Using default_where - master-detail

Hello.
I have two data block in my form - two tab pages.
Those two tables are like master-detail, but i have not set it.
I would like to see on the second tab page all the details from master plus all the other records. First from master then the others.
Is this possible? Maybe with default_where?
Thanks.

Hi,
why don't you set m/d relationships between the blocks? You can set the execution to deferred if you want to avoid the query to be exdcuted before navigating to the tab.
If you need to show master information on the master tab and the detail tab, have a look at Forms mirror items

  • Using Spry Master Details And Flash Videos

    I orginally posted this in the Dreamweaver forum but found
    this one and figured it was a more appropriate place.
    Hi, I am using the Spry Master Detail set to Dynamically load
    a flash player into a detail area. Works great in Firefox but
    doesn't load the player in IE.
    http://www.3screensart.com/default5.cfm
    I have tried various methods
    http://www.3screensart.com/default6.cfm
    but still isn't working as intended.
    I could go back to iFrames but really don't want to do that
    either.

    Did you ever get this to work? I am trying to do something
    similar with no success. I tried swfobject and other ways of
    getting the parameters through Spry to Flash to no avail. Something
    in Spry is mangling my embed on the way to IE whenever it's
    included in a Spry region.
    I am reluctantly being forced to find something other than
    Spry due to IE.

  • Problem occured when create a tree table for master-detail view objects using SQL queries?

    When I set default value for variable bindings of these 2 view objects and the matching records exist, tree table can work well. I can expand the master row to display detail row in UI.
    But I need to pass in dymamic parameter value for variable bindings of these 2 view objects, tree table cannnot work again. when I expand the master row and no detail row are displayed in UI.
    I am sure that I pass in correct parameter value for master/detail view objects and matching records exist.

    5.  What's wrong in my implementation?  I don't have no problem to implement such a tree table if using simple master-detail tables view object, but now I have to use such 2 view objects using complex SQL for my requirement and variable bindings are necessary for detail view object although I also think a bit strange by myself.

    Hi Frank,
    Thank you and it can work.
    public void setLowHighSalaryRangeForDetailEmployeesAccessorViewObject(Number lowSalary,
                                                                              Number highSalary) {
            Row r = getCurrentRow();
            if (r != null) {
                RowSet rs = (RowSet)r.getAttribute("EmpView");
                if (rs != null) {
                    ViewObject accessorVO = rs.getViewObject();
                    accessorVO.setNamedWhereClauseParam("LowSalary", lowSalary);
                    accessorVO.setNamedWhereClauseParam("HighSalary", highSalary);
                executeQuery();
    but I have a quesiton in this way. in code snippet, it is first getting current row of current master VO to determine if update variables value of detail VO. in my case, current row is possibly null after executeQuery() of master VO and  I have to change current row manually like below.
    any idea?
                DCIteratorBinding dc = (DCIteratorBinding)ADFUtil.evaluateEL("#{bindings.SSForecastSourceBlockView1Iterator}");
                ViewObject vo = dc.getViewObject();
                vo.ensureVariableManager().setVariableValue("DateFrom", dateFrom);
                vo.ensureVariableManager().setVariableValue("DateTo", dateTo);
                vo.ensureVariableManager().setVariableValue("ShiftModeCode", shiftModeC);
                vo.ensureVariableManager().setVariableValue("TerminalCode", terminalCode);
                vo.executeQuery();
                vo.setCurrentRowAtRangeIndex(0);
                ((SSForecastSourceBlockViewImpl)vo).synchornizeAccessorVOVariableValues();

  • Use master-detail as both insert-edit mode

    Guys,
    I am again in need for your expert suggestions....(I am using Jdev 11.1.1.3 and really new to adf world)
    I need to implement a scenario where user will click the menu item and system should open a detail page in insert mode.
    I have a page fragment for headers.... which has menu bars.... and one the of item in the menu bar is "Create new Record"
    My application has master-detail page (master with multiple details). I would like (don't have to) to use the same master-detail for Insert and Edit
    More detail scenario: 1. User will click "Create new Record" menu item
    2. Load the master-detail page in insert mode
    3. when they save the record, page should turn to edit mode...
    any help is greatly appreciated......

