[Urgent] Bug found with coherence LimitFilters - Coherence 3.7.1.9

Hi,
We believe we have identified a serious bug with LimitFilters while using the Coherence Extend client (I am not sure if it only affects the extend client).
The summary of the bug is that when using Integers as keys to a cache, we get different results as to when we use Strings, Double, etc, when the data is partitioned across two nodes. We do not get the correct results of the query.  Also of note is that this only happens when we provide a comparator.
Steps to reproduce
- Start up a distributed cache across two nodes.
- Add data to the cache, a simplified example is a cache of Integers->Strings
- See the test below
Has anybody experienced this before?  I have tried to isolate the test case as much as possible but it could still be environment dependent.. any suggested workarounds that are not too much of a hack are appreciated! If we increase the page size, the problem seems to disappear.
@Test
  public void testStringCache() {
  NamedCache cache = CacheFactory.getCache(CoherenceCacheName.Product.getXmlName());
  cache.clear();
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(49355),""+49355);
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(49356),""+49356);
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(49357),""+49357);
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(49358),""+49358);
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(49362),""+49362);
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(49365),""+49365);
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(49366),""+49366);
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(49423),""+49423);
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(50284),""+50284);
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(59404),""+59404);
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(62897),""+62897);
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(63342),""+63342);
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(66133),""+66133);
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(68848),""+68848);
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(99861),""+99861);
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(326637),""+326637);
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(365149),""+365149);
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(366043),""+366043);
  productCache.put(Integer.valueOf(366569),""+366569);
  Filter productCacheFilter = new AlwaysFilter();
  int pageSize = 20;
  LimitFilter limitedFilter = new LimitFilter(productCacheFilter, pageSize);
  limitedFilter.setPage(0); //limitfilter is zero based.
  Set<Map.Entry<Integer, ? extends IProduct>> products =productCache.entrySet(limitedFilter, new ReflectionExtractor("toString")); // the reflection extractor here is a comparator.
  Integer count = (Integer) productCache.aggregate(productCacheFilter,new Count());
  System.out.println("Count is "+count + "but products = "+products.size());
- If we change Integer to String/Double, the counts match (19/19). Otherwise the results are 19/17
- Removing the comparator fixes the issue

Bug 17287442 has been created for this issued.

• Kernel Panic at low battery with MacBook bug found - with solution

Hello All,
I think I've found a bug with Leopard concerning laptops. I started a thread which I'll link to below.
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1219413
Other people have had this same issue - I've seen it on a few different posts. Does anyone know the best way to contact Apple regarding this? I don't know how active they are in reading this forum, and I want to make sure they know about this, as it's probably something that can be fixed with an OS update.
To summarize, I'm including a couple of key posts:
Posted Nov 4th 2007...
Hello,
I just got one of the new November 07 MacBooks. The machine is great, and screams with the pre-installed Leopard.
First thing I did was plug it in to charge as I started configuring software. Once it was fully charged, I pulled the plug, and began using it on battery. My plan was to calibrate the battery, by running it all the way until it forced a sleep, then shutting down and plugging it in again, as Apple recommends.
Problem is, I never got the "Low Battery" warning, or even the sleep warning. At around 10 minutes of power left, I simply got a kernel panic. A few seconds later, the laptop just switched off.
I plugged in again for a few minutes, then ran it down again to see if I could reproduce the error, and I did get the low battery warning.
The next time the battery ran down, it gave me the kernel panic.
Is this happening to anyone else? Is it a new MacBook problem, or a leopard power management problem? I'm having no other issues at all with the MacBook or Leopard. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Nov 12th, 2007...
Well, It's been a few cycles since the first one, and all is well. I'm getting the low battery warning when it runs low, and no kernel panics (knocking on all available wood). If I start having problems in the future, I'll update this thread, but for now I'm marking it answered. It was probably Leopard not reading the uncalibrated battery correctly.
Dec, 31st 2007.....
Hello all,
Short followup here: I've have 30 successful cycles after the first couple of kernel panics, and it's time to calibrate the battery again. I tried to do it yesterday - charged the battery all the way, used the macbook while plugged in for two hours, unplugged the adapter and continued to use it until I got the low battery warning. I shut down everything and let it sit - waiting for it to go to sleep. Instead, I got a kernel panic, and the computer shut down. It would not restart until I plugged it in, but I know there was some battery left, since it panicked at 2% battery. I let it charge for an hour or so, then used it again until I got the low battery warning. This time, it went down to 0%, but panicked and shut down instead of going to sleep.
I'm trying this again, after charging all the way last night, and just leaving it on to drain. I'm at 20% right now, and I'll post to let you know what happened.
Dec 31st, 2007....
Hello All - I think I've figured this out. Looks like a software bug with Leopard.
I did get another kernel panic just now at 0%, after the low battery warning. But then I had a revelation. In trying to calibrate the battery, I had set my energy saver settings to never sleep under the battery settings - so I could leave the notebook overnight to drain. I gave it a bit of a charge, then set the battery setting (in energy saver) to sleep after 20 minutes. I restarted, used the computer for a while, got the low battery warning, the computer went down to 0%, then went to sleep as it should.
I believe that since I had the computer set to "never" go to sleep, Leopard didn't know how to handle it when the battery ran down, and kernel panicked. Perhaps this happens on new MacBooks, because these settings aren't written yet? Regardless, it's obviously an OS level bug here.
For those having the problem, make sure your battery settings under energy saver are set to allow sleep after a time.

