User Cannot manually Type LOV in Prompt Screen
Hi Experts,
WEBI reports built on OLAP Universes (Universes created on SAP BW) has below problem:
As you know when user click's on Run Query or Refresh Data to run reports a prompt screen will pop up and in normal cases he has option of Selecting values for LOV's or user can type his value and run report But reports built on OLAP Universes user must select only from list of values.
Is there any way that user can directly type his value and Run Query/Report.
-Thanks,
DEEPU
Thanks Rohit for the information.
Is that Lov object in your code should be Key or Text? for me key is not passing.
Below is the code reflected into Universe as a filter if we create the prompt (User Variable) at BEx Query
<OPTIONAL><FILTER KEY="[ZREG_BO]"><CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="InList"><CONSTANT TECH_NAME="@Prompt('Enter Subscriber Region:','A',''Class\Lov Object',multi,primary_key)"/></CONDITION></FILTER></OPTIONAL>
The difference between your code and BEx code is that BEx code uses Index Key ("Primary key" instead of "free") and it uses technical name (CONSTANT TECH_NAME instead of CONSTANT NAME).
If i create prompts at Universe level instead of using the BEx Prompts (User Variables) Will there will be any performance impact ?
Your help is highly appreciated.
-Thanks,
DEEPU.

Timestamp for Week LOV in WebI Prompt Screen
Hi,
I have Week Ending Date prompt in my report where I display all the Saturday dates .
When the report is refreshed, in the prompt screen the week data shows the timestamp as below.
12/10/2011 12:00:00 AM
12/3/2011 12:00:00 AM
11/26/2011 12:00:00 AM
11/19/2011 12:00:00 AM
But in the universe, the same LOV does not show any timestamp, only the date is displayed. I tried using Cast(WEEK.WK_DESC as Date) in the universe but still in the WebI the timestamp is coming.
Also in TD, this week column is defined as Date data type only.
Can any one please help why this timestamp is coming in the WebI prompt screen and how to remove it?
Thanks in advance.Hi Lavanya
The sample time stamp 12:00:00am which is coming with the date object LOV in webi even if there is no time stamp in the database, is the default by design behaviour of businessobjetcs.
You can use formatdate() or Todate() to change the format like dd/mm/yyyy
And also this below link will help for universe level

hope this helps u

I have problem with iTunes story (secure link to itunes store failed). I make In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in netsh winsock reset the itune story is solve but after i close itunes the problem is back
The results show that you have a proxy server set and this can often cause problems with iTunes.
The proxy setting can be accessed in Internet options>>Connections>>LAN Settings.
Try un-checking the proxy server check box.
It might also be a good idea to run a malware check if you didn't know you had the proxy server set.
You can download a free version of an excellent scanner- Malwarebytes here:

Some user cannot save Dashboard Prompt Selections OBIEE
We are having issue with some users cannot able save dashboard prompt selections of themselves, even though the group they belong to has rights to it.
This issue happens only for some users, it works fine for other users. They all belong to the same group.
Access privilege on the Saved Selections is set for "Everyone".
Any help will be great appreciatedVerify if the 'My folders' for each user has been enabled or not. Usually , if 'My Folders' is disabled for that user there would'nt be any "_selections" folder created in the individual user catalog folder. Once the "My Folders" is enabled for that user via Manage Previlages , the users should be able to save the dashboard prompt selection 'for themselves and also for other too'.All the selections by the user would be saved to this folder.

