Uploading technique

Hi,
Please let me know the uploading techniques for Equipment BoM, Equipment Task List & General Task List.
Regards,
Maheswaran.

Depends on the data You can use LSMW or BDC.If data are simple with no big LT etc you can very well use LSMW even for task list it is possible.You need to create task list in create mode then load the operations in change mode.But try using bdc if you wan t to hurry up.

    Dear Experts,
    As i am very new to SAP HCM. Can any one explain about data uploading techniques in HCM point of view.

  • Master data upload into SAP system

    Hello,
    I want to know if there is any standard method to upload material master, customer master, vendor master and finance master data into SAP system.
    I am not referring to LSMW's, BDC's and using BAPI's. I am aware of standard programs like RMDATIND for material master upload, RFBIDE00 for customer master upload and RFBIKR00 for vendor master upload. But these are using direct input method and SAP recommends this only for testing purpose. I am not sure if this could be really used in actual live scenarios.
    From some other posts in the forum, I came to know about some transactions like BDLR, SXDB and BMVO. Can some one tell me how to use these T.Codes?
    If some one has any detailed documentation on these T.codes or in general standard master data upload techniques please send it to [email protected]
    Thanks in advance,
    CMV

    Hi,
    Define the following attributes, using the F4 input help and F1 field help:
    Report
    Name of a registered program for this program type
    Variant
    You can only specify a variant with programs that are started directly.
    With direct input, data from the data transfer file undergoes the same checks as with the online transaction and is then transferred directly into the SAP System. The database is updated directly with the transferred data.
    For the documentation of other transactions please refer the correponding program documentation..which is more helpful,

  • Time management data upload

    Hi,
    I have to design a data uploading strategy for the HR infotype 2011(time management). Am new to HR.
    1. let me know in which tabe can i see the fields for this infotype.
    2. Which upload technique is best for Time management data .
    3. We are taking the upload excel from a time machine where time-in and time-out is supposed to be maintained. But suppose if a person coomes and checks-in but forgets to check-out, then his entries for chek-out wont be  uploaded into the excel but rest other will be .
      can at this time I can code in to make the check-out to be +8 (eg he comes @ 2 and no check-out time then can we give check-out time to be 10 ), just for the moment . The logic will be told laater .
      Also is it configurable by the functional team ? to induce this logic .
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi abap,
    1. let me know in which tabe can i see the fields for this infotype.
      Table is PA2011.
    2. Which upload technique is best for Time management data .
    Make a z program,
    and use HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION
    to upload data into this infotype.

  • How to create Links in a cell  to other Excel docs Cell  in Planning layout

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement to replace an existing forecasting process using normal Excel with BPS with Excel in place. One difficulty I came across is that the existing Excel input template has cells with links to many other excel files so users does not to open all other Excel documents and copy and paste the figures in.
    I am stuck on replicate this function in BPS as I cannot create links to to other  Excel directly in a cell in BPS Excel layout. My initial idea is to create a Macro to copy the data across but in deeper thought this might not be the best solution as the number of excel link can be a lot and the name and location of these files might change quite frequently and I cannot hard code it in the macro..
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Hi Marc,
    The reason to use BPS is once the data is in the layout, we need to run the data in a  true forecast / simulation model (i.e. compare actuals, copy data between differnt planning versions, Foreign Exchange rate planning , allocation, revaluation, etc...) on a different hierarchy level.
    The problem is the starting point data is scattered in lots of other Excel file from local drives from different users. I guess this is the same reason why the csv file upload technique exist, (i.e. to load data to the layout )but in my case the data location needed to be very dynamic and comes from large / different source of data.
    I have now developed a solution to reference data from cells in different Excel sheet to the layout. Once set up, it should be able to save users significant amount of time to bring the base data into the layout, especially if their data is source from many ither Excel files.

    Danny

  • LSMW and Audit

    I was told by Basis and other security consultants that there is no audit trail with LSMW. What does this mean? I hear arguments from users that all their documents show who created it and when and that for them this is their audit trail. So what does it really mean when the gurus say that "LSMW can change data without audit trail"?
    Thanks in advance!

    Not sure what that sort of comment means... I guess it all depends on how LSMW is used. LSMW, after all, is just a "shell", used to configure and employ various standard upload techniques (BAPI. direct input, bdc...) For instance, if you employ LSMW to generate batch input sessions, these will of course have to be run by someone (yourself, or the user you employ to generate the session). Both the bdc-generating activity as well as the execution of the session itself will, of course, be logged and can subsequently be traced. I don't believe LSMW flies under the radar in this respect.