  • OBIEE 11g:  Inconsistencies with Master-Detail events and Navigate to BI

    Hi everyone,
    I'm getting some pretty annoying inconsistencies with the Navigate to BI Content action as well as the Master-Detail events. Basically the main issue I get is that 90% of the time, the click does nothing.
    It's a pretty simple setup, I am setting up bulb gauges to act like a fancy column selector. The bulb gauges are setup to pivot based on a Metric Type column. The goal is that if you click on "Metric 1" bulb a trend report should refresh to show Metric 1. If you click on the "Metric 2" bulb, the same trend report will show that metric.
    Here's how I implemented it:
    Dashboard Tab A -- Uses Navigate to BI Content
    1) I have a prompt on Fiscal month in dashboard tab A.
    2) I created the bulb gauge and put it in dashboard tab A
    3) Setup the interaction on the bulb measure to navigate back to Dashboard Tab A.
    3) Prompted the trend on Metric Type column and put it in dashboard tab A.
    4) In theory, clicking on the bulb, should navigate back to the same tab and update the trend report appropriately
    5) In reality, nothing happens.
    6) The only way I can get the navigate to work is if I first change the value in the fiscal month prompt and click Go. Then I click on the bulb and the navigation will work ONCE. After that it's broken again.
    Dashboard Tab B -- Use Master Detail -Events
    1) Pretty much same situation as dashboard A, but instead of navigate to BI Content, I use the master-detail events.
    2) Pretty much the same results. I cannot get it to consistently work, in fact the trick with the filter didn't do anything.
    3) One thing I tried was cleared my browser history completely (Mozilla Firefox) and then launched the page. It work for about 5 clicks and then stopped.
    Either way, neither of these are working properly for me.
    Has anyone else had these issues?
    -=Joe
    Has anyone else had an issue with this?

    So someone explained to me that master-detail events only occur within a single report. They cannot be used to communicate across two different reports.
    That is significantly less useful than I originally thought. I honestly that it was a method of communication for one report to update other target reports that are all listening on the same channel. That would have been a powerful feature. A single report refreshing other views in the same report is still useful, but not as much.
    That being said, I still don't understand what the heck is going on with the navigate to BI content feature. I've been testing it out. It works with pivot tables and regular tables. But the moment I add a graph, gauge or even a "Filter" view into the dashboard page, the click stops working. Really really strange stuff.

  • Delete on master detail does not work

    I am trying to delete the master record from master table using the master-detail form. I am getting this error
    An unexpected error occurred: ORA-02292: integrity constraint ('table_name') violated - child record found
    ORA-02063: preceding line from 'Schema name' (WWV-16016).
    I checked the 'Cascade delete detail rows on master detail' check box - Logically I would expect it to delete the detail and master record. Does this work? Is there anything that needs to be set in addition to this?
    Thanks,

  • Master-detail list - how to spread over multiple columns

    I am using the master-detail functionality to create a image viewer.
    I have a long list of master thumbnails, and rather than having them go down the page in one column, I would like to make them spread over 2 or 3 columns before the detail column.
    (example of format I am trying to achieve - http://www.franbainbridgephotography.com.au/gallery.html (I dont mind whether master thumbnails are on right or left of detail photo))
    You can see my problem on http://www.wcwra.com/webpages/images.php
    Is this possible with the master-detail functionality?
    Thank you!

    The brilliant David Powers has fixed this for me on the main forum (vw2ureg was v close).  David's answer is :
    There is no way of making a single dataset repeat in multiple columns, because it's simply one element being repeated over and over.
    However, with a little out of the box thinking, you can do it quite easily with thumbnails. Instead of putting the master column repeat region in a block level element, use an inline element, <span>. Images are treated by browsers as inline elements, so this should work just fine. Change the following code from this:
    <div spry:region="dsPhotos" class="MasterContainer">
        <div class="MasterColumn" spry:repeat="dsPhotos" spry:setrow="dsPhotos"
        spry:hover="MasterColumnHover" spry:select="MasterColumnSelected">{Caption}</div>
    </div>
    to this:
    <div spry:region="dsPhotos" class="MasterContainer">
        <span class="MasterColumn" spry:repeat="dsPhotos" spry:setrow="dsPhotos"
        spry:hover="MasterColumnHover" spry:select="MasterColumnSelected">{Caption}</span>
    </div>
    In your CSS, set the width of the MasterColumn class to the width of your thumbnails, and the width of MasterContainer so that it's wide enough to accommodate two or more thumbnails. The thumbnails will flow into the column two or three abreast.

