Unsatisfactory services of Lenovo

I had ordered  Lenovo desktop PC (Order# 4246455491) on 22-2-2015. I had also successfully completed card verification and dispatch address confirmation. I think it was not necessary. Monies (A$951.07) were debited to my credit card on 2-3-2015 due to people at Lenovo accounts department on leave due to Chinese New Year. They did not leave any out of office message so I kept on ringing.
When I did not receive the computer till 3-3-2015, I went to the order dispatch status link and checked the delivery status online when I came to know for the first time that I will receive it only on 20-3-2015.
This was not acceptable. I was never told that it would take 4 weeks for Lenovo to supply the PC. Other computer companies are supplying PCs in 7-10 days.
I then rang your customer support number, twice. On both occasions, I was put to message bank, automatically after 5 min. I have left 2 messages there but no one has bothered to call me as yet.
I then went to online chat and chatted with xxxxx, Rep ID: xxxxx. He told me that due to Chinese New Year, there was a huge backlog. He will ask a supervisor to ring me(see the chat details below). This has not happened as yet. I then told them to cancle the order which was doone on 3-3-2015.
Despite of over half a dozen email, I have still not recieved the refund. I have not been able to contact a human being on their customer support number 1300 557 073 where after a wait of 5 minutes, it automatically goes to message bank. No one returns the phone calls.
Lenovo claims to be no.1 computer company in the world. From my expereince so far it appears to be last number company in terms of responding tho their customers, communicating with them and giving them ordered PCs or promptly refunding the monies that have been paid in case of cancellation.
If I do not receive the refund by close of business today, I have advised them that I will report them to Fair Trading Department for their unfair trade practices and lack of prompt customer services.

    it is clear that you seem to be unhappy about something regarding an order you placed, what is not clear is what you are unhappy about. You do not state what exactly had changed in the configuration to make you so unhappy, just that you are unhappy about something.
    It would be helpfull if you could maybe provide a little more detail and then members will be able to offer advice according to their experiences.
    If I understand it all correctly, you ordered a system with shared graphic but have now realised you require discrete graphic?

  • How do you uninstall the wireless service and lenovo battery indicator from the task bar.

    Was wondering if there is a way to remove them from the taskbar. Initially I had just the battery indicator and then I downloaded all the lenovo updates (for bios, etc.) and got the wireless service indicator too. They seem kind of redundant to me, as windows 7 already has their own on the task bar and they're just taking up additional space.
    I'd atleast like to get rid of the wireless service.
    Will this effect anything? Are they that important?

    Right click on the Lenovo battery gauge in the taskbar, click "Launch Power Manager", click Options, clear "Show Power Manager Gauge in taskbar" check box.  If Options tab is not available, switch to Advanced mode (upper right corner of Power Manager).
    Don't recall specifics for Lenovo network icon, but is probably just as simple.  Would be better (IMHO) to get rid of Access Connections altogether.
    Removing the icons will have no affect on anything, except your piece of mind from removing these ugly and redundant symbols of bloatware.  They are NOT important.

  • Bad Customer service from lenovo

    I have the Lenovo yoga 2 13 inch and I pursued extra in home warranty support.I wanted Lenovo to replace my battery of my laptop and they didn't have in stock.I asked if there was any other option to get a faster machine faster in need my machine for college.They transfer my case to a Customer relation manger and they said 3 days they will call me and it was setup on Sunday and today is 5 days and no call every time I call warranty support there claiming they will call me next day and no call. Any moderators from the disscouin board help me or any customer relation manger help plz.