  • ODP1 configuration

    Dear Friends
    We need to do OPD1 configuration for  more then 2000 items. As this is a part of Configuration activity we are not able to use any of the data uploading technique like BDC / or LSMW.
    Can anyone suggest way for mass uploading  of data.

    Dear shalsa,
    In IW41 T-code you can add whether Repair order Document number /Service Order number..Mostly you can maintain Service order number....
    You should click on Compleate Bussiness tab..System will Assign for that Service order status Compleated.
    Then you can Run the DP91.

  • Capture Web Cam image in APEX and Upload into the Database

    Overview
    By using a flash object, you should be able to interface with a usb web cam connected to the client machine. Their are a couple of open source ones that I know about, but the one I chose to go with is by Taboca Labs and is called CamCanvas. This is released under the MIT license, and it is at version 0.2, so not very mature - but in saying that it seems to do the trick. The next part is to upload a snapshot into the database - in this particular implementation, it is achieved by taking a snapshot, and putting that data into the canvas object. This is a new HTML5 element, so I am not certain what the IE support would be like. Once you have the image into the canvas, you can then use the provided function convertToDataURL() to convert the image into a Base64 encoded string, which you can then use to convert into to a BLOB. There is however one problem with the Base64 string - APEX has a limitation of 32k for and item value, so can't be submitted by normal means, and a workaround (AJAX) has to be implemented.
    Part 1. Capturing the Image from the Flash Object into the Canvas element
    Set up the Page
    Required Files
    Download the tarball of the webcam library from: https://github.com/taboca/CamCanvas-API-/tarball/master
    Upload the necessary components to your application. (The flash swf file can be got from one of the samples in the Samples folder. In the root of the tarball, there is actually a swf file, but this seems to be a different file than of what is in the samples - so I just stick with the one from the samples)
    Page Body
    Create a HTML region, and add the following:
        <div class="container">
           <object  id="iembedflash" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"
    codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,0,0" width="320" height="240">
                <param name="movie" value="#APP_IMAGES#camcanvas.swf" />
                <param name="quality" value="high" />
              <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" />
                <embed  allowScriptAccess="always"  id="embedflash" src="#APP_IMAGES#camcanvas.swf" quality="high" width="320" height="240"
    type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" mayscript="true"  />
        </object>
        </div>
    <p><a href="javascript:captureToCanvas()">Capture</a></p>
    <canvas style="border:1px solid yellow"  id="canvas" width="320" height="240"></canvas>That will create the webcam container, and an empty canvas element for the captured image to go into.
    Also, have a hidden unprotected page item to store the Base64 code into - I called mine P2_IMAGE_BASE64
    HTML Header and Body Attribute
    Add the Page HTML Body Attribute as:
    onload="init(320,240)"
    JavaScript
    Add the following in the Function and Global Variable Declarations for the page (mostly taken out of the samples provided)
    //Camera relations functions
    var gCtx = null;
    var gCanvas = null;
    var imageData = null;
    var ii=0;
    var jj=0;
    var c=0;
    function init(ww,hh){
         gCanvas = document.getElementById("canvas");
         var w = ww;
         var h = hh;
         gCanvas.style.width = w + "px";
         gCanvas.style.height = h + "px";
         gCanvas.width = w;
         gCanvas.height = h;
         gCtx = gCanvas.getContext("2d");
         gCtx.clearRect(0, 0, w, h);
         imageData = gCtx.getImageData( 0,0,320,240);
    function passLine(stringPixels) {
         //a = (intVal >> 24) & 0xff;
         var coll = stringPixels.split("-");
         for(var i=0;i<320;i++) {
              var intVal = parseInt(coll);
              r = (intVal >> 16) & 0xff;
              g = (intVal >> 8) & 0xff;
              b = (intVal ) & 0xff;
              imageData.data[c+0]=r;
              imageData.data[c+1]=g;
              imageData.data[c+2]=b;
              imageData.data[c+3]=255;
              c+=4;
         if(c>=320*240*4) {
              c=0;
              gCtx.putImageData(imageData, 0,0);
    function captureToCanvas() {
         flash = document.getElementById("embedflash");
         flash.ccCapture();
         var canvEle = document.getElementById('canvas');
         $s('P2_IMAGE_BASE64', canvEle.toDataURL());//Assumes hidden item name is P2_IMAGE_BASE64
         clob_Submit();//this is a part of part (AJAX submit value to a collection) two
    }In the footer region of the page (which is just a loading image to show whilst the data is being submitted to the collection [hidden by default]) :<img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#processing3.gif" id="AjaxLoading"
    style="display:none;position:absolute;left:45%;top:45%;padding:10px;border:2px solid black;background:#FFF;" />If you give it a quick test, you should be able to see the webcam feed and capture it into the canvas element by clicking the capture link, in between the two elements - it might through a JS error since the clob_Submit() function does not exist yet.
    *Part 2. Upload the image into the Database*