  • How can I upload multiple files in a master detail relationship?

    I would like to be able to upload several files for one record (a one to many relationship). I tried using a master detail form, but the tabular form does not support file browse. I've searched the forum and found several examples asking how to upload multiple files at once. That is not what I'm trying to do. I simply want the user to browse, select a file, provide a file name and description. Then select the next file. When they are done selecting files (it may be one file or many files) I want them to hit the submit button and I'll run a procedure that saves the files to the database.
    How can I do this? Thanks, you guys are the best. Elizabeth

    Elizabeth,
    I had this situation come up once and here's what I did, thought it may not be exactly what you're looking for.
    I created a collection to store the ID's of the files that had been uploaded, along with the key and other information. The file browse input will upload your files into the wwv_flow_files table on submit. I was storing the documents in another application table.
    The after submit process grabs the id from wwv_flow_files where the name is = to your file input.
    After you add that ID and your associated master key in the collection, your final submit process fetches the files from wwv_flow_files and inserts them into your own table.
    I can put an example on apex.oracle.com if that would be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

  • Strange behaviour master-detail form

    Hi,
    So after much fiddling around I got my Master-Detail (MD) form working. Currently both the master and detail panels are visible at the same time one above the other. This works alright. When I enter new data in Master and press "commit" button, the data in master pane stays visible. When I press "add new row" in Detail panel, the value of PK is displayed in FK of Detail pane. All very well.
    What I want to do now is to put master and detail in JtabbedPane format. Now this causes a problem, when I press "commit" in Master pane, the data in master pane just vanishes and when I press "add new row" in Detail panel, the value in PK of Master doesn't appear in FK of Detail panel.
    Why so?
    I have done the following steps
    1. Create a new JClient Form. Actually I don't need a form but master-detail can not be created in JClient Panel.
    2. Modified the master pane code by adding
    public PanelExperimentViewMD1() //made public by Mahendra
    //Added by Mahendra
    JUMetaObjectManager.setBaseErrorHandler(new JUErrorHandlerDialog());
    JUApplication app = JUMetaObjectManager.createApplicationObject("MAGEMLexport.ExperimentModule", null, new JUEnvInfoProvider());
    panelBinding.setApplication(app);
    panelBinding.executeIfNeeded();
    try{
    jbInit();
    catch (Exception ex)
    ex.printStackTrace();
    3. Modify Detail panel code by adding the same line as above.
    4. Created a JTabbedPane and added the above two panes to it using addTab method.
    That's all. What I did do or didn't do to make this work just like the JClient Form I created earlier in which both panels are together?
    Regards,
    Mahendra
    PS- If there is any other effective way of separating M-D panels, please let me know.

    Hi,
    All of you must be wondering why I want to disable navigation buttons.
    Here is the full problem, may be there is a better solution.
    I have a Person entity and a Description entity with 1..1 cardinality. Now Description can not exist without a Person but a Person can without a Description. So I used a Master-Detail view-link. However, I want to prevent user from entering more than one description into the Detail panel. To achieve this, I removed +, - buttons and navigation buttons in master and detail panel. The master panel opens in INSERT mode so I don't need +,- buttons in master panel and hence I don't need navifation buton either.
    Hope this helps in defining my problem.

  • Master-detail form in HTML DB

    Is there any way to create a master form with multiple detail tabs on the same page? This can be easily done in Oracle Forms by creating a master block and several child blocks on the same form.
    Thanks.