• BUG FOUND-- With Shadows on Non-FCP Generated Layers

In FCP 6, this bug has been verified by many other users on forums across the web such as CreativeCow, DVCreators, and more. This BUG is a "repeatable problem" with the software.
PLEASE take a moment to experiment with this so Apple can take care of this.
The quality of footage specifically when adding a Drop Shadow is degraded when scaled-down and rendered, (SEE LINK BELOW).
http://www.jonesinc.com/tech/fcp_interlacecomp.jpg
This is simply scaling footage to 26% and adding a shadow.
NOTE: Scaling colorbars, a solid color, or any FCP generated object looks fine. We can export a clip from Final Cut and look on any Mac, PC, or monitor to see the issue is within the software converted file, not the video display.
The ONLY other time it looks correct is when you change the sequence settings so the FIELD ORDER is NONE, rather than Lower-field. However, this of-course will cause issues with the interlaced footage during playback for Broadcast...again not acceptable.
Various Codecs, Sequence settings, etc have been tested with the same poor results.
Again, this "Bug" has been verified several times with various systems, Operating systems, and versions of FCP. Again, PLEASE take a moment to experiment with this so Apple can take care of this.
Sincerely,
SYSTEM:
FCP 6.0.2
OS X 10.5.2 Leopard
QT Version 7.4.1
2 X 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
8 GB 800 MHz DDR2 DB-DIMM
Kona 3 HD with AJA breakout box
Apple 30" Cinema Display and out to 55" Hitachi Plasma

Sorry to report it is not working at all , allways the same message cant find the vido or audio file but in reality it work for the audio file but error occur at the video compression stage.
This is a bug since Apple suggest 1GB per core and i try as low as 4 instances , Without Share i can use with no problem at all 12 instances and it is realy fast and Share offer the selection of Quickclusters.
I short this Mac Pro cant use Share when any Quickcluster is in use as you see but i can use any Quickcluster when Share is not used to do Blu-Ray , so the important feature Share is Useless and since Apple promote it to do Blu-Ray one step we got a serious bug at the moment David.

Hi,
Did you check the documentation about how to integrate Coherence with Spring applications? Check it out: Integrating Spring with Coherence
It seems that you are experiencing a communication problem between your web container and the Coherence cluster. Check if you are able to access simple caches and execute sample put() and get()s. Maybe the problem is not about Spring itself, it could be a communication problem.
Cheers,
Ricardo Ferreira

• FCP 7 with Share dont work when a Quickcluster is Active (Bug Found).

If you send your sequence with the option share of the new FCP 7 to create a Blu-Ray by example you will get an error who can be something like video file not found with your Quickcluster active.
Share give you the option to select your Quickcluster but that is not working at all guys.
Seem not important but think about creating a H.264 for Blu-Ray , it give you a very long wait ...
For me let get an example : Quickcluster 10 instances for a XDCAM EX of 12 Minutes take 25 Minutes , and for 12 instances it take 22 Minutes , no Quickclusters it take 30 Minutes.
On short project not important but long duration Blu-Ray well not very funny.
I am on a Dual Quad Cores 12 GB ram , i hope Apple will fix this for the benefit of all of us.
Message was edited by: Daniel Goyette

How i can reestablish the database connection without restart my cache server?
Please Help me!!!
Sorry for my english.

