Unexpected Problem - NSinternalinconsistency

Hi guys, my name is Matt, I'm new to the forum, but glad to see some useful posts. I've been having a lot of trouble with STP 2.02, and are especially annoyed by this message:
"An Unexpected Problem NSinternalinconsistency Exception
Invalid Parameter not satisfying: startPoint"
It pops up quite often when I try to move audio files (generally .aiff, sometimes .wav) around in the project timeline, sometimes not allowing you to move the files, sometimes crashing, and causing erratic behaviour (e.g. sounds playing a good time before the playhead crosses their audio region in the timeline!)
Quite obviously this makes it v. hard to sync up SFX to visual effects.
Other variances of the error message are:
"NSinternalinconsistency Exception'
Invalid parameter not satisfying:
EQUAL_POSITIONS (next point position, section position)"
and:
"NS Range Exception
*-[NSCF Array obect Atindex:]:
index (2147483646) beyond bounds (3)"
Other probs have been channel inserts magically resetting themselves after getting the EQ just right or limiter settings etc ...
I do post production sound design work, and am working on a relatively large project, and generally have a video file playing whilst I work (to sync SFX etc etc...) But these errors are making it very difficult to get any kind of real work done ...
Can anyone help ? I saw the posts about enabling fonts, but they were all enabled already ... Any kind of feedback or info would be great !!!

OSX 10.4.11 Dual 2.3 Ghz PPC G5 - 2 Gb DDR2 SDRAM
It is a real shame cos it looks like STP has some great features, just that it seems so buggy and inconsistent that it's hard to get it stable.

I have not experienced this issue myself, there are no Apple support docs on it, and I can't find anything on Google. It looks like an issue unique to your system setup.
All I can suggest is making sure all the latest patches are installed, then trash preferences. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the entire Final Cut Studio suite. It could be an issue caused by an upgrade install (if that's what you did).

I dragged some jpegs into iphoto for import
The jpegs were dated 2002 and named tom001.jpg etc.
While importing they caused iphoto to unexpectantly quit
When iPhoto is relaunched it begins to load photos and quits after 15 seconds
Seems like it may still be trying to import
I have deleted out of the library (thumbnails and originals) the photos that were imported
I have tried rebuilding the database but iPhoto continues to quit
I have rebuilt the thumbnails (long and short version)
I have used disk utility to repair disk permissions
I have tried all of the below from this apple support link

Additionally I Have created a new user and imported the suspect photos. I photo is now stable. Also I pointed the new account to a duplicate of the damaged library to a external drive. Can not se roll names. Rebuilding small icons as a experiment.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that's in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the first three options.
See if either of those will help.

Unexpected problem: uncaught exception when working with audio files in Soundtrack Pro

Hey,
Whenever I double click an audio file in the timeline to work on it, I end up getting the Error message: "Unexpected problem: uncaught exception" and Soundtrack Pro eventually crashes. Also, this happens when I try to work with audio files in the file editor. I have Leopard and am using Logic Studio 8. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks

Didnt know how to remove the original clip from the STP arrange window - or whatever it's called in STPro. So I could go no further in my perverse science experiment.
It also appeared that I could only import an aif but not a wav?
I gave up on STPro and did what I needed to do in Logic, which I use regularly.

PS. I used to use an old PowerPC version (1.0.3) of STPro and loved the way it visually showed the change in the waveform when you added each efffect. It appears that the new version (3.0.1) does not allow you to do this anymore? You can render or flatten the effects to see the final waveform, but then you are dead in the water and cant make changes?
Im such a newbie at STPro that I am probably not using it right?

Unexpected problem with this printable

Started by trying to stop the printing of the "Samples" printable that was acquired accidentally. Tried directions found in the forums to no avail. Tried through the HP Go manageprint route and never saw the minus sign in the printable header as described. Trying on the control panel of the printer, I get to the "Select activity" option and select the "Schedule it" icon. Loading....then error message: "There was an unexpected problem with this printable. Please try again later." I also had problems previously connecting to web services when I tried to scan a document to my email address (which I have done many time previously successfully). Performed wireless network test and all results were good. Something is screwed up. Any assistance is appreciated.

I suspect the whole setup is "not quite right" and that is not your fault -- it is a multi-step process and if it does go well the first time around, it can seem like the size 14 is a solution to fit the need. I do not have an answer - know that. The print App is stuck, no doubt about that. I will try and help you straighten out the setup; understand I am not a Printer Expert. Not. This may make it worse. You might want to call Cloud Services if you can do so... SideBar:At the least, the Snapfish bits may be just one more worm in the bucket of troubles - at this point, you might as well Click Reset Snapfish -- frankly, while used to understand what Snapfish is and why it might be on the printer panel, I have never heard of Snapfish Country. Final note about Snapfish -- if you ever get into some sort of evil loop about logging into (creating) your HP Connected Account and it is offing something about Snapfish account -- saying you have to have the Snapfish account or you can just die and never be able to log into your HP Connected Account: Give the program what it wants --- it is a bug. Create the Snapfish account and you will be able to get in. I did not write the program. I did not create the bug. I may have done some stupid things when I wrote code in my life -- this one is not mine. Smiling. You can "reset" at least the "web services" by simply disabling Web Services on the printer front panel. This is perhaps a good plan all things considered; you might read first and then decide. The one thing I have noted is that I have never had had any luck resetting, redoing, or entering much of anything from a printer panel. I lack the patience to type on tiny panels. I do know the Printable / Print App has to be "scheduled", that is, active before it can be cancelled. So, if it is in some sort of zombie state of half-life, you may want log in to your HP Connected account and make sure the Print App is "active" -- then try to kill it. Also -- see the note below about the Safari browser -- there may be other browsers (Chrome??) that do not handle the HP Connected account management page setup. There are several parts to the whole "ePrint" business. The following might be useful to help you make sure you have your setup in place.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Reference:Add Device to Printer See Section:Computer gets Full Feature Software (Printer Software)If you are printing from a mobile device on the same (home) network, then you probably have a home computer in the mix (on that same network). Could someone help please.

