Urgent: Workflow Run

Hi,
In workflow administrator responsibility -> developer studio, I am trying to run the workflow process but I am not getting the run option. Where has I was getting the same previously.
Can anyone tell me what might be the reason and how to resolve it?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey
Instead of
it_container-element = 'PH.PRODUCTHI'.
it_container-value = vtext-prodh.
it_container-TAB_INDEX = '001'.
it_container-ELEMLENGTH = '018'.
it_container-type = 'C'.
append it_container.
clear it_container.
try
it_container-element = 'PH'.
it_container-value = vtext-prodh.
it_container-TAB_INDEX = '001'.
it_container-ELEMLENGTH = '018'.
it_container-type = 'C'.
append it_container.
clear it_container.
I cannot check it by myself as this is not a standard SAP object.
The other way is to pass the value into the "simple" variable. The same as you pass value to the VTEXT variable. Then you can pass this value as a parameter to the method PH->Display. In this scenario you should do this method Instance-independent - this way you won't need an instance of the PH object.
I assume that in the Display method you will be able to show this Product Hierarchy using the Product Hierarchy key given in the parameter.

  • Service's 'Workflow Running Gear" in menubar disappeared in Lion

    Hi there!
I have created a 'Service' (Scale Images to xxx) in Snow Leopard; When the service was actually in operation, there was a Workflow Running Gear spinning in the menubar indicating that a workflow was in progress, that gear disappeared in Lion, now there's no reference and I can't tell if the Service is done or is working on the background, this was very helpful for a large amount of files.
Is there any way to bring that spinning gear back? or any other form of indicator to show when is performing the service or not.
Note: The actual Service works perfectly, but I would love to see a visual attestation that the work is going on.
    Thanks!

You can try to create a service using the a launch application action. You might be able to use the Run workflow action as well. However, I'm not sure you'll get the menu bar status display using either of these methods, but it's worth a try.  This will also probably fail if your service requires input.
I did some testing a while back and found that the services are executed by a service runner that doesn't enable the indicator.  The best solution I've found is to launch the workflow via a Shell command using the automator command-line tool. For more info, open terminal and type: man automator
The reason this works is because the workflow is being executed by a Automator runner which activates the status menu. I don't know why Apple didn't add the functionality for services. There could be more to this issue, but that's what I've found so far.

  • URGENT : Workflow for Vendor Bid

We have activated the event linkage for the Vendor Bid..
WS79000010 (No approval required) and deleted all the start conditions for this bus. obj (BUS2202)..
The vendor as a bidder is able to submit his bid.. and once this bid is accepted the status is alwayz awaiting approval...
is there any way we can inactivate the awaiting approval...bcoz in BBP_PD i see for this vendor bid the awaiting approval is not marked inactive....
or do we have to maintain anything in the org structure..
    Thankz in advance

  • Workflow Running Instance Migration

    Hi Folks,
In our current project we have scenarios where the current business transactions have proceeded to a certain stage(a given business transaction goes through various stages) . During migration we have developed the upload program to bring the transactions to the current stage as in legacy system.
The problem we are facing now is to bring the workflows to the exact same stage so that the later processing can be monitored by workflows.
e.g. For a change of supplier scenario where the current state of the switch document is not in completed status and the respective workflow is waiting for certain actions to be actioned how do we synchronise the workflow to the same state as it was in the legacy.
I would like to know how in other projects we have acheived migrating running instances of a given business transaction in to workflows.

    Hi Imran,
That's a real tough one.  I have never been thru this migration effort like yours, but I would hazard a guess that you can't easily accomplish this...
One approach - let the documents go thru workflow from start to where they should be.  This may require a lot of manual steps (doing prveious approvals, etc) but at least you get the full auditable workflow log.  Depending on the volume, this may be do-able.
Another (perhaps not too late to implement) is to determine the state your documents are in, and implement an abbreviated version of your 'real' workflow - with the prior steps eliminated from the flow, so that it picks up where you need it.  Or, add conditional logic to test the status of your document, and then proceed to the correct step.
Thinking totally out of the box here, but I hope this is some help,
    Sue

  • What workflow runs during bulk action 'update only Lighthouse' is ran?

    Hello,
We were trying to set some deferred tasks via our bulk action list. To do this we are running Updates, and passing a parameter that is noticed by our custom Update WF. The custom update workflow then sets the deferred tasks. This takes a while to execute however, and we have about 30,000 accounts we want to update. To try and speed it up, we were playing around with the option to update only the lighthouse account. However, when this runs, it does not fire our custom Update WF. So.... What workflow is it firing off? Can this workflow be modified?
    Thanks,
    Jim

Try using the BPE workflow debugger to identify the workflow that runs. Set a break point in the user form assigned to the administrator you are running the bulk action as and proceed step by step. You should get the workflow being executed.

  • Limit to workflows running on a Sharepoint site?