Customization/Filteration (User LOV,User Type) LOV attached with the role
Dear All
I want to Filter both Lov's attached with the custom attribute having Role type in Oracle Workflow.For example I want to restrict only Oracle Application User's appear on user type LOV and on second column i want to display user_id in Lov
Best Regards
Edited by: Muhammad Danish Younus on Jun 13, 2011 5:28 AMif I use Validate From List property, the form is displaying the LOV everytime I query the block eventhough the correct value is populated
There is something wrong with your LOV or with the way you populate your block. An LOV should not pop up when you query data into the block. -
Description:
The following example account [email protected] is an on premise AD account being used as a shared mailbox in the cloud. We have discovered that regardless of what we do, not a single user can edit the calendar entries.
The following message is shown in Outlook Click to Run 2013 when an entry. "New appointment" button is also greyed out, including "Calendar Permissions" and some others.
This problem started when the shared mailbox was created wrongly by creating it in the cloud first and we had to delete it and start over. The "in the cloud" user was deleted and the same user was created in AD on-premise with the same account name
and then Dir Synced with the cloud. A license was assigned, a user mailbox on exchange online created and the type was converted to a shared mailbox and Editor rights were defined on the calendar folder for specific users.
Actions performed:
Action01: gave users Editor rights on calendar folder through powershell
Result01: Rights correctly added and can be seen when get-mailboxfolderpermission is ran
Action02: Opened calendar with Outlook and tried to edit entries
Result02: Error message pops up saying "You don't have permission to create an entry in this folder. Right click the folder and check..."
Action03: Opened calendar with OWA of users
Result03: Users can edit the shared calendar on OWA
Action04: Gave users Full Access permission on mailbox with automapping on
Result04: Users can edit calendar in Outlook
Action05: Gave users Full Access permission on mailbox with automapping off (mailbox no longer visible in outlook)
Result05: Users cannot edit calendar in Outlook
Action06: Removed Full Access permission on mailbox for users
Result06: User cannot edit calendar in Outlook
Action07: Removed [email protected] from on-premise AD, performed dirsync, removed account from ms online using remove-msoluser -removefromrecyclebin
Result07: No trace of the account was anywhere to be found.
Action08: Created new [email protected] account on on-premise AD, assigned o365 license to user including exchange online license
Result08: New empty Exchange online mailbox was created
Action09: gave users Editor rights on calendar folder through powershell
Result09: Rights correctly added and can be seen when get-mailboxfolderpermission is ran
(Note: whenever mailboxfolder permissions are modified for this mailbox it's as if they are ran THREE times in a row, the first time they are applied and the powershell gives immediately 3 exceptions behind this:

Any other mailbox does not do this when setting mailboxfolder permissions)
Action10: Opened calendar with Outlook and tried to edit entries
Result10: Error message pops up saying "You don't have permission to create an entry in this folder. Right click the folder and check..."
Action11: Tried on a fresh new pc with first time logon
Result11: did not help
Additional information:
We have seen this problem with another user which was recreated, when he shares his calendar with others and people get the calendar invite email and click "Open Calendar" they receive a popup "The folder cannot be found".
My first impression points to a corruption/bug in the GAL on exchange online, since we're using o365 for midsize bussinesses we cannot use the AdressList role to expose the adresslist cmdlts for deeper troubleshooting.
PS:
Issue tested on different computers and with different user accounts, not a single user can edit the calendar of [email protected] when editor rights are given.
Noticed when editing rights for the shared mailbox in powershell after the first confirmation line
Office 2013 is click to run was updated to latest version, version number: 15.0.4659.1001Greetings Gil,
I haven't heard of that one.
Questions:
Does the calendar in question show up in the "Subscriptions" category of iCal?
If you remove all accounts from iCal > Preferences > Accounts and quit and re-open iCal, does the calendar in question vanish? If so, does the calendar come back when you re-input the servers you need into iCal > Preferences > Accounts?
Can you provide a screen shot of your calendar sidebar.
While you answer those questions, some troubleshooting to try:
Try dragging one of your other calendars above this calendar that won't delete and then quit / re-open iCal and attempt to delete the calendar in question.
Failing that:
1. First make an iCal backup: Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
2. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
3. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
4. Launch iCal and test.
If the issue persists at this point:
Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
---NOTE: Removing these files may remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
Hope that helps! -
Samba Users Cannot Authenticate?
I just want to start this thread by saying samba makes me want to kill myself. I love it so much, that it makes me want to rip my heart out and feed it to stray dogs every time I need to write a new configuration. Because I truly hate configuring it. Ok, with that steam having been blown off, let's jump into the problem I've been chasing for hours.
My users cannot login to samba shares. Simple as dirt. Every single time I access the shares as a user, I am prompted for my password, I enter my password, and the prompt immediately asks me again, as if I've entered the wrong password.
Heading off the obvious: Yes, I've added samba users with pdbedit -a -u [username]. The unix permissions on the folder I am trying to access as a samba user are 755, and I am trying to access the folder as its owner. My server smb.conf is included below.
[global]
workgroup = WORKGROUP
passdb backend = tdbsam
netbios name = ArchServ
name resolve order = bcast host lmhosts wins
server string = ""
printing = cups
printcap name = cups
printcap cache time = 750
cups options = raw
use client driver = yes
map to guest = Bad User
local master = yes
preferred master = yes
os level = 65
usershare allow guests = Yes
usershare max shares = 100
usershare owner only = False
security = share
#username map = /etc/samba/smbusers
[printers]
comment = All Printers
path = /var/spool/samba
create mask = 0700
guest ok = Yes
printable = Yes
print ok = Yes
browseable = No
[print$]
comment = Printer Drivers
path = /var/lib/samba/printers
[Home - user1]
comment = Deyla's Home folder
path = /home/user1
create mask = 0755
guest ok = yes
browsable = yes
write list = user1
public = yes
[Home - user2]
comment = James' Home folder
path = /home/user2
create mask = 0755
guest ok = yes
browsable = yes
write list = user2
public = yes
[Transmission Home]
comment = Torrent downloads
path = /home/transmission
create mask = 0775
guest ok = yes
browsable = yes
write list = user1 user2
public = yes
They work flawlessly as guest shares, and I have no problem gaining access... but when I try to log into a share as a user, the user will absolutely not authenticate, and it is the most frustrating, puzzling enigma to me. I formerly had this very samba configuration on an Ubuntu file server, and had no problems with the share behaving exactly as I wanted it to. I cannot for the life of me figure out why my users cannot authenticate.
Please help! Any and all tips are appreciated! Thank you in advance!Thanks to Swerdina over at the OpenSUSE forums, I was able to solve my samba issue (thread). In a nutshell, my problem was the last active line in my [global] stanza, which was set to "security = share". By setting this global setting to "security = user" it fixed my problem and now allows me to invoke my shares with user privileges if I so choose to. Hopefully this helps someone who may have had a similar problem.

