Unable to stop pump process

Hi,
I tried to stop the extract(pump process in middle tier) using the below command.
stop EXTRACT1
and it is giving the below error
ERROR: EXTRACT EXTRACT1 not currently running.
But current extract status is showing as running as mentioned below, not sure why the extract not showing stopped status and not stopping. If you have any clue please share with me.

The PID for the pump process is inside a plain text file in directory "dirpcs"; extract processes have suffix ".pce", so the file name for pump extract1 would be "dirpcs/extract1.pce". (replicats are pcr, manager is pcm.) Sometimes a process can die and manager isn't able to clean up (delete) this file, but it is this file that is being used to report whether the process is running or not.
Check the contents of the file, verify the PID (process ID) is not running, and simply delete the file "extract1.pce". The process should no longer show as running. There could be something wrong with the system that may cause this to happen again; if that's the case, you can try to run extract directly from the shell and see why it's dying.

I have setup a UCM CMS server on Linux. In the UCM instaance I setup If I go to Admin Server, the Genral configuration page contains no entry. While the file Config.cfg present in the directory Oracle/UCM/Server/Config/ contains all the entries I provided during the setup.
Now when I am trying to start/stop the UCM instance, it is giving me error " Request Failed : Unable to alter the process. Unable to execute action 'stop' on server 'EBIZ_UCM'." While If I try to restart the server using IdcServer present at the location Oracle/UCM/Server/bin/, it is getting started.
While clicking on the Component Manager, its giving error like :
" Unable to retrieve component data. Components.hda exists, but contains no data. ".
Please suggest.

I know this is an old thread, but I ran across this while having a similar problem. It turned out that I had started the admin server incorrectly (e.g. running /apps/oracle/ucm/server/admin/bin/IdcAdmin instead of /apps/oracle/ucm/server/admin/etc/idcadmin_start). Once I corrected that the problem went away.

I (quite honestly) am one of those folks that generally do not read the KB articles associated with a patch or UR or SP - as you don't expect details like have been put into this particular one.
But as Kristian pointed out - within that KB article is the SQL script that modifies / updates this SQL Stored Procedure.

My first advice is "Back up the device, then have it replaced." Second item of advice, "Don't forget your passcode."
One of the purposes of the lock button is to recover from certain software failures. Without the lock button, such a recovery is nearly impossible. My advice would have served you best when the malfuction first developed, not after you forgot your passcode.

Unable to open PS Elements 11 once closed without Stopping the process in Task Manager

Photoshop Elements 11 will not open once closed unless I either stop the Process in Task Manager or reboot the computer. I have tried setting the program to run in Administrator mode but this did not work. I am running the program on a 64 bit Windows 7 laptop, the process I need to close each time is usually "Photoshop Elements Editor exe*32'?"

PUMP process is Running. Not generating message in report.No replication

I am using GoldenGate 11g with Oracle database 11g on IBM AIX server at source and Linux at destination.
I have created the extract process and the pump process but the pump process is not responding.
The report of my PUMP process is as below. I can't see any run time messages getting generated in it. Even the replication is not happening.
Please suggest how to search for the issue here and get the replication working.

SharePoint Foundation Sandboxed Code Service - Unable to activate worker process proxy object within the worker process

Issue:
On a vanilla installation, the sandboxed code service (e.g. SPUCHostService.exe) is started; however, SPUCWorkerProcessProxy.exe and subsequently SPUCWorkerProcess.exe fails to start.
Resolution/Workarounds attempted:
Attempted 2 different Load balancing settings – local and remote (i.e. affinity)
Ensured local computer policy on server for ‘RPC Endpoint Mapper Client Authentication’ and ‘Restrictions for Unauthenticated RPC clients’ is disabled.
Ensured following key in registry is set properly - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\RPC
Attempted to bypass SharePoint’s check for certificate revocations at crl.microsoft.com
Ensured the service account is added to the respective groups (e.g. Performance Log Users, Performance Monitor Users, IIS_IUSRS, WSS_ADMIN_WPG, WSS_WPG)
Increased limit of ‘AbnormalProcessTerminationCount’ of SPUserCodeService via Powershell

For resolving your issue , you can do as the followings:
1. Logged into the Web Server with the Timer Service Account.
2. Ran the powershell command to check the SID of the account running the spucworkerprocessproxy.exe:
$(Get-SPManagedAccount -Identity "THE SERVICE ACCOUNT").Sid.Value
3. Checked the registry :
HKEY_USERS\[SID OF THE SERVICE ACCOUNT]\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WinTrust\Trust Providers\Software Publishing\State
4. Changed the value 0x00023c00 to 0x00023e00

OAS Startup OWS-08820: Unable to start oassrv process 'oassrv'.