    As mentioned in the overview, the main limitation is that APEX can't submit values larger than 32k, which I hope the APEX development team will be fixing this limitation in a future release, the workaround isn't really good from a maintainability perspective.
    In the sample applications, there is one that demonstrates saving values to the database that are over 32k, which uses an AJAX technique: see http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/application-express/packaged-apps-090453.html#LARGE.
    *Required Files*
    From the sample application, there is a script you need to upload, and reference in your page. So you can either install the sample application I linked to, or grab the script from the demonstration I have provided - its called apex_save_large.js.
    *Create a New Page*
    Create a page to Post the large value to (I created mine as 1000), and create the following process, with the condition that Request = SAVE. (All this is in the sample application for saving large values).declare
         l_code clob := empty_clob;
    begin
         dbms_lob.createtemporary( l_code, false, dbms_lob.SESSION );
         for i in 1..wwv_flow.g_f01.count loop
              dbms_lob.writeappend(l_code,length(wwv_flow.g_f01(i)),wwv_flow.g_f01(i));
         end loop;
         apex_collection.create_or_truncate_collection(p_collection_name => wc_pkg_globals.g_base64_collection);
         apex_collection.add_member(p_collection_name => wc_pkg_globals.g_base64_collection,p_clob001 => l_code);
         htmldb_application.g_unrecoverable_error := TRUE;
    end;I also created a package for storing the collection name, which is referred to in the process, for the collection name:create or replace
    package
    wc_pkg_globals
    as
    g_base64_collection constant varchar2(40) := 'BASE64_IMAGE';
    end wc_pkg_globals;That is all that needs to be done for page 1000. You don't use this for anything else, *so go back to edit the camera page*.
    *Modify the Function and Global Variable Declarations* (to be able to submit large values.)
    The below again assumes the item that you want to submit has an item name of 'P2_IMAGE_BASE64', the condition of the process on the POST page is request = SAVE, and the post page is page 1000. This has been taken srtaight from the sample application for saving large values.//32K Limit workaround functions
    function clob_Submit(){
              $x_Show('AjaxLoading')
              $a_PostClob('P2_IMAGE_BASE64','SAVE','1000',clob_SubmitReturn);
    function clob_SubmitReturn(){
              if(p.readyState == 4){
                             $x_Hide('AjaxLoading');
                             $x('P2_IMAGE_BASE64').value = '';
              }else{return false;}
    function doSubmit(r){
    $x('P2_IMAGE_BASE64').value = ''
         flowSelectAll();
         document.wwv_flow.p_request.value = r;
         document.wwv_flow.submit();
    }Also, reference the script that the above code makes use of, in the page header<script type="text/javascript" src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#apex_save_large.js"></script>Assuming the script is located in workspace images, and not associated to a specific app. Other wise reference #APP_IMAGES#
    *Set up the table to store the images*CREATE TABLE "WC_SNAPSHOT"
    "WC_SNAPSHOT_ID" NUMBER NOT NULL ENABLE,
    "BINARY" BLOB,
    CONSTRAINT "WC_SNAPSHOT_PK" PRIMARY KEY ("WC_SNAPSHOT_ID")
    create sequence seq_wc_snapshot start with 1 increment by 1;
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER "BI_WC_SNAPSHOT" BEFORE
    INSERT ON WC_SNAPSHOT FOR EACH ROW BEGIN
    SELECT seq_wc_snapshot.nextval INTO :NEW.wc_snapshot_id FROM dual;
    END;
    Then finally, create a page process to save the image:declare
    v_image_input CLOB;
    v_image_output BLOB;
    v_buffer NUMBER := 64;
    v_start_index NUMBER := 1;
    v_raw_temp raw(64);
    begin
    --discard the bit of the string we dont need
    select substr(clob001, instr(clob001, ',')+1, length(clob001)) into v_image_input
    from apex_collections
    where collection_name = wc_pkg_globals.g_base64_collection;
    dbms_lob.createtemporary(v_image_output, true);
    for i in 1..ceil(dbms_lob.getlength(v_image_input)/v_buffer) loop
    v_raw_temp := utl_encode.base64_decode(utl_raw.cast_to_raw(dbms_lob.substr(v_image_input, v_buffer, v_start_index)));
    dbms_lob.writeappend(v_image_output, utl_raw.length(v_raw_temp),v_raw_temp);
    v_start_index := v_start_index + v_buffer;
    end loop;
    insert into WC_SNAPSHOT (binary) values (v_image_output); commit;
    end;Create a save button - add some sort of validation to make sure the hidden item has a value (i.e. image has been captured). Make the above conditional for request = button name so it only runs when you click Save (you probably want to disable this button until the data has been completely submitted to the collection - I haven't done this in the demonstration).
    Voila, you should have now be able to capture the image from a webcam. Take a look at the samples from the CamCanvas API for extra effects if you wanted to do something special.
    And of course, all the above assumed you want a resolution of 320 x 240 for the image.
    Disclaimer: At time of writing, this worked with a logitech something or rather webcam, and is completely untested on IE.
    Check out a demo: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=trents_demos:webcam_i (my image is a bit blocky, but i think its just my webcam. I've seen others that are much more crisp using this) Also, just be sure to wait for the progress bar to dissappear before clicking Save.

