Unity Connection 8.5 Help Desk Administrator Role

I have a Unity Connection 8.5 Cluster and I have assigned agents on our helpdesk to the Help Desk Administrator Role.  When looking at the Roles page the Help Desk administrator has right to (as per the text on the page) "Resets user passwords and unlocks user accounts, views user settings" and I see that "Reset User Passwords" is selected in the check boxes.
When logged in as an account with this role assigned, I can navigate around CUCM to view pages but when I try to reset a voicemail PIN I get the message "Not Authorized" when I press save.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance

Hi Culittle,
I have some similar but different issue. I have users with admin roles (Technician,Help Desk administrator & User administrator). We are getting Not Authorized error while resetting the password of fellow admin users. They are able to reset the passwords for the voicemail account holders and delete users, however unable to reset the passwords of admin users.
Any assistance is greatly appriciated.
Thank you

  • SAP Cloud - Help Desk Security Roles

    Hi SAP user community,
Can you please recomend which security profile we should use for our Help Desk support?
Help Desk support would only require access to Application and User Managment --> Busienss Users. Their task would need to be limited to Password Resests and User Locks.
    Thank you,
    Zhenya

    Hi Zhenya,
I wouldn't use the pre-delivered roles for your use case.
You can create your own roles via "Application And User Management -> Business Roles" and assign them to your users.
It would probably be sufficient to create a business role that grants access only for the view "Application And User Management -> Business Users".
    Best Regards,
    Andreas

  • Ajuste tela Help Desk.

    Bom dia.
Teria como ajustar, para que quando o usuário entre no painel dos chamados, apareça todas os ticket abertos e não somente os deles?

I had this problem also.  After contacting Cisco, they informed me that the Help Desk Administrator role doesn't have the authority to make chages to accounts that have higher privileges such as System Administrators and Help Desk administrators.
Basically, the Help Desk role can only make changes to users.

  • Plugin Help Desk Queue

We are using the Help Desk Queue to customize views for the Help Desk and have an issue. We have two admins for our Spiceworks site, myself and John. John set up the Help Desk Queue and has the ability to add/edit/delete views. I can view them, but do not have the ability to edit nor add new views. Is there somewhere else I need to be given permissions to modify plug-ins?

  • Help Desk Segregation

We currently use the Help Desk ticketing system in Spiceworks"which is awesome for our needs", but I would like to open this up to staff-non IT to have a ticketing and tracking amongst themselves for items outside of IT. Is it possible to has this segregation from IT tickets and general staff so they can collaborate on items without having access to IT data "tickets"? I would prefer to have only one instance of Spiceworks, but may need to have 2 different installs. Any info would be much appreciated!! Thanks

  • Delegated Admin 7 - Delegating Administration (i.e. Help Desk Accounts)

I need the ability to grant Help Desk folks the rights to use Delegated Administrator and give them rights to change user's passwords and possibly some other attributes. I can't seem to figure out how to accomplish this. The Help Desk users already exist in my Directory Server. I was hoping it was as easy as assigning a role to the Help Desk users.
    How do I accomplish this?

The three roles available in DA are TLA (Top Level Admin), SPA (Service Provider Admin) and OA (Organization Admin). These are all "super-user" style roles for the creation and maintenance of Organizations, Users/Resources etc.
DA doesn't provide the granularity to provide a very restricted set of rights to a given user base. If you want this kind of functionality then you should be looking at something like IDM (http://www.sun.com/software/products/identity_mgr/index.xml).

  • Contact your help desk with this information: cannot create connection file "CitrixID"

Has anyone overcome an issue with logging in to a Citrix server and getting the following message: Contact your help desk with this information: cannot create connection file “CitrixID”? I can log on, but once logged in, the apps available to me will not launch.  All worked fine before I upgraded to OS X Mavericks. I do a lot of foreign travel and Citrix kept me connected to the office. Unfortunately, our IT team aren't really "Mac Guys" so they are just as perplexed as I am. I have deleted and deleted Citrix Receiver several times as posts on other sites recommended, but to no avail.