    Welcome to the forum - I really appreciate your taking the time to share your friend's story hear.
    I can appreciate that it must be frustrating.  Certainly part delays are something we want to avoid.
    If the system is overheating there are several possible reasons:
    1) The power management software has been removed or corrupted - reinstall it / check settings for balanced power scheme.  Does system have these symptoms when running on battery, on AC or both?
    2) The fan / heatsink are clogged with dust - clean it with can of compressed air
    3) The fan / heatsink are not making good contact with CPU & GPU - check fit, apply new thermal grease & retest
    4) Fan / heatsink are defective - replace them
    5) System board and / or CPU is defective - test and replace as needed
    With these points in mind, it can be time consuming to take a systematic approach - so, perhaps service made intial checks and believed the board was defective.  It is possible there could be several different model boards for the system depending on GPU options for example, and maybe the wrong part was ordered?
    If so, that is unfortunate, but I'm sure you appreciate that everyone can make a mistake sometimes, right?
    Can you please send me a PM with your friend's service case number and contact information?  I will escalate the case and see if there is anything that can be done to speed this along.

  • Wrong CPU given back after servicing? Lenovo U350

    Hi,
    I sent my notebook for service to change motherboard and battery for Lenovo U350.. After replacing the mainboard by LENOVO, i found that my CPU was not the same... Previously before service it was a SU7300 CPU and after replacing the mainboard, the cpu given back was a U4100 cpu.. Is it replacing mainboard, cpu also replaced??
         Please advise??

    Thanks for your post and your private message.  Please send me another PM with your contact details - name, address, phone and the current MT & Serial of the W520 that you have now.
    Ultimately, we will probably need to see your particular system here to recreate the whine noise (detailed steps from you are appreciated so we make sure we are hearing the same thing).   We don't have this as a "known" issue yet, so will be looking for example cases and then can try to isolate the components.
    The Fan issue is solved by an updated BIOS making it's way out.   I think it was going through test last week and should be released to the website for download in the next week or so.
    Will have to check on the red tint and would need to see the system.

  • Complaint regarding poor service of lenovo - unsatisfied-unhappy

    I want to put complaint regarding lenovo product ideacenter B320, From last 2+months i am following the lenovo customer support for my product, After purchasing 3rd time i face issue from this product, but no proper response even emailed them twice but no hearing so i want to launch complaint againt this lenovo bad product that i was purchased. please help if anyone have their direct contact or place where my problem will solve.

    I agree with you totally when it come to "Poor Customer Service!!" I just got a Lenovo-Idea (when I was told that's what it was)C520 and it doesn't boot off of a CD. I need it to reboot off the CD to get on my job's network and I was transferred 5 times!! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!! No one knew or understood what I needed answers for. So, I figured I would come to this forum and maybe someone could give me some suggestions before I take this computer back; This is ridiculous!!
    In order for me to access my job's network, there is a CD that I have to put in the drive and then restart the computer (so I need changes in the BIOS system) in order to access my job's network. A regular computer would then boot off the CD and then I have access to my job's network.  The Techs at my job gave me as much information as they could, and "THEY" couldn't figure out why "THIS EXPENSIVE COMPUTER"  couldn't boot off the CD in order to access my job's network. So, I was told to contact the manufacturer; Yeah Right!! I got transferred all over the place with no results.
    So, If someone knows how to change the BIOS system on a Lenovo All-In-One C520 so that the CD works, please let me know. If I don't get any answers within a reasonable amount of time, I'm going to take this computer back and get my money back because this isn't worth the hassle. Now, I see why people use the name brand computers instead. What's the point of making upgraded computers if you can't use them? Everybody doesn't just surf the web, they "ACTUALLY" use it to work.

