Upgrade from 2007 to 2008

Hi All
We have to upgrade one of your client's SAP B1 2007 into SAP B1 2008, during 2007 implementation we have created lots of UDF wrote lots of stored procedure , formatted search queries , triggers and views , I want to know will all the customizations removed with upgrade or remain intact?
Thanks

Hi Zubair......
First of all let me tell you this is SAP 8.8 and not 2008.
And whatever customization like UDF, Triggers, SPs remains the same in DB while upgradation.
If any error in FMS comes then simply you have to modify that FMS because when you upgade some of the table that SAP has introduced in SAP DB newly need to take care.......
Rest is fine......

Rahul

The 10.6 Snow Leopard DVD is in the Apple online store. You can get it for $19.99. You will need to be running 10.6.8 to access the App Store to order Lion or Mountain Lion. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    System Requirements for 10.6:
Mac computer with an Intel processor
    1GB of memory
    5GB of available disk space
    DVD drive for installation
Some features require a compatible internet service provider: fees may apply.
You can upgrade direct from 10.6.8 to 10.8 Mountain Lion without going through 10.7 Lion with the Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody. The Model 5,1 will probably run 10.9 Mavricks when it comes out.
10.8 Mountain Lion is a download from the App Store, the price is $19.99.
Mountain Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly.
As for third party programs see this list for compatibility with 10.8 http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
Also Mountain Lion doesn't run any Power PC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under Kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC. Universal and Intel will run under Mountain Lion.
Before Mac switched to Intel processors in 2006 they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need the application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With 10.7 Lion Apple dropped all support for Power PC applications.

    Regards,

    Hi,
Ok i solved the Schedule.aspx issue: each user had to just simply change the view once they logged for the first time , refresh the page.
I am still facing the issue of some projects not opening in Project Pro 2013: one thing i figured out is that these projects have mandatory fields that are empty: the fields were added after projects were created.
Any idea how i can solve this ?
    Thx
    RD
    Hi RD,
i have also done a Migration from Project 2007 to 2013, i have the same issue with the Schedule.aspx.
Is there a way to solve the issue without to change the view for each user. We have 200+ users.
    thx tom

  • Profit Center change from 2007 to 2008 in basic data of WBS elements??

    Dear all,
I am quite desperate - we change the complete CO structure from 2007 to 2008 and I have to reallocate all projects (WBS elements and networks) to new profit centers.
The profit centers are valid as of 1/1/2008 - the old one finish 31/12/2007.
The problem is that the annual closing procedure is done with Actual Results Analysis since we are working with the POC-method for revenue recognition - and I will only do this transaction in 10 days.
If I cannot limit the profit center allocation, I do not know how to avoid that either 2008 postings will be on 2007 profit centers for the first automatic MIGO bookings 2008 or the the last 2007 bookings will be on 2008 profit centers.
Can anyone help on this? Please mail to [email protected]
    Thank you already!
    Bye
    Anne

    Hi,
I would like to add few more lines on this. There can't be multiple controlling area in a project whereas there can be multiple company code for a project. To change controlling area at WBSE level, the controlling area of the project need to be changed. After financial posting into project, it will be difficult to change the controlling area / co code / plant etc. in project structure.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Registry keys after SharePoint Upgrade from 2007 to 2010

    Hi,
I'm working on a SharePoint Server 2010 Farm, where it has been upgraded from 2007, actually I don't have enough information about the history of this upgrade, but
it seems it was an in-place upgrade, and the 12 Hive folder is still there.
Looking at the Windows Registry, I found that Registry Entries for 2007 version is still there: ([HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared
Tools\Web Server Extensions\12.0] ), one of those entries is named "SharePoint" and its value is "Installed".
    Is this a normal situation?
We are trying to install an antivirus for SharePoint but the installation is keep failing the vendor is claiming that this is the issue (2007 registry entries), and
that the upgrade have not been done successfully.
The SharePoint 2010 farm is running perfectly, and I have ran a "LocalUpgradeStatus" command on one of the servers, the output is with no issues.
I have checked below pages and everything is normal:
Check product and patch installation status
    Review database status
    Check upgrade status
Any thoughts? is it normal to have such old registry entries in place? shall I just clean them?
What do you recommend in such situation?
    Hamza AlSughier

    Hi Hamza,
It should be in-place upgrade for your environment, here is a workaround per the following similar post, please confirm with antivirus vendor if the 12 registry files and 12 hive cause this issue, if yes, then backup the 12 registry files and 12 hive, then
after you installed the antivirus successfully you can add the keys back.
Note, Please fully test in your testing environment firstly before touching the production, and production also needs to be fully backed up.