    Hmm, maybe for some reason you aren't getting the base64 version of the saved image? Is the collection getting the full base64 string? Seems like its not getting any if its no data found.
    The javascript console is your friend.
    Also, in the example i used an extra page, from what one of the examples on apex packages apps had. But since then, I found this post by Carl: http://carlback.blogspot.com/2008/04/new-stuff-4-over-head-with-clob.html - I would use this technique for submitting the clob, over what I have done - as its less hacky. Just sayin.

  • WORKAROUND - Found a Way to Force iTunes Match to UPLOAD

    I wanted to let everyone know that after months of living with incorrect matches (mainly The Beatles in Mono), I've finally found a semi-easy workaround to force uploads.  I haven't found this anywhere else, but if someone else has documented it, I apologize.  I posted this onto one of the many threads regarding the issue quite some time ago (~ 6 months), but I wanted to make sure it was seen by as many as possible. (Sorry for the long post—skip anything you're not interested in! )
    MY THEORY
    The basis of this was noticing that there seemed to be discrete steps to the matching process (when adding via already-ripped FILES and not CD at least):
    You add the files to iTunes
    You can force a scan by right-clicking and selecting "Add to iCloud"
    iTunes scans the new files
    iTunes reports that it is sending the file data to Apple
    iTunes waits for a "Matched" or "No Match" response from Apple
    If the response is "No Match," then iTunes triggers the upload
    After observing this for some time, I concluded that if (edited) files could be imported that would give a definite "No Match" result, there may be time in-between steps 4 and 6 to replace the files with the real ones (which had been triggering a false match in the past).  To my delight, this worked.  Here's what I did:
    STEP-BY-STEP:
    Deleted existing files from iTunes/iCloud, but kept the files on the computer.  I then moved these to a different folder.
    Took existing files and converted them with dBpoweramp.  This will cost money but is well worth it if you are looking for a way to force an upload to iTunes Match. I converted them using the same AAC settings (this doesn't matter), but added the "reverse" DSP, which reverses the audio.  This has been enough to foil iTunes into not matching the track, while ensuring that each file will contain unique audio data.  This will be quick and painless, at least for the first time.  I did it this way because it will retain all of the tags AND length of the file.  iCloud will get the file length from this step, and will not change it afterward...so you probably want to use files of the same length as the real ones.
    Now I have a copy of the files with audio gibberish but still having correct metadata, etc.  I then put these files in my "Automatically Add to iTunes" folder.
    Right-clicked on these files and selected "Add to iCloud." If you use "Sort Album" like I do, you can change it before this step and it will upload into iCloud with the correct sort information.  If done afterward, it doesn't usually sort correctly on my iPhone.
    After iTunes displayed the message "Sending information to Apple" (don't remember the exact message), I pasted the original (correct) files and replaced my audio gibberish files.  It is important to note that the filenames must be the same, e.g. "01 Come Together.m4a" if a single-disc, or "1-01 Back in the USSR.m4a" if multidisc.  iTunes will also truncate the file name at 36 characters (I believe) so this will all need to be done beforehand.  I use various MP3tag actions that I'd be happy to share if anyone wants them.  If you are starting with a file that has already existed in your iTunes library, this will already be done (provided iTunes is managing the library).
    When Apple returns a "No Match" signal back to iTunes, it then begins to upload the files which I have just pasted.
    This has worked for me 100% if doing the upload one time.  In some rare cases, I may decide to EQ a file and then re-upload, or otherwise edit the file.  Or perhaps I have more than one version (original/remastered, or original mix/remix) that I want to coexist in my library.  In those cases, I have again utilized the dBpoweramp "VST Plug-in" DSP, where I use something like Freq Show to garble the audio.  It is necessary for the garbled audio to be unique each time for this to work.