    I purchased Lenovo Z580 and logged a case for this 7020839890 laptop, before approx 25 days i met an accident and my laptop is damaged.. and my laptop is in under ADP protection....
    customer care agent says after seeing snaps of my damaged laptop that this does not happen in a accident. first i want to know how shoul he know that this is not an accident. is he got some speacila powers or he is lord...how

  • LENOVO SERVICE FOR B540

    I have seen a lot of complaints in these forums and elsewhere related to unsatisfactory warranty service from Lenovo.  I think that it is important, therefore, to let everyone know of my positive warranty service experience.  My B540 repeatedly failed to boot, displaying the infamous Error 1962 message.  After spending about an hour on the phone with a clearly understandable U.S.-based Lenovo warranty rep, I was told that Lenovo was going to have their service techs install a new motherboard and some other parts.  The parts were briefly backordered, but within 1-1/2 weeks a service tech arrived at my house, replacing the motherboard and some cables in about an hour.  The B540 has functioned with no problems since then.  It is unfortunate that the computer malfunctioned in the first place, but Lenovo did everything that I could expect from a computer manufacturer to correct the problem.  Good going, Lenovo!

    I learned that the 1962 error code typically means either a) a bad hard drive, or b) a corrupted boot file.  However, my hard drive (the original that came with the computer) would boot correctly some of the time, and also worked just fine when I tried it in a different computer.  I usually try to solve things myself, so I actually tried two other brand new hard drives in the B540 before I contacted Lenovo.  The problem was the same with all of the drives; sometimes they booted and sometimes I got Error 1962.  I also thought that it might be a defective data cable, but Lenovo uses a proprietary combination power and date cable, so there was no way that I could put in a new standard data cable.  I explained all of this to Lenovo when I spoke with them, and they agreed that in light of the tests I had already done, it had to be either the data cable or the motherboard.  They sent both to the service tech, and he installed both.  Thus I will never know for sure whether it was the cable or the board, but obviously it must be less costly to pay their tech to install both at the same time rather than having to return later if only one or the other is installed and the problem persists.
    Lenovo did, by the way, also send a new hard drive, but I told the tech that I wanted to try using the original (supposedly bad) hard drive first.  That original hard drive is working just fine. Based on what I've read in the Lenovo forums, the Error 1962 problem has plagued several B540 owners; I have never experienced this with other computers.

  • Very disapointed in Lenovo's service on my T430 machine type 2342CTO with Windows Pro 7 64 bit

