Using MySQL data source in OWB

I need to use a MySQL data source in OWB. Could you please tell me the steps needed to define and configure the MySQL module in OWB?

I am trying to import tables from MySQL into Powerpivot using the data source connection, if use the import using the Query option its working fine but not with the select list of table option.
when i click on the select list of tables option, i get the below error after selecting all the tables to be imported:
OLE DB or ODBC error.

JPA with MySQL-Data-Source

I have a question regarding usage of a MySQL-Data-Source in combination with JPA
on the SAP NetWeaver Application Server, Java EE 5 Edition.
I have setup a custom datasource like explained in paper:
"Working with Database Tables, DataSources and JMS Resources"
- registered the database driver via telnet (Using mysql-connector-java-5.0.3-bin.jar)
- created the data-sources.xml file underneath the META-INF dir of the EAR project

After that I created a Controller class containing a main method that looks up the remote
interface of the TravelAgentBena like explained in document "Accessing Enterprise JavaBeans Using JNDI
in SAP NetWeaver Application Server, Java EE 5 Edition" written by Validimir Pavlov of SAP NetWeaver

Unfortunately I receive an Exception after invoking the createCabin(...) method.

My goodness - what a long post - sorry for this - I hope I provided all information

Am I thinking in the right direction to blame attribute [code]<sql-engine>native_sql</sql-engine>[/code]
of file data-sources.xml for the beaviour? Are there any other argument options than native_sql?

Here we strictly implemented the checks according to the requirements of the JPA specification. Technically, we could do with private constructors as well. But the JPA specifications requires the constructor to be protected to allow a JPA implementation to subclass entities if needed.

No, unfortunately, there is no comparable option in SAP JPA (yet). We understand that there is a need for forward mapping. We would have liked to delegate this task to the JPA design time (i.e. Dali). However, we had to discover that Dali does not perform this task properly and we can't recommend using it any more.
Consequently, there is no automatic schema generation in SAP JPA 1.0.

With Hibernate Entity Manager, the id generation strategy in use with GenerationType.AUTO depends on the database dialect. This means that depending on the database dialect, IDENTITY columns, SEQUENCES or generator tables (TableHiLo) are required. As Hibernate has the before mentioned schema generation property this fact can be hidden to the user.
In SAP JPA, we are always using a table generator if GenerationType.AUTO is used. This allows for better portability across databases. It requires the table TMP_SEQUENCE. As we unfortunately do not have a schema generation capability, the user must create this table.

How to create a report using XML data source from Crystal Report Designer

Hi,
Iu2019m having Crystal Report Designer XI R2 SP4. Iu2019m trying to create a report using XML data source stored on disk. This is a customer order report and the xml is structured in such a way that it has an order details header part (master) and then it has several order lines (detail). One order line can have several order line characteristics (detail-detail). So what I need to know is now I can design this layout from the designer. If this was done using views I can do it with sub-reports but using xml data this seems to be different. Can you help me to design this layout? I have included the xml and xsd as well.

Thank you for the response and ideas you have given me so far. I can get the fetch the data from the data source without any problem. That is I do the following,
1.     New Report
2.     From Create New Connection-> XML
3.     Provide the u201CLocal XML Fileu201D and have u201CSpecify Schema Fileu201D checked -> Next
4.     Provide the u201CLocal Schema Fileu201D -> Finish
Then I can see the following under XML

Any examples of a data template using multiple data sources?

I'm looking for an example report using multiple data sources. I've seen one where they do a master/detail but I'm just looking to combine results in sorted order (sorted across all data sources). The master/detail used a bind variable to link the two defined queries, I'm thinking what I want won't have that, so I'm lost on how to make that happen. I have reports using multiple sql queries and there is a way in the data source pulldown to tell it to combine the data sources. It appears to be a more manual process with data templates, if it's even possible.
Any pointers/links would be appreciated.

That's just it. Mine is simpler than that. There is no master/detail relationship between the two queries. I have the same exact query that I run in two databases and I want to merge the results (ordered, by, say eventTime) in one report. So I think my results are going to be two separate groups (one for each data source) which I'll have to let BI merge vis XSLT or whatever it uses. That's fine for small result sets but for larger ones, it would be nice if the database did the sorting/merging.

How to change database schema of data source in OWB?

Could someone give me hint about my questions:
I select many database schema in TOAD. like "My Shema" and "All Schema".
If I create a Oracle Data Source in OWB 10.2. All tables/viewsI can see only from "My Schema" (I think it is default), However, I need to connect "All Scema". There are lots of prod tables/views. I don't know how to set/change/config in OWB even reading guide.

Lan,
You can ONE of the following:
1. Dbl click the src/target module and go to metadata location tab and select a location that has the details pointing to the different schema (If you do not have this location created, you may have to create one).
2. Create synonyms in "My Schema" to objects from other schema. Then try to import the tables again. This time you will be able to see the other tables (the icon will be different for synonyms.)

