Hi,
I'm not sure if you can use comma's to seperate criteria. Thy this:
WHERE criteriuma='something' AND criteriumb='something else'

• How to create user other than 'sa' to connect database server in SAP SBO

I want to ask how the step for create user other than 'sa' to connect database server in SAP SBO? Until now I use 'sa' (default) for connect to database server in SAP SBO application.
Can I do that?

You may create multiple SQL users to give full right to B1 database instead of using 'sa' user.
However, the preferred way would be by Use Trusted connection when you set the connection to SQL Server. In this way, you just need one more user for SQL. A group of window users could use this SQL access to connect database server.
Thanks,

• Updating a biar file - database connection

Hi,
I would like to know if there is a way of doing the following:
I have a biar file that was exported from a universe that I don't have access anymore. This original biar file doesn't have database connections set.
I am not able to connect directly to the machine I want to import the biar file using Designer, I can just use an alternative IP that is not the main one linked to machine's hostname (that is the Enterprise name). This alternative IP is the only one I have access to all ports, as you already know, I am not able to connect to it using Designer because it is not the CMS name.
I imported the biar file using command line.
Now I want to update database connection, how can I perform that? Is it there a way?
Thank you in advance,
A.

Hi there,
the full path on the system where it is running must be provided.
The 'Update a Sequencing File' is good for development but storing the value in a file somewhere on your system can quickly become a problem. The option 'Update a Sequencing Table in Another Database' gives you the non-obtrusiveness of the file based approach but stores the value in a database table. It is a little bit more work to set up but likely worth it over time.
Thanks

• Add-on connection error (-105) Access to company database is not permitted

Good day,
One of our clients have upgraded to 8.8 PL 11 (from 2007A PL 41).
Somehow the SBO-Common became corrupt and SAP suggested that we reinstall the SBO-Common.
The problem is that now the add-on (developed by us) is not connecting.
The add-on connects to UI API and DI API, but when trying to connect to the company with SAPbobsCOM.Company, an error is returned (error code: -105).
I am also confused about what the error actually is, bacause according to the SDK Help file, error -105 is "The observer.dll init has failed.", but the error message returned by the add-on is "Access to company database is not permitted; log on to SAP Business One and sign end user license agreement (EULA)"
I have tried resigning the EULA, but no success.
I have also tried deleting the content of the %temp%\SM_OBS_DLL, as suggested in another post.
The version of the OBServer.dll is 8.80.229.0 - I believe that this is the correct version for 8.8 PL 11?
Please advise.
Kind regards,
Rikard

Good day all,
My apologies.
I have discovered what the problem was - and it was me.
I did not realise that the connection I was making was not to the same database that I was connected to.
Therefore, I had to log onto the other database and sign the EULA.
The error explained exactly what I needed to do, but I wasn't paying attention.
Regards,
Rikard

• Webdynpro abap-method for saving updated values in new database table

Hi Experts,
I am creating an ALV application in weddynpro abap where i have given update button to update fields & save button to save values in mastertable,but whenever i am updating & saving ,it will overwrit previous values. For this,I need to create a separate method to save the updated values of the fields in a new database table.
Looking forward for solutions.
Thank You!

becuase of the below statement u r getting the error
insert into ZTAB_CS_ISSSAL values Item_Dates.
u declared the field Item_Dates as Stru_Issuesal-DATES
and u were trying to inesrting the record in the table ZTAB_CS_ISSSAL with the field Item_Dates
the error is related to the compatible.
so declare work area for updating the table should be of type ZTAB_CS_ISSSAL.

• LabView database connectivity toolkit 1.0.1 compatibility with MS-ACCESS 2010 / Labview report generation toolkit for Office 1.1.3 compatibility with Office 2010

In the very near future we will be forced to upgrade to Office 2010 Company wide and I am a little concerned with some of our older test platforms that have applications built in LabView 8.2.1. These applications save data to MS-ACCESS 2000 databases using the LabView database connectivity toolkit 1.0.1. Office 2003 is also loaded on these test platforms with all test reports generated using the LabView report generation toolkit for Office 1.1.3.
I have not gotten my hands on a copy of Office 2010 yet to see if there will be any compatibility issues. Does anyone have any experience in this area?

