URL button Issue

I have this code to connect to my buttons:

When I link buttons to webpages, here is the code on a button

Pay attention if you are using the button inside a movie clip
or if the page you are trying to load is in a subfolder.

Safari copy url button doesn't work

I just upgraded from an ipad2 to an iPad air 2. Before, if I wanted to copy and paste a url I'd use the copy button. Now,on the new iPad air 2, the copy button just wipes out whatever I've previously copied, and doesn't copy the url.

You tap and hold down in the URL field until you get the option to select all. Then you choose the option to select all. An option to Copy appears and you select that and then you should be able to paste that URL into a text field.
Safari copy url button doesn't work
I Realize that you must know the steps but I am just double checking. If that is not working for you, and you are not having copy and paste issues elsewhere in other apps, I would try clearing Safari, force close it and then reset your iPad.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
Now force close Safari. In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

My wife's new iphone4 (a replacement for a 5 month-old iphone 4 with home button issues) is not recognized by itunes. Every other ios device in the house using that computer and Apple ID is. Any suggestions?

If the new phone has already been setup, make sure the phone and iTunes are both set to the same account.
You might also have to authorize this computer for the new device under the store menu.

URL buttons not working in Powerpoint

I have just created an Xcelsuis report and exported this to Powerpoint.
Now it opens up fine in Powerpoint, but my URL buttons do not work (they do not open the excel files i want, i.e. My button is URL: C:\Test\Test.xls)
When exporting to a pdf format this URL button works fine.
Please can you advise how I can get this working for my Powerpoint.

When you export the SWF to your desktop or into a PPT it will not have permission to access external data by default (or call a URL).
You need to add C:\Program Files\...\PowerPoint.exe as to the list of trusted items using the Adobe Global Security Settings Manager, see the Xcelsius Release notes for more information about the Flash Player Security...

Suddenly, my custom url buttons disappeared from the navigation bar and I can no longer add new ones. FF22

I am using Firefox 22 (I like its features and do not want the features added in later version.) I have added a handful of custom URL buttons to the navigation bar that allow me to go instantly to websites I visit frequently. There was/is a function in Firefox for adding such buttons. This morning, after leaving my computer on all night, I found that the custom buttons had disappeared and I could no longer find the function for adding new ones. Can you tell me what has happened and how I can add custom URL buttons? I will appreciate your help. Thank you.

I solved my own problem. This function was added by Google Shortcuts, which somehow became disabled. After fussing ariound for a few minutes. I was able to restore it.

Next and previous button issue with Prettyphoto in filtered gallery

URL button doesn't work after export into ppt/word/pdf

Hi,
I am working in Xcelsius.
Lets say I have placed a URL button in the Canvas and mapped that to a path of the file(which is not actualy an URL),but any path of the file which is present in the local system
After exporting this dashboard into ppt(or word/pdf),when i click the button,its not redirecting me to a target.
But during Preview of dashboard,it works fine.But after exporting,the URL button not redirects me to the path specified.

URL rewriting issue

Hello all,
I am having a url rewriting issue where the first time someone accesses the website with a browser that has cookies enabled my jsp pages will still encode all of the URL's with the jsessionid. Which I believe should not happen unless cookies are disabled.
Why is this occuring?
Once the user goes to another page in the site or the second time they bring up the site in the same browser the jsessionid is not written to the URL links. This only happens on first access.
I am using Tomcat 5.5
response.encodeURL() to encode the links
Is this a container or programming error?

I think my approach would work if I remove the Asset API stuff from here and put them into a helper class, which would be then called from the wrapper JSP.
I'd rather not install 3rd-party extensions just for url rewriting, at least not yet...

Survey - Generate URL button is grayed out

Exit button issue in Captivate 5

Hi,
This is regarding the exit button on the playback controls. I have been using Captivate from version 2. Recently, started using version 5. When I published my simulation, the exit button is not working as earlier. It is also not working from- web server(IIS, Apache), when opened as pop-up as well. In local too however not working. I tried in both IE 7 and Firefox latest version.
I have seen the response from Adobe on this issue on this forum. It was quite surprising; it did not talk about the solution at all;
What I am not sure about is -
1. Why the exit button was working earlier versions.. why is it not working in latest?
2. Why should when simple code like top.close(); works fine (when coded inside the Captivate)?
3. Why is Adobe not acknowledging the issue?
4. Why there is no working around provided in the forums for this issue?
Could anybody please help me understanding this problem? I am really frustrated.

