see AttachmentPlease do not use the post title to post the entire question (no offense, it just makes the forum look ugly). As for your question - you really did install it? I mean with serial and install disc? If so, the update would work, because it would find the proper install info. That not being the case, there are a few things that may be wrong:
- due to you language settings, the installer cannot find the folder because it has a different name (though on Vista, that shouldn't be an issue)
- at some point, you used the CS4 Clean Utility/ Script to remove install info
- you are using a pirated copy that you may have bought on eBay or elsewhere that has a modified installer to circumvent licensing
- you are using an unlicensed version a "friend" gave you and that never was installed, but merely copied to the harddrive
That pretty much covers the immediate options, now it's up to you to tell us, which one may apply. Assuming, we are talking about perfectly legit software, re-installing it from the original media should take care of the problem. For illegal software, you should understand, that you are utterly on your own and nobody will help you, much less on the forums of the company producing the software.

I have an Iphone 5 6.01. I have a notice on my app store that I have an update. Tried to update, but it won't. Connected to Itunes and tried to download update for App. I can't do that either. It won't let me update any of the apps. What is wrong?
My husband and I are using the same iTunes account on all mac & pc computers, but the libraries are different on each machine. We always manually manage our music (no auto sync). iTunes is up to date on the PCs. My husband uses our joint iTunes account on his pc, but once again, has a different collection in his library from those on the other machines. He can't load any music from his PC to his iphone 4. I can load music from my mac library to my iphone 4s, but cannot load from my pc library to my iphone 4s. How can I switch my main library that it syncs with from the mac to the pc?

I've heard that it will also cancel your current contract. That isn't such a huge deal unless your current contract is an unlimited one--you can never get it back.
Does anyone know for sure? I've asked AT&T and received a "Yes it will cancel your current contract." and "No, it is a new contract--you keep your old contract if you wish." I suspect it is the former but it would be good to know for sure before ordering the service. -

Did you have previous versions of the software on your system? No
Is the trouble with the download or the installation of the software? I am not sure but i think it may be the download. It shows that the download was complete and icon appears on the desktop. I plan to buy the ''Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium'' but i wanted to try it first via the free trials, especially Photoshop and Illustrator. So please let me know what i need to do.

I have received an email receipt charging me $109.99 for an app I've never heard of and definitely never downloaded. How do I report the problem and get a refund?
Log into your iTunes account, then click on previous purchases then select the purchased app and then click report a problem. Then write and explain your problem and I am sure it will be considered.

I need the download quicktime in order to watch these lecture videos. It said the new update for my laptop being the yosemite one has the quicktime download within it. However, I went and downloaded it and now it just keeps saying it is downloading and then about 10 minutes later a thing pops up saying it couldn't be downloaded check internet connection. So I keep clicking retry but it has happened like 3 times now and it won't successfully download. Did anyone else have this trouble? Or can anyone else help?

Run Updater (CC - program) as AdminI don't know if it mentioned it in the troubleshooting steps, but one trap that can be a gotcha is if you have different langauge settings in Photoshop and the Desktop Application manager. Sounds daft, but English International, and English North American are two different langauges.

Will there ever be an update for retina display on InDesign CS6?
I know I'm a little late in the game guys...Didn't know all the details of this retina display business, but I figured it was the way of the future and I should just bite the bullet and get one. I've read everything I could find about InDesign and retina display (of course this was after I bought EVERYTHING...) will there EVER be an update for CS6, or do I have to go get the creative cloud?

Confirming that there will absolutely not be any hi DPI updates for InDesign 8 (CS6) either for Mac or Windows. As Peter indicated, this support was part of a massive code rewrite that went into InDesign 9 (CC) to support 64-bit versions of InDesign and the transition from the so-called Carbon to Cocoa programming frameworks on MacOS.

Updating numbered Cross references crashes InDesign in both CS6 and CS4
I have a large medical journal that has over a hundered references, which I cross-referenced with the thinking that the client may well insert or amend the refernces. I was correct and now the customer has several references to go in I have updated the first in its numbered list at the end and gone to "update cross-refernce" and InDesign crashes. I have tried this in CS6 and CS4 but both crash.
This happens often, particularly with cross-references across documents that are managed with an InDesign book file. One common suggestion, in addition to updating the installed software with the latest patches, is to open all the files in the book before updating; this may or may not always succeed. Search this forum for cross-reference crash to see other suggested solutions.
Some of those posters may mention the commercial third-party Cross-References Plug-in for InDesign, from dtptools.com, and the poster's experience with it. It is reputed to be much more reliable than InDesign's built-in cross-references. It includes an option to convert the ID cross-references to its own, and that's reversible. There's a free trial. There's also a free reader plug-in for users who will need to open and edit documents that contain the plug-in's cross-references. The reader plug-in permits users to edit content in the documents without affecting the cross-references. HOWEVER, to edit or creatge new cross-references, users need the full plug-in.