The MS-Access part is fairly well isolated through the ADO interface LabVIEW uses. The only possible problems there IMHO are difficulties with possible Acess compatibilities itself such as an example, SQL statement you may have invoked directly through the ADO interface. Maybe you did use a depreciated command back then that has since been removed. As long as the only thing you do are simple INSERT and SELECT statements only, I would expect it to just keep working.
The Report Generation interface is a different beast. Microsoft manages to change the Automation interface with every version of office in a way that strongly binding applications like LabVIEW break on. There is no good way around that except not changing those methods, but that is a cause that has been lost already. You will certainly have to verify the version dependant Report Generation API VIs to still work with Office 2010 and most likely you will have to make some changes to those VIs to make them work again with the modified ActiveX interface of Office 2010. Note, that I have no experience with porting report generation to Office 2010 but I have had some headaches from porting that between Office 97, 2000, 2003, and 2007.

rdata.addElement(rs.getString(i));
rows.addElement(rdata);

• Database connectivity toolset and microsoft access

Bonjour,

* Creating a Microsoft Data Link file (.UDL) for Connecting to Microsoft Access in LabVIEW
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/1D5EB4DCBD13106486256B9D005E11B0?OpenDocument

• Access is not inserting, updating or deleting records in my database table on the server

I am having a problem with an application I developed using Dreamweaver 8 and Access 2000 several years ago which is no longer working correctly. The problem is that Access is not inserting, updating or deleting records in my database table on the server but is reflected in changes to my Web site. I used the Dreamweaver server behaviors: insert record, update record and delete record to make the changes to my Access table on the server. My Access table on the server shows all of the records I inserted or updated in the past, but not any of the newly inserted on updated records.
does any one have any ideas as to what my problem is?
Jim

No, that has nothing to do with your problem. Let's make sure I understand the symptoms.
1) Your site is online at a remote host.
2) You use a dynamic page in your online site to update a database record (insert, delete, or update)
3) The update then appears correctly on your dynamic content page.
4) You download the mdb and it appears to not have any of the upates you just made.
Please correct any of these statements if they are wrong.
If the above is correct, then you must be looking at a cached mdb, or the mdb you are looking at is in the wrong location. Do this: search your entire drive for copies of the mdb, including in the Windows temp directories which is likely where the cached copy is located. Delete any extra copies and download again.

• Tomcat JDBC Realm Database Connection Error

Hello all,
I am trying to edit the server.xml file on Tomcat so I can use the JDBC Realm instead of the MemoryRealm. Hence, I will be able to read users, passwords and roles from a relational database instead of from the tomcat-users.xml.
I have tried following all the guides on the net I can find, my server.xml looks as follows (after making changes to allow it to use JDBC realm). The only problem is, when I try to run the application the server outputs the following: (after all of these errors have been kicked up a pop-up box then appears titled "Tomcat Manager Application", it asks for a User Name and Password. I have tried the standard user name of "ide" and the password next to it in tomcat-users.xml but it won't accept it. (I am using the netbeans IDE)).
Please could someone suggest any ideas of how I can get the server.xml to work with JDBC realm?

You can also enable an SSL HTTP/1.1 Connector on port 8443 by

entry. SSL support requires the following steps (see the SSL Config
HOWTO in the Tomcat 5 documentation bundle for more detailed
instructions):
* If your JDK version 1.3 or prior, download and install JSSE 1.0.2 or
later, and put the JAR files into "$JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext".
* Execute:
%JAVA_HOME%\bin\keytool -genkey -alias tomcat -keyalg RSA (Windows)
$JAVA_HOME/bin/keytool -genkey -alias tomcat -keyalg RSA (Unix)
with a password value of "changeit" for both the certificate and
the keystore itself.
By default, DNS lookups are enabled when a web application calls
request.getRemoteHost(). This can have an adverse impact on
performance, so you can disable it by setting the
"enableLookups" attribute to "false". When DNS lookups are disabled,
request.getRemoteHost() will return the String version of the
IP address of the remote client.

