Using XCode for Cross Developing (Target would be Linux x86)

I'm developing RealTime Software - running as RT-Kernel modules - written in C for Linux x86 (RTlinux on Kernel Version >2.4.32 or RTAI on Kernel Version 2.6.x).
At the moment I develop using ssh and vi on the target machine. This is NOT very comfortable.

Fine Links to the XCode Documentation. But reading it I just found how to cross develop to MacOS X targets (x86 and PPC).
Can you please tell me, if it is possible to use XCode for cross development with target machines using Linux on x86?

In theory, yes. In practice, no. You would need a version of GCC that supports targeting that architecture and all the header and library files for that architecture. It is highly unlikely to be worth the time and effort to try it and it may not even work even if you do everything right. Plus, you would still have to run and test on the target platform.
You'll just have to make life the best that you can on Linux. I suggest downloading the NEdit editor for X Windows. It is as good as any Mac editor and very easy to script for automation.

Short answer: no you cannot.
Longer answer: B1 gives you access to its objects and GUI
with COM-based libraries. Any language that supports COM
can be used, included VB, VB.NET, C#, C and C++. A wrapper
for Java is also provided to access B1 objects.

Cheapest option for someone new to mac wanting to use xcode and try develop

Apologies if this is in wrong location but couldnt find a general section
I havent used mac before, looking to find cheapest option to get in to the mac World and try my hand with xcode / develop the likes of an app for iphone for fun
Had found a imac5 1 but when I researched further it would appear that I might not be able to use this for latest version of xcode and therefore wouldnt suit my need. Shame as I think I could have got it for €300
Am I correct - in that its not suitable?
Any suggestions on what else would be suitable or where I could start?
I couldnt afford to spend €1,000 or more on a new mac whether it was desktop or laptop etc.
I want to get something thats useable (not from the dark ages) but realise that I may have to go back at least a few years thus the reason I was looking at the imac5,1

The latest XCode requires OSX Lion. That requires:
Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of RAM
Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later with the Mac App Store installed
At least 4GB of additional disk space to accommodate the download, but more is obviously recommended
Thus, assuming that whan you said imac5 you were referring to an iMac with an Power PC G5 processor you are right i that that is not compatible.
There are some Mac with an Intel Core sSolo and just Intel Core Duo processor that will not work with the latest XCode.
I would look for a Mac Mini 2007 or later since those meed the XCode requirements

Using Xcode for a 2008 MacBook with OSX 10.6.8

I bought a MacBook 2008 and it has OSX 10.6.8 on it. I wanted to use this computer to develop apps and download Xcode but it did not work with my computer. I then bought Mountain Lion thinking it would update my sytem to use Xcode but it would not download onto my computer. What updates or changed do I need to make in order to run Xcode and make this work?

I had a similar question. I was thinking of buying a second hand mac because i would like to download the latest xcode and develop apps. I read this, which might also help you if you haven't got it sorted yet. http://www.apple.com/ie/osx/how-to-upgrade/ It looks like you can upgrade from 10.6.8 snow leopard to os mavericks. scroll down to number 2 on this page then click the "upgrade from previous versions of OS X link"

Using JSONscriptRequest for cross domain calls?

Hi,
Looking through the REST SDK I see mention of the "JSONscriptRequest class" but I don't find much else about it.
Is this a jsonp callback and how can it be used?

I've never heard of this "JSONscriptRequest class", but as far as I know, the REST SDK doesn't support JSONP callbacks or JSONP in general.
For cross domain request, you'll find CORS settings on your WebApplicationContainer Server settings page in the CMC, but I'm not sure how / if they work.

Using Xcode for non-gui C++

I originally posted this in the wrong place, and I was told to post in here.
I am learning standard c++ in school, and we're programming with Microsoft visual Studio on PCs. I wanted to work on my projects at home, but I don't know how to create and build non-gui C++ projects. Anyone know?

If you want something like "Visual Studio" on Mac, then you can use the "Xcode" application in /Developer/Applications/. (I assume you have installed Xcode Tools, which is in your Leopard DVD).
Start Xcode, and select "New Project..." from the "File" menu. In the Assistant dialog, open "Command Line Utility" and select "C++ Tool". Enter the name of the project and where to save it, and push Finish. Double click on "main.cpp", edit it, save (cmd-S), and push "Build" or "Build and Run". Is this what you want?
Of course the project file is not comatible with Visual Studio, but you can copy the source files (*.cpp and *.h) to Windows PCs.
If you prefer to run C++ compiler from the command line (rather than to use Xcode application), then just open Terminal.app (in /Applications/Utilities/), cd to the directory where the source files are, and try typing "g++ xxxx.cpp".

Anyone use Cloudshare for Sharepoint development?