    Andy,
    The master-detail wizard generates only one detail tabular form or report. When using the master-detail wizard, you’re asked whether you want to edit the detail records on the same page as the master record using a tabular form, or if you want to display the detail records as a report with links to a form page that lets you edit the detail records individually. If you want to have more than one detail report on your page, you can easily do that by adding additional reports manually. However those reports can’t be tabular forms, because you can only have one tabular form per page. So those detail reports need to link to form pages, where you then can edit your detail records.
    Regards,
    Marc

  • FLV Master Detail Gallery

    I'd like to use a master/detail region scenario with FLV's.
    Right now I've been using iframes and its sketchy at best. I want
    the user to click thumbnails which load an FLV video and text from
    an XML file.
    Here's what I've come up with this far:
    http://s254856054.onlinehome.us/tv/
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    just load link to the video and use the appropriate tag for
    it, example XML
    <xml>
    <movie>
    <title>movie 1</title>
    <description>test movie</description>
    <thumbnail>images/movie1.gif</thumbnail>
    <video>video/video1.flv</video>
    </movie>
    </xml>
    the use spry region or repeat region for displaying video...
    how to display it? follow adobe product demo on spry folder, it
    similarly when you want to display image you would use
    <img src="$thumbnail" alt="$title" />
    do it with the flv and use the appropriate tag for it (i
    never use flv so i dunno which tag should used)
    if you want it only play when user click the thumb then set
    event for onclick in the image the call a function that can do
    loadUrl(); for that, example:
    <script>
    loadFlv(Url){
    document.getElementById("flv_viewer").href = Url;
    </script>
    where
    flv_viewer is the correct id for tag that will display flv
    object

  • Master Detail Relation

    Can I design Master detail using one block for master and display like 5 records and each of this has 10 detail records. I am not sure if I can achieve this.
    Other scenario is have one master block(5 records) and have 5 detail blocks. Please give any information related

    Husna,
    1. To only show 5 reords in teh master block, just set the display record property to 5 (records displayed). Selecting one of teh master records queries the detail records (as many as there are available)
    2. Master/Detail navigation works only for the current selected master record. i get th eimpression that you want to show all detail records that belong to the five master records currently visible. If this is the case then I would'nt use a master-detail relation in Forms, but read the PK from the block record and set it as the where clause to one of the detail blocks.

  • How to clear a master detail form in adf

    hi
    I am using j developer 11 g (ADF). I have a master detail page. i want to clear all data when the form loading first time
    I used an lov for searcching the data. here am called createInsert method for clearing the data from form on
    pageload, but am going for searching the data for the first time the searched data are inserted in to database
    as a new record . How i rectify this problem. Ultimate my aim is to clear the date when the page is loading first time
    I also try with the following code also
    String amDef = "model.masters.MastersAM";
    String config = "MastersAMLocal";
    ApplicationModule am = null;
    am = Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(amDef, config);
    ViewObject vo = am.findViewObject("TestCaseNewVO");
    // vo.setWhereClause("Id=0");
    //vo.executeQuery();
    vo.clearCache();
    Regards

    Hi Chan Kelwin
    I tried with ur code. But in the form loading first time the form controls are not cleared
    i write the code in my page load. I take the query from view object runtime. it also
    working fine but that is not reflected on the form. i used to drag and drop the detail view
    and used to master-detail option for binding in the form. But still i have the same problem
    i used the following code
    @PostConstruct
    protected void OnLoad() {
    if (!isPostback()) {
    // CreateNewRecord();
    FacesContext fctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ValueBinding vb =
    fctx.getApplication().createValueBinding("#{bindings.TestCaseNewVOIterator}");
    DCIteratorBinding userView = (DCIteratorBinding)vb.getValue(fctx);
    String amDef = "model.masters.MastersAM";
    String config = "MastersAMLocal";
    ApplicationModule am = null;
    am = Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(amDef, config);
    ViewObject vo = am.findViewObject("TestCaseNewVO");
    ViewCriteria vc = vo.createViewCriteria();
    ViewCriteriaRow vcr = vc.createViewCriteriaRow();
    vcr.setAttribute("Tid", "IS NULL");
    vc.add(vcr);
    vo.applyViewCriteria(vc);
    System.out.println(vo.getQuery());
    vo.executeQuery();
    }

    You have master - detail relationship here. So unless you click on second employee it won't show you salary for second employee.
    You can create a control block and capture values in this block through cursor. You can also create a view and get values from view. In both cases you need only one block not two.
    Are you showing this only for display or user can also modify these values?