    A FEW THINGS I HAVE LEARNED
    If you delete a file and wish to re-upload it, you can use the same files from step 2 (provided you still have them) and iTunes will recognize them as the files previously uploaded.  I am not sure how long this works, but your uploaded music remains in iCloud, though invisible, for some time — even if you selected "Delete from iCloud."
    iTunes/iCloud evidently does use metadata (at least Album) to help determine if you've already uploaded a song within the same album.  I ran into this when trying to test an EQ/level change I had made, and even though the audio content was completely different, iTunes would not upload or would flag as duplicate.  If I altered the Album field in any way it would proceed. Other tags can be kept the same.
    If you do have mono content, it is trivial to use the dBpoweramp "Channel Mapper" DSP to remove one channel during the conversion from lossless to AAC.  The nice thing is, I encode with Nero AAC quality 0.65 (~250 kbps VBR) and this will reduce the file size significantly.  There is no real advantage to keeping both channels, since you're doing a lossy conversion anyway.  Sometimes the encoders (even very good ones) don't see the file as being mono, due to different artifacts and noise in the left and right channels. Or perhaps the mono tape was transfered with a stereo tape deck, etc.  Try it yourself and see if it makes a difference.  Also, iTunes will report the file as "mono" when you do "Get Info."  I keep the FLAC disc image/tracks in stereo so it will exactly match the CD, but only encode one channel to lossy.  If you know the source is mono for sure then there is no possible advantage to keeping both channels of a lossy conversion.  (If you're not sure if the source is mono, use your favorite DAW, e.g. Audacity, to invert the phase of one channel before combining left and right.  Once you do that, if all that is left is very low-level noise or other artifacts, then you know it is safe to encode as mono.)
    IF YOU CARE ABOUT MASTERING
    It is also worth noting that if you care about what mastering you have in your iTunes library, there is no other way I know of to guarantee you have the correct version in your iCloud library except to upload it.  I found this out the hard way: I had a retail CD version of Paul McCartney's "RAM" album that was recently remastered.  I put the CD in, added to my library, and iTunes Match quickly returned with "Matched" for all tracks.  Some time later I was listening with headphones and noticed that some tracks had hardly any hiss at all, whereas others had a good amount of it.  Since "RAM" is a rather hissy album, I investigated it against the CD and finally found that many of the tracks were being matched to other versions of the song (either from the earlier CD version or compilations with different mastering).  So most of the tracks were hit with heavy noise reduction for the iCloud version.  I had to follow this upload procedure to be sure that I got the right version.  Purchasing the item(s) from the iTunes store would work also, but I had already paid $100 for the deluxe box set.  This same problem occured with the Bob Dylan mono box.  I was surprised to find that iTunes actually matched my mono versions to mono versions, and continued listening until one day the stereo version played on a certain track instead of the mono.  So, even if the iTunes store has the mix/mastering that you are wanting to add to iCloud, the only sure way is to upload it (or purchase it from iTunes in the first place.)  If given the choice going forward I would choose the latter, since I am not hung up on physical media and cannot tell a 256K iTunes store encode apart from a FLAC file in a double blind test (almost nobody can).
    This has been bothering me for months.  I'm really happy to be able to play my correct files on all my devices!  For those of us who have unique versions or masterings of albums we prefer, this should be a workaround until Apple decides to give us a "force upload" option.  I have tested this on Windows 7 primarily.  Should work on any OS.
    Hope everyone finds this useful!
    Nick