    I have been a ThinkPad user since the first model 700.  I have always liked them and when I have had to use other laptops I found them inferior.  However one thing my team has been telling me in the past year or two is that they do not want to purchase anymore Lenovo ThinkPad's.  They have told me that the service and support has been greatly degraded.  I was hesitant to agree with them until my present experience.  We purchase all of our ThinkPad's with a 4 year on-site warranty.  We have people who are in the field and when their computer goes down we need to get it back up and running ASAP.  
    Three weeks ago my hard drive started to give me some problems and  one day after shutting down the computer a message came up that it needed to run Checkdisk which it did.  I was able to keep it going and I did have a backup.   I contacted  the 800 number to talk with a service person and they ordered up service for the replacement of the hard drive and also to replace the fan and sent me the system disks for the T430.  Two days later the insight service person showed up with the parts.  The disks showed up as well via UPS.  The service person replaced the fan and the HDD.  There were 4 DVD's for the system disks.  He started the rebuild and asked if I could finish it and I said I could with no problem.  He left.  I continued the process.  After the 3rd DVD it asked to put in the 4th and when I did a message said that this was the wrong DVD.  I tried all the other 3 with the same response.  I tried building it from scratch again and the same problem.  I called support again and the guy I spoke with thought that I must have a bad DVD and he would send out another set.  That set of 4 DVD’s arrived the next day which I was very thankful for.  He told me that they could only guaranty 2 days.  I thought OK we should be up and running shortly.  The same problem occurred again.  Bear in mind that both sets of these DVD's were all labeled for the ThinkPad T430 machine type 2342 which was my laptop and for Windows Pro 7, 64 bit.  I called Lenovo and this time the tech I spoke with said that there was another set of Disks for my machine that should have been sent.  Of course I was frustrated but there was not a lot I could do about that and I asked if they could make sure that they were overnighted to me so that I would be sure to get them on the next day which was Thursday.  He told me that he could not do that, that they could only guaranty 2 day. I called the next morning to get the tracking number which they gave me and it was supposed to be delivered on Friday which I was very thankful for.  That was Good Friday.  However UPS had some severe weather at their hub in Kentucky and everything was delayed and the disks did not show up until Monday.  I had now been down a whole week from my first call the Monday before. 
    The new set of disks was 3 DVD’s labeled for the T430, Machine type 2342 and Windows Pro 7, 64 bit.  I started the build process.  It continued to work but I made a mistake in the order of disks so I thought that these disks have a problem too.  I called Lenovo and they said that I should just send the system in for depot repair.  I said that will take at least until probably Thursday.  The guy I was speaking to said that I should have it back by Wednesday.  I asked if there was any way that I could send it to them directly that day.  He said no I could not, I had to wait for a box.  I asked if there was anyway to expedite the process and he spoke to his manager and his manager said that the level of service that was on the machine would not allow for any faster service.  The also told me that my service contract would allow me to take it to an authorized Lenovo service center around me.  I said to him that they probably have a queue as well and that I will have to wait for that.  As an aside note we did try service like this with one of our other ThinkPad’s that had a problem and the place messed up the system and we ended up at the end of the day having to send it to their depot for repair.  I hung up and though let me try these disks one more time.  I did and I saw my mistake and the system loaded up the DVD’s properly.  I was getting excited that I could be up and running shortly.  However my excitement was short lived.  Once it started to reboot and expand the installation the drive failed and said that it had to run Checkdisk.  It did and once again there were all kinds of orphaned files etc.  I had to reboot and run it from the DVD’s again and I went through the whole process once again.  The system went into a complete failure and would not do anything.  I called back support with my case # and gave them this information.  The box came the next day and I packed it up and sent it off.  I then started tracking it and it arrived on Wednesday as expected.  Then I wanted to go to the site and track the progress of the repair.  The document you have to fill out and send back with the system gives information on where to go on the web to track the process.  My shows that it arrived on Wednesday 4/8 as expected.  The first message shows “Machine being repaired” at 08:52.  Then I checked later in the early evening hoping to see shipped back to customer.  However what I did see was the following message “Hold for Parts – Service call is on hold until parts arrive”.  Then I kept tracking it and saw another entry on 4/10 at 02:01:54 which was the same “Hold for Parts – Service call is on hold until parts arrive”.  That was of course Friday.  I called the service and they told me that they were waiting on parts which they could not tell me what parts and that there was nothing that they could do.  I then asked if there was anyway to expadite this and the girl I spoke to said that she would seek to accelerate this to another level and that I would get a call from Lenovo in the next 2 to 3 business days!  I said to her that you really mean that that is accelerating it and she said yes.  Yesterday I received a call from an automated attendant, not a real person who told me that they were waiting on parts for my computer and that it could be “5 to 7 business days before they receive the part”.  I could not believe this.  I called again today 4/15 and asked if anyone could tell me the status because the website told me very little.  I told the girl that I was speaking to that I had received this automated attendant telling me that a part would take 5 to 7 business days more.  I asked her if Lenovo kept parts and she said yes but that this part was not in stock.  I asked her what the part was and she was able to find that it was the main system board that had to be replaced.  I said you have already had the unit for 1 week now at depot repair and never mind the fact that I have been without my computer for 2.5 weeks.  She told me that there was nothing she could do and that I had to wait on the part.  That is where this case sits at present.
    I am very very unimpressed with Lenovo’s service.  And furthermore there is no one to talk to about it at Lenovo who gives a care.  I really did not know where to air my grievances with how this case is being handled.  I thought maybe the forum would be a place.  At least others will learn of my dilemma and maybe others have experienced the same thing.
    I still like my ThinkPad but the service of Lenovo has become very poor at best.  The guy that is my technical manager has had a poor experience of late ordering up some other Lenovo products and he does not want to purchase anymore and these were for new product.  They sent the laptop with the wrong software loaded and then said no problem we will send you a new set of disks to load.  He refused and said you have to fix this because it was Lenovo’s mistake.  It takes time to load software and time is money.  I believe we will be leaving the Lenovo field if things continue.  I hope and trust that others will not experience the same treatment as I/we have.  I wonder if Lenovo will even respond to this post.

