UOM in T-code:VK11

Dear All,
I am confused about the UOM in T-code:VK11
ex:
Currently in material master A of Units of measure have only below data:
1 DRM -
> 50 KG
1 KG   -
>  1 KG
Basically in VK11 ,once we input the record which UOM does not maintain in MM side (ex: CTR)system will pop a windows to maintian the  "Conversion Factor " of  CTR -
> KG.
But Why if I input the record with G in VK11 ,system does not pop the "Conversion Factor"?
I know ,and we all know that 1 kg =1000 g
Still it is strange ,does system have this recognition or configuration ?
where is it?
Thanks
Best regards,
Sophia

Dear PAVA,
Thank you very much for your kindly reply.
It is really usful.
Another question:
Seems conversion factor  of  data in the select list  all base on the SI Unit.
Currently my system is set the KG as the SI Unit.
How to set other unit as the SI Unit? I try click "G" ,then "Declare SI Unit", no use
Thanks a lot for your help
Best regards,
Sophia

  • Restrict a t.code VK11 using Site as authorization object

    Hi all,
We want to restrict VK11 t.code using Site as one of the authorizations. By default it has only Sales Org, Distr channel and division. I've added one more field for "Site" manually.
We have defined specific values for Site in authorization objects. Still system does not restrict VK11 executed by  user as per site. It works with Sales org/Distr ch/Division. But it does not restrict Site-wise for that role.
    Please help.

    > I've never got past 'play dead' with such objects
Yip, I know that feeling. It is like when you leave home for a long trip having packed everything you need, but you still have the feeling that you have forgotten something important behind and will kick yourself when you need it.
    > Can you please provide step by step instructions for that?
There is no step-by-step procedure nor medication to take for it. You just have to wait for it to dawn on you...
Enjoy the weekend and happy coding authority-checks,
    Julius
ps: I heard that this feeling is also caused by the rising popularity of ABAP OO programming techniques, where the checks are often natively imbedded.

  • Clear "memory" on T-Code VK11

I'm using ECC 6, and I'm sure this is standard functionality, but is there any way to "clear" the memory of this transaction?
if you enter pricing for a particular sales area, then leave the transaction, and come back in to enter additional pricing, you have to be mindful of the values because they are pre-populated with the ones that you just entered. This is great, if you are using the same key combination, but if not, then it can cause pricing to be put up against the wrong sales area due to the user not being careful.

    Hi,
Check in report SAPMV13A if you have the sentence SET PARAMETER ID 'XXX' yyyyy for this field. Check the ID for the field (value 'XXX') and if in the coding yyyyy is space or is other value (eg: SET PARAMETER ID 'VAG' FIELD komg-kunag). If it is the last, I think that you don't have possibilities to avoid it.
Perhaps you can control it with the BTE's (tcode FIBF)

  • ISO Code in Idocs,Language dependent settings,UoM "PCE" and Russian lang.

    Dear EDI Experts,
I have to deal with the following issue:
MATMAS05 Idoc created via BD10 and covnerted to an XML file.
This files are "deployed" to SQL Servers in different countries, e.g. RUSSIA, UKRAINE.
When transferring that material master the ISO code for Base unit of measurement is "PCE" (Transaction CUNI) used for the idoc.
How can I establish the logic that when RU is language the ISO code "Шт." is sent, when UA it is "на".
Is there a language-dependent setting possible for the ISO-codes?
    If not, any BADI possible?
    Any help appreaciated.

  • Change of ISO codes of UoM

    Dear Experts,
i am facing the following general question - based on SRM 7.0, CS
On the R/3 side, we have three different systems in use, to which SRM is connected. All these different R/3 systems are having differences in the used UoM / ISO codes of UoM.
We are now trying to consolodate all these differences in one of the R/3 systems, before we than do the replication of the UoM data from that R/3 system to SRM.
As part of this consolidation, in all three R/3 systems there are some ISO codes, that would need to be changed.
Has anyone faced a smilirar consolidation task before?
I am looking for experiance pointers regarding the question, what points i would need to keep in mind and to test in these R/3 systems, if i change the ISO codes?
    Thank you very much!

