Unending microphone problem- Creative please assist- this is getting redicul

Problem:
When I play online games, namely HalfLife mods but others are effected the same way, my voice is completely garbled. I am told I sound like I am underwater. The Windows hardware test gives fair results, I can hear my voice but it is not crystal clear and sounds a bit "digital" (Yes, the digital output option is turned off).
What I have:
SoundBlaster Li've! 24-Bit
HP 725N
2400+ Althalon XP
52Meg Memory
447Meg residual Memory (after graphic sharing)
Nvidia 64meg GeForce MX onboard graphics card
What I have tried:
. Going through and tweaking every last setting I have in the Contol Panel and the game related to sound and voice recording.
2. Updating BIOS including disabling onboard sound
3. Turning down the acelleration on my graphics card
4. Updating drivers for everything (sound and graphics)
5. Swapped out 3 different microphones
6. Turning off every running process unrelated to graphic or sound to free additional memory/bandwidth
Someone... anyone... please help. I purchased this card to upgrade my sound from the on-board card but all I have accomplished is to ruin something that was previously working fine!

So when you record using a normal program (like Wavestudio or the basic Windows Recorder), is the sound distorted (so not crystal clear, but "digital" sounding) aswell?
Have you tried fully uninstalling the soundcard, moving it to another PCI slot and then reinstalling? Just in case there is a conflict with other hardware or onboard resources. Disable programs loaded in the background aswell, all of them, to see if it hel
ps.
If it does you can start them up or re-enable them one by one to see when it goes wrong again.
Otherwise I would recommend you contact Customer Support, so they can give you specific tailored support, and go through all the options, settings and configuration with you to see what could be causing this.

If the above doesn’t do the trick entirely, then use the instructions in the following as it applies to the version of Windows you are using:
HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP

You may be required to boot into safe mode to complete the folder deletion process.

You have a few options:
1- Increase the Buffer Size in the Logic Devices Preferences to the maximum (1024)
2- Freeze some Tracks with CPU intensive plugins
3- Buy a faster computer

Strange vlan configuration problem. Please assist.

We created a new IC to our building that I installed two 2950_48 that are stacked together. Off from one of the 2950 is a fiber that runs back to a 3548XL switch for our trunk connection. I configured trunk on both ends and set vlan 2 as our native vlan. However when I look at interface vlan 2 on the 2950_48 it is showing Vlan up and line protocol down. Now here comes the strange part- on the 2950_48, I able to configure each port for different vlan that we have in our infrastructure but only one vlan can be carried over the trunk. None of the other vlan seems to be working at all. The traffic of the working vlan has no problem at all with network communication. The other thing is that I can't get to my 2950s switch for management from telnet or SSH only console works. Obviously because my VLAN 2 is down. Please assist. Thanks.

looking at your configurations, I think you need to add the native VLAN statement to the trunk ports on your 3548:
interface GigabitEthernet0/1
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 2
switchport trunk pruning vlan none
switchport mode trunk

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 2

If that does not help, can you post the output of ´show vtp status´ of both switches ? When you look at the output, make sure that the VTP version, domain name (case-sensitive) and password match.

Airport Extreme and DYNDNS problem - TESSERAX PLEASE READ THIS

I've a problem with the configuration of an airport base station with dynamic DNS.
I followed the advice of TESSERAX here, but without success: airport does not connect to DynDNS and does not update the IP address.

Days ago I was able to run DYNDNS but with completely different parameters, as described here (scroll to the middle, at the chapter: "Setup Your Dynamic Global Hostname in the AirPort or Time Capsule") :

Unfortunately, after making some changes in the airport configuration (which is abolutely not related to the DYNDNS), this has stopped updating the IP. I've tried to restore the configuration, reflash ecc but without success.
This is my configuration:
- PC Windows XP-SP3 running AirPort Utility 5.5.3 (FWIW there is an annoying bug that prevents you from writing the dot "." in the hostname field, the only solution is to use the copy-paste).
- AirPort Extreme with 7.6 firmware ( 7.6.1 also available but I've read that isn't much better)
I also own an AirPort Express 2nd gen with 7.6.2 firmware, I've tried to use this in the place of airport extreme but idem, no success.

