Using pdv and km services

Hi,
I am trying to use the PDV and the KM Services but
import com.sapportals.wcm.repository.*;
import com.sapportals.wcm.util.content.*;
import com.sapportals.pct.util.pdv.PDVDynPage;
import com.sapportals.pct.util.pdv.IDataViewer;
causes the following message while compiling
import com.sapportals.wcm cannot be resolved
import com.sapportals.pct cannot be resolved
I installed the pdk and the eclipse-plugin as recommended. What do I have to do?
I am using
SAPPDKEclipsePlugins_5.0.5.0.zip
tomcat_pdk_5_0_5_0.zip
eclipse-SDK-2.1.3-win32.zip
jakarta-tomcat-3.3.2.zip
Developing 'normal' iview without services works fine.

Thanks for letting us know that your book is available. I have been following one of your articles about "Virtualize Your Oracle Database with Web Services". More specifically "The Database as Web Services Consumer". I think that this is an area that has in the past been under estimated as to the potential benefits.
I am currently trying to develop a solution that consumes several interfaces with a couple of them being published web services, so an ideal solution. I have then spent the last three weeks having to read up about the architecture of Java in the database, Jpublisher and make sense of how it all works together.
I have got very close to getting one of the web services to work but failed due to using 10gR2 where all the java & libraries has moved to version 1.5. The solution is to load the jdk1.4.2 and configure jpublisher to use this. So far so good except this is not available on some platforms, Windows - 64 bit (not itanium).
The configuration is proving very challenging but will hopefully reap rewards.
(Thought I would give you some background to my experience).
Anyway my question to you is having looked at Jdeveloper it appears to do almost anything except consume services into the database, also with Java now being at version 1.5 outside the database for 10gR2 and supporting 1.4 inside, do you see some alignment of these in future database releases?
Finally off to buy your book now as no doubt there is a huge amount more to learn.

Create a record using SAPUI5 and ODATA Service

Hi there,
since SPS6, SAP HANA should allow CRUD operations using an ODATA Service.
That sounds nice and so I wanted to give it a try.
I've started by creating a simple table and set up a tiny application that displays the data in a grid (using a JSON Model) and allows to insert new records by entering data into two textfields and save them as a new record to the databse. That works well, the grid shows the records which I have created using the SAP HANA Studio.
So I wanted to create new records, and the documentation says very clearly how to create a new record.
I've tried it this way, but when the request is send I get an 501 Not Implemented error.
Thats the code I'm using in my SAVE-Button:

After that I've tried to create a record using the POSTMAN extension for Chrome browser as mentioned in this cool video by Thomas Jung.
Unfortunately, this also doesn't work for me. After sending the request I get as respone a sap hana xs login window with Status Code 200 instead of a status code "201 created".

I'm using SAP HANA Cloud Trial.
Anybody got an idea what I'm doing wrong? Or does ODATA CRUD not work an SAP HANA Cloud Trial?

Hi Jason,
exactly, it's the logon page returned that is opened when I open the service URL in the browser. After logging on I can see the results of the ODATA service call.
The URL must be correctly defined, the grid shows up the data from the ODATA Service.
And yes, the URL looks OK when expecting in Chrome developer tools...

Using Applescript and Automator to manage files and folders

I need to make a simple action via applescript and-or automator to take the file it's been applied to (via the services) create a folder around it with the same name as the file.
So far, I've searched the web, found some solutions but none are really working.
Here's the script I found :

It It could either be a folder action (I drag and drop the files into a folder and boom, they get their folder around them)that I would set on a folder on a network drive, or locally, it doesn't matter, or a service (right clic on the file and boom folder around it.

This script work on files with a name extension.

Struts and web services

If you want to use Struts and web services, what approach do you take? If you want to use reliable messaging,
you need to have a web service client as well as the web service being called.
What is the recommended way to set this up?
Do you call a local web service from the action class and then have that web service do all of the business logic including calling remote web services?
I am just starting to look at this so I am probably not close but I would like some guidance on what, in general, is the correct approach.

In any cases it is recommended not to have duplicated jars in your deployment and also check if the version of the jars to use is supported by the version of the JDK used.