Is there a limit to how many workflows you should be running on an SP Online website? I ask because I am supposed to be developing a workflow that waits for a follow up day on contracts to send an email reminder to the person involved with that to remind
them a contract is near renewal time. If we have 30 contracts and they are all running that workflow can that cause instability later on for the site?

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to know the limit number of the workflows in SharePoint online.
If you have 30 contracts, it would not be caused instability for the site.
Testing has verified that all workflow activation events are processed for an on-item-creation workflow association when up to 5,000 items are created in a single bulk upload.
Exceeding this limit could cause workflow initiation to time out.
There is an article about the limit of the workflow, you can have a look at it.

  • Initial workflow runs on WFE, then APP server, loses dependency?

I'm still having issues with a WFE deployment to a farm with a WFE, an APP, and a SQL server. I'm trying to get my head around it. Workflow timer jobs run on the APP server, in accordance with Microsoft recommendations.
    User adds a list item
When he / she submits their request, an Update workflow is kicked off -
this part of the workflow I believe is still running on WFE because I see my printed messages in the ULS logs on the WFE
If the request to update a list item is approved, the workflow kicks off a timer job.
The SharePoint timer service then picks up the job on the APP server - I know this because I see my printed messages on the APP server instead of WFE.
Submitted request passed on to a database on a different server.
Getting the right solution has been challenging as I've been struggling to ask the right questions. I've confirmed that the SharePoint 2010 Timer Job is started on both servers with same account. I'm thinking that the wsp deploys something to the WFE,
but not to the APP server. For #5 to happen, that something needs to live on the WFE (unless I want to change the service configuration and add Workflow Timer Jobs on both servers.)
I'm thinking that the solution should be to manually add whatever those files are deployed via the wsp to the APP server as well.
    Scott

Best practice states that Foundation Web runs on every server in the farm, as solutions must be built around the exception of not running Foundation Web on particular servers. You're encountering that issue, the solution wasn't built to accommodate for
this type of architecture. There is little reason to not run Foundation Web on all servers, including performance.

  • Marketing Workflow (running on Windows Server) can not read files on Linux

We are currently facing an issue in fetching the WSD responses stored in XML format and importing it into Siebel DB. These XML files are created in Siebel Linux servers(Temp folder) where EAI Object manager is running. But Marketing workflows (Mktg Master import workflow) is running on Windows server ( where marketing file system installed). Mktg Master import workflows are not able to read XMLs stored in Linux servers.
When we monitor the workflow we see an error:
“Error invoking service 'Mktg File Manager', method 'ProcessFile' at step 'File Processing'.(SBL-BPR-00162) --Error getting XML from file '/siebel/gtwysrvr/fs/temp/1-158U3XB121038.xml'.” (SBL-EAI-04261)
How do I overcome this? What is best practice?

  • How workflow runs

    Hi Experts,
Lets assume that there is an active linkage between an event and a workflow. As I know the workflow somehow will start running when the event is triggered. But I would like to know how workflow started running.
Is it starting immediately (no background job)?
    OR
is there any background job scheduled for running the workflow if the corresponding event is triggered?
if there is background job, what is the background job and what is the period (1min, 5min, etc)?
    Thanks,
    Sukhbold

    Hi Sukhbold,
SAP system starts the workflow by creating a workitem ( which is nothing but a run time instance of wokflow template ).
In that case SAP system need to know for which template workitem needs to be created.
There may be millions of workflow template number and SAP system will use only that one which is mention in the SWE2.
    Let me explain with example.
    Object Category BO
    Object Type     CATS
    Event           SAVED
    Receiver Type   WS93000002
    Receiver Call                            Function Module
    Receiver Function Module         SWW_WI_CREATE_VIA_EVENT_IBF
    Check Function Module
    Receiver Type Function Module
Now when SAVED event is generated in the system  SAP system will create the workitem of type WS93000002
    by using FM SWW_WI_CREATE_VIA_EVENT_IBF.
Acually you can not debug a workflow as there is not place to set the break point. In ECC 6 there is some option to set break point but I do not have mutch knoledge in that.
Simply FM  SWW_WI_CREATE_VIA_EVENT_IBF is used to start workflow by creating workitem. You do not have to worry how  SAP does that.

  • Automator workflow "run shell script" keeps running. How to stop?

Because i want two instances of dropbox running simultaneously on my Mac, I set up a small automator workflow application. The workflow consist of a simple shell script:
    Or in text:
    bash
    HOME=$HOME/Dropbox-quivertree /Applications/Dropbox.app/Contents/MacOS/Dropbox &
The problem is that once the application runs, or i execute the script from within automator, it just keeps running (i get the little cog in my menubar). Anybody have an idea how to automatically stop after it has launched dropbox?
    Thanks!
    Kim

I do not have dropbox on my computer, so I tested using the Calculator application. The solution proposed by Mattis S.F. does work, but his explanation does not hold true in my case. Initially, I successfully tried
    HOME=$HOME/Dropbox-quivertree nohup /Applications/Calculator.app/Contents/MacOS/Calculator >/dev/null 2>&1 &
If I remove the “nohup”, the result does not change. Removal of the “/dev/null 2>&1”, however, results in the same problem originally described by Kim van der Leeuw. My guess is the background process has stdout and stderr redirected by default back to the automator. When redirected to /dev/null, the automator no longer waits for the background process to complete. To summarize, change
    HOME=$HOME/Dropbox-quivertree /Applications/Dropbox.app/Contents/MacOS/Dropbox &
    to
    HOME=$HOME/Dropbox-quivertree /Applications/Dropbox.app/Contents/MacOS/Dropbox >/dev/null 2>&1 &

  • Can SharePoint Apps and SharePoint 2013 workflow run on the same servers?

