie executing the program:java <program name>) I am unable to connenct to the database.The compiling of the program doesn't show any error(ie javac <program name>) The following error is displayed at the DOS Prompt:

i want to generate report for size of folder in KM.I am havingthe following roles content admin,content management,system admin,home, are these roles sufficent to generate report or any roles are needed?

I have been trying to find a solution to the same error message
In my case, the power pivot reports were working before on a regular team site , but then two things changed:
a) I created a toplevel site using the BI Center template. Now I am using a Business Intelligence template , created a power pivot gallery library and uploaded a few powerpivot reports
b) On the  backend, the database instance was upgrated to SQL Server 2012
     Front end Server VDSP01 remains SQL Server 2008 R 2 where Sharepoint 2010 was installed as a FARM
Now, the reports will display in sharepoing however they will not refresh. the error message i get is the same.
Scenario recap:
a- Server VDSP01 uses SQL Server 2008 R 2 where Sharepoint 2010 was installed as a FARM
b- On the back end, the database instance name was replaced with SQL 2012 Server:
         from SQL Server 2008 R 2 (instance DBDEV-COTS\COTS)
           to     SQL Server 2012 ( instance VTSQL01\COTS)
c-  I was told that:
     From VDSP01, they ran
CliConfg.exe to create SQL Server Alias :
       where    BEFORE: vdsharepoint --> DBDEV-COTS\COTS
            and AFTER    : vdsharepoint --> VTSQL01\COTS

Sub report linking definition based on result, not on parameter value

Dear all,
I have created a report with CR 2008 SP6. The parameters from the referring BI query are period and customer. After the user enter parameter values, the report provides then Customer and product information.
I have add a sub report with additional information for product. I can transfer the parameter value (user input) for Customer to the sub report, but not for product, due to the fact that in the main report Product is not selected as parameter, but is a result set after the report is executed.
Is there a way to define in the Sub report linking exactly these result values of Product as new parameter for the sub report.
In the sub report linking definition I only see the possibility of defining the parameter as linking object, but not the report result set. See also the screenshot.
Any idea would be great. Best regards,

Hi Stefanos,
Where is the Subreport placed on the report?
Do you have a prompt in the Subreport for 'product'?
If yes, then here's open the 'Change Subreport Links' window > Move the Product field to the Pane on the right > From the drop down at the bottom left that says 'Subreport parameter field to use', choose the Product prompt.
If you don't have a prompt for product in the Subreport, then just move the Product field to the Pane on the right > From the drop down at the bottom right that says 'Select data in Subreport based on field', choose the Product field from the drop-down.