Hi,
It looks like you are using com.oracle.coherence.handson.DBCacheStore.
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13924_01/coh.340/e14135/cohjdev.htm
If so, then I think that you could simply change the following method in the DBCacheStore ...
public Connection getConnection()
            if (m_con == null || m_con.isClosed())
                configureConnection();
            return m_con;
            }Thanks,
Tom

• Which Product could be integrated with coherence

which Product could be integrated with coherence is siebel or JDE or People soft could be integrated with oracle coherence,or oracle coherence is not for ready made application
Thanks

Currently there is no out of the box integration with the Apps that you listed. Is there something specific you are looking for?

• Bug Found and Fix Found Creative ZEN XFI Style 32 Gig

9Bug Found and Fix Found> Creative ZEN XFI Style 32 Gig?Hello I was having problems getting my MP3 TAGS to show up on a number of my MP3's.
Whenever I loaded my files onto my ZEN it would show up as a Voice under Recordings.
And the file name would be "MIC and the date file created etc..."
I noticed that these files where all starting with the letters MIC at the front of the filename...
For instance: Michael_Jackson_Thriller.mp3?? or? Michael_W_Smith_Let_it_rain.mp3
and so on and so on... ANY file that started with the letters M I C? would be thrown in as a voice recorded file and the TAG would not operate.
I have the latest Firmware on my MP3 Player.
The fix was just to change the file name so it did not start with MIC... so i went and switched Michael Jackson to M.Jackson and also switched Michael W Smith to M W smith.
The tag showed up appropriately and I have had no problems since.
It would be nice if there was another Firmware update so that MP3's could start with the letters MIC also I was hoping to bring awareness to this situation for other users.

=Re: Bug Found and Fix Found> Creative ZEN XFI Style 32 Gig?I did three methods of?loading the files.
I used Windows Media Player to sync the files.
I used Creative Central to transfer the files.
These two methods produced results where the file starting with MIC turned into a voice recordings.
I also had problems just copying and pasting the files (using windows explorer).
I have not had any problems with any other file. I normally use MP3Tag to tag my files.
However i even tried using Windows Media to tag the file and I even tried using Creative Central to tag the files.
I tried as many work arounds as possible. But once i renamed the file it worked.

• Weblogic 12c : Spring taglib No tag library could be found with this URI

Hello,
I have an application which deploy perfectly on JBOSS 7 and Websphere
My WAR includes WEB-INF/lib/spring-webmvc.jar which contains all .tld files declaration (stardard stuff up to now....)
When I try to acces ths page (JSP) I got : No tag library could be found with this URI
Really don't know why ??

I think that there is bug in JSP precompilation by weblogic 12c maven plugin and appc. Seems me that jsp compiler can lose sometimes tag libraries it's precompiling. Next retry using exactly same pom can be successful. I get same results using command line and OEPE 12.1.1.0 mave(pom). My java options for maven package are(-Xmx1024m -Xms1024m -XX:PermSize=512m).
When I get the error it's something like
"Failed to execute goal com.oracle.weblogic:wls-maven-plugin:12.1.1.0:appc (default) on project ui_elements:
There are 1 nested errors:
weblogic.utils.compiler.ToolFailureException: jspc failed with errors :weblogic.servlet.jsp.CompilationException: naviButtons.tag:23:6: The tag handler class was not found "jsp_servlet._tags.__pagelink_tag".
<T:pageLink url="${naviStatus.previousPage.linkUrl}"
^--------^
naviButtons.tag:23:6: The tag handler class was not found "jsp_servlet._tags.__pagelink_tag".
<T:pageLink url="${naviStatus.previousPage.linkUrl}"
Failed to execute goal com.oracle.weblogic:wls-maven-plugin:12.1.1.0:appc (default) on project ui_elements:"
Next unsuccessful compilation can mention different tags. Very irregular behavior.
Do you have resolution?
