Upgrading from 2000+ to 3000+

Hey all, after a long hiatus, and accepting that msi and Via combined with Ati isn't exactly the best match, I eventually got a stable system. Now I went and changed out the CPU to upgrade as shown in the header (2000 to 3000). Now the system crashes on anything that has to do with graphics within seconds of starting or even loading the program. The KT4V BIOS ver 1.8 claimed to have the Barton 3000+ support added, and I figure ver 1.9 wouldn't take that away. I set the FSB to 166 and left the ratio on Auto. I tried removing and reinstalling the graphics driver. I also had to reactivate windows cause it sensed a change in hardware.
Any suggestions?

Well, I took out the Infineon ram chip, cleared and reset the CMOS. Still had crashing problems with 3DMark2k1SE and 3DMark03, so took out the Samsung ram and put Infineon back in, ran the two above benchmarks, as well as Aquamark, plus the demos with no problems. Then I tried the Far Cry demo and again crashed on load up - but don't know if this was game related or hardware. So I ran Nascar2K3 and turned some laps but didn't seem to have any prob. One thing I found surprising was the benchmark for 3D2k1se produced about 11250 using the 2000+, and only got 12500 using the 3000+. I expected something higher. Same with 3DMark03 - about 4255 with 2000+ and 4500 with 3000+. Any comments, or is this in line with the Hardware I've got? Will being short 512 mb ram chip make that much of a difference?

  • Urgent - steps need to done, when MS SQL upgraded from 2000 to 2005

SQL server is upgraded from MS SQL 2000 to MS SQL 2005.
Please let me know the steps ned to be performed at XI .

    hi satya kiran,
    check the below blogs,
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c90ecf8d-0d01-0010-4aa3-e6fc4da46bb3
The process to perform the migration you describe is relatively easy. While note 799058 is relevant, you should first have a look at the System Copy Guide, which applies to your system. These guides can be found on SAP Service Marketplace:
    “Release & Upgrade Info”  “Installation & Upgrade Guides”  “SAP NetWeaver”  “SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s)”
Click on “Installation”, a new window opens. Check section “Installation - SAP NetWeaver Systems”
You will see links to system copy guides for Service Release1 and Service Release 2, and separate entries for ABAP only systems, Java only systems and double stacks.
For example: the SR2 guide for ABAPJava has the title: System Copy for SAP - Systems Based on SAP - NetWeaver 7.0 SR2 - ABAPJava”
Each of this guides has a brief chapter on copying a MSSQL database. Please carefully read the guide and the SAP notes it refers to. The overall procedure for an ABAP only system will look like this:
    1. Apply note 600027 (change SQL Server collation) to your existing SQL2000 database. You HAVE to perform this step before moving the database to the new hardware.
    2. Prepare your new servers (Windows, SQL2005 installation following the SAP guidance on collation et cetera).
    3. Detach the SQL2000 database from your old system, copy the datafiles to the new machine and attach the database to the new SQL2005 server.
    4. Follow the system copy guide and run sapinst to install the SAP central instance and configure the database.
Copying the Java stack is a little bit complicated, because you have to create an export of your Java data on your old system first. This is explained in great detail in the system copy guide.

  • OS upgrade from 2000 to 2003 possible?

We are running OS Service Release 2000.4.3asr6 and CCM 4.1(3)sr4d. We want to upgrade CCM to Version 4.3(1), but it requires OS 2003.1.1 prior to the upgrade.
Is it possible to upgrade OS 2000 to 2003?
    Thank you in advance.
    Zeek

    Hi Jason,
We have to upgrade a callmanager 4.1(3) to a 4.3(1).
The CMM 4.3(1) supports only the OS 2003.1.1 or greather.
You recommand to make a freh install on the server and restore the datas by using the a Bars backup.
But is it possible to restore a BARS from a version 4.1 to a 4.3 ?
I think that to restore a bars, you must to it on an exactly version of callmanager ?
    Thanks you in advance,

  • I recently upgraded from ipad 1 to the new ipad.  Somehow all of my old deleted emails (3000 ) keep showing up on my new ipad in clusters of 50.  How do I stop  this from happening.

I recently upgraded from ipad 1 to the new ipad.  After synching my new ipad, all of my deleted emails (3000+) keep showing up on my new ipad in my mail section.  How can I stop  this?

