User Profiles editiable parts

I'm making user profiles in dreamweaver cs5 and I want to know how to add editible boxes so users can tell who they are, what's their favoirte thing to do, hobbies, etc.etc. I'm having a very hard time trying to do this and I'm sorry if it sounds simple or something. Maybe I'm just foolish. Thank you for your support and answers.

  • Huge ntuser.dat.LOG1 since upgrade to Windows 8.1 prohibits roaming of user profile

    Hello,
a few days ago my PC (part of our domain) first started to have problems with my user profile. Our domain uses roaming profiles with a size limit of 30MB. My user.dat has a size of 12.5MB. Up to now this did not cause any problems (and does not cause any for
most users of our domain having a user.dat of similar size). However, after upgrading to Windows 8.1 I repeadly have problems with my profile exceeding its maximum size. After checking my profile, I found a ntuser.dat.LOG1 with 12,5MB in size and a ntuser.dat.LOG2
of 2MB. As far as I know these files are used to store temporary transactions for the user.dat. But why are they this large? Together they almost completely fill the profile. As an interesting side node the last modification of ntuser.dat.LOG1 dates back more
    then seven days.
What is further puzzling me: ntuser.dat.LOG1 and ntuser.dat.LOG2 are not synchronized with the roaming profile on the server. At least they are not on the server. However there used to be much smaller versions of these files which could have been transfered
before the profile size exceeded its limit. Since these file seem not to be part of the roaming part of the profile, they should not count for the roaming profile size. However, they definitely do. Neglecting the registry files the largest file in my profile
is less than 500kb and there are very few files of this size. I checked locally as well as on our server.
Deleting the local profile and starting fresh using the roaming profile from our server does work for a day or two but then I run into the same problem. Especially, loosing all local profile data is inconvenient. I could start a new with a completely new
profile, but I am not convinced that it is a profile issue. In our organisation my computer is one of the first to move to Windows 8.1. Since my profile worked without problems for years now, I am worried that I ran into a Windows 8.1 issue. As users normally
start to complain about a roaming profile not synchronizing only after their local copy broke, I'd like to make sure that this is a isolated issue.
Anyone else experiencing similar issues? Any hint on how to solve the problem?
    Regards,
    Oliver

No, I did not find a solution. However, we moved away from roaming profiles and rely on folder redirection only. That works for us. Since we can redirect the most important folders there is no more need for roaming profiles (at least in our case).

  • Unable to start User Profile Sync Service

    Hi,
I am currently facing some issues with starting the User Profile Sync Service on my SP2013 farm.. I was wondering if someone could help me out a bit.
I have successfully installed the SP2013 farm on a environment that has access to our AD etc. and I have also
restored the database from SP2007 and converted it to Claims authentication etc. The one thing I can’t get to work is to enable the User Profile Sync Service on the server. I have checked quite a bit of TechNet blogs and other sites and tried almost everything
suggested but it still fails. I’ve also recreated the farm from scratch yesterday again but no luck still
    L.
The below is what I have done:
Farm Admin account – spadmin2013 is local admin on all SP Farm servers (2 WFE and 2 APP Servers) and has log on locally rights as well on security policy. On the SQL DB it has dbo permissions on the Sync, Profile and Social DB’s.
Farm Service account – spservice-s is a managed farm account that is used to run the various services of the farm (used during the config wizard part).
From within the Admin Control Panel I have verified the managed accounts and it is indeed spadmin2013 which owns the User Profile Sync Service (not the application itself). When I try to start the service it tries to do that for 5-10 minutes and then fails
and goes back to stop and I do not see any error. I have created a custom service application with new database that runs on spadmin2013/spfarm/ldap accounts etc. I can see from the Windows services – FIM and FIMSync service try to start using the spadmin2013
and then go back to disabled. I have also tried giving the spadmin2013 rights to replicate the AD as few blogs suggested that. I am not sure where this is going wrong or what is missing. I had successfully got this to work and still can get it to work on my
first SP2013 server which is a standalone – running SQL, SP app and WFE on the same box.
In fact I also tried to activate this service first before I joined my 3 other servers to the farm and had no luck. I am kinda lost here as to what is going on!

