Unique problem for FireFox 3.5, Flash and nginx

The very simple code is on this page http://www.vuka.com/media/swf/vuka.html
All it does is run a flash movie (it does use a skin). If the skin is missing it plays fine.
If after the page has finished loading I hit refresh in Firefox it plays fine.
If I use Internet Explorer it plays fine.
If I run it under my django development server it runs fine for both Firefox and IE.
When I run it on webfaction (the production server) where the file is served up by nginx and the cache has been cleared it does not run in Firefox..
All tests done with Flash 10 (under linux and windows for Firefox). If the skin file is missing it plays (no controls) under the Firefox browser.
I checked the loading order. It does trequest the skin prior to requesting the movie, but I do not know if it finishes grabbing the skin before starting to receive the movie.
I believe the problem maybe that firefox needs to (or should) load all of the skin file before trying to load/play the movie file. The Django developmental server is probably only sending one file at a time, while the nginx tries to send both files.
Any ideas how I can force Firefox (in javascript) to load the skin file completely, before grabbing the movie file? Currently I'm loading everything with a  AC_FL_RunContent command     .
Thanks,
Paul

Sorry, Firefox 3.5 isn't supported by Mozilla any longer.

  • RoboForm Lite no longer works for Firefox 17 windows 7 and server 2008r2

    Greetings,
RoboForm Lite no longer works for Firefox 17 windows 7 and server 2008r2 I tried to reinstall but none of the tabs function . Thank you for your assistance

    '''roboform_firefox:'''
The original poster (OP) reported his/her OS as Windows 7 in the body of the question, therefore, your solution would be of no use to the OP. You can also see the OS for the system used by the OP to post the question to the right of the original question in this forum .
Additionally, using an old version of Firefox is ill-advised as old versions contain uncorrected security vulnerabilities. Roboform has been very good lately in keeping their products updated for new Firefox releases and any problems with their products should be reported to them so that they can address any issues and release an update if needed.

  • You tube is fine but Video from other sites will not play in any browser all of a sudden. I have latest version of firefox (16.something) flash and all plug in

I cannot play videos from many sites. Everything was fine up until a few days aago. You tube works fine but others will not. I have firefox 16.something and latest versions of flash. All plug ins are there and enabled. Have read through many support threads and nothing is working. This happens on chrome and ie as well.

You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

  • Is a .msi download available for bulk installs of flash and reader?

    looking for .msi download

You need to apply for a distribution license
    Flash Player: http://www.adobe.com/products/players/flash-player-distribution.html

This will take some time to get approved; in the meantime you can download the MSI installers directly

  • When will there be universal support for Sling Media Player, Google toolbar plugin, and Active X for Firefox Aurora 7.0a2 and up.

I can't install Google Toolbar or watch my Slingbox from http://watch.slingbox.com/watch/slingPlayer/install

Firefox doesn't support ActiveX; if you have the ancient ActiveX plugin for Firefox 1.5, you should remove it. [http://kb.mozillazine.org/ActiveX#Uninstalling_the_ActiveX_plugin_on_Windows How to uninstall].
The others are third party add-ons that will be updated... when those third parties update them. Considering that Firefox 6 hasn't been released yet, I wouldn't hold your breath.

  • I need plug-ins for Firefox v.7 (ad and flash blockers). It can't be upgraded because my Linux netbook has 500MB max.

running Ecafe slim HD with Ubuntu Linux 10.04 as standardized OS. They have released Firefox 7 as the official browser (probably because of lower RAM requirements). Ecafe has one 500MB DIM (which is probably why it runs Linux). Ad and flash blocker plug-ins aren't available for this version. How can we get them for this version of Firefox?

The current version of Flashblock works with Firefox 7.
    https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/flashblock/
Adblock Plus 2.0.3 was the last to support Firefox 7; you can get it below.
    https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/versions/?page=1#version-2.0.3
That being said, please note the following:<br>
You have enough memory for the current Firefox release.