There are some discussions on the citrix forum that may help if you haven't already seen them. Here are two and there are likely more:

  • Cisco Unity Connection 8.6 Distribution list help.

We have a shared department line on several phones ( say 30  ) with VM and users were accessing the VM  through the telephhone interface.
Recently we had a request from the leadership team ( say 5  ) , that they need unified messaging ( VM in their emails)  for that department line.
How do i make it possible so that the leadership team has the unified messaging( VM in their emails ), while the other user still have access to the dept line VM through telephone interface.
If  I create  distribution list with the the leadership team  as DL members and call handler for the dept line DN with message  setting set to receipients as the distribution list , would that do it ? Will the other users still  be able to access the VM through their phone. how do I make it  possible .?

    Indu,
I understand you requirement and I'll be upfront and say there are only so many options here as I see it and each has its own caveats/limitations.  Here are a couple:
    1.  You will need an SMTP Smart Host configured for Unity Connection for this solution to work.  The Smart Host is just an SMTP relay server and it needs to be configured to accept messages from and deliver messages to the SMTP domain of Unity Connection.  That also means that you need to configure Unity Connection to allow inbound SMTP from this host (i.e., a trusted address configuration).
    2.  You will need an email distribution list or shared email address that you can forward a copy of voice messages for the mailbox to.  That email distribution list needs to have your special users set as members.
    3.  Once the first 2 items are in place, go to the shared mailbox and set the Message Actions for Voicemail to "Accept and Relay" and then specify the relay address as the address for the distribution list you set up in item 2.
    4.  Leave the configuration for the shared mailbox the same except for the accept and relay configuration above.  All users will continue to have the same phone-based functionality.  The difference is that a COPY of every voicemail will be sent to the special users via the relay to distribution list.  The caveat is that this is not Unified Messaging.  It does get the voicemail into email but there is no synchronization of MWI and/or message status for users that rely on email client to check messages.
Another option would be an Integrated Messaging solution.  This also is not Unified Messaging but does provide synchronziation between the shared line and email client; however, it requires that each of your special users set up an IMAP connection from their email client to the Unity Connection server.  So, the messages will not be seen in their personal email inbox but rather in a separate IMAP folder in the email client.

  • Cisco Unity Connection 8.5 Greeting Administrator

    Hi
I've set up 2 call handlers for an IVR set up I have created, it all works, I need the user to be able to create/amend greetings.
I have set up a DN pointing to connection, created a direct routing rule, checked conversation/greetings administrator, created a routing rule in for the DN I created in callmanager.
I 've set a call handler owner as me to test.
When I dial the number for greeting admin (12345), I get the normal welcome to cisco unity connection message.
it's not really clear in the admin guide how to drive it, any ideas anyone?
    Thanks
    Tim

    Hi Tim,
When I set this up on our CUC 7.1 system, I found that the Direct Routing Rule
only worked if the greeting Admin DN was actually on a phone and that number 12345
was used to access CUC (kinda makes sense). It's more likely that you set up DN 12345
as a CTI-RP or something else and are using Call Forward All to reach Unity Connection.
In this case you will need to use the Forwarded Routing Rules.
    Cheers!

  • Roles for Support help desk

    Hi Friends,
We have created support help desk in Sol. Mgr. I wnat to create below roles :
    SAP_SUPPDESK_CREATE
    SAP_SUPPDESK_PROCESS
These are std. sAP roles, but in our system we didn't found these. Shall I know where can I get details about these. I also want to know what are the other roles related to help desk.
    Regards,
    Sai Krishna

    Hi,
These roles should exist in your system. Which client are you checking? If there is problem in your client copy you may miss out these roles. These roles will be present in 001 you can transport from there.
    This should solve your problem.
    Feel free to revert back.