We faced a similar situation at one of our clients. Consolidating is not easily done. We said at the end that we have a 1:1 relation between ISO-Code and UoM in SRM and only make the UoM visible which exist in all systems.
We harmonized the UoM as followed:
    Int. meas. Unit:   PCE
    Commercial:       PCE
    Technical:          PCE
    Long Text for UoM:   Piece
    Short Text for UoM:  Piece
    ISO-Code:          PCE
    Primary Code Flag:  X
    Commercial meas. unit: X
With the Commecial meas. unit you can have the UoM invisible.
Changing them in the ERP is almost impossible as they are used everywhere and this is a bigger task.
    Have fun

  • Text detrmination based on Material Code UoM

    Dear Gurus,
I have a requirement on Text configuration.
Right now we have configured Text detrmination at item level in the sales orders. we have given one text type name as' Hours'.
and also we made it as mandatory so that while creating a sales order with out giving the text in that field system will throw one pop-up message.
but here my requirement is like based on the Uom of material code the text field has to made mandatory.
Eg; we are using two types of material code which are having UoM as 'H' and 'EA'.
so in the sales order if i give the material code which is having UoM as 'H' the system should not say that the text is mandatory.
if i give the material code which is having UoM as 'EA' the system has to give one pop-up message saying that the text is mandatory.
So how can i configure this requirement.
    Cheers,
    Sumith

    Hi Kausthub and others,
    correct me if I'm wrong:
KNA1 is customer Master - not language-dependent and no language-dependent text table defined for KNA1.
The term Text Elements refers in ABAP to short texts in ABAP program source that can be translated and will be fetched in user logon language if maintained, otherwise in program source language. Such texts can be fetched using statement
READ TEXTPOOL prog INTO itab LANGUAGE lang.
Other short texts may be stored in language-dependent text tables. Can be fetched directly from their tables.
Long texts are stored in pool tables and fetched using function READ_TEXT.
Now it is your turn to explain in detail and give example of what you want to achieve.
    Regards,

  • Processing status in vk11 condition record creation

    Dear All
i have a scenario where condition record is created in vk11 the processing status should be blocked by default,
super user will remove the block or release it in vk12
    How to configure this
    Regards
    J

    Hi,
    1. First Go to SPRO --> Sales & DIstribution ---> Basic Functions --> Pricing --> Define Processing Status
       Click on new Entries Create
                      1 Not released A - Blocked
                      2 Released - Released
    2. Create Condition Record Using T-Code VK11 , after entering the Details with your combination  then click on "Shift+F8 " or Click on "Key" you will get one more screen in that we have to select the "Processing Status "  ( In your case Give 1 ) and save the condition Record  (or)
In VK11 , after material Description we can find out the "Processing status " Column  , there you have to mentioned "1" and save
    3. Ask your Basis Consultant to whom you want to give the Release Approval , he/ she can give the approval in VK12

  • How to add a coloum in VK11

    Hello Experts,,
Kindly advise on the following requirement.
We want to add a column "customer material number" in the t code VK11. This is to make sure that the price is maintained for the same material which is known by customer material number.
I have seen that the "allowed filed" in the "create condition table", There this filed " customer material Number" is not available.
So is there any other configuration/ setting or any other way, wherein I can capture this requirement or I have to go for ABAP ing only.
    Thanks & Regards
    RaviRaj0308

    Hi Ravi Raj,
You have to add the field CUSTOMER MATERIAL NUMBER  in the pricing condition tables using the system modification as suggested by our friends.
And create a new condition table with Customer/material/customer material number and maintain the condition records for each combination.
this cant be determined at the condition records level automatically, but a manual entry is required
    hope it is clear.

  • How VK11 works?

