My requirement is like this.....
When a user try to login ,and at the if any body already logged with the same user id i want to show the following options to the user
You can:
1.contnue with this logon and end any other logons in the system
2.continue with this logon without ending any other logons
3.Terminate this logon
And also want to show the other logged in users system id and system password.

How to change the portal user id 's assigned employee in ESS configuration

Hello Gurus,
I now have a question related to ESS configuration. I want to know how to change the Portal user's pernr assignment in the ECC 6.0 system. Somebody had actually assigned my portal user ID a PERNR in the ECC 6.0 system. But now, for test purposes, I want to change the PERNR assignment to something else for my portal user id.
Could any of you please guide me in doing these steps?

Hi Leena,
You can create a new user name with the username and password assigned to it, with the transaction SU01.
Ex : ESS_USER1
Go to transaction code : PA30.
Enter the pernr you want to assign to the user ESS_USER1 that you have created earlier.
Enter infotype number : 105
Now go ahead and click on the change button.
And assign the user name as ESS_USER1.
Then the pernr number will be assigned to the ESS_USER1 that you have created.
You can check the same when you go to the HRUSER transaction code.

   request component need to be initialized before using it. Include these lines before ur code.

Selection screen - i want to block the input in range-high but i get '0'

i have selection screen :
SL_MONAT   FOR BKPF-MONAT NO-EXTENSION ,
i want to block the high value input , so i use :
LOOP AT SCREEN.
IF SCREEN-NAME = 'SL_MONAT-HIGH'.
screen-input = '0'.
endif.

When the screen display, the field is block but there is value '0' (zero) in the field.
why?
i just want to block the high option (by condition) , with out any value inside .
when I delete the u201C loop at screenu201D , no value display inside .

Tray as appearing in the Portal User Creation screen

Hi all,
I am on WAS 6.40 SP15, NWDS 2.0.15 and EP 6.0 SP15.
When I place 'tray' ui element in my application, I see one vertical line on the left side and horizontal line. I have to remove these lines.
Can anyone suggest how to modify the 'tray' ui element so that I get a tray as appearing in the Portal User Creation screen.

Then you will have to modify the standard UWL configuration file.
If your task looks like a standard task (maybe you copied a standard task and modified it slightly), you have to find the ItemType corresponding to the standard task in the UWL configuration file then copy this ItemType and adjust it for you custom task. Please take a look at my last post in another thread : Re: UWL - how to approve purchase requisitions
If your task is 100% custom then you'll have to find out what is behind the Approve and Reject buttons in the Business Workflow and modify the UWL configuration file accordingly. For instance if a function module is used to approve or reject the request you can define your approve and reject actions using the FunctionModuleActionHandler. I want to block the Update plugins pop up. I have a G5 MAC running Power PC processors. The newer versions of Flash and Java are for Intel processors. I can not utilize those newer updates. So if I can't have Fire Fox stop popping up that annoying reminder then, I will be forced to uninstall Fire Fox and use Safari.

You can set the <b>plugins.update.url</b> pref to an empty string and set the <b>plugins.hide_infobar_for_outdated_plugin</b> pref to true on the about:config page.

We want to block the paralell jobs. In case of the critical/consume resoures job run in the same time more than 2 jobs, the 3rd can not active, must be change status in hold and waiting by using interception feature in CPS-Redwood ?
Does the CPS support this requirement ?
Any one use the interception feature in CPS ? to block the paralell job ?

If I do get you right, you want CPS to run max 2 jobs at the same time. The third jobs, which is then already triggered/scheduled/waiting needs to wait.
We do this by the following(we "told" CPS how many jobs can run at the same time - this is called App server load balancing):
Navigate to Environment. There select "Process Servers".
Edit your process server.
In the edit window, you can set the "execution size". (test yourself for the needed value)
To have these settings to work, one must specify the APP Server load balancing. (you can find this too in "environment" - "SAP". Edit "SAP" and tick the checkbox "App server load balancing".)
Check the CPS AdminGuide for "load balancing"
Hope you will find the appropriate solution!
(I have never used the interception feature - I cannot tell you anything about it and I doubt that it is the feature you're looking for)

What is the default password for the Portal User in 9i AS Release 2? I'm assuming this is the equivalent user to the Portal30 user in 3.0.9?

The default password for the Portal user in the same password as ias_admin. This would be defined at install time through the Oracle Universal Installer. However, if you're asking about identifying the Portal schema password in the database, you can login to the Directory Manager(assuming you're using Windows)and login as
cn=orcladmin
password: (ias_admin password)
Click on (entry management)=>(cn=OracleContext)=>(cn=Products)=>(cn=IAS)=>cn=Infrastructure Databases => ReferenceName=sid:host=>ResourceName=Portal. Click on the entry and look at the orclpasswordattribute.
Incidentally, you can also find the orasso password by checking the ResourceName=orasso.
Note:198800.1 on metalink would be a good resource to follow.

Client wants to block the order if customer's credit Limits exceeds.

Dear All,
Client wants to block the order if customer's credit Limits exceeds. But Sales order no. is to be generated.Later on that blocked order is to be released by Authority.
I did all the configurations. Order is blocked if the customer credits exceeds, but order no is not get generated. Without order no, Authority can not release.
Kindly guide me where i have gone wrong.

HI,
Please do not put a credit block in the Credit Management settings. Instead check in the CMR and the VOV8 sales order setting. Also if possible maintain an incompletion procedure wherein SO number would created but the document would be blocked for delivery creation.
Usually the SO would be released using v.23 by the proper authority,that should work fine and would not hamper SO creation process.

It has happen twice. Two different teachers in two different classrooms entering the correct user name and passwords and computer won't allow them to login. Then they try in different computers in same classroom and have no problem login.

Yes. I can login with a test user. And any other network user can login as well to this particular mac. Actually the mac has bootcamp and boots into either mac or windows. The same user entering the same login username and password can login into the windows side, but not the mac side.
I had this same issue last semester in another classroom, another mac and a different teacher. This summer I reformatted and imaged that mac and I asked that teacher to login today to that reimagened mac and she had no problem today doing so.

I am using Oracle Webcenter 11g (Version 11.1.1.2.0) . I want to change the look & Feel of Login.jspx . I have gone through the extension document

But i want to change the look & feel of *"Login.jspx"* page along with want this as landing page. How i will achieve this, will it be done through the same document that i am referring .Please suggest me.

I just wonder if i could change the global toolbar of the login page though this or not.
As i changed the webcenter global tool bar (i,e increase the height of the toolbar) using CustomSiteTemplate, but the login page toolbar height remains as it is.
So how could i achieve this and one more thing how could i make the login page as the landing page and once login done it should forwarded to webcenter spaces. Please reply asap.

If I have developed a main portal page with many content areas inside in one machine containing oracle 8.17 release 3, oracle 9ias and running Win 2000 platform. Once everything is ready, I can see under a browser(netscape) at http://mysite.newportal.com
where mysite is computer name and newportal.com is the DNS suffix defined in Windows. Let's call this computer be A
However, if other workstartions want to see such site, they cannot see and return "mysite.newportal.com cannot be found". If I type the IP address of computer A, I can see the setup page, which appear something like "Apache ...." and if I click any link it will return same message "mysite.newportal.com cannot be found"
Please help me how to do.

You may need to give your other user a mor detail url to use.
I am still early in using Oracle Portal so there may be an easier way.
If they want to save the url as a Favorite in IE, they must create the Favorite link manually instead of clicking Add As Favorite as the fully resolved url is in the address area after the site is reached. The fully resolved address does not display the portlets correctly, when accessed again.
