Unpredictable download issues using URLStream

Hi, I have an application that uses URLStream in an AIR desktop application to download large files from Amazon S3.
The problem is that on about 10% of the installs (around 1000 or so different computers) URLStream will fail with a stream error #2032. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to why these downloads are failing. If you take the URL request address AIR is making directly out of a program like fiddler and paste it into a browser it works fine so it is not an address issue. There does not appear to be any commonality between the systems that are having the problem. It is happening on different OS's (XP, Vista, Win 7, OSX) all with different firewalls (or no firewall) and different anti-virus programs (or no anti-virus). The only thing that seems to be consistent is that the installs that are experiencing this error only fail when requesting files over 5GB in size, all downloads under 5GB work fine for this 10% (all downloads of all sizes work for the other 90%).
When the download fails it fails immediately, it is not timing out. It looks a security sandbox issue of some sort, like a cross domain issue, but this is an AIR app so cross domain issues should not apply and even if I do put a cross-domain file on the server it does not solve the problem. I am using Tortoise SVN 1.7.8 for my SVN repository.Data Modeler use SVN client 1.6 and it's not compatible with 1.7 client, so some problems could be as result of using Tortoise SVN 1.7 client together with Data Modeler
I'll recommend the following directory structure:
svnrep\trunk\warehouse\modelA
svnrep\trunk\warehouse\modelZ
svnrep\trunk\warehouse\system_types
I was able to add quite a few other models to it all successfully because I never received a prompt to choose versioned folder for system typesYou won't get that question(prompt) if "system data types" folder is recognized as versioned - probably there is an influence by Tortoise SVN 1.7 client when it's not recognized as versioned.
Otherwise you can set "system data types" folder to versioned one in preferences even before you start to deal with models and you'll never get the prompt for that folder.

Download issue in a portlet page

Hi,
We have the following download issue in the portlet: Download works in an expected way in a standalone application, but fails when trying to do the same from a portlet.
1. We have a blob column in a table (Oracle 10g db), and we have uploaded files into the blob column through the JSF page using Trinidad my faces application.(using JSF + BC4J) in Jdeveloper 11g
2. We have an another JSF page which would list files uploaded, with the file names being hyperlinked, so that the user can click on the file name to download the file.
3. When we try to download the file, it works fine in a standalone OC4J, but fails with the error in a portlet :
4. We have portletized the download page and deployed the entire application as WSRP provider enabled portlet application onto embedded Webcenter OC4J.
5. When we tried to download the file, by clicking on the file name link in the download page (which is part of the portlet), we ge the error as given below:
Is it an issue with the portletization ? Can you please provide pointers to resolve the issue ? Is it the same limitation as any portal application wherein for download, we need to go outside the portal, that means, we have to explicitly call servlet to flush the file content onto the outputstream ? If this is the workaround, then please let us know how this can be accomplished in the above scenario.

Help with Video Performance Issues using Flash

Asking on behalf of a customer who has been unable to get any answers so far - are you able to help?
Background:
We have a port of our Game Development Kit which allows us to recompile all our games using Crossbridge (http://adobe-flash.github.io/crossbridge/) into SWF without any code modifications.
Overview:
Our framework is using OpenGL for rendering and we have successfully ported it along with the audio and video to run in Flash.
We are experiencing performance issues using Video. We cannot use image sequence as some of the video animations are too long and would increase the download to an unacceptable size. Assets vary between 256x256 - 1024x1024 videos.

Current Video Solution:
We create an instance of NetConnection, NetStream, and Video according to most samples out there, and invoke draw to rasterize the Video DisplayObject into a BitmapData instance.
The BitmapData instance has a fixed color component layout which is not compatible with Stage3D texture and is therefore has to be reformatted before uploaded to Stage3D Texture (See Code Listing below).
Our Problems:
Performance issues with RGBA conversion (either using copyChannel or manually reformatting is not fast enough) natively in as3; this required for stage3d texture.Copying each channel individual using bitmapdata.Copychannel seems faster, but not significantly faster.
Cannot detect when video frame has been updated, therefore we may copy pixels that are not needed in enterframe (processpixel).
Looping video, our current solution uses the NET_STATUS event Buffer empty; Is there a better way to loop videos than checking buffer and seeking to 0.
Stepping video, loading FLV or MP4 side by side assets from HTTP or embedded does not support stepping? Is there another way?