    Hi all,
I have been asked to develop a module program, which performs the tasks of VK11 in more user-friendly manner. For that I would like to know the functionalities of VK11, how it works. How and where can I study this in detail and ofcourse starting from scratch?
    Thanks,
    Rajan

    Hi Rajan
We create Condition master data or more popularly called "Condition record" using transaction code VK11.
Conditions can be Price, Discount/Surcharge, Tax or Freight etc.
We create condition record for thses condition types through t.code VK11. That means Condition master data or Condition record is created for a Condition type (may be Price, Discount/Surcharge, Tax or Freight etc) using VK11 t.code.
In the Condition record, we store value about condition ,like if Price then what is the Price, if Discount then what is the rate of Discount etc.
In the Condition record there is always a validity period specified and the values are valid only for that period.
We can maintain scale in the condition record (quantity dependent, value dependent scale etc.) and there is no limitation to scale. So you can maintain the scale to any level.
We can also maintain an upper limit and Lower limit in the condition record to restrict manual changes to a limit .If you want to change the value in the condition record manually then you can change only within this limit.
Condition record can be maintained on various level, e.g, Material level, Customer/Material level, Customer group/Material level etc. These different levels are defined by a "Condition Table".
The purpose of having a Condition record is that, system should find the value of the different conditions automatically when we create a Sales document.
Finding the values automatically by the system from these condition records is governed by a technique called "Condition technique", for which we need to configure the Condition technique.
First, we create the "Condition table" using the required field from the field catalog or we can use existing Condition table.
Second, we create "Access sequence" and assign the "Condition tables"along with "accesses" to the "Access Sequence".
Third, we define our "Condition type" and assign the "Access sequence" to this "Condition type".
Fourth, we define a "Pricing Procedure" and assign all the "Condition types" required in the proper sequence in the "Pricing Procedure".
Fifth, we define the "Pricing Procedure determination"( Cust Pricing procedure + Doc Pricing procedure + Sales area ) .Assign the value to the respective Customer and to the Document type.
Now, your Condition technique configuration is complete.
But,system to get the value automatically into the condition screen of the Sales document, we need to create condition records for the condition types on various levels required, so that we can store the value of these conditions in the condition records.
To create these condition records for each Condition type, we use transaction code VK11 and they are stored in the table KONV.
Hope, this will help to clarify your requirement.

    So
    1) They manually enter a price condition in VA21 = Do Nothing
    2) They change a previously entered price condition while still in VA21 = Execute T-Code VK11 and create a record for it.
You still need to provide more info, and ask more questions.
What if the user entered the price incorrectly? You are going to create a master record in VK11 in the system of that.
What if another user enters a price at the same time as another user? Price records have date validity.
What should happen in Change (ala VA22) mode ? If they enter/change the price record then, should you create another record ? This will not be valid for any prior Quotations; or should you change teh existing record, back dated to the original creation date, and then update all previous quotations that contain this record?
You are going to need to provide more detail here, as these are only a couple of situations that can occur and may need to be dealt with somehow

  • ISO codes for Units of Measure

are the iso codes held in the uom the standard codes?  are these sap standard or can these be amended to what is being output and received by the business for EDI?

