Updated software, now printer won't work

Hi, I updated my software over the weekend to OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and now I can’t use my printer.
It’s an Epson Stylus SX235W and anytime I try to print anything it says it’s not connected. Is anyone else having a similar problem, or know how I can fix the issue?
Apple Support was supposed to call me back during the past hour. I'm still waiting, and I really need to use my printer!

    Your printer is supported, according to OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download - Apple Support (Epson drivers) and About AirPrint - Apple Support (AirPrint). Don't use the cd that came with the printer to install the drivers, those are out of date.
    Delete the /Library/Printers/EPSON and /Library/Caches/Epson folder, delete the printer, and then add it using AirPrint (without installing any drivers) or download the Epson drivers from Software Update or Epson Printer Drivers v2.18 for OS X.

    It says it cannot removed the older version of iTunes.
    Doublechecking before proceeding ... what's the precise text of that message, please? (There's a couple of different ones I can think of that you might be getting.)

  • Downloaded Update Software now Ipod is not working - Please Help

    I downloaded Update Software onto Ipod and now Ipod is not working. It is stating "Itunes detected an Ipod in recovery mode. You must restore this ipod before it can be used in Itunes". Here's the deal I did that now the Ipod just blinks the circle with the line through it and says do not disconnect. Nothing happens. Has the new software corrupted my Ipod? Can anyone Help

  • Update and now printer is not working

    I just downloaded and installed the latest update today and now my printer doesn't work. It's a Canon PIXMA MP460. I downloaded whatever drivers they had available on the Canon site and still no go
    Any other drivers? Or am I screwed?

    I also found out just today that neither of our two printers (a Canon and an Epson) worked after updating to OS X 10.4.11. I shut down my computer and pull out just the power cords from the wall socket. I then plugged them (surge protector plugs) back in and restarted up the computer. Both printers now work. Y'all might want to give it a try.

  • Updated laptop, now keyboard won't work. (G585)

    Laptop is a few weeks old and I've only just got around to registering it. I couldn't register it until it had an update.
    I've downloaded the update and now the keyboard won't work.
    I can use keys to increase/decrease brightness of the screen, but nothing else.
    I've already tried holding down the power button for 10 seconds, it's just made loading times worse.

    Welcome to the Forums.
    If you ran Windows Update and you get the issues on the keyboard can, you try to:
    1. Disable Filter Keys (see this thread)
    2. Boot into Safe Mode and see if the keyboard works. If the keyboard doesn't work, perform a System Restore in Safe Mode.
    3. If System Restore doesn't work, perform a full factory restore by pressing the OneKey Recovery button.

  • Flashed to 1.20 but now printer won't work

    I successfully flashed to 1.20 and everything is working great but with one problem--my printer won't print!  I have reinstalled it, that didn't work.  It is not the printer because it works when hooked up to other computers.  Before I flashed the bios and updated the via drivers the printer worked fine.  
    The pc detects the printer and it says that it is installed and working fine, I never get any error messages when I print, it just dosn't do anything.
    I noticed that when I try to print, in the "see whats printing box" it flashes the printing job really quick with an icon in the left corner that looks like the icon windows uses when it dosn't recognize the file, then nothing happens.
    Had anybody had this problem?
    Any advice would be welcome
    the printer is a Hewlett Packard 710c and the drivers are the ones windows xp comes with.

    Same problem here, only a different model (HP 5150) with the supplied drivers on CD.  I can't get it to print anything and I tried all USB ports
    Anybody out there who knows what I'm doing wrong?

  • Computer restarted halfway through update and now AE won't work

    Hi,
    I was halfway through updating After Effects to 10.01 when my computer decided to go bluescreen on me and now I cannot start After Effects (even after successfully re-doing the update it won't start).
    I get this error message.
    (I see someone else has posted something similar yesterday but two problems on one thread could get messy)
    I am running Windows 7 64bit.
    Is there anyway i can quickly solve this without re-installing?

    Reinstalling is the quickest way and with the CS5 installer it should be perfectly safe. Unlike the crooked CS3 and CS4 installers, it will simply overwrite al lfiles and create a new caps.db, which should fix all issues. You won#t lose any config data, so I'd just do it. You will of course have to run al lthe updates again after that...

  • 2.1 update failed, now Ipod won't work

    So I foolishly paid the 10 bucks to download the new 2.1 update for my ipod touch, and at the end I got an error saying the update failed. So, I have tried to restore, and it gets through the whole process, then gets stuck on "veryfing ipod software...". I'm pretty sure something is wrong because the ipod turns off. Now I can't use my ipod at all. What can I do if I can't get it to restore? THe nearest Apple store is an 8 hour drive?

    Are you trying to upgrade to 2.0 in your new user account as well? If not, try that, so iTunes downloads a new copy of that software installer, just in case the one downloaded on your normal user account is somehow damaged or unusable.
    If the Apple store isn't convenient, you can call Apple or go online to set up mail in service. They basically send you a box to send your iPod back to them, and then send a replacement out.

  • I "upgraded" my software now iphotos won't work

    I did the upgrade to my system, and now I cannot get iphotos to work. I get the following error message:
    Photos must quit because the photo library has become unavailable or its data is corrupt.
    What do I do! Help!

    The only version of iPhoto that works with 10.10.3 is iPhoto 9.6.1 which must be downloaded from the App Store. What version of iPhoto do you have installed?

  • Updated Bios, Now Overclocking Won't Work

     Just updated the Bios from 10.6 to 11.2, changed my overclocking profile to their settings. The base frequency, cpu voltage, ratio, some other voltages can't be changed, they are on auto and won't do anything when I press enter or click on them. I tried the oc genie 2, it didn't change either.
     

     Tried changing the ratio and vcore in the Control Center without any Bios changes, it changed and saved, 4.5 ghz with 1.310v . Then my pc went to blue screen. What would stop the overclocking in this set up:
     Enabled: Internal PLL Overvoltage, Execute Disable Bit, Intel Virtualization Tech
     Disabled: Limit CPUID Maximum, Power Technology, C1E Support, Overspeed Protection, Spread Spectrum
     Also Turbo enabled.

  • HP LaserJet printer won't work following update

    I have just installed the latest Apple update for HP Laserjet printers (9 Sept 2008), and now my HP 2605dn color LaserJet printer won't work. Most applications just quit when I try to print; MS Word just hangs at the dialog box when I press Enter.
    I can access the printer utility OK via the Print Preferences.
    Has anybody any thoughts why this should be so, and how do I proceed to get my printer working again?

    OK, I have just answered (part of) my own question.
    Re-installing the HP Laserjet package has duplicated drivers for most of the HP laserjet printers in my list of drivers. If I select the second entry of the two identical appearances of the drivers for my printers, they start working again; if I select the first appearance they don't work. So now my printers are working again.
    This still doesn't explain why Software Update prompted me to re-install an already installed package. It also gives me the issue of removing all the duplicate entries from my list of drivers, unless I am prepared to live with the clutter and waste of HD space. Any thoughts about how to do this without bombing my printers again?

    I don't think I will be able to give you any points since I am not the OP, but thank you so much for your answer.
    I had a problem accessing the iTunes Store and APP Store last night although I had wi-fi access.  AppleCare had me delete the "system configuration" folder in Preferences and everthing worked fine afterwards.
    But, this morning my printer would not print.  It's Sunday and I can't get through to Epson, so I started a search at this forum and found your response.  Sure enough, even though I did not do a software update, the trashing of the System Configuration folder removed the computer name that always shows in Sharing.
    I typed it back in and now I am able to print.  Again, thank you.