  • Help needed on Unity Connection

I'm setting up a new branch office with CUCM and Unity connection in HQ and h323 GW in branch office.  The phones are registered with HQ CUCM and everything works fine.  The issue is with Unity Connection.  I followed exactly how other remote site is setup.  However, when I dialed the new remote office, it rings and it goes to our company main greetings not their individual voice mail box.  On the CUCM side, I created VM pilot and VM profile for a new office along with calling search space, partition.  And, assigned all new DNs to a new VM profile.  Any suggestion?  I'm very new to Unity Connection.
    Thanks.

    Hi Peter
How is your CUCM integrated with Unity Connection ? By VM Ports or Sip Trunk ?

  • Cisco Unity Connection 8.6 problem with greeting upload

    Hello at all,
i have a realy strange Problem.
I want to upload a Greeting (*.wav-file) to a Call Handler, everything looks fine after uploading and i can also hear (Playback) the massage on the Computer and on my Phone. So i save the Config. After that i want to hear the massage after calling the Call Handler but i hear only "sorry, "CallHandlerName" is not Awailable".
If i make some checks everything looks ok, i have 2 User with sysadmin-role - both can Playback the massage via the Webpage.
But if i take the Phone and call the "Greetings Administrator" - there is no personal Greeting on this Call Handler - and thats my Problem.
If i Record a new massage with the Phone (in the Greeting Admin) it is working - after Uploading a new File (Codec is ok) i can Playback the new file but after Calling the CH, i hear the Massage which i have recordet with the Phone - not the Uploadet. But on the Webpage i hear the Uploadet file.....
    Whats wrong????
And yes, i have set this 2 Users as Call Handler Owner.
    What should i do??
Please can anyone help me in this case.....
    kind regards
    Markus
EDIT: I have also the Problem, that i can´t upload a File for a User - only the User self can Upload a Greeting, if do this with one of the 2 Admin-Accounts i hear also the System-Massage "sorry, -USERNAME- is not awailaible" and not the uploadet file - at the Webpage i hear the uploadet Massage - it seems to be the same Prob as with the CallHandler. Is it a JAVA-Problem mabye? I have Java JRE Version7 update7 installed and IE8 as Browser....
Certificate is installed, and the CUC is a trusted site......

    Hi Markus,
    It could be this bug;
CSCto92753 - Unable to upload wav files and save as greeting or send as message
    Description
    Symptom:
Unable to upload an  existing wav file, or create a new recording using the PC microphone and  save as greeting, voice name, or send as message. In the case of trying  to send as a message, the user receives a "Failed to Send Message"  error.
You might see Failed to Record Name if attempting to overwrite a Call Handler with a file.
You might also see Unable to save recording due to SSL certificate error.
    Conditions:
    Cisco Unity Connection versions 7.1(5)ES45, 8.0(3)ES27, 8.5(1)ES37
When  using either the Cisco Unity Connection Administration (CUCA) or the  Cisco Unity Connection Personal Communications Assistant (PCA) web  applications to upload an existing wav file, or create a new recording  using the PC microphone and save as a voice name, greeting, or send as a  message.
In the client side Java Console logs, you see the following exception:
Exception  in thread "Timeout guard" java.security.AccessControlException: access  denied (java.net.SocketPermission 10.93.231.234:8443 connect, resolve)
    Workaround:
In  your client side JRE security profile file....commonly named:   java.policy...add the below entry.  Will need to use the ipaddress of  the Connection server (for a cluster, put an entry for each of publisher  and subscriber).
    permission java.net.SocketPermission "10.93.237.101:8443", "connect,resolve";
If  get a permission error when trying to modify java.policy, then you may  need to set the permissions of the file to not inhearent permissions  from it's parent and not be read-only.  (aka by default the entire JRE  folder is read-only but you need to modify a file within it).
A good  article on the Sun website with more detail on the workaround:   http://java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/Programming/JDCBook/appA.html

I used the recovery disc. After the server rebooted, I had the same error. I then called TAC. We discovered there was DB corruption. The only way to resolve was to rebuild the server/cluster. Total process takes about an hour to an hour and a half.