    Hi Smith,
Go through the below explanation, which would be helpful for you.
    Check units of measurement
In applications you often have to make calculations with quantities and physical units. Units of measurement are needed for their screen display and for internal conversions (such as kilogram <-> gram, but also centimeter <-> inch). The international system of units (SI) is used for this.
The international system of units is based on seven basic units of measurement. All other units are derived from these basic units. Units of measurement that measure the same quantity (and can therefore be converted into each other) are included in a dimension.
Units of measurement are held centrally in the SAP System for all applications. The conversion factors are stored in the system with a unique internal key. The external display specifications are maintained for each unit of measurement language-dependently. A business key (3 characters) and a technical key (6 characters) should be maintained for each language.
    Standard settings
In the standard delivery system, units of measurement are defined according to the international system of units (SI).
For a new installation, units of measurement are delivered in all clients. For upgrades, new units of measuremente are delivered only in Client 000. They then still have to be transported to the production clients.
    Recommendation
If you intend to perform cross-company data exchange, note that units of measurement with company-specific characteristics may have an adverse effect.
    Activities
Check that the dimensions delivered and the associated units of measurements are complete.
If you are using EDI, you should also check the ISO codes.
    Dimensions
    1. Call the maintenance transaction by double-clicking with the mouse on the Execute symbol.
    2. On the initial screen of the maintenance transaction, call the function Dimensions
To get a definition of a dimension, place the cursor on the dimension and choose the function Details.
    3. If required, create new dimensions with the function New entries.
    Units of measurement
    1. Call the maintenance transaction by double-clicking with the mouse on "Execute", or press F3 to leave dimension maintenance and return to the initial screen of the maintenance transaction.
    2. Select - from F4 Help for the field next to the Units of Measurement function - the individiual dimensions, and choose the Units of Measurement function.
To get a definition of a unit of measurement, position the cursor on the unit of measurement and choose the function Details.
    3. If required, define new units of measurement according to the international system of units (SI) with the menu function Unit of meaurement -> Create.
Here you have to make make specifications for:
Display (including a descriptive Units of measurement text)
Conversion (not applicable to units of measurement without dimensions)
    Data exchange (EDI) (optional)
    Application parameters
    ISO codes
    1. Call the maintenance transaction by double-clicking with the mouse on "Execute", or press F3 to leave maintenance of units of measurement or dimensions and return to the initial screen of the transaction.
    2. Choose the function ISO codes.
    3. If required, maintain new ISO codes with the function New entries.
    Hope this helps.

  • Unable to load Materials from ECC to Cloud due to UoM errors

    Dear experts,
We are working to set up the ECC integration with C4C through HCI, we maintained all necessary settings in ECC and HCI.
When we are trying to send Material data from ECC to C4C they are failing in Cloud with error "Solve Configuration Issue in Code List Mapping for field MeasureUnitCode with value PCE", but we maintained all the Material specific UoM in cloud and mapped them with ECC values in Code List mapping.
Can someone give your input in which scenario this error comes and how UoM Conversions gets updated in Cloud, like ECC Material master.
    Thanks & Regards
    Naren..

    Hi Naren,
we have experienced a similar problem when loading materials from ECC to C4C.
What we have seen is that you have to:
    - maintain the basic UoM of the material in C4C
    - maintain all the UoM mentioned in the conversions for the material
    - maintain the Code Mapping for these UoM if the codes are different from ECC and C4C
Nevertheless we had a problem for materials that in ECC in the UoM conversions section of master data have conversions like: 1 MTR = 1000 MMT (1 meter = 1000 millimeter).
In C4C we have activated UoM MTR and MMT, and MMT is defined as 0.001 MTR. So the conversion rate is defined in C4C.
If ECC sends this conversion for the material to C4C we have an error.
We have solved it modifying the mapping in HCI for the iflow *.erp2cod.material.*: in the mapping, the conversion element is not transferred if the basic UoM is MMT and the conversion UoM is MTR.
This is an example and a simple workaround that allows us to load these materials.
    Maybe could be useful.

  • Maintain condtions based on tax code

    hi.,
what means by Maintain condtions based on tax code?
i want maintain the sales tax condition record for TAXINN.
how will make the this condition record for TAXINN?
    Regards.,
    lakshmanan.S

It is the Tax Procedure which is condition based or formula based. In Indian scenario, Tax Procedure TAXINN is condition Based & TAXINJ is formula based.
For Tax Condition, Tax code is required. For condition based Tax procedure TAXINN, we maintain Tax Code in the condition record, which is maintained in T.Code VK11 / VK12. If we maintain the condition record without Tax Code, it will process the scenario upto Billing, but will not release Billing Document to Accounting. In TAXINN, we can see only MM condition Type & it is not possible to maintain any rate / % in Tax Code in TAXINN.
In TAXINJ, the formula is maintained in Tax Code. The rate / are maintained in TaX Code.
    How is Tax Code created?
To create a Tax Code, first we select country, maintain the Tax Code & maintain Tax Type as 'A' for output tax & 'V' for input tax. T,Code: FTXP