We need to develop some sharepoint solutions for both existing and future customers. Version varys, and we only have a MS Sharepoint 2013 license through MS Partner currently purchases. We have hence been looking at Cloudshare and there Team License as it fits in well as we have 3 developers that need the access to create.
Does anyone use or have used, or even use an alternateive that we can look at?
Any comments appreciated.

Using OEPE for OSB Development

Hello All-
I have downloaded oepe-galileo-all-in-one-11.1.1.5.0.201003170852-win32 from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/eclipse/downloads/index.html
Oracle Service Bus 11.1.1.3 is installed on a Remote Windows 2003 Server and I am planning to use OEPE IDE in my local desktop to develop projects and deploy it to the remote OSB server(mentioned above).
I would like to know if there is any plugin that needs to be installed to use OEPE as the IDE for OSB (Similar to JDeveloper 11g, where we have to install the SOA composite editor to develop SOA composites) ?
Kindly provide your inputs as I am unable to figure out on how to develop OSB services using OEPE.

The steps followed for this are:
1 Download and Install Weblogic+OEPE combined installer on your local
2 Download and install OSB on your local specifying the same ORACLE_HOME as in step 1 above.
Step 1 will do the base installation for OEPE and step 2 will add the required plugins to develop service bus projects in OEPE.

Using SPAU for custom development

Hi Guys,
take the following szenario:
We have Development system A and a copy of this system Development system B. Where B is the project system. In the time the systems A and B will be enhanced using different development. At one point in time the developments from system B should be merged with system A. Could this merge be done using some similar functionality like the SPAU after SAP-Upgrade to ensure the developments with origin in A and developments with origin in B are compared and amended in the right way ?

ok a small excourse on SPAU.
When transporting a transport request into the system (same for hot-packages or release-change), a new version is beeing put into the version managment of the referred object.
SPAU compares the active versions with the ones which got transported.
Problem at this edge is that SPAU just scans for modifications.
Modifications are changes to SAP-Standard objects. SPAU just checks for differences in SAP object.
Objects in customer name room, x or y will be ignored.
Thats why i dont think you can use SPAU.
BUT well you could copy the SPAU, and then reprogramm it a way it will not ignore x and y objects.
When SPAU is done and all is fine, THEN you transport the things to test and productive Server.

Use Xcode 6 without developer account

Hi All,
I downloaded Xcode and started making some stuff (very amateur) but made loads of mistakes and wanted to start again. When doing so i got the message "no signing identity found".
All i want to do is play around and make an app, it will never go on sale or anything, i would just like to learn without having to pay $99.
Is there a way of using this program and building apps without needing an account.
It appears that it was letting me before i deleted the files i created on the first few attempts.
Any help on this would be great.

Lack of useful components for application developer :-(

I want to share some remarks about our rewrite old Windows application to new AIR/flex application.
If any Adobe staff will reading this it will be great :-)
For colorfull web application with exotic buttons is Flex undoubtedly great choice.
But there is many developers (and firms like us) who looking for something little different.
We got bunch of Windows application written in Delphi. And we want (must) to move to another technology.
AIR is superior in language, runtime, simple move-to-web, blazeDS, tools and ecosystem growth is promising.
The only bad thing about Flex/AIR is UI. Yes, you hear right. UI is our biggest show-killer. And I am afraid that even with spark it will not be better.
We wrote application not coloring-book.
So we want only basic but state-of-the-art UI-standard componnets.
ToolBar, CoolBar, Button with three states, Button with icon and auto-disabled-grayed-icon, etc..
1) I found on the web three technique how to add icon on the spark button. Two of them include skinning. Absolutly confusing!
2) No useful CoolBar. How long it takes make CoolBar like in Adobe Acrobat Reader or MS Word in my application? This is matters for me!
I dont want two or three full-time developers extra for making basic components for us.
In this point Silverlight got 100% lead. No doubt.

Yes, Yes. Very much. You can have a look at 'Financials Operating Unit Level Setup' selection set to achieve what you are looking for. Here is the step to do:
1) Create an Extract using 'Financials Operating Unit Level Setup' selection setFinancials Operating Unit Level Setup' selection set
2) After successful completion of Extract, transform the Extract using Transform module. During transform you can change the Operating Unit name.
3) Load the Transform to same instance.
Make sure that you have all mandatory patches applied on your instances. I have documented the required patches on each release in the announcement section.

The menu bar on my business home page is missing. It loads on Safari but not on Firefox. I used IWeb for the development of the site.

I've just updated my business website. It looks perfect on Safari - but the menu bar is missing from the first page on Firefox - so no one can enter the site. Does this mean it's being blocked as spam? How do I fix this? Help!!!

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Can I use a prepaid CC for the developer program?

I don't have a credit card (and can not get one) so I was wondering if it would be possible to get a prepaid credit card from my bank and use that for the developer programs payment and ID verification?

Yes you can use a prepaid credt card. It still has to be associated with the country in which you are located which must be the same counry as the iTunes store yu are using.