CProject user cannot edit (confirm) their assigned tasks
Dear Experts,
we are facing an unexpected behaviour on cProjects: project user cannot edit (confirm) their assigned tasks, because the authorizations at the task level for user appear as Read (authorizations view on task), while on the project definition, for the same tasks the user is assigned Write permissions. Something must be happening in between that we are not getting right.
More details on the configuration behind and the process:
- In Project definition level, project roles (coming from a project template) are staffed to users (business partners)
- Project roles coming from project template are assigned to a project role type with Default authorization set as Read. Because we want all project users to be able to access in read mode to the whole project and tasks; and then be able to edit (Confirm) only their assigned tasks. Except for the project manager role, who has a different project role type assigned wih Admin default authorization set
- After making the staffing at project level, this seems to be working fine: all project users have read access assigned at project structure level and rest of tasks, except the project manager who has Admin authorization. And for each task, the user assigned to the task has write permissions.
- But when a user open the task from the tasks dashboard, and go to the Authorizations tab, then the user has Read permission for the same task, which causes the consequence of not being able to Edit and Confirm.
Can you guide us to understand why the Write authorization is being overriden to Read at user access? Should not the default authorization “read” at project role type be overwritten by the assignment of the user to the task?
Maybe is there other configuration setting that is missing or needs to be checked?
Many thanks in advance,
RobertoThanks Ravi, I answer your questions:
1) How did you give write access? - Manually in ACL-Authorisations tab or through selection of responsible role/person in basic tab.
we use the second option. We create projects from templates that have roles assigned to tasks. After we complete staffing in the project, we assign users (business partners) to each project role. After this, automatically, users are assigned as task Responsible and receive their tasks assigned in the task dashboard.
Question here: since we do not use Resources, the field responsible resource is not used/filled- Is this required?
2) Whether the task accessed by the user is in 'Released' status?
yes, tasks are released, so that ther users receive the task in Tasks Dashboard, but due to the permissions issue, they cannot confirm task
The only possible workaround we have found to solve the issue is to assign Write authorizations to all users, but at project level. So the consequence is that users can edit all the project tasks (not only their assigned tasks) and we want to avoid that. We want users to have read access to whole project and write access to their assigned tasks (by staffinf Users to roles)
thanks again for help.
best regards,

Clicking on user does not bring up password prompt in Fast Switch
I have two users on my mac mini running OS X 10.7.4, both are administrators. When I click on my username in the upper right hand corner of the screen and select the second user, I can type in the password and "rotate" on over to the other user. However, from the second user account when I try and go back to the first user via the same process, no prompt appears when clicking on the user name from the drop down in the top right of the screen. Any solution?
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -

But have set up an Apple account. and went to down a free app, but then after i type in my password, and it goes to add it to the desktop (as it were), a message stating "cannot connect to itunes" comes up and the app does not download.
I am not sure what i am doing wrong.
Would really be thankful for some help - and sorry if it something very simple.
Kind regards,
EmmaClose your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes, and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