    Thanks for responding.
I followed that 'How-To' when I did the transfer and watched iTunes process the backup, it also showed the 'Last Backup' date correctly at the bottom of the iTunes Summary screen. I did a restore from backup to my new iPad and on checking the iPad 4 it seemed that the transfer process duly transferred my books, documents, apps etc but did not transfer my photos and videos (they are all clicked to be included in the sync).
I have now clicked on each video title in iTunes and it tells me that it cannot locate any of the videos!
It seems for some bizarre reason that the transfer process has transferred some of the content of my iPad 1 and deleted other content - I don't get it!
I also have the same content (videos and photos) on my iPhone 4 and have connected that to iTunes, whereby it immediately did a backup and sync, however I still get iTunes telling me that it cannot locate the videos ... it's as though the backup that was taken does not exist - or does 'backup' not mean 'backup'?.

  • Upgrading to SQL 2005 from 2000?

I have a very large database in 2000 and I'm thinking of
    requesting that
it be moved to 2005. I've heard that 2005 is faster and I've
    seen the
interface for it and it looks like it combines Query analyzer
    with the
standard interface tools. Enterprise Manager is just so
    limited and clunky.
Do you think I'd run into problems with my site if I had them
    update to
a new SQL database? Any pitfalls? Warnings? What should I
    look out for?
Is it worth it for the new security and interface features?
    Thanks

I would say wait a short while longer and upgrade to SQL
    Server 2008. It
seems pointless going through the upgrade now when the next
    version is
    already on our doorstep.
A word of warning. There is no downgrade option once you have
    upgraded so
run the built in Upgrade Advisor before you do anything (if
    you have that
option) and also check that all your T-SQL code is ANSI
    compliant as
non-ANSI compliant code will not work in SQL 2005 or 2008.
    See:
    http://www.sql-server-performance.com/faq/query_uses_nonansi_outerjoin_p1.aspx
    for more info.
Also, remember that you will not have the option of
    scheduling any DTS
packages from 2000 as these will need to be re-built as SSIS
    packages if you
want them to run them as Jobs, although you can still execute
    them manually
(if that is a feasible option) with the assistance of the DTS
    add-on that is
    a free download from Microsoft.
Just be very careful that all is in place before you upgrade
    and make sure
you take a full database backup before you upgrade (including
    system DB's)
in case you need to re-install 2000 and rebuild the
    databases.

  • Would like to upgrade to Dragon Naturally Speaking 11 from DNS 6 (which would also entail a necessary upgrade from Windows 2000 to 7) but understand after all this expense and trouble, DNS upgrade may not be compatible with Firefox 6?

    Question
Would like to upgrade to Dragon Naturally Speaking 11 from DNS 6 (which would also entail a necessary upgrade from Windows 2000 to 7) but understand after all this expense and trouble, DNS upgrade may not be compatible with Firefox 6?
Main priority is voice activation upgrade. Ideas about how to proceed appreciated!

AFAIK, it's been over three years since a WinXP laptop or desktop PC has been sold; I specifically bought a laptop in June 2008 because it was being clearanced by that retail chain to meet Microsoft's deadline, and got it real cheap. It was tagged for the store manager to purchase, but he let me have it because I exceeded his expectations for the services I performed for his store and thought I deserved it. Anything that wasn't made for Vista-compatibility will be very iffy with Win7, IMO - so that basically rules out anything that was made before like Oct or Nov 2007.
Unless another DNS 11 user happens to see this thread and can verify whether it works in Firefox 6.0 or not, I don't what to recommend except for you doing a web search to see what other DNS / Firefox users have to say about compatibility.

  • Upgrade from SQL 2000 to 2005

In our test environment, we are on 2005 SP01 PL34, and are
upgrading SQL Enterprise Edition from the 2000 to the 2005 SP2 edition.
The SQL upgrade advisor has given some error messages
in relation to SAP tables, as per below. Should we be concerned about
these, or will they have any effect on upgrading from SAP B1 2005 to
    2007 versions?
Remove references to undocumented system tables
Many system tables that were undocumented in prior releases have changed or no longer exist; therefore, using these tables may cause errors after upgrading to SQL server 2005.
    Affected tables
    Object Name : TmSP_GetDbSizeByDrives
    Object Type : P
    System Table : spt_value
    Object Name : TmSP_CheckDiskSpace
The above messages point to SAP stored procedures.