Dear OAS Product Manager, Oracle fellows & Developer Guys,
I am using Win NT 4.0 Server, Servie Pack 5 (1280)
on Intel Pentium III 550MHz PC - 256MB ram.
8GB Hard Disk 1 with C,D,E,F drives and
another 4GB Hard Disk with G,H drives,
all with FAT.(I have got Win98 in C:)
I have got:
1) Oracle8 (8.0.4) at D:\ORANT
2) Devloper2000 at D:\ORANT
3) Oracle8i (8.1.6) at G:\Oracle8i
4) JDeveloper 3.1 at F:\JDeveloper 3.1
Then I installed OAS 4.0.8.1 at F:\OAS (after closing
all running Oracle processes) with the "Complete" option.
After reboot, I logged into the Oracle Application
Server Manager, and tried to start "ALL" as mentioned in the
documentation. I got the following message:

Check if there is no a pid or trace or any file that is created during the start of this kind of process and remove it and try again. As well you may check if there is a java process from the console kill it and start it.

- Windows 2003 Server _ host "tpt"
- SQL Server 2000 SP3 _ new Instance "MYSAP". Collation is already set to "SQL_Latin1_General_CP850_BIN2".
Sapinst ran well on all input data steps.
Next it applied from steps

Unable to stop Windows Server Backup

WSE2012. Backup regularly hangs while trying to back up one of our server disks to an external usb drive. Both source and destination drives check out ok - no fragmentation, disk errors, plenty of free space. Tried to Stop the backup gracefully
via the UI by right-mouse clicking the server listed in Dashboard>Devices tab and choosing Stop backup... but this is unable to stop it.
Tried to stop the block level backup engine service exe (wbengine.exe) but it appears to be orphaned and unkillable.
Task Manager shows wbengine.exe is running, so I've tried doing these things from an elevated command prompt:
1. wbadmin stop job -- this returns The process could not be terminated. There is no running instance of the task.
2. TASKKILL /F /IM wbengine.exe - same error message as above.
Short of rebooting the machine or unplugging the usb drive (which sometimes works but leads to data corruption), how can the backup be stopped and restarted?

Thank you but no such luck. We're running Windows Server 2012 Essentials and we don't have 3rd-party software running on the server except for BackupAssist. We started with wbadmin, have moved to trying BackupAssist (BA), now am working with
their support team. Latest suggestion is to go back to native Windows Server Backup. But I have seen this issue before we installed BA. I will wait until we duplicate the problem there before responding here again, but my best solution is
to either unplug the backup drive (forcing a cancellation) or reboot the server. This has really got us baffled.

Select each one and Force Quit it.
But be careful there are many processes that are run by the OS that if quit will cause problems possibly even crash the system.

How to stop message processing based on validation?

Hello experts,
I have a requirement to stop message processing in the graphical mapping based on validation results. Here is the scenario - messages are translated using graphical mapping and sent to the target system. An RFC lookup will be done to ECC to determine if the data in the message is good. If the lookup returns a negative result, message processing should be stopped right there.
I guess we can throw an exception from the mapping to force a failure and stop further processing, but that will cause the message to show up as failed on SXMB_MONI and cause alert emails to be sent out in PROD. Another option will be to supress creation of the root node itself, but I think the message will then fail in the subsequent "call adapter" step if the target schema has a min occurence of 1 for the root node (as in the case of IDocs).
Is it possible to do it without using BPM?

If your requirement, to stop message processing without sending an alert?
If yes, then you can have a alert rule, not to trigger alerts on a failure (And to raise an exception based on the result from RFC loookup).
If your requirement is not to make the message fail, then you have to go for the ccBPM route.

Looks like something may have been hung. Kill any process still running after a shutdown of opmn and then delete any left over pids files in the states directory. After that you can do a opmn startall.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO STOP THE PROCESS CHAIN WHICH IS RUNNING DAILY AT 5.00 PM. I NEED TO STOP THE PROCESS CHAIN FOR COUPLE OF DAYS AND THEN RESTART IT AGAIN.
cAN ANYONE TELL ME THE PROCEDURE TO STOP THE ENTIRE PROCESS CHAIN RUNNING IN THE PRODUCTION.

Hi,
First and foremost let me advice you to be very careful while doing this.
For Rescheduling
RSPC> chain > Goto > Planning view and
click on Execution tab > select > Remove from Schedule and then in Maintain variant of start process reschedule for the day you require it to run.
For terminating active chain
You can start from SM37, find the process WID/PID then go to SM50 or SM51 and kill it. Once its done come back to RSMO and check the request, it should be red but again manually force to red and save by clicking on the total status button in the status tab. This shuld ensure that the process is killed properly.
The next step will be to go to targets that you were loading and remove the red requests from those targets.
Note: For source system loads you may have to check if the request is running in the source system and kill if needed and pull it again.
But for BW datamart delta loads u may have reset the datamarts in case u are going to pull the delta again.

Dear Friends,
How to stop the process chain showing status as yellow but no process step is running in that process chain.
We have manually triggered the process chain for sales it finished successfully till load data but the next step is create index and DB statistics. Both of this steps are in unscheduled position only and no background job for this.
Please guide me.

At times even I have faced this situation. During those times, running the Function module RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH by passing the right parameters came to my rescue.