How to bypass the parameter prompting screen?
Hello,
We are passing parameters from java code using the ParameterFieldController.setCurrentValue method.
However, even though all parameters required by a given report are informed, when we try to generate a report, a prompt screen is systematically displayed. (prompting.swf)
This screen prompts for required parameters, event though values are already set and indeed appear on the prompt fields (they are set through the ParameterFieldController).
We would like to skip this screen, considering that parameters are actually already filled, so that users don't get confused by parameters that are internal to the application, and so that they don't see this intermediate screen.
Is there a way to do this? Some configuration somewhere?
I haven't been able to find information about this...
Thanks a lot for any tip!!
PS: we are using the latest CRJ from August 16th
Matt
Edited by: matt44 on Aug 26, 2009 5:51 PMThanks Valentine,
Although it didn't directly solve the problem, your answer helped me refine my diagnostic.
In the end, the problem was really that the parameters were actually not available in the viewer (even though they had been set on the report document through ParameterFieldController.setCurrentValue).
This is because we were replacing the database connection for the reports after setting the parameters: parameters are actually removed from the report document when the connection is replaced!
To solve the problem, we have to first replace the database connection for the report, then set the parameters.
Best regards,
Matt -

Selecting a value from the drop-down and submitting the form gives the following error.</p><p> [java] 17:46:20,265 INFO [STDOUT] 17:46:20,265 ERROR [com.businessobjects.reports.sdk.JRCCommunicationAdapter] JRCAgent11 detected an exception: The value for parameter `Period` must match one of the specified default values.<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.reports.dataengine.d.case(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.reports.dataengine.d.at(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.reports.dataengine.d.new(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.reports.common.as.a(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.reports.common.ae.a(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.businessobjects.reports.sdk.b.k.a(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.businessobjects.reports.sdk.b.s.do(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.businessobjects.reports.sdk.JRCCommunicationAdapter.request(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.businessobjects.reports.sdk.JRCCommunicationAdapter.request(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.proxy.remoteagent.x.a(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.proxy.remoteagent.q.a(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.proxy.remoteagent.q.else(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.proxy.remoteagent.q.for(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.proxy.remoteagent.q.do(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.proxy.remoteagent.q.if(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.proxy.remoteagent.u.performDo(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.proxy.remoteagent.u.a(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.DataDefController.a(Unknown Sour<br />ce)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.ParameterFieldController.modify(<br />Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.ParameterFieldController.modify(<br />Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.ParameterFieldController.setCurr<br />entValues(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.ReportSource.a(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.ReportSource.a(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.ReportSource.getPromptParameterF<br />ields(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.AdvancedReportSource.getPromptPa<br />rameterFields(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.NonDCPAdvancedReportSource.getPr<br />omptParameterFields(Unknown Source)<br /> [java] at com.crystaldecisions.reports.reportengineinterface.JPEReportSource.getPromptParam<br />eterFields(Unknown Source)</p><p> When in the report I set allowcustomvalues to true then it accepts the value selected from the dropdown. But in this case the prompt screen shows a textbox next to the drop-down that gets populated on selecting any option from the dropdown. This textbox is editable and can accept any value. Is there a way I can get rid of this textbox. Also i would like to know why the drop-dwon by itself is incapable of passing the value.</p><p> 2. Secondly, Is there anyway I can change the UI for the crystalreportviewer prompt screen being displayed for accepting the parameters from the user. As per my clients requirement the messages displayed in the prompt screen should be customised.</p><p>3. The third issue is with the date parameter. When a date is selected using the calender control the textbox gets populated in the following format Date(yyyy,mm,dd). My requirement is that this should be a userfriendly format like mm-dd-yyyy. I have succesfully modified the crystalreportviewer javascript so that the calender returns the date in the required format i.e. mm-dd-yyyy. But in this case the date parameter is not accepted though no error is displayed on the console. I have tried rechanging the format into Date(yyyy,mm,dd) before the prompt form is submitted but even this didnot help. What can I do to overcome this problem? </p><p>Any help with respect to the above problems will be highly appreciated.</p><p>Thanks & Regards</p>
<p>From the looks of it, the default parameter prompt screen isn't really fitting your requirements. You have a number of requests for modification.</p><p>In your case I think the best thing to do would be to create your own parameter prompt screen. You can use the SDK to create a page that works for all reports by inspecting the reports parameters before you set the values.</p><p>This would allow you the flexibility of easily meeting your customers requirements.</p><p>Point 1 - I'm not sure.</p><p>Point 2 - There isn't much access to change the prompt screen.</p><p>Point 3 - I'm not sure why you would want to change the formatting of the Date when you are already using a calendar object to get it. It sounds like you might have a small mistake in the way you edited the javascript.</p><p>I really think you are probably better off creating your own prompt screen. <br /></p><p>Rob Horne<br /><a href="/blog/10">Rob's blog - http://diamond.businessobjects.com/blog/10</a></p>
