URGENT : replicating master table definition modif

Hi all,
I created a snapshot replicating a table at a master site.
But the problem is that if I altered the master table definition , for example if I add a column and then populate it , then the snapshot does not contain the new column and data added .
So how to resolve it ?
Thank you very much indeed.

Hi Ian,
From replication perspective its follow the same methodology as ECC replication to HANA.
You have to install DMIS 2011 component on your APO system to communicate with SLT.
For more details you can refer SAP note: 1759156

  • URGENT : replicating master structure modification

    Hi all,
    How to configure the master and/or the snapshot to replicate any structure modifications at the master site ?
    Thank you very much.

    Hi,
    You can use the table for material master MARA from SE11 for creating the flat file. The required fields can be selected from the table based on the description given for the fields to create the flat file.
    Regards
    Radhika

  • Replicate APO master table data into HANA db via SLT

    Hi,
    Can anybody help me on replicating SAP APO master table data into SAP HANA by using SLT.
    What is the hardware requirement (Version & Patch) for APO system to communicate with SLT and is it the same methodology to follow while replicating ECC data via SLT to HANA or different.
    Please treat it urgent and your suggestions highly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Ian

    Hi Ian,
    From replication perspective its follow the same methodology as ECC replication to HANA.
    You have to install DMIS 2011 component on your APO system to communicate with SLT.
    For more details you can refer SAP note: 1759156

  • Best practice for replicating Partitioned table

    Hi SQL Gurus,
    Requesting your help on the design consideration for replicating a partitioned table.
    1. 4 Partitioned tables (1 master table with foreign key constraints to 3 tables) partitioned based on monthly YYYYMM
    2. 1 table has a XML column in it
    3. Monthly switch partition to remove old data, since it is having foreign key constraint; disable until the switch is complete
    4. 1 month partitioned data is 60 GB
    having said the above, wanted to create a copy of the same tables to a different servers.
    I can think of
    1. Transactional replication, but then worried about the XML column,snapshot size and the alter switch will make the same thing
    on the subscriber or row by row delete.
    2. Logshipping with standby with every 15 minutes, but then it will be for the entire database; because I have other partitioned monthly table which is of 250 GB worth.
    3. Thinking about replicating the Partitioned table as Non Partitioned, in that case how the alter switch will work. Is it possible to ignore delete when setting up the replication.
    3. SSIS or Stored procedure method of moving data on a daily basis.
    4. Backup and restore on a daily basis, but this will not work when the source partition is removed.

  • View table and Master table don't match

    I am setting up Materialize view replication between two systems connected over a WAN. The number of rows in the master table does not match the number of rows in the Table at the view site. Is there a way I can monitor/watch or otherwise see what replicated transaction are being applied to the view. I know that rows are added to and deleted from this table over the course the the day.

    If the master table is always changing, the two tables will never match completely. Take the following scenario:
    time 0: Insert row A in master table
    time 1: Begin refresh of remote MV
    time 2: Insert row B in master table
    time 3: End refresh of remote MV
    At this point, the master table will have two rows (A & B) while the remote table only has row A. If there is a materialized view log on the master table, row B will be present in the log and will replicate on the next refresh. I'm not aware of any utility that lets you view the data in the materialized view log in a particularly human-readable form, however-- that data is stored in a RAW column.

  • Master table / detail table: Problem refreshing the content

    Hi,
    I have a Master table/detail table on my page. When I add a new row to the master or detail table, the new row is inserted in the database, but not shown in the ADF Tables on the page. After restarting the OC4J the ADF Tables show the correct data, including the new rows.
    While dropping the collection on my page there were one methodIterator and two accessorIterators created.
    In several tutorials the solution for the refresh problem is to change the chacheResult parameter of the methodIterator to false. But this causes in "No row found for rowKey:null" errors.
    An other solution should be to create a new invokeAction with the id "tableRefresh" and the corresponding RefreshConditions. This doesn't helps, too.
    So how could I solve this problem? I want to update/refresh the master and detail table, after I inserted a new row.
    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Hi,
    thanks for your answer.
    Sorry, but I forgot to say, that I am using Jdev 10.1.3.1, Toplink, ADF and EJB3.
    I think I will give some further informations about the scenario. I created the m/d table by drag-and-droping the object out of the data control palette on site A. Each row stores a goLink item, which navigates to a new page B. After creating and saving the new entry the user navigates back to the page with the m/d table (page A). Storing the new entry is handled by an action in the page B managed bean.
    Now the question: How could I re-execute in page B backing bean the iterator which is stored in page A? Could this be handled by an invokeAction? Or is it possible to get access to the iterator used and stored on another page (definition)?
    Thanks,
    Thomas