I believe all those SP are temporary SP for you previous upgrade.  Therefore. it should be no problem to upgrade your test database first.  You have to back up the pre upgrade database anyway,  you should be safe.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Upgrading from Excel 97 to Excel 2000

Recently, I upgraded from excel 97 to excel 2000.
Since then, all the Labview vi's I've used to work with excel are no more executable (broken wire) on my computer.
However when I opened these vi's on another computer (also with excel 2000) there are no errors.
How can I make these vi's work on my computer?
Are there something missing during excel 2000 installation? How can I check that?
I'm using Labview 5.1 under Windows NT
    Thanks

If you are referring to the "Write table to XL.vi" try doing the following:
    1) Go into the block diagram and open up the vi "Open Excel and make visible.vi"
    2) Right mouse click on Automation refnum (The label is titled exel._application)
    3) Check to see that under the area "Select ActiveX class" that excel is
    selected.
If not you will have to browse through your directories and locate
    excel8.olb for
excel97 (I don't know what it is for excel 2000).
    4) After that, go to the property and invoke nodes and reconnect the wires.

  • Sound glitches after upgrading from win 2000 to win

    Hello!
I have this sound card since 2 years and never had any problems... but since I've upgraded from windows 2000 to windows xp, there's a lot of glitches in the sound coming from the card (it happens with all softwares I use). I'm using a sound blaster audigy 2 nx (latest drivers) on a P4 2GHz with 52 Mb Ram. Thanks in advance!

What version of the Oracle ODBC driver are you using? 8.01 is not a driver version-- it should be something like 8.1.7.x.y (assuming you're using one of the 8.1.7 Oracle ODBC drivers).
Since Oracle desupported the 8.1.7 database almost a year ago, do you have the option of upgrading the Oracle client to a supported release (probably 9.2 in your case)?
Unfortunately, I don't know what your particular problem is, but I have certainly seen problems mixing the latest and greatest versions of applications with older versions of the Oracle client.

  • Is it really possible to upgrade from a Treo 650 to a Treo 750?

I am not a very happy customer at the moment, but any help would be greatly appreciated. I upgraded from my old Palm Tungsten to a Zire, then to a Cingular Treo 650, combining three devices into one. I have since discovered that the Treo 650 seems to have a faulty transmission mode, as I can rarely be clearly understood by whomever I call. Am on the second (or third, I have lost track) and continue to have the same problem. I get five bars of reception but can't be understood on the other end. A bit of a problem when one is trying to call 911. Am constantly told I am "breaking up". The repair shop says it "Can't duplicate the problem". OK, then I do not want to give up all the info I have stored in the fool thing, and the 750 seems to have a different system, so I thought I would try that. All the stuff I could find seemed to indicate it wouldn't be a problem to upgrade. When the 750 arrived, I tried to install the software from the CD on my Windows XP computer. No dice. Setup encounters an error and closes. Can't even look at the files, because setup tries to run any time I access the CD. From any drive.  Gave it to my girlfiend to check on her computer, and the CD seemed to run fine. Other CDs work just fine on my computer. Must be some kind of conflict, but what? Tried calling the AT&T number that suggested they could help with setup, and was first connected to the business center, they routed me to the laptop center, who routed me to the network center, who said they would have to bring in the Palm customer service and connected me to a Mac guy that dumped me back to a menu that took me to someone for whom English is a second language with whom I was trying to communicate over a very poor satellite connection. They made no sense anyway. telling me first that I couldn't have two desktops running (wrong, my girlfriend has my old Zire and the CD worked fine) and then insisting that the serial number on my device had to start with a P, when it clearly does not have any alpha characters in it. Gave up on that route of assistance. Managed to get the new ActiveSync installed from my girlfriends computer over the network. Great. Now let's get my 650 synced with Outlook (which I have not used at home) and see if we can move on. Nope. First I have to update Outlook 2000 from the old Win98 to my current XP. Find the old CD, and square that away. OK, now sync to Outlook. Nope. The sync program gives an error, saying it will only sync with Outlook 98, 2000, and XP(2002). Good grief. I have Outlook 2000, and the software apparently does not recognize it. If the Palm doesn't work, there is no reason for me to keep this phone, and I am very close to returning it and abandoning the Palm entirely when I upgrade to something that works, although I dread re-entering all that information.

Thanks for the feedback. Today I installed an Enterprise version of Office 2007 I purchased a while back, but had not yet installed. Microsoft presented a few challenges, but they were quickly resolved. I then downloaded the appropriate conduit from Palm, and synced the 650 with the handheld overwriting the computer. Then used Active Destop to sync the 750. Satisfied I had moved as much info as possible, I called AT&T and had them move the phone number to the new Treo.
Bonus! When the guy at AT&T called me on the new phone to verify it, he said it sounded better than my landline.
Sorry for the streaming paragraph. When it is late I tend to write like I think.