I'm not sure if I understand your question, but if you create a new iCloud account with a different ID your existing ID isn't effected by this. It will continue to work as it does now, you will just have an additional Apple ID. If you have an earthlink email address you can continue to use it as a separate account, and it can continue to be your default account if you set it to be (in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account). If I'm misunderstanding your question, please explain further.

Creating Activities in CRM using Word Templates and Web Services??

This functionality can be achieved through Adobe Interactive Forms from what I have learnt through demos etc. We are checking the feasibility of using with Word Templates instead.
This thread has multiple questions:
We are trying to set up the activity creation as mentioned in the CRM70 system.
1) At this point, finished the retrieval of information from the CRM Activity into a Word Template using a READ Web Service. Subsequently synchronized this with outlook and can see the Word document in the outlook item. Not able to open the same in Outlook, since it comes over as a XML document type. "Cannot open as there is a problem with the contents. ">" expected, line so and so...is the message
2) I created a Web Service that writes as well into CRM and would like to use this from the Word Template to create the activity in CRM
2a) Can the word template be incorporated with buttons that can trigger creation in CRM, similar to Adobe "Execute" etc
2b) If yes, and If there are some custom fields that I add to the activity transaction, in the UI, can I populate these with input from the Word Template, as well

You can create the Product in CRM GUI,by using Transaction:COMMPR01,not mandatory to have WebUI..,
but b4 that you need to set up Product Hierarchy and Product category under which the Products can be created.
Use Transaction:COMM_HIERARCHY Transaction to do this.

Right click 'computer' in your PC/laptop (whichever). Click 'Manage', then 'Services and Applications', then 'Services', you should see 'Apple Mobile Device' running or stopped. If you couldn't find 'Apple Mobile Device', it means you haven't download iTunes into your PC/laptop (whichever).

Can 10.5.8 OD master be used with 10.6.2 wiki and iCal services?

I am having a hard time getting OD users on 10.5.8 to login to 10.6.2 iCal and wiki. Is this setting up supposed to work? I can't find any info from the Apple's OD Administrator's guide.
Set up :
* one 10.5.8 server running OD master
* one 10.6.2 server running wiki and Apache
* one 10.6.2 server running iCal and Apache
* one 10.6.1 server running Mail service
The server for Mail does not bind to OD for authentication, and after assigning each OD user in group "com.apple.access_mail" all users can connect to mail service and get/send emails. Authentication is working perfectly.
However, based on the same OD master and user accounts, using the same connection methods (enabled iCal and Blog services in 10.5.8 server, without turning them on, and assigning users to both services in SACL) in the Wiki server and iCal server won't let any OD users to log in. In wikid's error log, I can see the following error msg :

Here are the questions :
* can 10.5.8 OD be used for 10.6 wiki and iCal service? Or must I configure 10.6.2 OD (either in another server or in the same host?)
* must the servers for wiki and iCal bind to OD in order for the services to work?
* must Kerberos be running for the services to work?

A 10.5.8 OD master should be fine for wiki and calendar services on machines running 10.6.2. However, you do need to have your servers hosting wiki and calendars to be bound to your OD master. You can enable Kerberos for iCal if you'd like, but it is not necessary.

Using AIA for Error Handling. Logging and Notification Services

In our project we usie OSB and BPEL for integrating different applications.
There is a suggestion that we should use AIA to just use the Error Handling, Logging and Notification services from AIA. I am not sure about this use case, as most of these services mentioned can be replicated in BPEL. Except for the AIAAsyncExceptionHandling BPEL process, i guess all other functionalties provided by AIA can be easily developed in BPEL or OSB alone.
However, would like to hear from you guys about this particular use case. Is it advisable?

Not able to deploy HumanTask and Decision service using ant file

I am using ant file to complile and deploy a bpel process. Currently i am able to compile the bpel process and deploy it. But when it come to deploying humantask and decesion services I am getting a message.
[deployDecisionServices] There are no decision services to deploy
[deployTaskForm] There are no forms to deploy
Kindly guide me out of this issue

if present,...the ant is not getting ../SVNCopy/Code/AuthorizeCredit/decisionservices and ../SVNCopy/Code/ManageCustomerCreditEligibility/AuthorizeCreditBS/public_html folders.

Not in the US, at the present time. Apple has not started selling officially unlocked iPhone 5's in the US, & has not announced when they will.
