Nokia N95 8GB unlock code?

hi i have this nokia n95 8GB i bought from ebay and its got some lock code on it and i dont know what it is, neither does the seller how do i reset the whole phone without needing to have put the lock code in?

Updating the firmware on an N95-2 will reset the security code to 12345.
However, your original query wasn't that clear. Is it the phone's security code you're asking for or the unlock code that allows you to use SIM cards from networks other than the original one the phone was used on (so-called restriction code)? Only the original network can provide the restriction code.
Also make sure that it is in fact a genuine N95-2 that you have. There are countless fakes on sale on eBay.

I called my carrier AT$T to request for unlocking code, the person (a man) told me immediately that I'm not eligible to unlock my phone and Nokia hasn't provided them with the code. I didn't give up and went to this site to get more help. The Chat Support Representative told me to contact the Customer Service at 1888-665-4228. The Service Rep (Michelle) was very helpful, and guide me on what to do. She asked me to call AT&T again and put the call in conference (so she could assist me, if there is a problem). However, this time I was lucky, since the AT&T Rep (Jessica T) was very helpful. She talked to me and assist me for almost 25 minutes, but it was all worth it since at the end I got my unlocking code immediately with the instruction how to do it.
You are right, it depends whom you are talking to in AT&T, the first person I spoke to definitely, has no intention of giving me the code, by passing the bucket to Nokia.

if you haven't changed the security code then the unlock code should be the same....

I'm afraid there's nothing you can do as an end-user. If there was, the security code would be of little use...
Your only options are:
1) remember the security code, or
2) Take the phone to a Nokia Care Point, where they can reset the security code.
Note that the NCP will want to see documents proving that you are the owner of the phone and that is isn't one you "borrowed" or "found" somewhere. An invoice showing the phone's IMEI and your name, and photo ID are what's required usually.

hi mate,
you came to the wrong place. unlocking has nothing to do with us, but everything to do with your network carrier. you will need to contact 3 to get your handset unlocked and for the unlock code.

Nokia 6680 - unlock code

Hi Guys and Gals,
The saga of getting my 6680 unlocked continues. After posting a message on this board about who is hiding the unlocking codes (THREE or NOKIA) I have now come to a conclusion. THREE have them but won't give them out. I have just had an hour discussion with a guy called ELVIS from THREE customer service who are based in INDIA! Obviously I got a guy who just read the rubbish of his terminal. It seems to me THREE are scared to give the codes out to customers who are NOT on a contract with them as they don't want to loose their customers since their network is PANTS !!
Anyway, if you managed to get your 6680 unlocked from three then I would like to hear from you.
The fight continues .......

To put you in the picture, I am not on a THREE contract and I NEVER will be.
However, before calling THREE I bought a THREE PAYG sim card. I know what you are thinking, but it is better then not having a sim at all. Anyway, I explained very carefully that I was due to fly out to Pakistan in January for 6 months on business and a THREE PAYG phone will not work out there. Therefore, I would need to use a sim card in Pakistan to call within Pakistan. I would continue to use THREE when I arrive home to the UK.
Even after explaining all this .. I tried my luck an kept hammering on 'I WANT MY CODE'. Finally they said they would speak to higher management and get back to me.
They called back after an hour, and a so called techie spoke to me saying he has some codes. He gave codes all of which didn't work. Then he admitted that the codes he gave came from the a website. GREAT !!!!
I am now trying to get a phone from THREE as they gave me rubbish codes.
I am hoping they will send me either a correct code or a new phone unlocked !

You are using repeated "*" presses to obtain "pw+"?
There should be a maximum of five attempts on a non-BB5 phone unless some have been used up already.

I got unlock code from 3 network for n70 but not ...

I have n70 got the unlock code from 3 and entered it many times but does not work , i heard that phone becomes lock after 3 times... so what can i do now?

U will need to have the fone flashed to open it back up to use ure unlock code again

E90 still asking for unlock code after hard reset

I forgot the unlock code for nokia e90 i bought used. it was bought from ireland. so i was searching the forums and i found the *+3+call button+switch on technique to hard reset. the hard reset is complete but fone asks for code and now i am totally struck. please help.

The full reset only resets the unlock code for a few models. Obviously the E90 is not one of them. This means it can only be reset by a Nokia Care Point. You will need to bring proof of purchase/ownership with you.

I'm awaiting my N95 unlocking code from Orange because they say Nokia have to issue it. But my girlfriend asked for her N95 code from her network (Vodafone) the day after and was given it straight away, after giving the customer services rep her IMEI number. So are the codes issued to the networks from Nokia upon request, or do the networks already have all the codes?