Yes, I referred to the part #2 of your guide but I've also read many of your other posts about it. In fact, let me thank you for your willingness, it's people like you that make the web a better place.
I also spent a good part of the night reading all the other threads on DynDNS but without success.
As for my DynDNS account, this is obviously a free account. The host name is like "<pc-name>.dyndns.org" as the user name using my email address (with or without domain "@ gmail.com" works anyway).

In desperation, I also called a friend who lent me his Netgear modem/router, which supports DynDNS: well, it was enough to enter hostname, username and password so that everything started to work perfectly.
I am truly saddened
There's also an odd thing I don't understand: if I press the CTRL key and EDIT simultaneously in the AirPort window, appear three other fields... What are these?

You should be syncing at about 4 Meg. The reason you are not is that the DLM system has put you on a banded profile in response to past errors on your line, the lowest of these Banded Profiles, altho' you now have no significant errors. You need to call EE to reset the DLM in order to remove any banding. However should significant errors persist the DLM will reapply banding.

I don't understand why Apple exaggerate about their products for example isight. When we read about isight before we bought it, i thought WoW, it must be great but when we use it, it only make us upset and nervous. Isight for 149 only for a single chat? Silly.
My friend in Switzerland and i in Netherland bought two imac G5 20" with isight and memory update, etc and we both have ADSL connection. All information on Apple website about isight was perfect, but since we use it, both of us never have had good quality of video and audio, video chat with ichat is only possible for .mac users, so i can't use my isight to chat with my other MSN friends, because ichat doesn't accept MSN users, so you should be very lucky to have a few friends who only use isight and ichat to be able to have a video conference. I called a few times to helpdesk about isight, ichat, and other programs which should work as usual and standard like Windows, but mostly they couldn't help me, they even don't advise which program you should better use. So now what am i supposed to do with my beautiful isight, ichat, etc, etc? It would be nice if they could give correct information about their products on the mac website and not only positive things.
I don't want to discuss about this subject, it's only my opinion and experience with ichat and isight. But i am sure there are many people there who have the same opinion as me. I prefer to keep using my Windows PC and simple webcam, but always sutisfied.

Follow Bill's advice if you no longer want your iSight. However, if you still want to try to make it work, here are some things you can try.
iChat AV works well for most of us the first time and with varying amounts of trials, configuration, and setup effort for others. Here are my suggestions for new users who are having difficulty making iChat AV work: Using iSight with iChat AV.
If your want audio / video chat, follow those suggestions to get going.
If you want
b ONLY
text chat, you can certainly use MSNM for Mac or some of the other available text IRC, Chat & Instant Messaging client software applications.

I just purchased this notebook and when I tried to use Skype, everything works except the other person can't hear me. Mic is enabled and not muted. Internal Mic (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC). I have read your post on how the microphone on your notebook is enabled, but will not record any audio on Skype. I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
Are you able to record audio using a different program on your computer? Were you able to record audio from Skype in the past?
In the meantime, I recommend following the steps in this document on Resolving microphone problems (Windows 8). This should help enable the audio-in when using the microphone.
Additionally, I also suggest following this resource on Microphone Troubleshooter to ensure that your Skype software is communicating the audio being transmitted to your audio-in device.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, as well as the requested information above. I look forward to your reply!

I have problem with my volume slider. It works fine for, like 7 to 6 hours. Then, the problem of volume slider started to occur. Every time I adjust the volume slider it slides back to where it was. My problem is when I am using my phone hooked up through the headphones in my car, every now and then the volume will slide on its own either all the way up or all the way down and the volume picture will be stuck on. The only way to stop this is to turn the phone off and then back on. It doesn't happen all the time and I guess I am too lazy to call Apple or go to a store and my question still has not been answered on this forum. Up until now I have not heard anyone else having this problem and yours is very close to what I am experiencing but at the same time different. Can you please assist me in getting credit on numbeous itune charges? I have spoken with 3 representatives that expressed that I would be refunded for this charges. I was told to be patient because the process would take 7-10 days. It have now been over a month and I have only been recieved credit for a portion of the charges.

hi, i am new to java MIDlet and I am not really having any luck to get it started. I am running the newest version of NetBeans IDE. I have downloaded some MIDlet code from the sun site. However, when I pasted it onto the NetBean, the line

alone with the next few lines have a red underline and a x next to it. Am I misssing some libaries or setting the wrong class path? If so how can I fix this? But the thing is that it compiles and run under most of the emulators. However, when i set the defualt to the most important emulator that I needed, the Palm OS one, it gives me this message:
A descriptor must be specified for MIDP-Palm.
What does this means? Please I need to know what I need to do to fix this. Also where are the compiled .java files? I looked everywhere but they were no where to be found. I am new to this so I need step-by-step instructions on how to fix those problems. Please help this newbie to get started. Thank you in advance.

