Upgraded to 1.4 now applets dont work

I used to be able to work with applets in my web browser.
Now since i have upgraded to 1.4 it seems none of them work any more. Though I can compile and run java apps
Any ideas?

If you are using swing in your applets then they wont work in IE 'coz IE uses the
m$ jvm. U need the sun's jvm if u are to run applets using swing properly on IE.

I doubt they have a converter for 1.4 but you can see.
Convert your applet html code and your applets will run fine on IE.
If you are unable to run on Netscape then it must be specific instance of the problem.
In that case - what is the exact error you get ? Youcan see this using the "Java Console"
option in the menubar.

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Ios4 update failed on 3gs and now phone dont work at all

so i updated as per apple instructions and update failed no code given and my iphone 3gs is now dead as in blank wiped clean but a black screen with white apple cant even pwer off and not recognized as connected to computer to restore or try updating again. this is my only phone so apple cant call me back for support

Ok this is wat happened to my iPhone 3GS after I opted to upgrade to iOS4.0:
After the upgrade file finished downloading, the installation process got initiated. However, after a few minutes, the process crashed throwing up an Error 1602. My phone just displayed the connect to itunes logo. I did a hard reset (by pushing the home button & the power on/off button simultaneously) and the phone entered the recovery mode (or DFU or watever it is called). I reopened itunes and connected the iphone again. This time, I was told that the phone has been detected on recovery mode. I clicked RESTORE & it told me that the phone would be restored to factory settings,which I chose. The recovery process started and after a coupla minutes, I got another error. This time it was Error 1601.
After spending a good 2 hrs researching the internet, I found the solution that did work for me. Here goes...U would need another computer for this (not the one u have been using to sync ur iphone with):
1) Install itunes 9.2 on another computer.
2) Connect ur iphone (while it displays the connect to itunes logo).
3) itunes will detect an iphone on recovery mode.
4) Click Restore. itunes will tell u that ur phone can be restored to factory settings. Choose OK.
5) itunes will automatically download iOS 4.0
6) once the download is complete, installation of iOS 4 should start immediately. if for some weird reason it doesnt initiate, press shift+restore and select the installation file (it is located in C:\Documenst & Settings\User\Application Data\Apple Computer\itunes\iphone software updates\xxxxx.ipsw )
7) Once u've selected this file, installation will start & ull get a progress bar on ur iphone as well.
8) The installation should come around fine & after a coupla automatic reboots, ur iPhone should now be up & running with iOS 4.0
9) Itunes will ask you to name ur iphone. at this point, eject the iphone from the computer & connect it to the other computer (the one which u previously used to sync the iphone with). open itunes & ull get 2 options: Create a new iphone or restore backup from "Sandy's iPhone" ur iphone's name. Choose the 2nd option & watch ur iphone being restored with all ur backup.\
10) once the sync is complete, eject & enjoy iOS 4

My swing applets dont work in IE!!! Anyone can help?

Hi to everyone, I`ve read a lot about this subject this last week,
but I don`t seem able to solve my problems, that are kind of a mistery,
and any help will be wonderful.
I`ve developped some swing applets with KAWAPro v 4.01. I had no problems running them on the appletviewer, but when I tried to do it on the IE6 I found that it didn`t work at all. The message from the window
help dialog was "class Myclass not found", and when I opened the Java console I found the message that follows:

And this happens with any applet I want to run locally, even with those I`ve downloaded from the sun site. But I can see perfectly any swing applet remotly when I access to the sun www pages.
I tried including ARCHIVE = "rt.jar" in the HTML code, with rt.jar the jar file that includes the javax.swing.JApplet class. Then things changed, and the message I get from the Java console is:

it sounds like you don't have the swing classes on the classpath - I don't really understand how this would happen (unless you have a pre-131 environment)

I did the upgrade but my apps now don't work. Any suggestions?

I click on them, then appear to start then return to start screen. If I delete them and reinstall then they work. But I don't want to do that for all 30...

I recommend doing a full restore. It will take some time. Make sure you back up the phone first. Then in iTunes, click on the phone in the device list on the left and then click on Restore. Not a guarantee but this works a number of times.

Applet dont work in java runable browser

This is the HTML file i wrote. The class Start.class
is in the same folder but if i call the HTML page there arrives a message class Start.class not found. Maybe it�s really trivial but i cant find a solution. Can anybody help me?

Does your class implements Applet or JApplet ?
I have the same problem when using JApplet, It only runs with appletviewer but no in a browser.

Upgraded to ios 7, now password not working. Can't restore my ipad because I must turn off Find My iPhone, but I can't because I'm locked out. HELP!!

Now, it won't accept my password, and I'm unable to restore using iTunes because it says I must turn off Find My iPhone feature. However, I can't turn off this feature if I can't unlock my iPad. Upgraded to Windows 10 - Now Roboform not working in Firefox

This was on their support page.
There are also some workarounds mentioned here.
Also, Roboform makes no statement that they support Windows 10 yet.