    I had a real problem with wireless performance on multiple ThinkPads with Win7 until I realized there is a new (or maybe changed implementation) power setting in Win7 which was affecting it.
    If you go into Control Panel -> Power Options and click "Change plan settings" for your current power plan.
    On the next screen click on "Change advanced power settings"
    On the next screen expand "Wireless Adapter Settings" and then "Power Saving Mode"
    Make sure it is set to Maximum Performance.
    Not sure if this will help your particular problem but hope it does.

    I used to be the loyal Fan of Lenovo products till today. I have two Lenovo Laptops and 3 Lenovo phones within my family, as I used to love Lenovo products.
    But today all my views about Lenovo changed because of one HCL guy Paramjeet (55004428). This guy gave me such a worst experience of my life when it came to customer service of Lenovo, that I am no longer a fan of Lenovo products.
    The issue was simple, my android OS got corrupted and my phone's warranty will be going to expire on December 22, 2014. So I went to your customer service hoping to get the OS reinstall and start working with my phone. But this guy simply said NO to me as there was a slight crack on my screen. He said my warranty is now void as there is a crack in my screen and I will not get any support on this until or unless I do not spend 8000 Rs to change the screen first. When I asked him to give me this thing in written, he denied saying that I am not going to give you anything in written. The guy was extremely rude. I did not ask him to change the screen under warranty, All I asked was to restore my OS. Further, my phone charger (not working) which has got nothing to do with a crack on the screen of phone. He said that the warranty is expired for it as well.
    I thought that Lenovo was a respected company who actually cares for it's customer, but I know that Lenovo is just another company who simply treat it's customers nice only till the product is not sold. Once the product is sold nobody gives a **bleep** about the customers.
    Today I realized that there is no difference between the customer service of phone company like Micromax and a big and trusted brand like Lenovo.
    I really do not know what action you will take on this, but if this is the level of customer service provided by Lenovo, then that day is not far when your customer will start moving to another competitor.

    There are some more examples.  "A-NOVO" also fixes the HP notebooks( Pavilion). HP (Pavilion) and Lenovo (Ideapad) service has already become a legend in Poland and the polish branch of lenovo does not do anything with these opinions.
    "The famous service from Wolomin*. What a lot of talking here, not on their strengths, the equipment comes back battered and dirty after the repair warranty, unless of course will be considered."

    I experienced problems with the service in Poland also. In September I bought a Lenovo U310 from Flanco ( Bucharest, Romania).
    My laptop is still in the service there ( I sent it on 31st of January, so it's one month since it is there). My laptop had software problems (it blocked very often, although it was brand new - I had it for 3 months). The diagnosis from the service was - broken display, they said that the display got broken during the transportation because it was not packed properly (I packed it in its original box and sealed it just as in the instructions, I asked the courier if it was properly packed he said yes - there were no other people there to check the state I hand in the laptop, to evaluate it, so the courier was the only person I could talk to, but anyways, I think that there was no problem with the packaging). After one month they sent me the bill for repairing the display (140euros), they said that I have to pay because the guarantee doesn't cover it. I paid, because I had already stayed one month without a laptop and it was very difficult, i had to borrow laptops from friends to do my projects, so I was in a very desperate need to get it back as soon as possible. However, I am very upset of the way I was treated (an employee from the call center called me and said that if i don't pay the bill within a day, they will sent my laptop back unrepaired, it sounded like a rude threat). I think also it is very unfair to be obliged to pay for damages that I didn't produce and to wait one month for my laptop to be repaired (I even moved from Romania to Belgium in this month and asked them to deliver the laptop to my new adress in Belgium, but they said that is not possible - so now I have to find somebody to receive my laptop in Romania and re-send it to me in Belgium - some extra livration taxes that I will pay myself because of the inefficient services of Lenovo). I also think this procedure is very faulty - because all the problems are discussed by phone with people from the call center, even the connection with the service in Poland is done thorugh the call center and this slows the communication process, and there is nobody there to do an evaluation when you hand in the laptop (who can prove now that I didn't pack the laptop correctly? - I think this is just an excuse to cover the damages of the  courier company - UPS - and to make me pay for it). Instead of solving this problem correctly and decently, they prefered to argue with me, put me in a difficult position and totaly lose me and all my friends as a customer. What is more, I see on the Lenovo fanpage Romania that a lot of people are complaining about this, so it is a very serious problem. The company should do something about this, in my opinion. It already had a lot of problems in the past, now it is creating a bad reputation also just because some badly managed procedures which could be set in place .