You are absolutely correct! The moment reporting is activated, the EXIT no longer functions. Although in my case, we are not using the time/slider bar but custom navigation buttons with an exit button on the last slide (and at the top of each slide).
This whole EXIT button issue (not just Cp 5 but Cp 6 as well) is nearly bringing me to the point of tears! This is really ridiculous! I am in a tough position right now where my manager may be wondering if I am right person for this job because I cannot make a little EXIT button work in our lessons.
"Solutions" or excuses that I have received
- Just remove the EXIT button -- No, we use a standard corporate template which hundreds of employees are already familiar with. To remove the EXIT button and instruct the learner to just close the browser would be unacceptable and a rather inelegant way to exiting a lesson.
- It is a tough issue that isn't Captivate's fault
With all due respect to the awesome person who keeps stating that, I have a feeling that you have not used other rapid elearning tools. Building an EXIT button in all the other major elearning tools is easy and works every time.
The source of my personal difficulty is that every other course that was built by previous developers (not using Captivate), all open in a child window and all have a working EXIT button.
I believe the PRIMARY reason for this problem might be in the fact that... inexplicably... Captivate does not offer an option to start a lesson in a CHILD window (i.e. separate browser window). This is why no javascript in the world will allow the tab to close (e.g. EXIT button). Closing a tab or browser window via javascript only works when the same instance was previously opened by a script using the window.open method. In other words, you can only use the javascript method to close an instance that was spawned via javascript.
This should explain why lessons published in Lectora (et al) always have working EXIT buttons every time and in every browser (minor exception is Opera for unrelated reasons).
The second red box is just another one of my problems with Captivate 6 (not related to this topic).

I've been racking my brain trying to modify Captivate's HTML/javascript in order to carry over the AICC (or SCORM - same process) variables into a child window.
Like another participant stated, you can't simply rename the original index.html to index2.html and create a redirection like this:

Yes, I tried this as well... but unfortunately, it breaks the AICC to LMS connection. *BUT* I can promise one thing... using the above redirection, does guarantee that your EXIT button works every time! Pity the LMS connection breaks!

It can only be serviced in the country where it was originally sold. Take it back to the US or send it to someone you know there to take it in for service.

How can I format the URL Button?

I am using multiple URL buttons that point to cells of data that reflect numbers, such as %, $ and #,###. I have tried formating the excel spreadsheet directly, however, the format of the URL button isn't coming through?

What you want to do the url button,just create a URL and paste in excel sheet and link the cell to URL button.But you need to split the URL syntax and palce into 2 cells. one cell contains the server details and another one contains the prompt values and concatenate these two cells.use the concatenated cell as URL button destination cell.

I'm trying to set up a service URL button that will allow users to logout of extension mobility without having to go into the Services button.
I setup the following Phone Logout service:
http://<IP Address>/emapp/EMAppServlet?doLogout=true&device=#DEVICENAME#
If I access this from the services button, it works, but if I hit the URL line key it fails.
I did an Ethereal trace, and found out it is sending the wrong device ID when it fails.
bad logout url: SEP00016CEADFF0
good logout url:SEP0013CED06212 (correct device name)
Any ideas what might cause this? This is CCM 4.1(3)sr3b

Check the registry entry of the Cisco CallManager Extension Mobility:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cisco SystemsInc.\DirectoryConfiguration\AppUsers\CCMSysUser.
Make sure that an entry for "Password" exists and that the "UserID" is "CCMSysUser"
If everything is set up correctly, perform a Stop and restart of Internet Information Service (IIS).

IPhone 5 Power button issues after recent update.

After this most recent update, my power button is not working as it normally does. It takes two or three attempts to turn the phone off and more than once to turn it. Sometimes it turns on and immediately turns off. This is happening only after this update.

Yes 7.1.2 I had a 7.1 backup, and no issues with that... but then I did a clean DL of 7.1.2 and once again with NO apps on the iphone power button issues... as mentioned. So it is not the apps, nor songs, nor anything else...just 7.1.2 I am now running 7.1 no issues.

Missing "Generate URL" button

Hi folks.
We have recently upgraded our SolMan installation (3.20) to Support Package Level 16 in hopes of getting the "Generate URL" button under document attributes.
The strange thing is that the button doesn't show.
Do we have to do some configuration in SolMan for the button to be shown?

I know this feature only from release SolMan 4.0. There you had to activate three services in SICF:
/default_host/sap/bc/solman/SolManDocuments
/default_host/sap/bc/solman/defaultUser (and all activities below)
/default_host/sap/bc/contentserver
Then I could at least see the button. To access the documents you have to assign two profile parameters in addition:
login/accept_sso2_ticket = 1 (from default 0)
login/create_sso2_ticket = 2 (from default 0)
