Use webutil in ias10g

hi,
when i run a form developped with forms10+oracle10g deployed in ias 10g
i have this message
oracle.forms.webutil.file Transfer.fileTransfer bean not found

all is here but what is rt.jar
and this is .cfg

Webutil-Forms(IAS10g) on Linux O.S does not work

Hi folks!.
I have a forms applic. that use webutil library.IAS10g(9.0.4) it is installed on linux,but
i can not execute the entire enviroment.So i put binaries,webutil.jar and jacob.jar
on a windows box with IAS9i(9.0.2) and it is work fine.
I am not sure,but i think it is a problem with sign.properties,sign.bat,and makecert.bat
files.Cause i need webutil for encryptation purposes,and on java console
when a get into enviroment through IAS9i on Windows i see all certification executions on
it,but when i log on Linux-IAS10g enviroment i don't see any certification executions
on java console.
Any people that use Forms(IAS10g)-webutil over Linux O.S could help me?

Two reasons why webutil will not work.
1) your env. Lang = UTL8 ( this is the first problem)
2) in webutil.pll there is a function webutil_core...
where the webutil.cfg will be read. Here the
libaray will hang up. Insert a return result... then it will work fine.

as in the user manual i did the changes..
except one..when i set
baseHTMLjinitiator=d:\webutil\server\webutiljini.htm
it gives the
Duplicate Parameter on Command Line..
when i commented the above baseHTMLjinitiator=d:\webutil\server\webutiljini.htm
and run the form ..that time formd gives the following error
oracle.forms.webutil.file.FileFunctions...
How to solve ..this issue ?

How to Print a PDF file and Close the ACrobat Reader opened using WEBUTIL

I have used WEBUTIL successfully and printed files using webutil_host.nonblocking builtin. What happens is that after printing the file the Acrobat reader stays on the desktop of the client PC. How to close that file opened programmatically. I am unable to close it using any any commands or using following builtins from WEBUTIL.

WEBUTIL_HOST.TERMINATE_PROCESS(PROCESS_ID);My command to directly call the Acrobat reader file and print it is by using this command.

I think if you use the start-command, the execution is asynchronously and you won't get the correct process-id. Try to execute Acorbat directly without the cmd /c start in front of it.

Error in loading a jpeg file using webutil

I´m using webutil with forms9i and got errors when loadin g jpeg files. I selected some files and worked ok. Some files (ones with blank characters inside their names) blow up the form.
The resultant error message is:
FRM-92102:a network error has occurred. The Forms Client has attempted to reestablish its connection to the server1 time(s) without success. Please check the network connection and try again later.

It would help if you mentioned which bit of file transfer you are doing there are about 8 different options..
For instance I tried Clint_to_AS with a file name containing a space and all was OK.

Open bat file on client machine using webutil

Hi all.
I'm on devsuite 10g.
I want to run a bat file on client machine using client_host function of webutil.
I have tried first to execute the bat file with mouse double-click in order to check if it is ok, and it works.
Now I want to execute this file from my form using webutil.
Here is my code:

FabrizioThis seems like a directory or OS level permission issue on the batch file, What is the error you got when you tried drag and drop the batch file in an DOS window???
I think you need to upload the image to a site and use the markup for the image, include the full URL of the uploaded file between ! (exclamation marks) something like ! http://../post.gif ! without the spaces.

Using Webutil(CLIENT_GET_FILE_NAME) without result

It is actually a conversion from forms6. The call is in a library procedure rather than in the form.
The original call is:
v_filename := client_get_file_name(v_photodir, NULL, v_ff, NULL, OPEN_FILE, TRUE);
I have also tried: v_filename := client_GET_FILE_NAME(File_Filter=> v_ff);
The webutil log stops at the point of open file and the java exception appears on the console.

Call a Form using Webutil from the Menu loose focus on the applet

I have the following problem:
When calling a form using webutil from the menu the focus on the applet (I mean the Forms Application window) is lost and I have to click on the window to get back the focus on the application.
Any advice ?

Strange problem using webutil "WEBUTIL_CLIENTINFO.GET_HOST_NAME"

in a form in with a use (and work fine) some function of webutil (like client_get_file_name etc) i have try to use this function :

where b0.host_name is a char filed of 256.
when i try to execute this forms dons not work this lasty function and appear this error :
wuc-015 your form must contain the following BEAN : getclient info ???
i don't understan why ??
in the same form all other function of webutil works fine, only this ??

I've got it
quotation from the Webutil install guide:
the Form has instantiated the WebUtil PJCs. This means that you cannot call WebUtil
functions before the Forms UI is rendered. This would include triggers such as PREFORM,
WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE and WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE for
the first block in the Form.
Likewise you cannot call functions after the UI has been destroyed for instance in POSTFORM.
If you do need to use WebUtil at Forms startup, it is recommended that you create a timer
with a short duration (say 1ms) in your When-New-Form-Instance trigger, then make the
WebUtil call in a When-Timer-Expired trigger.

Word file opened using WEBUTIL getting locked

Hi, I am opening a word file using webutil's client_host and it is getting locked even after I close it. There is no winword.exe running in the machine(Task Manager). If I try to open the file, it says 'the file is being used by another user, do you want to make a copy of it ?'. Is any setting in the word itself or is it the default behaviour of client_host. Any ideas ?

After uploading file in BLOB using webutil file on system locked?

I uploaded file in BLOB using webutil upload utility. But after uploading it locks the file and i cannot delete the file unless i close the iexplorer window.
Is there any way to unlock the file and delete it with out closing the application(iexplorer). If any body knows please reply.

Getting the domain name of the Client PC using WebUtil

Is there a way I can find the domain name of the computer running the forms using webutil.
I use WEBUTIL_CLIENTINFO.GET_HOST_NAME to get the client computer name. I would also need the domain name.

Try this:
message(CLIENT_WIN_API_ENVIRONMENT.GET_ENVIRONMENT_STRING('USERDOMAIN'));I believe if no domain is defined, it will return the host name. Also, this obviously will only work on Windows clients.

How to Use Webutil in Reports (in After Report Trigger)

I am downloading from FORMS using Webutil is working fine and exporting data into excel.
I have placed the same RPT2XLS package into the reports which i have used in FORMS but it is not working and "ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called" error is coming.
The reason using RPT2XLS in reports to convert complex Matrix reports into Ms. Excel.
Oracle Application Server, Reports & Forms Version is 10g.
I guess, the reason is webutil configuration in reports (as its working for forms) but i don't know exactly where to configure for reports.
Any idea?

You use webutil in Forms, not in Reports:
"WebUtil is a pre-packaged set of components which provide client-server type functionality in Web-deployed Oracle Forms applications." There is no client-server type functionality in Reports.

Loading a BLOB to a table, using webutil

Is there somewhere I can see a comprehensive example of loading a BLOB to a table, using webutil. That is where the user browses and selects a picture (or whatever) from the client machine, and then the file is loaded to the database.