Right. i ran a new log as suggested. I have also cleared the config cache and created a Powershell profile as suggested in this link - http://blogs.msdn.com/b/bryanbolling/archive/2014/01/02/unable-to-start-user-profile-synchronization-service.aspx

  • Cross Farm: User Profile Custom Properties do not show up in the consumer farm web applications

I have a two SharePoint 2010 farms, one is the publishing farm and user profile service is running on this farm. I have defined a couple of new custom properties, and after a while these custom properties do not show up at the consumer farm end.
So, on the publishing farm, I can udpate the user profiles with values in these custom properties. However, neither the custom properties nor the values got synchronized to the consumer farm. What puzzled me further is that some of the existing custom properties
exist on the consumer farm, but not the new custom properties I recently added.
    1. I have made sure the application pool accounts on both the farms being added to the administrators with full control permission in UPS on the publishing farm.
    2. The User Profile Service proxy (connected to the publishing farm UPS application)  is associated with all the web applications on the consumer farm.
    3. When values in the user profiles on the publishing farm changed, these changes do not get replicated to the consuming farm user profiles. This symptom occurs on both custom and OOB user profile properties.
However, I cannot find any other related information on the web, nor from the ULS logs.

    Hi,
As I understand, it did not display the new custom properties you defined in the publishing farm at the consumer farm end.
    1. Check if the topology Discovery Service Application runs well in consuming farm. In the Central Administration, it is the Application Discovery and load Balancer Service Application, check if it starts.
In the IIS, it is the topology, check if it starts.
    2. Check the permissions have been established if you have established consumer farm permissions on Provider Farm before you publish the service application.
        1. Go to Central Administration and going to “Manage Service Applications”.
        2. Click on “Application Discovery and Load Balancer Service Application” and click “Permissions” from the ribbon.
Your farm GUID should be listed with full permissions.

  • User profile images not persisting after log off on Server 2012 R2 RDS Session Hosts

    Hi,
We have a 2012 R2 remote desktop deployment, with two session collections, a gateway server, and connection broker.
We have set these session collections to use centralised user profile disks.
What I am having an issue with, is that when a user sets their profile image through the server they have logged on to (I have the desktop experience pack installed so they are able to do this), they can see the user tile has been set with that image in
settings and also on the start menu, but as soon as they log off the server and back on, their profile image has been reset to the default blank image.
I have checked all of my group policy options, and cannot find any settings that could be impacting this.
Does anyone have any ideas why these images are not persisting for users or admins?
    Thanks, Eds

Please check that the user is not getting a temporary profile each time he logs in. Also, make sure that the RDP client is properly configured to display the Wallpaper: http://www.webapper.com/blog/index.php/2007/10/18/enabling-desktop-wallpaper-on-remote-desktop-terminal-services/

  • W7: User Profile Service service failed at log on: Apparently W7 is no longer creating any user profile data other than username and picture.

First time poster, but I think I've done my homework on this issue.
This issue has similar symptoms to a problem with vista: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/130095-user-profile-service-failed-logon-user-profile-cannot-loaded.html
However, it is definitely not the same issue (see further).
    Current Config:
    HP dv7-1450.
    W7 RC 7100 x64
Last update (up to date as of 8/31/09) installed succesfully 8/26/09 and should be unrelated to this issue (not verified yet by a pre-update restore).
Running with Admin account while diagnosing/troubleshooting.
Currently have two working accounts, one standard, one admin.
    Symptom:
New user accounts cannot be logged into.  On an attempted login to the new account, the following information is displayed on the login screen:  "The User Profile Service service failed the logon.  User profile cannot be loaded."  Windows then logs off the operator and returns to the initial user selection screen.  All other aspects of use are normal.
    Current Diagnostics:
First attempts to resolve this problem were to recreate the new account.  This was attempted when logged in as both Standard and Admin.  This was also attempted under safe mode.  This has been attempted with virus protection disabled.  All to no difference in the symptom.
The similarity to the Vista issue (linked above) caused me to check the registry entry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\ for the new profile (as suggested by that link).  Unlike that issue, there simply is no entry for the new user.  Examination of the new log entries from creation of account to attempted log in provides the following entries:
Level Date and Time Source Event ID Task Category