  • Urgent - DropDownbyIndex in Table

    Hi,
    I have an urgent requirement, where my scenario is - I have two table, 1) Master Tabel 2)InnerTable.
    When i select any row in the master table (which contains order no, equipments and Quantity), multiple rows should be selected with the same orderno (as each order there may be any number of equipments), this is done, so now the multiple selected rows data should be send to the InnerTable, which contains a DropDownbyIndex UI - To display the equipments.
    Now the data are transferred, but all the values in the DropDownbyIndex is pointing to the same value. For example, if i click first row in the Inner Table, all the row values are the same in the DropdownbyIndex. If I click the second row, then the Second Row value is displayed in all the row...
    Pls guide how to get individual value in each dropdownbyindex...
    Suggest some PDF - briefing some working examples, which will have DropDownByIndex UI in the table.
    Regards,
    Guru

    Hi Kumara,
    If you want to acheive DropDownByIndex indepent of row selection, do the following:
    - Create another value node (eg: dropdown) with in the main node for which you will have DropDownByIndex and create the value attribute (ddvalue).
    - In properties set the singleton to false for node dropdown.
    - Create a supply function from property menu.
    Now in implementation tab add the logic to generate DropDownByIndex values. Check the sample code..
      public void supplyInternal(IPrivateTestWDAppsView.IInternalNode node, IPrivateTestWDAppsView.IMyTableElement parentElement)
        //@@begin supplyInternal(IWDNode,IWDNodeElement)
         IPrivateTestWDAppsView.IInternalElement ele4 = node.createInternalElement();
         ele4.setIntValue("One");
         parentElement.nodeInternal().addElement(ele4);
         ele4 = node.createInternalElement();
              ele4.setIntValue("TWO");
         parentElement.nodeInternal().addElement(ele4);
         ele4 = node.createInternalElement();
              ele4.setIntValue("THREE");
         parentElement.nodeInternal().addElement(ele4);
        //@@end

  • How to select data from all HR Master Tables(PA0000 to PA****)

    Hi Gurus!
    My requirement is to pick the changedon(AEDTM) , changedby(UNAME) and reason for change(PREAS)  from all tables (pa0000 to pa****)of HR  in which he made any change during a specific date.
    Now if it is specific for two or three tables then inner join can solve it. but now it is the matter of picking data from maximum 9999 tables for which inner join will not be accurate.
    plz suggest me any appropriate way to solve it out. or there is any table which store  the changes in All HR Master Tables.
    Thanking in Advance.
    Tahir Naqqash

    Hi,
    it is very tidious to get it in one go, as u know hr tables contains huge data.
    You can chack my wiki in https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/XYC0Aw .
    Here you need to make the following modification.
    1. in the selection screen set on date range with select option.
    2. in the select query, change select * by ur specified fields.
    3. change dynamic internal table and ALV as per ur required fields
    In this way you have to put the table name and the date range and will get the data.
    for repeation u can call the same job in background again and again store data in a seperate internal table and display finaly ..... but huge chance of getting 'Time Out ' error in that case for comparetively large day gap.

  • Associations lost after Capture Design of table definition

    Hi,
    We use Designer 6i, with versioning on.
    We have a table definition T and a view definition V that uses the table definition T. In other words, there is an association in Designer between T and V.
    When we Capture Design the table T from a database, the association between T and V is lost.
    Is there a possibility to get a warning message in the Capture Design process that the association will be lost?
    Is it possible to use a preference concerning Capture Design for this?
    TIA,
    Lennart de Vos

    Hi,
    Sorry, I didn't describe the problem properly.
    I want to Capture Design a table, and not to Capture Design a view.
    The issue in Design Editor (DE) is as follows:
    (1) Capture Design a table T_CAPDES from the database.
    (2) Create a fixed format view definition V_CAPDES in DE, based on columns of the table definition T_CAPDES.
    (3) Create in the RON a reference from the view V_CAPDES to the table T_CAPDES, in the node 'Base Tables'.
    (4) Modify the table T_CAPDES in the database, e.g. add a column, drop a column or change the datatype of a column.
    (5) When you Capture Design the table T_CAPDES, the user receives the following information in the Message Window:
    "CDS-15334 Warning: The Table T_CAPDES already exists in the Repository. NOMERGE_AND_SAC Rule selected => the captured property values will not replace the existing property values in the repository..."
    The modifications in the table T_CAPDES are not visible in DE: Capture Design has not been executed for this table.
    Probably this warning will be generated because of some Capture Design preferences.
    A workaround is, to delete the table definition T_CAPDES in Designer and to Capture Design this table again from the database. But a major disadvantage of this workaround is, that the reference from the view definition V_CAPDES will be lost.
    Bottom line: I need some more information about the Capture Design preferences in Designer?
    Thanks a lot!
    Lennart de Vos

  • How to Create Inline Table to Display Detail Data in a Master Table in 11g?