  • Upgrading from 2007 to 2012 - Restoration of 2007 Storage

We are in the process of revieiwing the upgrade process. Our main concern is the ability to use DPM 2012 to restore Backups that were created on DPM 2012.
Is the restoration process supported by DPM2012.
Thank you in advance for your answer.
    Will Sass
Will S. 15 Years in this thing

    Hi,
As long as you are upgrading along the way, then recovery points made on DPM 2007 will be available for restore on DPM 2012.
The proper steps to upgrade from DPM 2007 to DPM 2012 are as follows:
    a) Patch SCDPM 2007 to newest patch level. (kb2250436)
    b) Save copy of DPM2007 SQL database (dpmbackup -db) - copy to network share.
    c) Un-install DPM 2007 - then Upgrade OS Windows 2003 to Windows 2008 - then to Windows 2008 R2.
Upgrading a DPM Server to Windows Server 2008
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd637098.aspx
    d) Install DPM2007 and install latest patch level. (kb2250436)
    e) Copy saved DPM 2007 DPMDB to local drive, then restore DPM 2007 DPMDB.
         (dpmsync -restoredb -dbloc c:\msdpm.bak)
         (dpmsync -sync)
    f) Upgrade SCDPM 2007 to DPM 2010 (Which automatcally included SQL upgrade)
    g) Patch SCDPM 2010 to newest update UR7 (kb2751231)
    h) Update the Agents to DPM 2010 agents
    I) Upgrade SCDPM 2010 to SCDPM 2012.
    j) Install latest DPM 2012 update UR3 (KB2756127)
    k) update the agents to DPM 2012 agents.
    L) Run CC on all data sources.

  • Expiration date not displaying after upgrade from 2007 to 2013

I recently upgraded from MOSS 2007 to 2013.  I have information management set up on a library of InfoPath forms.  For the forms that were created prior to the upgrade, the expiration date is displaying and actually get updated if I modify them.
But none of my forms that have been created after the upgrade, are displaying when the expiration date is, which should be one year from modify date.  If I modify the forms created prior to the upgrade, they reflect the new, update date.
Are these new forms not getting the policy applied to them, and why not?  I am not sure why the older forms are getting updated, but not my new ones.
    Denise E.

    Hi Denise,
According to your description, my understanding is that the Expiration date column was not displaying values after upgrading from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2013.
Per my knowledge, we can only use the date column which is added to the library or list or the Declared Recorded date to set the retention policy, so if the Expiration date is used in the retention policy then the Expiration date should be a column in the
    library or list.
I recommend to check the retention policy in the library and see which column is used in the retention policy as the image below shows:
After that, go to the Library settings to find this column.
Could you please provide screenshots of the retention policy and the columns in the Library settings page?
    Best regards.

  • Upgrade from 2005 and 2008 R2 to 2012 SP2

My project is getting ready to upgrade from SQL Server versions 2005 and 2008 R2 to SQL Server 2012.
Is there any known issues that we should look out for?
For SQL Server 2005, we are only running the Database Engine, Full text search and SQL Server Agent.
For SQL Server 2008 R2 we are running Database Engine, Full Text Search, SQL Server Agent, Analysis Services, Reporting Services, and Integration Services.
    DJ

    Hello,
A new full-text search service was introduced on SQL Server 2008, so about upgrading full-text search from SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server
2012, please read the following article:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms142490(v=sql.110).aspx
On the post-installation tasks, please repopulate the full-text catalogs.
To what edition of SQL Server 2012 you are upgrading? Do you know about the core-based Enterprise licensing
Have you run Upgrade Advisor? Please read the following technical article too:

  • Reports can't be upgraded from 2005 to 2008

I have converted all my rdl reports from 2005 to 2008 through BIDS conversion wizard.I have also converted the XSD file from 2005 to 2008.
When I try to load the report locally(through dotnet code), I am getting below run time error.
The report definition is not valid.  Details: The report definition has an invalid target namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2008/01/reportdefinition' which cannot be upgraded.
Could you please help me to resolve this issue?.

    Hi Dikshan,
As per my understanding, we can directly use Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) Conversion Wizard to upgrade reports from 2005 to 2008. While in the upgrade process, we may run into the failed upgrade process, then we may receive the error message.
Based on my research, the reason why this issue occurred is that there are some assembly still refer to 8.0.0.0 version, other than 9.0.0.0 version. So we should manual change the 8.0.0.0 version string with 9.0.0.0. For more details, please refer to the
following blog post by Brian Hartman:

  • Upgrade from Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 to Windows Server 2012 R2

Hi, I was trying to setup a new DC for our company, originally it's DC is Windows Server 2003 SP2, we decided not tomigrate it and instead build a new one from scratch which is Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. I was able to set it up, perform windows updates,
added roles, perform Domains and Trusts, etc
When suddenly our global standards shifted to Windows Server 2012 R2, so instead of creating another server from scratch, this is the time to upgrade from 2k8 to 2K12 R2, besides the MAPtool which I've downloaded to check for prerequisites, etc, are there
other things I need to be aware of? backups? etc.

  • Planning for Mobile Service Pack Upgrade from 2007 SP2 to SP6

    Hello Mobile Gurus,
We are planning for upgrading mobile from 2007 SP2 to SP6. Can anyone of you guess a time line for achieving this?
I mean, how long will it take in dev env to upgrade commstation, mrs, mdw etc. apart from upgrading the field laptops?
    thanks

    Hello Mahesh
had missed 5th point. ie Rollout to the client laptops . the amount of time it takes will be based on the kind of customization and kind of issues that you face in your application . etc.
Repostiroy upgrade from n to n+1 release will take approx 1-2 hours (with out additinal language) and it is correct.
I have given you the rough estimates so that you will get a fair idea how much time it is going to take.
    Best Regards