    I wanted to first thank you for this, as this is the only workaround literature that seems to be floating around out there.  With that said, I know it is a big ask, but is there any way that you could create a video showing step by step how to do what you do?  I have several tracks that are stuck in waiting mode, and if left in itunes, will never upload or match...they only cause the upload process to hang up and restart.  I've tried leaving it for days...I've tried converting the files, signing in and out of itunes (and itunes match), updating itunes match, and I tried your technique...unfortunately to no avail.  Perhaps I didn't do your technique correctly.  I used audacity to reverse the audio.
    ANY help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
    Thanks

  • Unable to clear file upload fields in web pages.

    When visiting any site which has the option to upload a file, I am unable to clear the field if I change my mind about uploading a file.
    A website has a BROWSE or UPLOAD field and button. Pressing the button brings up the open file dialog. I select a file and select open in the dialog. If I then click on the field containing the path/file, I am presented with the open file dialog. I cannot clear or edit the field on the web page.
    I originally thought it was something with the web page I visited, but then found another page did the same thing.

    For instance if you go to this page again in Safari,
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/qtv/mwsf06/
    and then select "View Source" from the View menu, then press command-f to "find" within the page and search for ".mov"
    You will find this, which shows the url of the movie itself.
    <param name="href" value="http://stream.qtv.apple.com/events/jan/mw2006/mmw_2006_650ref.mov">
    If you copy just this part:
    http://stream.qtv.apple.com/events/jan/mw2006/mmw_2006_650ref.mov
    And open QuickTime Player, go to the File menu, select "Open URL" the movie will play.
    If you try the same technique on the page at the link provided by your client, it will allow you to bypass the html code that may be doing an outdated compatibility check and the movie may play. Or it may tell you that you are missing components (codecs, compressors etc.) in which case, post here again.

  • Problem with uploading files to SharePoint 2013 in cloud using web services. Keep getting error message and don't know why.

    Not sure why. I pass the file that I am going to upload to the subroutine and it is suppose to upload it to the appropriate library. I have burned several days on this problem and I am not sure what is going on. I would appreciate anyone that can point me in
    the right direction. Below is the subroutine that I have that is causing the problem. Obviously, I have stripped the name from the example.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    If you want to upload a file to a library in SharePoint 2013 online, I suggest you use Client Object Model or REST API.
    The code snippets in the two threads below will be helpful:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/deac7cb7-c677-47b0-acdc-c56b32dfaac8/uploading-bigger-files-using-csom

    Uploading Files Using the REST API
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/uksharepoint/archive/2013/04/20/uploading-files-using-the-rest-api-and-client-side-techniques.aspx
    You can handle the authentication with
    SharePointOnlineCredentials object:

  • Problem: Uploading Video To iPod

    Ok here's the issue. 8 times out of 10 when I connect my iPod via USB, it does not give me the option to upload video to my iPod. I would click on the "iPod Options" where you can select Automatically update this and that... and I only see four standard options (Music PodCast Contacts Notes). 2 out of 10 times, it would give me the other options (Photos Videos) and then I can upload videos no problem. But the majority of time, it does not give me this option. I have to continue to remove the iPod from the USB repeatedly until I luckily happen to land on a time when it will allow me to upload video.
    And when, during that 8 out of 10 times when I don't get the option to upload video, it removes all video from the iPod so I can no longer view them! How can I get this thing consistant!
    Why is this happening? How can I get this thing to be consistant in allowing me to upload videos?

    hiya!
    ... okay ... this might be a symptom of a USB connection issue. if your USB connection is flaky to precisely the right degree, itunes can sometimes actually see a video ipod (or a nano) ... but it misidentifies it as an earlier version of ipod (without some of the capabilities of the nano, or the video ipod). sometimes, for example, this can cause the photo tab to go missing in the ipod preferences in itunes.
    does the ipod icon in the itunes sourcelist look any different during the times you do get video capability from the times when you don't? if so, you might have one of these weird misidentification issues.
    if so, some of the general ipod/USB-troubleshooting techniques might be useful:

  • PO creation from EXCEL uploaded by a Gateway Service in UI5

    Hi,
    The business requirement is to create Purchase Order from Excel File, uploaded from the UI5 application and call Gateway Service to create PO in SAP ECC.
    I am trying to achieve this with CREATE_STREAM method of DPC.
    However, my concern here is that I get the STREAMed data in XSTRING format and I am having difficulty in converting the XSTRING back to the EXCEL format.
    Am I following the right technique to achieve this or is there any better way to achieve this requirement in Net Weaver Gateway?