Problem Downloading app using wifi

I recently purchased an iPad. The problem is that I cannot download any apps using wifi. Everything else works fine using wifi. If I switch to 3G it downloads perfectly. I also have the same issue using my iPhone 4. This only started about two eeeks ago.
Any help would be really appreciated

You probably have some security setup in your network which is blocking access to the AppStore. Check your router for security settings.

Firefox doesn't download files using Download Helper

When I use the "add-on" Download Helper icon to select a video file (FLV) for download, I'm asked which folder it should go into (as usual). But when I click "Download," the file never appears to start downloading. The number in parentheses next to the icon indicates that one file is in the queue, but in right-clicking and then checking the download queue, no files are listed. And then it sits in that configuration forever. No file ever appears anywhere on my system.
The destination folder is present and accessible.
This was a sudden change as of this morning, with no updates to any of my software or apps. I tried refreshing Firefox (v. 36), and I've tried disabling/deleting/reinstalling Download Helper (version 4.9.24) with absolutely no change in these circumstances. It does me no good to open Firefox in safe mode, since then Download Helper isn't enabled and therefore is untestable.
Any ideas?

AH...good.
There is no limit on the times you can install it from the DVDs. There's just a limit as to being able to run it on multiple machines AT THE SAME TIME. If your old computer dies, or you sell it (please reformat the drive so they don't get FCP for free), then you can install on a new computer fine. And you are allowed to install on (1) desktop and (1) laptop at the same time as well...but only use it on one machine at any given time. Meaning you can use it on the desktop at work, and then when away from the office, on your laptop.
Long story short...you can install it fine without any issues.

IWeb 08 blog posting issue using Cyberduck

Tried to upload a blog page to my website and get the words "blog summary widget" where the content should be. I see it's been noted as a problem in other MAC communities but I haven't yet read a satisfactory resolution.

Is the blog page online now? I don't see it if it is. I don't have a lot of experience with iWeb blog pages (or any blogging pages for that matter) but do know these are the iWeb features that will be lost using the iWeb blog on a non Mac server:

If the blog page displays OK when you publish to a folder and look at it locally then the issue is with the uploading. What are you using for an FTP client? If it's not the free Cyberduck you might try downloading and using it. It's well recommended here in the forum.

when I search - the search results show and i can view the emails, but inbox doesnt download emails - says load more messages x read..
the folders are displaying ok.
Smartermail 2 is about 10 years old ( im not upgrading as its working fine other than this issue ) imap is fine with other mail clients.
has anyone else experienced this?

Filereference download issue on some browsers

Hi, Im having a filereference download issue which is turning
out to be rather elusive. I have it working great on my comp in ie,
however on my comp with firefox, or with any browser on my father's
computer we get the file browser popup and when we hit "save"
everything SEEMS to go OK but the file doesnt get downloaded. Weve
checked and re-installed all the browsers / flash plugins, and
nothing has changed. No error handelers get tripped, and Ive
checked the scope issue. The following is the code Im using,

succesfully with Apache's SOAP. This is the list:

Has anyone tried SOAP with Weblogic?
A recent thread mentions some problems (and solutions) with Weblogic and Xerces 1.1.2.
SOAP requires Xerces 1.1.3. Therefore, I would also like to know if there is any issue
using Weblogic with Xerces 1.1.3. I am using Weblogic 4.5 but I would try 5.1 if necessary
for this.

In the apache soap binary download, there is a soap web application ( in the
form of an exploded war file ). Just copy and paste this directory in the
domain's "applications" directory. You will need to add a servlet-mapping
element in the web.xml file, which could be something like this

Sim download request using wrong Apple ID.... what can I do?

I have 2 Apple IDs: 1 for personal use & 1 for developer use. I used the latter a couple of days ago to download Xcode 4.5 Preview. At that time, I also downloaded the 4.3 & 5.0 simulators. I now want to download the 5.1 sim. But when attempting to do so from Xcode 4.5 (More Simulators option), I get an error (not authorized to do so). It is attempting to use my personal Apple ID for that download & hence the reason for error.
How can I get the download or work around this issue? There was no problem downloading the other sims earlier. But now it keeps defaulting / using my personal ID despite requesting the download via Xcode 4.5. Is there a way to "tell" the download to use another Apple ID?

Just log into the appleid.apple.com website > sign in with his/her apple id > go to password and security in the left side > enter the security questions > and from there you can edit the rescue email.

Many still use unsupported ealier versions, and there is no real need to upgrade unless there is a real need.
Unless you have done something like installing new fonts or made other changes, it may be releavnt to look at the following list.

The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.