This error may be caused by network problems or insufficient security rights.
    DETAIL - Access is denied.
Naturally I started with the earliest error first, and decided to look to see what is going on.  The file that is trying to be copied is there, but the destination folder does not exist.  As near as I can tell, whatever process (the User Profiles General Service?) is trying to perform the copy does not have sufficient access to perform the operation.  Specifically I suspect it may not be able to create the appropriate folders before performing the copy.  Interestingly, it appears that when windows attempts to open/create a temporary account profile, the same issue occurs.  Since there is no registry entry either, I suspect that the issue also extends to the creation of registry keys, but I am not familiar enough with the sequence of events in the creation of a user profile to determine if this would come before or after a user profile's first login.
I attempted to find more information, and was able to investigate the UPS diagnostic event log (for a different, but identical attempt at creating and using the new profile).  The following two (unhelpful to me) log entries were generated.
Level Date and Time Source Event ID Task Category
Information 8/31/2009 12:34:10 PM Microsoft-Windows-User Profiles Service 1002 (1001) "The description for Event ID 1002 from source Microsoft-Windows-User Profiles Service cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
The message id for the desired message could not be found
Information 8/31/2009 12:34:09 PM Microsoft-Windows-User Profiles Service 1001 (1001) "The description for Event ID 1001 from source Microsoft-Windows-User Profiles Service cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
It seems to imply that the User Profiles Service may be corrupted, but this may also be unrelated.  I do not know how to specifically repair this service anyway (but am open to try it if someone can walk me through it a bit).
There's the info.  I'd like to figure out how to watch the account creation process in more detail to see if I gleen more, but I don't have the experience to know what to do to enable such a log.  I will not perform a reinstall and am loath to do a restore, instead looking more for a cause and effect repair: something that would actually help MS fix the problem rather than have the customer fix the symptom.
    Thanks in advance to responders!

  • The report has user profile dependencies when enabling caching.

    Hi,
Using SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 R2.
I am getting the error in the subject trying to cache a report, I see that this is described here
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlreportingservices/thread/e2ce8dd0-17db-47de-b13e-3574cc9d536f
But, how does this solve my problem?  I still want to use the user as a parameter filter so surely returning a default user as part of the error handling will just give every user the data for that hardcoded user when the report is run?
    Sorry for my confusion
    Many thanks

    Hi ReportCreator,
When we use the User!UserID to filter the data at runtime, the system tries to evaluate the User during Cache Load. At cache time report processing does not have access to the user profile information. Any expression like User!... will cause “has user profile
    dependencies” error.
Just as Jerry said, we can write custom code to call the User!UserID in your report to get rid of the UserID during the Caching Operation. Please note that we should use a valid filter instead of "System" like shown in the code to the filter the user.
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • How fill r/3 transaction field with current property value of user profile?

    Hi Experts!! I
have a transaction iview ("sap_transaction_iview") currently pointing to a R/3 transaction. I want to use the "application parameters" iview field to pass a variable value to the R/3 transaction. We need to pass R/3 userID that we store in property department of portal user profile. Thus, we need to pass dinamically a value as part of name/value pair in application parameter.
    How can do achive that?
Thanks in advance to all for your advices and help.
    Best Regards,
    Rosa Ferrando

    Hi,
I think this blog should help you do it. Create a java class or portal project. You can create iView from par then.
How to launch SAP transaction & pass parameters via URL
Here in the same component, you can try getting the user profile attribute and pass it on to this url.
Here is another link about the same topic.

Yes - this was the first set of information the OP dumped from his system. About line 5 of the post.
But I do wonder whether the 9.2.0.6 (not latest patch) makes a difference? Or perhaps the connect time is being used as part of a composite limit.

  • UPRE to replicate User Profiles and Managed Metadata to High Availability backup farm

I'm working on a HA project, and have been tasked with replicating our User Profiles and Metadata to a newly created farm. I'll call the current production farm FarmA and the new HA farm FarmB. I've installed SharePoint2010AdministrationToolkit on FarmB,
and used SPDiag to generate my first report on FarmB.
    We're not using MySites.
    I'm looking at
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj891109(v=office.15).aspx and have some questions. Anything I do on FarmA will be done thought a Change Control, and I want to be able to answer questions intelligently.
Does SharePoint2010AdministrationToolkit and UPRE have to be installed on FarmA and FarmB?
Does enabling DTC create any security concern? Or performance hit? I haven't done this before.
Any documented risks with using the replicator?
Are scheduled replications typically 1 weekly full with nightly incrementals?
Anything the replication won't copy over to FarmB? Like Synchronization Connections, or additional/custom fields?
    How are GUIDs handled?
Sorry to pack 6 questions into one post ;)
    Thanks,
    Scott

To answer the first question this is what MS says: The User Profile Replication Engine can be installed on any computer that has access to the source User Profile service application and destination User Profile service application. However, we recommend
that you install the User Profile Replication Engine on a computer that is part of the source farm or on a computer that is connected to the subnet of the source domain. The User Profile Replication Engine uses the SharePoint Server 2010 User Profile and User
Profile Change Log to read and write data between user profile stores. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc663011(v=office.15).aspx And to answer 4th question its true but full sync will only be required initially and only when there is org changes
most of the time its incremental. To my knowledge FULL replication will bring all the details but not sure though.

