Unknown shared PC on my system- HELP!
Any help much appreciated. I keep getting an unknown icon under my shared computers. AM I BEING HACKED?!?! It doesn't seem likely. Anyhow, I just updated a bunch of printer drivers etc and system software. Maybe I screwed something up. The shared item is called "brn_83c84e" when I click on it tries to connect then fails. When I do an "info" on it says it's a PC Server. Any ideas on how to get rid of this?

I am suddenly having a similar problem, but on only one of my computers. Under the Shared items in my Finder sidebar, a PC icon server labeled only "83" appears. Sometimes it disappears, but then reappears.
When I do a Get Info, all it says is that it is a PC Server. When I try to connect to it, I get a dialogue box that says: "Connection failed: The server "83" is available on your computer. Access the volumes and files locally."
I have checked my Airport, and only proper machines are connected to it. This appears on no other machine on the network. And as far as I know, I am not running any services, and all sharing is turned off.

Hi everybody,
A couple of days ago i have been seen a unknow shared pc on my finder, so i try some things to remove it from there:
- 1st: i changed the wireless network password
- 2nd: i restore the airport express and reconfigured it
- 3rd: i put my network in acces control mode and listed all my MAC adress of all my devices there
In all cases the unknown pc still there.
Somebody may help me to remove it from my finder or know wich device is itHi everybody,

So, when i go to System Preferences>Sharing and check the box File Sharing, the unknown shared pc disappear from Finder as follow: -

Reset your iPad and see if that helps.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -

During the restore from iTunes I get, almost at the end of the restore, the message that iTunes could not restore my iPhone due to an unknown error (1). Can someone help?

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

That's usually caused by a bad System Preferences cache file. Have a look under:
Hard drive > Users > YourUsername > Library > Caches
and delete anything referring to System Preferences. (Sorry, not on a Mac at the moment and can't recall the specific name(s).) -

Shared Application Tier File System in Oracle Applications R12

Recently I came to an environment, here we are having 3 nodes with Shared Application Tier File System - One is Admin & DB and the other two are Applications Nodes(Apache and Forms) with load balancing. Its a Shared Application Tier File system so APPS_TOP is NFS mounted on two Applications Nodes. But i see ADMIN Node INST_TOP is also mounted on these two Applications Nodes...Could you please let me know what for this is????? or for what reasons we can keep like this?????my question is Admin node and two Application Nodes are having INST_TOPS locally on those nodes it self,the best practice is to have $INST_TOP directory located on a each server local mount directory.

other than that Why ADMIN Node INST_TOP is mounted on these two Application Nodes.you have to check with your admins who implemented initially.but best practice is to have $INST_TOP directory located on a server local mount point.