CREATIVE LABS READ THIS MICROPHONE ISSUE PLEASE!!!

i am having the exact same problem and i'm no compu-dummy .. this soundblaster li've 24-bit card just ruined my studio i have built in my house. i have so much equipment and i can't do anything with it because of this card i just bought. i really want it to work so bad but i cannot find the solution to my problem anywhere. i have researched high and low. i have read countless.. and by countless i mean hundreds upon hundreds of forum posts on the google boards, the creative boards, music boards, internet media boards, and boards that don't even have a purpose.. of thousands of people complaining that their soundblaster li've cards WILL NOT RECORD.
to be more specific, the card plays audio fine. plug an /8" speaker cord into the audio out.. and sound comes out of the speaker. plug a mic (and i've tried 4 different mics) directly into the mic in or line in, and you get a flat-line in windows sound recorder (as well as 4 or 5 more sophisticated programs i've tried).
my system is very comparable to the systems of most people having this problem: windows XP, P4 w/ HT, former sound usage (in my case onboard.. and yes, i've disabled my onboard in the BIOS), 52mb DDRam, fx 5900 video card w/ 28 mb, DirectX 9.0, Microsoft Service Pack , and a nice little useless at the moment CreativeLabs Li've! 24-bit soundcard.
every posting (if it has a response) is receiving the same responses that we've all tried: is input set to mic? is your mic input turned up? are there audio device conflicts in device manager? have you tried reinstalling? have you tried a different mic? is your computer turned on?
myself and countless others have double checked and triple checked all of these.. it is not the obvious but it is definatly a problem if more than a handful of people are experiencing it. i tried the creative tech support number.. the rep's only idea was to return my card for a new one.. i'm sorry, i don't think it's the card.. because there is also a few thousand people that the card does work for, while at the same time mine doesn't as well as a few thousand others.. i'm not going to waste my time hiking back to Best Buy because that simply isn't the problem.. it's too common of a problem, but it is a problem that i have not seen addressed by Creative in all of my searching.
is there anybody out there who has a clue what could possibly be causing this. please don't let this be yet another posting that gets response saying.. "duuuuh.. ummm... did you press record on sound recorder?" and then the post dies out and falls into the oblivion of other posts just like it.
please for god's sake is there a moderator or an executi've or a janitor at Creative Labs who knows the solution? because please, post it so i can create a few hundred websites linking directly to it ending the suffering of budding musicians and gamers such as myself.

Hopefully this will help some of you, I have actually found the solution to my own problem, though it is a little twisted and doesn't seem to apply to other's scenarios. Here's what I did.
) Completely removed all Creative software/drivers
2) Flashed my BIOS. I don't think it needed to be flashed, just resetted. But I flashed it anyway.
3) Rebooted and installed only the Creative drivers and required software (none of the little extras like mixer or CD-Burner or any of that.. just the diagnostics tool and whatnot)
4) Plugged my mic into Line-In (the blue /8" jack on the far right on my model), selected mic (not line-in) as the recording source.
Voila!! I'm getting crystal-clear recordings and sound! I kind of wish Creative had helped me along with this instead of sending me emails suggesting procedures i specifically stated I had already tried. But you can't have everything. A nice piece of hardware and good customer service is a little much to ask for.
As a whole. I give Creatives help in this matter a 4 out of 0. And all 4 points are awarded solely because response times from my e-mail were quite satisfactory. It just would have been nice if they had researched my problem a little more instead of assuming I was having the same problem as compu-clue-less idiots.
I will continue to monitor this forum for a while and will be glad to offer any knowledge I have gained through this past week of hell to anyone who is still having problems after trying the steps mentioned in the techs emails, and the steps I took myself.

You can right click the tab and choose "Close Tab" to close a tab.
Some menu entries are hidden by default and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu.
You can see the difference if you use Alt+F or Alt+B to open the "File" and "Bookmarks" menu and compare that to what you see if you use the mouse to open the menu after you have made the menu bar visible by pressing Alt or by pressing F10.
Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