  • User Profile Service and Sync Service

I will be using Active Directory security groups to manage my SharePoint 2013 internal and external users. These groups will be put into SharePoint Groups. Is User Profile sync required to insure group members stay in sync between our 2 ADs and the SharePoint
resources or is AD checked whenever a user accesses a resource?
    Love them all...regardless. - Buddha

The groups that users are a member of will be included in the user's token during authentication.  But SharePoint does use the User profile sync to identify AD groups that are used by the users.  So User Profile Sync is a necessary part of the
    whole process.

  • Adobe flash updater appears to lock user profile files in Windows 7

    Hello All,
I don't own any Adobe products, but I wanted to put this up so that others who run into this issue can find it, and hopefully Adobe will look into it if it's common.
This evening, I had just restarted my computer (Windows 7 RC), and after an usually long load time, I found myself loading into a profile other than my own.  Windows informed me that it has been unable to access my user profile and so had booted me into a temporary profile.  I noticed that the reason for being unable to access the profile was that it was being accessed (locked) by another program.  I rebooted.
This time when I logged in, I was taken to my own profile, but before it loaded, I received a message from windows stating that it has been unable to open the user profile, and at the same time I saw a prompt from the Adobe Updater asking me if I wanted to upgrade to the next version of Adobe Flash.  After closing the dialogs, my profile contained everything for my desktop, but my windows settings appeared to have all been disabled (meaning Windows Aero was turned off and everything looked...odd--like an older version of windows squeezed into the updated Windows 7 interface).
Taking a guess that the prompt from the Adobe updater may have been responsible for locking the profile while it was awaiting a response (somehow I guess it was running BEFORE windows loaded the user profile), I uninstalled all my adobe products and rebooted.
Issue solved. Presumably, installing the update when you first see the prompt and not waiting for another time after a reboot would also bypass this issue.
So it appears that the Update prompt locks the Windows user profile in Windows 7, which causes a problem because (maybe only on machines that don't auto login?) it appears to run before the profile loads: so it has a user profile file locked waiting for a response from the user, which can't come because the profile hasn't been loaded by Windows (so the user can't see the prompt), but Windows can't load the profile because the file is locked...sort of a soft dead lock (since I was sort of able to get in eventually).
Wanted to get this out, and was also wondering if anyone else has seen this issue.
    Cheers,
    -jfc

  • User Profile Service Not Syncing Membership Groups

We have noticed that since moving to SharePoint 2013 user memberships and followed sites on users mysites are not updating to remove sites that no longer exist or add new sites into the list.  I tried the steps that used to fix this under 2010 outlined
here: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2703630 but they do not seem to resolve the issue anymore.  Has anyone had this happen to them in 2013 and figured out the steps to resolve it?  To me it looks like the UserProfileService is not able to find
or refresh memberships into the user profile databases.  Normally this is a permissions issue but the farm account and the account running the user profile service both have full control to the content databases.

    Hi Matthew,
Per my knowledge, the Memberships web part is not fully supported in SharePoint 2013, and the memberships in SharePoint sites cannot be updated.
The links below is for Office 365, however it’s true for SharePoint 2013:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2858263

As a workaround, you can use the new feature Following to follow the sites in SharePoint 2013:

There is a "Lightroom 6" upgrade available for US $79 if you have a valid license for any of the earlier versions. From what I can tell, the only difference between Lightroom 6 Full, Lightroom 6 Upgrade and LightroomCC is in the license. The download file is the same.
Other differences - with CC you get LrMobile/LrWeb and they throw in a free copy of Photoshop too.
Yes, but when I bought my standalone license and clicked on the "Download" button it took me to the LightroomCC page. The downloaded file is named Lightroom 6, but in the CC app the installed program is LightroomCC (2015).

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to rate a list item using JQuery in SharePoint 2010.
The link you had posted above is for SharePoint 2007.
You can refer to the following articles which about using the JQuery to call the rating service.

You can also use the tool of the CodePlex to achieve it.