As the SharePoint 2013 workflow manager can run on non-sharePoint servers. Can I also use those server to host SharePoint apps in the Provider host model?
Or should I keep them separate?
This is a medium size deployment, 2 WFEs, 2 Apps, 1 Clustered DB.   I would be adding 2 additional servers for hosting workflow manager, and SharePoint apps.
One other option I can think of would be to host the Workflow manager on the SharePoint Apps servers.  And then host the SharePoint Apps on the 2 separate servers.
Any guidance or gatchas would be great the hear about.
    Thanks!
    Joshua Fuente

Yes, you should be able to run SharePoint Provider hosted apps using the Workflow Server as the provider.  There is nothing in workflow manager that prevents running web sites on the same server.

    Hi Experts,
I am new to Controlling, I am in Support phase. We have ECC 6.0,
I want to know can we schedule the Costing Run on certain Frequency based on Organisation Requirement???
    Please Reply its urgent.
    Thanks in advance.
    Rajdeep

    Hi Rajdeep
We can do costing run using Tcode CK11N or CK40N any time but you can schedule marking and release as per organization requirement in Tcode CK24.When you go for CK24 you can select option for backround proccessing and we can schedule the specific time.
Hope this helps and if found useful then reward.

  • Urgent - Cannot run sub query from VB 6

    Hello!
I'm having a problem with my Oracle OLE DB connection in windows using Visual Basic 6.0 SP3.
I can run normal queries just fine, but a correlated sub query like this:
    select A.col_a, (select col_b from Tab_B where id = A.id) from Tab_A A
    returns the following error:
    "ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis"
But I'm able to run the query witout errors in Toad with the correct result!
So basically, I cannot run a (correlated?) sub query via OLE DB...
What am I doing wrong?? Is it a parameter that I need to set on the connection of command?
I'm not using stored procedures, only plain text SQL.
Very thankful for a quick answer, this is really urgent. If you have the possibility, please e-mail me at:
    [email protected]
    Thank you in advance.
    Best regards,
    Bnar Baban

    Hi!
I'm running the latest version of Oracle OLE DB...when checking more in detail, it seems that the provider parses the code in a way, that makes the "(select" part of the sub statement be interpreted as a column name....when it does not find a right parenthesis, but a white space, it complains.
I switched to Microsoft MSDAORA provider, and now it works perfectly...

  • Urgent: RTF runs successfully in local, but no output on JDE

    Hello
I'm having a problem with my RTF. The following codes below are in my RTF, my RTF outputs successfully when run locally. But if i upload the same RTF in JDE, it doesn't show any output.
In the error log i get an error in the foreach_number loop.
I had another RTF before with the variable@incontext:G1, and i had to remove the G1 to make it work. My output must be as follows: Original - Duplicate - Duplicate for each invoice number. (For each invoice number i must get Original - Dup - Dup, then it does the same for the next invoice no)
    <?for-each-group@section:/R56565/Phase_1___Build_Work_File_S1/Reference_Creapharm_S2_Group/On_Payment_Terms_S3;./Invoice_Number_ID27?>
    <?variable@incontext:G1;current-group()?>
    <?for-each@section:xdoxslt:foreach_number($_XDOCTX,1,$G1/Invoice_Copies_INVC_ID309,1)?>
    <?end for-each?>
    <?end for-each?>
If i remove the $G1, it wont work and i will get no output. Can you please help me on that. Thank you very much.

How have you narrrowed the error to this particular portion of the code :
    AND PC_SCHD_PYMT_DT IN (
    SELECT MIN (G.PC_SCHD_PYMT_DT)
    FROM PT_IL_PREM_COLL G
    WHERE G.PC_POL_SYS_ID = POL_SYS_ID
    AND G.PC_PAID_FLAG = (SELECT 'N' FROM DUAL)--'N'
    AND NVL (G.PC_FLEX_02, 'N') 'P'
AND G.PC_SCHD_PYMT_DT <= TO_DATE('11-MAY-11','DD-MON-RR')) --ERROR INVALID NUMBERThe error occurs while the query is being executed, while some values are being evaluated as they are fetched.
So, you also need to check other places where you have a VARCHAR2 for a NUMBER.
See the very simple example by Tom Kyte at