So when running a cluster, only make sure that you have webapps in there
that need to be clustered and remove the other ones.
A cluster has the following parameters:
className = the fully qualified name of the cluster class
name = a descriptive name for your cluster, can be anything
mcastAddr = the multicast address, has to be the same for all the nodes
mcastPort = the multicast port, has to be the same for all the nodes
mcastBindAddr = bind the multicast socket to a specific address
mcastTTL = the multicast TTL if you want to limit your broadcast
mcastSoTimeout = the multicast readtimeout
mcastFrequency = the number of milliseconds in between sending a "I'm alive" heartbeat
mcastDropTime = the number a milliseconds before a node is considered "dead" if no heartbeat is received
tcpThreadCount = the number of threads to handle incoming replication requests, optimal would be the same amount of threads as nodes
tcpListenAddress = the listen address (bind address) for TCP cluster request on this host,
in case of multiple ethernet cards.
auto means that address becomes
InetAddress.getLocalHost().getHostAddress()
tcpListenPort = the tcp listen port
tcpSelectorTimeout = the timeout (ms) for the Selector.select() method in case the OS
has a wakup bug in java.nio. Set to 0 for no timeout
printToScreen = true means that managers will also print to std.out
expireSessionsOnShutdown = true means that
useDirtyFlag = true means that we only replicate a session after setAttribute,removeAttribute has been called.
false means to replicate the session after each request.
false means that replication would work for the following piece of code: (only for SimpleTcpReplicationManager)
<%
HashMap map = (HashMap)session.getAttribute("map");
map.put("key","value");
%>
replicationMode = can be either 'pooled', 'synchronous' or 'asynchronous'.
* Pooled means that the replication happens using several sockets in a synchronous way. Ie, the data gets replicated, then the request return. This is the same as the 'synchronous' setting except it uses a pool of sockets, hence it is multithreaded. This is the fastest and safest configuration. To use this, also increase the nr of tcp threads that you have dealing with replication.
* Synchronous means that the thread that executes the request, is also the
thread the replicates the data to the other nodes, and will not return until all
nodes have received the information.
* Asynchronous means that there is a specific 'sender' thread for each cluster node,
so the request thread will queue the replication request into a "smart" queue,
and then return to the client.
The "smart" queue is a queue where when a session is added to the queue, and the same session
already exists in the queue from a previous request, that session will be replaced
in the queue instead of replicating two requests. This almost never happens, unless there is a
large network delay.
-->
list = sqlMap.queryForList("getGamesWithAutoPolicy", null);
from the map file:

SELECT gameid, policy
FROM update_policy

Here is the code for the entire method that uses this transaction:
============================
public List getGamesWithAutomaticUpdatePolicy() throws BIGDatabaseFacadeException
List list = new ArrayList();
try
sqlMap.startTransaction();
list = sqlMap.queryForList("getGamesWithAutoPolicy", null);
sqlMap.commitTransaction();
catch(SQLException sqle)
throw new BIGDatabaseFacadeException(sqle);
finally
try
sqlMap.endTransaction();
catch(SQLException sqle)
throw new BIGDatabaseFacadeException(sqle);
return list;
============================
I know that this should be handled as an automatic transaction, but I tried adding the start, commit and end transaction commands in my desperate attempt to fix this problem (but it still didn't help).
Here is my code for creation of sqlMap -
--> sqlMap = SqlMapClientBuilder.buildSqlMapClient(Resources.getResourceAsReader("sqlMaps.xml"));
Except for the fact that occasionally connections are not closed, overall my database access using iBatis works very well.
In the course of trying to fix this problem I've worked to update all my lib files to the latest versions, and here is current status:
My iBatis lib file: ibatis-2.3.4.726.jar
My JDBC driver: postgresql-8.4-701.jdbc3.jar
Required commons files:
commons-dbcp-1.2.2.jar
commons-pool-1.5.3.jar
Note that I tried adding --> commitRequired="true" to the transactionManager in sqlMaps.xml, hoping it might help, but no joy.
Please help me figure out why my database connections often do not close. Thank you very much!

I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you mean by "close the session." I believe iBatis is supposed to take care of all that automatically. My understanding is that all the user does is create the sqlMapClient and then use it along with various map files to query and update the database. iBatis does the rest.
