Unknown error occured (-54) figured out

FYI,
I have been receiving an "unknown error occured (-54) " when syncing either of my families ipods with either of our macs.... it would crash when loading the ipods and give a very vague error (above).
I have isolated the files that caused the error, and the issue is that they are locked files. After unlocking them, the error went away and the ipods were uploaded just fine.
FYI

Here is an easy solution to our problem.
You have to issue the commands at a terminal.
The reason we get this error is because the file flags.
In my case, the file flag is set to uchg and I assume this is the case for everyone having this problem.
tulum$ ls -ol
total 7512
-rwxrwxrwx 1 jesus jesus uchg 3845043 Jul 28 2000 You Learn.mp3
so what you need to do is reset the flag using:
tulum$ chflags nouchg You\ Learn.mp3
now check for flags ... they are gone
tulum$ ls -ol
total 7512
-rwxrwxrwx 1 jesus jesus - 3845043 Jul 28 2000 You Learn.mp3
Now all you have to do is write a script to recursively go through every folder and reset the flags. You can find a script that does the recursive process using a google search and then putting it all together.
If I have the time to lookup the script, I will add it later.
I actually have to find it to fix my files.
I'll post it when I do.
Hope this helps.