How to define data-sources-alias.xml to use Oracle data source

I created Oracle jdbc Data Source named "MYDS" in Visual Admin. I added the alias = MYDS_ALIAS. I set the Initial Connection to 2. On the Monitor tab, I see a green line running across the screen. The datasource MYDS is connected to the Oracle.
Now, I would like to define "data-sources-alias.xml" to use MYDS.
When creating data-source-aliases.xml it creates the alias by default on ${com.sap.datasource.default} which is the default DB.
I followed the link --> How to point data-source-aliases.xml to another Datasource
and my data-sources-alias.xml is now:

I follow the instruction in the link below to create an ADF Swing application using datasource. I am using JDeveloper version 10.1.3.

ADF BC has a bug. With Data Source in Application Module, application module does not connect. Use JDBC Connection URL.

Is it possible to use same data source for two info cube

Hi,
My Problem is in BW we can not have value of material at storage location level.In R/3 also value is maintained at plant level.
Then we searched and we found out one hot to doc for summarized display of stock values on storage location level.
Problem is that we have gone live in last December and we are using " 0AFMM_C02 " and it contains around 1,81,26,000 records. and according to note we have to use
"0IC_C03".
Both the cube uses same data sources for the data.So, how to get the data for "0IC_C03".
and how to delete the data of existing info cube.And is it possible to delete data selectively from the info cube.

Hi,
You can't create update rule from PSA.You can create from the infosource or from ODS or from cube to cube or ODS to ODS.
In your scenario, what you can do is create update rules from the ODS to the new cube and then transfer the data from there. Or from the Infosource create rules to the new data target and then upload the full data and then set up the delta.
Third option is to create update rules from the existing cube to the new cube and then load all the data one time. Then you can deactivate the update rules as that was needed only for 1 time data transfer.

I want to load TEXT of a master in Ukraine language. I am extracting this text from the P table of same master (From Description Field). But TEXT is not getting populated whenever it is Ukraine language. English TEXT is populated correctly.

While performing extraction(master data) using generic data sources I am getting a problem.
while selecting application component, I am unable to find SD to select it.What should I do?
I selected CRM as application component and did the extraction , it is successful.
But what about if we want to select SD? I am guessing it as an installation problem ... Anyone plz help me

Looks like the RFC connection between source system and BW system is broken..
Contact your basis team to check the connection what went wrong.

b.) Find your Source System and double click on it.
c.) Technical setting should contain information regarding your source
system
d.) Logon Information should contain source system client and name &
password for you remote logon.
**Suggestion : our remote name for our R/3 was ALEREMOTE. We use
BWREMOTE so that we can monitor without confusion.
e.) Execute your 'Test Connection' & 'Remote Logon'. You connection
should be You should NOT be prompted for a password.
f.) Repeat above to verify RFCs for other systems

Jdeveloper using containers data-sources

Hi,
Could some one please help me. I developed an application in jdeveloper using BC4J. It uses jdevelopers database connections. I deployed it to a remote 9iAS Application server. Now, i want the application to use containers data-sources instead of using jdev's format. I configured data-sources in the container, defined resource reference mapping for this application but still it seems to be not using containers data-sources.
Any one of you have any ideas please?

Failed to Authenticate - Submitting Document using Remote Data Source

This is the error in PTSpy when I try and submit a document in a folder using the Data Source.
This is on a development server, our production server works fine with the settings in the Data Source/Web Service and Remote Server. Where else should I look to resolve this issue?
We have checked all the user permissions for the user named in the Data Source.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am having the same problem when trying to set up or use the "File System" data source. I get the following error:
An error occurred while validating the remote XUI service. Verify the Web Service settings, including the SOAP Encoding Style.
At the bottom of the page, there is another error:
<TD noWraplign=left colSpan=2>User logon failed. <TD noWraplign=left colSpan=2>Verify the user name and password are correct. <TD noWraplign=left colSpan=2>Verify the user has "Log on as a Batch Job" user-right on remote server.
The user does have 'Log on as a Batch Job' priveleges. I have checked everything I can think of, but I am still getting this error. Turned on debug for the service and got the following:
LogonUser failed with Error:[1314] A required privilege is not held by the client.
Can anyone help?

Make sure the user has 'Log on as a Batch Job' rights on the CWS machine. Also, ensure the CWS machine is in the same domain as the user it is trying to impersonate, or a domain that trusts the domain of that user.
Also, there is logging available. Amend the web.config file (\plumtree\ptntcws\5.0\webapp\ntcws). Change the line:
<level value="INFO" />
to be
<level value="DEBUG" />
The log will be output to D:\Program Files\plumtree\ptntcws\5.0\settings\logs\log.txt (this is the default value, again this is set in the web.config file). This will help you get more information on the error.

Bringing the actual cost (splitting among activity type) using 0co_om_cca data sources

Hi expert,
I'm using the data source 0co_om_cca_9 to bring the cost center data but the actual data is not being split per fixed and variable cost.
I've checked with CO team and the process to split the cost happens in the end of the month and it record the data with value type '3' in the covp table but the standard data source 0co_om_cca_9 just get the data with value type '4'.
Does someone know a standard datasource to bring the data with value type 3 from covp?