    Hello,
    I did a test for uploading .xlsx file to UI5 APP and save the XSTRING data in db table in DPC( CREATE_STREAM), then read the content of table in DPC (GET_STREAM) .
    In transaction code: '/n/iwfnd/gw_client' , click 'Response in Browser' button,  the content can be read correctly and displayed in Excel, therefore I think the XSTRING data saved in db table is correct and can be converted to Excel data.
    But when I using function 'HR_KR_XSTRING_TO_STRING' to convert XSTRING data to STRING data, the converted result could not be read correctly.
    So there maybe another function can be used to read the content of XSTRING correctly,but I not found it.
    Thanks!

  • Upload Excel Files to ITable

    Hi... maybe someone of you have been reading about how to upload excel files to an internal table using function module ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE.
    The problem that I found with this technique is that it is not possible to use this FM with the SAP WAS because it gives a runtime dump (it only works if the file is on the client machine and if the function module is called from SAPGUI.
    Then I have found the topic
    Re: BSP and Excel
    And one guy puts something interesting like this:
    1. In the application use file upload to upload the file.
    2. caputure the content and length
    DATA: data TYPE REF TO CL_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD.
    data ?= CL_HTMLB_MANAGER=>GET_DATA(
    request = runtime->server->request
    name = 'fileUpload'
    id = 'xx').
    name = data->file_name.
    content = data->file_content.
    length = data->file_length.
    content_type = data->file_content_type.
    3. Then read the data using the class
    DATA: conv TYPE REF TO CL_ABAP_CONV_IN_CE.
    conv = CL_ABAP_CONV_IN_CE=>CREATE( input = CONTENT ).
    conv->READ( importing data = Variable len = length ).
    Now... has anyone continued with this sample? has anyone put the contents into an internal table (with the READ method)...
    If someone did it please show me how to..
    Thanks
    Ariel

    Hi Craig,
    Ok, I was reading the Thomas's Blog and the thread about excel. The blog talks about encoding and the thread is about how to "download" the table. I want to upload the excel to an internal table.
    So, I am almost finishing the code.. But I have a problem (named DUMP) when I create the "conv" object (check the code) the problem is because I dont know how to call the create method indicating 'UFT-16' as encoding.
    I show you my "OnInputProcessing" code:
    IF button_event->id = 'btnUpload'.
      fileUpload ?= CL_HTMLB_MANAGER=>GET_DATA(
                           request = request
                           id      = 'txtFile'
                           name    = 'fileUpload' ).
      IF ( fileUpload->file_name  NE '' ) AND
         ( fileUpload->file_length GT 0 ).
         IF fileUpload->file_content_type
            = 'application/vnd.ms-excel'.
            DATA: content   TYPE ZMTVEMAT,
                  conv      TYPE REF TO CL_ABAP_CONV_IN_CE,

                  dd_fields TYPE DDFIELDS,
                  wa_fields TYPE DFIES,
                  len       TYPE I.
            conv = CL_ABAP_CONV_IN_CE=>CREATE(
                      encoding = 'UTF-16'
                      endian   = 'L'
                      input    = fileUpload->file_content ).
            CALL FUNCTION 'TR_NAMETAB_GET'
               EXPORTING
                IV_TABNAME                   = 'ZMTVMAT'
                IV_GET_LENGTHS_IN_CHARMODE   = 'X'
                IV_GET_TEXTS                 = ' '
               IMPORTING
                ET_DFIES                     = dd_fields.
                LOOP AT dd_fields INTO wa_fields.
                  MOVE wa_fields-offset TO wa_off-ioff.
                  MOVE wa_fields-intlen TO wa_off-ilen.
                  APPEND wa_off TO it_off.
                ENDLOOP.
       viewoff = CL_ABAP_VIEW_OFFLEN=>CREATE( tab = it_off ).
                conv->READ(
                            exporting
                              view = viewoff
                            importing
                              data = content
                              len = len ).