  • Lenovo 3000 N100, Services failed to start No internet connection, Win Vista H Prem SP2

    Can not connect to the internet.
    Control Panel>Network and Sharing Center   .. Below  Sharing and Discovery "off "
    Tried to connect wireless first.  Network discovery is off. Clicked to turn on and apply..... it will not turn on?  (still trying )  To end I had to use the task manager, to end program.
    Connected a network cable to the laptop and fill out the wizard connection information.  
           Still will not connect.   Restarted with network cable attached no connection.
    Wireless Connection status, Radio off. Click on "Power on Wireless Radio"  will not come on.
    Also have some spooler issues, currently no printer installed. "The Dependency service or group failed to start."
     Lenovo 3000 N100 Win Vista Home Premium SP2 32bit,  system rating 3.1
    I think this is all a services issue? 
    Suggestions?
    After yet an additional restart "Connection Status: unknown The dependency services or failed to start."

    Called into the Lenovo help desk for software, Rommel did diagnostic with me and it seem to be a virus.  I have no services files running and no internet connection.
    With no internet connection it's hard to get a service from Lenovo.
    They are will to sell me a one time service for 89.00 and if it's considered major it would go to 129.00.
    A one year service agreement would be 179.00 for 3 major and unlimited minor and they would on either of these send me a boot disk. 
    They did a great Diagnostic work I'm just not sold they can fix my problem.
    On the command line   ping 127.0.0.1 gets me Unable to initialize windows Socket, error code 10107.
    Looks like I dead in the water..........

    Schade. Momentan warte ich auch noch auf ein Mainboard für ein T450s (gemeldet am 11.06.) und habe mich eben nochmals erkundigt, wann es endlich geliefert werden soll: sehr wahrscheinlich nächste Woche.Es ist schon eigenartig (um es extrem milde auszudrücken), dass es bei einem neuen Modell anscheinend kein Ersatzteil gibt, die Notebooks aber x-tausend Mal in den Werken für den Verkauf produziert werden.

Vor 14 Tagen bootete das Teil nicht mehr und gab nur noch 2 Piepser von sich.Da das Gerät noch Garantie hat und wir Vor-Ort-Service gekauft haben, habe ich am gleichen Tag ein Ticket beim Lenovo-Service (Tel. 0800-500 46 18) aufgemacht.Nun höre ich seit 14 Tagen, dass ein Motherboard für das T450s nicht lieferbar sei.     Last Monday i sent them the written e-mail complaint explaining what happened and after 8 days they still haven't answered my e-mail . They don't even want to tell me how long it would take to solve the problem. Any other firm has a response time to any complaint but Lenovo doesn't. So for 8 days i have remained without a charger and without the ability to use the laptop. They even sent me an image and said that they didn't receive any charger with the laptop.
    THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE
    The rummors i've heard about the bad services of Lenovo have been confirmed.