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to create inline table inside master table to show data.
    I found this 10g article for this http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/web.1013/b28967/web_masterdetail006.htm#BABCDCGE
    I couldn't find such option in 11g. Am i missing something? Please let me know where i can find more details.
    Required Output:
    [+] DepartmentId DepartmentName
    [-] DepartmentId DepartmentName
    EmployeeId FirstName LastName
    EmployeeId FirstName LastName
    EmployeeId FirstName LastName
    [+] DepartmentId DepartmentName
    Also, I tried creating the Page as below (Departments -Employees Relation). i.e I have tried using the ADF treeModel in the bindings and then created a table/inline table manually to populate. The data is available in the iterators (i found using sops in back bean), but the inline table is not showing any data. I tried enabling PPR on detail based on master. But no luck.
    <af:table rows="#{bindings.Departments1.rangeSize}"
    emptyText="#{bindings.findAllStaff1.viewable ? \'No rows yet.\' :
    \'Access Denied.\'}"
    var="row" value="#{bindings.Departments1.treeModel}">

    Hi,
    After reading the above links end-to-end twice, I'm finally able to establish the relationship in UI. I've used iterator for my specific purpose, although it can be done using a table/forEach.
    1) Create VOs for Dept and Emp, i.e. DeptVO and EmpVO.
    2) Then a View Link on deptID, i.e DeptEmpVL
    3) Drag and drop the Dept as AdfTreeTable, b'coz it will create the treeBinding and also add the emp accessor by selecting it in the binding window. (refer to above doc links from BaiG)
    4) In my Page UI, i've created a new table and an iterator in the detailStamp.
    Dept Table ->
    o Value = #{bindings.Departments1.treeModel}
    o Var = dept
    o varStaus = deptVarStatus
    Add these:
    Column1-> OutputText -> #{dept.DepartmentId}
    Column2-> OutputText -> #{dept.DepartmentName}
    Insert into TableFacets -> detailStamp -> iterator
    Iterator ->
    o Value = #{dept.children}
    o Var = emp
    o varStatus = empVarStatus
    Add these:
    OutputText -> #{emp.EmployeeId}
    OutputText -> #{emp.EmployeeName}
    OutputText -> #{emp.Salary}
    This iterator/forEach comes in handy for having n Number of regions inside a layout.
    Thanks,
    Harikiran

  • Snapshot replication slow during purge of master table

    I have basic snapshot/materialized view replication of a big table (around 6 million rows).
    The problem that I run into is that when I run a purge of the master table at the master site (delete dml), the snapshot refresh time becomes slower. After the purge the snapshot refresh time goes back to the normal time interval.
    I had thought that the snapshot does a simple select so any exclusive lock on the table should not hinder the performance.
    Has anyone seen this problem before and if so what has been the workaround?
    The master site and the snapshot site both are 8.1.7.4 and are both unix tru64.
    I don't know if this has any relevence but the master database is rule based while the snapshot site is cost based.
    thanks in advance

    Hello Alan,
    Your problem is, to know inside a table-trigger if the actual DML was caused
    by a replication or a normal local DML.
    One way (I'm practising) to solve (in Oracle 8.1.7) this is the following:
    You can use in the trigger code the functions DBMS_SNAPSHOT.I_AM_A_REFRESH(),
    DBMS_REPUTIL.REPLICATION_IS_ON() and DBMS_REPUTIL.FROM_REMOTE()
    (For details see oracle documentation library)
    For example: a trigger (before insert of each row) at the master side
    on a table which is an updatable snapshot:
    DECLARE
         site_x VARCHAR2(128) := DBMS_REPUTIL.GLOBAL_NAME;
         timestamp_x      DATE;
         value_time_diff     NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    IF (NOT (DBMS_SNAPSHOT.I_AM_A_REFRESH) AND DBMS_REPUTIL.REPLICATION_IS_ON) THEN
    IF NOT DBMS_REPUTIL.FROM_REMOTE THEN
    IF inserting THEN
         :new.info_text := 'Hello table; this entry was caused by local DML';
    END IF;