  • I was having problems with Firefox browsing VERY SLOW, and since Mozilla doesn't have support for Mac users, there was no solution to this problem. I have switched to CHROME and WOW this browser if FAST!.

    Lovin' Chrome. Good bye Firefox!

i have the same problem with the above..firefox is running too slow with the games in facebook..but it runs good when browsing my updates, msgs, photos...firefox is totally opposite of IE..IE is faster with the games and slow while browsing..i love to use mozila but when i do games it really pisses me off...hope you could help me..

  • I'm having problems when Firefox 5 uses Flash Player.

Whenever the browser uses Flash player ''(ex. Facebook games)'', my browser becomes so slow, that even opening a new tab takes time to load.
One more thing, whenever I watch videos from youtube, although the buffer is finish, the video is choppy.
    Any solutions with this?

No solution but some general comments
It may be worth disabling firebug, and any other unnecessary extensions, also consider any other background tasks, for instance is the computer indexing drives, or doing other downloads or security scans.
Experiment with hardware acceleration on and off, in both firefox prefs, and FlashPlayer settings. Ensure any video drivers are up-to-date.
Do you need the multiple java consoles, and is there any possibility skype may slow things down ?
It may be worth considering a new separate profile just for flashplayer gaming.

For the Australian Print Products Store see: http://store.apple.com/au/help/print_products
Check the link "Payment and Security" on that page.
My iphoto is older version and doesn't have the setting of print products store.
How old? You will need at least iPhoto '09 to buy print products.

  • I tried to uninstall firefox and to install again on linux mint. Now firefox ask every time for a profile,i never make a profile before and this is a serious problem to me.Firefox can't open and work like before the uninstall

Hi,i am running linux mint.I tried to change the firefox folder from the file system with a new firefox folder cause i had a problem with one extension(download statusbar). So,after that i have problem, firefox ask me about profile and after some tests about it from me,firefox always says"this profile its allready in use, make a new profile or rename one profile".I don't know anything about profiles, first time i see that i can make a profile it's now.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, maybe after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

  • Updating flash for firefox without admin rights

I use Firefox in an environment in which only IE is supported. Every time Adobe updates Flash, I lose the ability to view Flash content in Firefox as I lack admin rights to update it.
I have tried the work arounds and none solve the problem. Previously I would just download Firefox again, reboot, and the update would be there. No longer works.
Is there just no way for Firefox to update Flash internally, especially for users who lack admin rights?
I greatly enjoy using it but if I can can't update Flash, I will have to go back to IE.

    Hi,
    try with this instruction:

Worked for me (and many others, as seems)

  • Firefox becomes really slow then eventually unresponsive when loading a page with many hires images. Unsual high memory usage up to 2gigs just for firefox. Was never a problem with v3.6.

When loading a page with many hires images, Firefox becomes really slow and scrolling becomes jumpy then eventually becomes completely unresponsive. Unusual high memory usage of up to 2gigs just for firefox when loading these pages. This was never a problem with v3.6.

I encountered the same type of problem. Firefox running terribly slowly and slowing down my entire machine (Core i5 with 256GB SSD). Searching the forums, I found a couple of things about troubleshooting performance issues, one of which was to use '''hardware acceleration''', that is on by default. It was turned on on my PC, '''so I tried deactivating it, and it worked!'''
So doing the exact opposite as Mozilla support said solved the problem. It is really a pain now to work with Firefox. I'm using it because I have no choice, but I'd recommend IE and Chrome over Firefox... Whatever, the market will decide once Firefox has become to crappy...

  • I'm running Mac OS 10.5.8 & Firefox 9.0.1. It takes a significantly longer amount of time for Firefox to open now. I've always had about 5-6 pin tabs that automatically open, but this was never a problem before. Should I downgrade, or is there a fix? Thx.

Not sure why it takes almost 1-2 minutes for Firefox to fully open and load. It's also not an internet issue, as Safari opens immediately.

Perform the suggestions mentioned in the following articles:

Check and tell if its working.