I did the free upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on my home computer.
I use Firefox and RoboForm (form filler, password keeper, etc.). The RoboForm toolbar is there but it has a little red X int he lower left corner on the icon which you click to access the settings.
If I click on it and choose Options and User Data I can see the location of my data file. However, it's as though the program can't access it.
I have tried moving the file, resetting things, etc. but only get error messages or "RoboForm User Data is not Defined." Won't let me create a new account. Nothing.
This has been a three hour frustration for me. Everything was fine before the upgrade.

After upgrading to Firexfox 35.0 all vine videos, instagram videos and some webplayer videos dont work anymore.
I get messages like:

Before I start, I will like to point out some things Ive tried already so this doesnt end up being a back and forth of things already tried.
*Ive uninstalled adobe flash player
*Ive tried the whole
media.windows-media-foundation.enabled to false or to true
*Ive gone into safe mode and nothing
*Ive tried toggling off the plug-ins to see if anything I have problems with works. Nothing.

Whenever I would terminate/end process my plugin from my task manager in 34.0 EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING would not work including every vine video and instgram video, it would either show that grey message that says the plugin crashed or it would not work. They would all work again when I refreshed the page. Everything, in 34.0 in my firefox was using the flash plugin.
Now, as I stated above I thought it was just some kind of webplayer and firefox 35.0 conflict that was causing these problems.
Until I saw this:

IS because of their file extension, their file types.

In Conclusion, what gives??
-In 34.0 Everything worked.
-If I terminated/ended process the Flash plugin in 34.0 everything would be affected by it , either by not working anymore or showing me that grey crash message.
-This all started when I upgraded to 35.0
-Has nothing to do with webplayer conflicting with 35.0 as proven above.
-The reason for all of this not working is the type of video extension they have. Judging from the examples I gave of the things I cant play, it would seem I cant play mp4, flv and whatever vine uses. Which I think its mp4 as well.
Anyways, how do I fix all this so it works like it did before I upgraded to 35.0

I looked at that but it only shows for Windows 8.1 , 8.0 , 7 , i have Vista , 64 bit Ultimate , would the Windows 7 one work ?? , or am i out of luck ?
And what plug-in icon in the address bar ?? , i don't see anything that pertains to any plug-ins

Upgraded to iTunes 6 - now iTunes won't work!

I have an older G4 and have been running iTunes since I upgraded to OSX about a year and a half ago. Never any problems. Just recently got an iPod from a friend and have been using that with no probs. for about 2 weeks. I was promped to update both iTunes and iPod software and did so like I always have. Now iTunes wont open at all. no error message, nothing. I trashed my old iTunes and re-installed a new one, no good. All of my software is updated. I am running OSX 10.3.9. I have seen many of the same postings but they all seem to be coming from PC users... hope someone can point me in the right direction.

I had the same problem - upgraded to ITunes 6 and suddenly the application stopped working. I also tried uninstalling, and reinstalling old versions as well as v6. I called Apple, and they had me set up a test user to see if it was a systemwide failure (if it was just the upgraded Itunes on my main user that was affected, then the basic Itunes available for the test user should be fine). But it was systemwide, so I had to back up all data and reinstall the operating system, then run a software update to get my system back up to speed. After the software update, I ran a disc permissions repair to the drive (available under "Applications", then "Utilities", then "Disk Utility"), which is recommended after each install of software or software updates (I didn't know this, being somewhat new to Mac). But now Itunes 6 works fine, with no problems! Hope this helps.

I dont know what else to say about it. I updated and now all this is happening and it didnt before my update to Firefox5. I have several site I use daily and I have gone in and marked them to allow popups and they just dont work. The sites are My Yearbook...Kia Financeing...and a few more. And also I am finding that I get a no response a lot!

I am sorry you are not in a position to replace the iPad. It is stating the obvious, but nothing lasts forever - especially something like an original iPad. IMHO, there is nothing you can do to address the issues you have posted about.

Hi , does anyone know how to fix the problem with imessages. Sometimes it works and more often than not it doesn't. There's been an update for OSX ML which addresses the issue for installing Windows 8 on bootcamp.
It's NOT recommended that you Upgrade.. However, the way to get the drivers is:
You'll need an external USB drive formatted as FAT for this.
1) In OSX, start the Bootcamp Assistant
2) Press Next
3) UNTICK 'Remove WIndows 7 or Later Version'
4) TICK Download the Latest Windows Support Software from Apple
5) Insert USB drive
6) Press CONTINUE
The drivers should download, and copy a WIndowsSupport folder onto the USB drive.
I did notice that Windows 8 still requires beta drivers for some aspects such as VGA (the Radio HD Card), which you can get on the AMD website.
Futhermore, why are you using Windows 8 "32" bit when you blatently have a powerful 64bit?