Hello everyone. I am running STP 2.0 (the whole studio) on a powermac G5 dual processor. I have 4 gb's of ram.
I have this problem where after so many times of saving a file, it starts to give me an error and I can no longer save the file. This is what I get:
Unexpected Problem
NSInternal parameter not satisfying: buffer != nil
It is driving me crazy because I spend hours working and then I can't save my file!!!!
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

HT201250 Unexpected problem with Mac time machine!

Hi every one!
I'm having an unexpected problem with my time machine! the moment I hook up the back up drive my Mac crashes and the only thing I can do is to force restart. I'm not sure if the problem is with the back up disk or the Time Machine itself. I've successfully used the app since now and this just happens! I can neither access the disk in finder nor fix it by disk utility... would you please help me?
PS. the disk is encrypted, I doubt that might be causing the problem?!

Launch the Console application by entering the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Enter the name of the crashed process in the “Filter” text field. Post the messages from the time of the last crash, if any -- the text, please, not a screenshot.
Then, still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash logs related to the process. Select the most recent one and post the contents -- again, not a screenshot. For privacy’s sake, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)

Hmm... Ok, so I took that project and tried importing it to a new project, still with no luck. Then I tried taking that project and creating a new timeline by dragging one of the stills to the new item icon so that I'd get whatever PrPro decided was the best timeline, and still no luck. Then I tried creating a new project and importing different footage and it worked. Tells me perhaps there's something wrong with the stills? I know not to use overly-large stills in a project, but they're all around 4k resolution or smaller... so surely that's not too big, right? 412 stills total 1.5GB which means an average of about 2.5 MB per file... certainly not too big. I even had a couple video clips in the timeline that were shot with a point-and-shoot still camera, and I tried taking those out just in case it was something in those, and still no success.
So, ultimately this project got exported without CUDA, and I'm okay... but I also am wondering what caused the problem? I do a fair amount with stills (not a lot, but enough) and I need it to work... do I just go on with life, assuming that it was some weird fluke? Or do I try a complete wipe and reinstall of OS and Programs?
Oh, one other tidbit... whenever PrPro crashed and closed, the application itself wouldn't close. I have to go into the program manager and force quit it...
Thoughts? Recommendations?

PSE 11 encounters an unexpected problem and closes every time I click create slideshow

I just downloaded PSE 11 and I am experiencing the same problem I had with PSE 9. Every Time I try to open create slideshow the program "encounters an unexpected problem and must close".
The only other "create" I have tried is photocollage and it opened without problem. Any chance this could be a conflict with my Kaspersky security software or some other program? My first version
was 4.0 and the create slideshow worked fine when first installed, then after I installed a workaround from the forum after encountering a problem. But I could never get create slideshow to open in
PSE9 and now again in 11.

Export PDF won't upload, says "unexpected problem" what gives?

I just purchased the Export PDF and the document I want to upload is 22MB, so size shouldn't be the issues. It comes up as "Failed to Export" -- There was an Unexpected Problem" Please help as this is really pissing me off! Thanks. mm

I have found that whether the export works or fails depends on which network I am connected to. The difference between the tested networks have been the firewall rules. Typically company networks vs broadband modems over GPRS/UMTS where the first one fails while the last one succeeds. I would suggest you 1) specify what ports are in use by Export PDF, 2) put this into the requirements for the service, 3) make available support articles with this information and 4) update the error-handling in the program to give the user a more helpful and understandable error message.
PS! Another suggestion: Why not change the program to use ports that is (in 99%) always open through firewalls?

Apologies for the vague and nebulous subject line but that's exactly what I am getting from ExportPDF! Seriously, I signed up today primarily to get this one important file converted and the first time I tried it, I got the vague error "There was a problem converting your file". The second I retried it looked like it was working and then just stopped (the diagonal striped line disappeared).
Then file is 38 megs in size so that may or may not have something to do with it. I am hoping I can get some tech assistance from Adobe on this one. Getting one file converted would make my entire year subscription worth it.
Update: the error message was actually "there is an unexpected problem". :-(
I am using the ExportPDF interface.
Under Adobe Reader when I check the document and go to File->Properties, I see .....

I ** DO ** need editable text if that's possible. Barring that I see my first act with Adobe ExportPDF is to dispute the charge fee for this service. So many people experiencing "unexpected problems" and no answers in the forum. I hope Adobe can get it's act together with support before 100% instituting their grand plan to go cloud only. :-(
Update again: I did find a link to submit the file directly to Adobe but ALAS! While I can upload a file up to 100 megs, I can only send them a file of up to 20 megs. Wow, Adobe! Congratulations on not thinking this staggeringly obvious issue through.

Pat I don't know how to connect to you another way so am jumping into this comm here..!! Firstly to say thanks for assistance about a week ago that fixed my primary problem... then the secondary problem somehow disappeared on it's own after a few days.

I have been trying to export a document, but keep getting an "unexpected problem" message. Is this because of the size of the document (e-book), the text (17th century print Latin) or the network I'm using? Please let me know; I purchased this program for this project alone. I have tried it with several volumes of this description, with no luck on any of them.
