UWL: Deletion of workitems

Hi everybody,
its possible to delete workitems in the UWL?
Our customer don´t want to go to R/3 Gui and delete it there.

I am afraid not... even in R/3 you need specific Workflow authorization to delete the Work items,

In R/3 ,When a PO is released ( Approved ) , that workitem will goes to the Initiators and low level approvers UWL.
To delete that workitem Now the user opens that mail and deletes that manually.

Error in UWL while opening workitem

Hi All,
I have implemented a ESS package, have 2 standard workflows Claims and Leave.
I am getting error in UWL while opening workitem (advance claim) in inbox, error is as below:
Service cannot be reached
What has happened?
URL http://stest.hapl.com:8000/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/essinclaims/ClaimAdvanceApproval_IN call was terminated because the corresponding service is not available.
Note
The termination occurred in system DBX with error code 404 and for the reason Not found.
The selected virtual host was 0 .
What can I do?

UWL connection is fine as workflow is getting trigered and i can see work item in manager's inbox. I have created a dedicated template system for UWL with Web AS as ECC host:port number and Web AS path as /sap/bc/bsp/sap.
And maintained other connector and ITS properties and all connection test successully passed.
As we have only one sever so while creating system using load balacing template, was not able to identify message server name which is to maintained in case load balancing system.
Please help me finding out where can be the issue.

When registering the system in UWL, specify a WebDynpro Launch System. That should resolve the issue.
WebDynpro Launch System -- create a system of type WAS and mention the WAS host name and WAS path.

Who deleted the WorkItem?

How can one find out who deleted the Workitem or which table would have that detail?

You will definately find the agent who deleted the work item (or workflow) from the workflow log. You should be able to change the personal workflow settings to "technical mode". Both the work item and workflow display. If you are able to check the workflow log in the technical mode, you can check each and every work item of the workflow, and see the action performed for them. Normally you should be at least find the user who logically deleted the workflow from the first (="header")work item of the workflow.

Delete automatically Workitem from the INBOX

Is it possible to remove or delete workitem from the inbox of the remaining agents, when the workitem is sent to multiple agents at a time, and one of the agent completes the workitem ?
Can anyone help me for this problem ?

But, what I want is different.
My case is like...
A particular workitem will be sent to multiple users at a time, for approval from one of them. Once, one of them completes the execution of the workitem, then it should clear/delete the workitem from other users' inboxes.

what happens after deletion of workitem.
does it automatically restart the workflow of it only change the status of workitem to cancelled.???
if it automatically restart the workflow how can we stop it.?????

If you delete the workitem manually no workflow will be triggered automatically.

Getting error while deleting GP workitems from UWL

I am getting the error "Unable to perform the request. Try again and if the problem persists, inform your system administrator" when trying to delete the tasks in UWL .
I am using NW 7.0 SP21 . By modifying the UWL configuration xml .I get the delete button .While clicking on it I get the Confirmation Dialog box .and Clicking Yes I get the above mentioned error. The action handler used is IViewLauncher ..Is this functioning in this service pack? Please help.

Automatic deletion of workitem once the action is done.

Hi Team.
I have a small concern in Workflow,When the employee submits the Expense to admin for approval,the Admin has got 3 options
1.Approve
2.Review/Change
3.Reject.
When he selects the Approve or Review/Change and approves the Workitem its getting deleted from his Inbox.
But When he rejects the Expense with some comments its not getting deleted.
Could you please give some idea where exactly to check for workitem to get deleted.

if you want to set the workitem status from ready to complete then use the FM
SAP_WAPI_WORKITEM_COMPLETE
for this function module what you need to pass is Workitem ID and you can get it from SWWWIHEAD table
or if you want to delete them
SAP_WAPI_WORKITEM_DELETE

We have a deployment of Enterprise Portal which is integrated to SAP SRM (7.02). I have two queries regarding the standard behaviour of "Due Date" column in UWL:
1. The column always displays today as the due date for all shopping carts, irrespective of delviery date. I would like to know whether this is an issue and also would be helpful if you elaborate on how is this calculated.
2. The column is showing blank for any workitems other than shopping carts (Purchase Order change workitem, User change approvals, Invoice approvals etc.)

Ok regarding your queries kindly let me attempt to provide some clarification and oversight.
Firstly in terms of the column and the fact it displays todays date as the due date (irrespective of the actual delivery date). Now from a broad level overview perspective it is possible to change the display of the due date in the UWL. In the standard xml file you will see the following: <DisplayAttribute name="dueDate" type="date" width="" sortable="yes" format="medium" referenceBundle="due_date" hAlign="LEFT" vAlign="BASELINE" maxTextWidth="0" headerVisible="yes"/> The medium format refers to the output of the field displaying the date as follows: Jun 01, 2014. The short format refers to the output of the field displaying the date as follows: 06/01/14.The long format refers to the output of the field displaying the date as follows: June 01, 2014. The full format refers to the output of the field displaying the date as follows: Tuesday, June 01, 2014. I've attached some reference documentation below for further reference on both your queries.
Secondly regarding the blank columns for workitems. Here the first thing which needs to be ensured is that SAP Note: 1133821 - UWL Destination Service configuration is followed and setup accordingly in terms of configuration settings and parameters. Now you mention that this is occuring for another other item other than shopping carts? Are custom attributes involed here? Object visualization to open attachment link in UWL decision task workitems

We are using Object Visualization (in t-code SWFVISU) to open an I-view when you click the attachment link in decision task workitems. I sort of have this working. My issue is that I need to pass parameters to the I-view. I'm not sure how to do that. I've seen some documentation on dynamic parms in SWFVISU (DYNPARM) but I don't see that option (maybe we are on an older version). Maybe we can via XML files? I've done Task visualization and edited xml files but I'm not sure if we can do similar code for object visualization. Does anyone know how to do this? Have any samples/documentation?

Deleting unecessary workitems in production system.

There are so many workitems avaable in user inbox. Earlier there was some problem in the workflow, when user manually released the PR( Purchase Requisition or PO ( Purchase Order), the workitem wasnot disappeared from user inbox. We fixed it but those workitem processing the older version of workflow.
And worktiem related document was released already.
So, User dont want them. Please how to clean the user inbox. I Know about SWWL.but SAP advices not to use in PRD environment.
It is very urgent. Please give urs valuable solutions.

Yes, well, of course I will disagree... even though I've done it myself.
The point about deletion is that not only can you corrupt things (even with top-level) if you don't know exactly what you're doing; but this is also supposed to be an auditable process. Transactions and reports are logged on a statistical basis (i.e. number of executions over time), and evidence that <b>something</b> relating to PO release has been deleted with <i>no trace of what and by whom</i> is a very bad thing if spotted by an auditor having a bad day.
Kjetil's suggestion will do the job if there are a lot of items, however the question sounds like it might just be one item. Go into the technical view of the top-level item, Edit->Change and logically delete it. This way the item is gone and the log shows who cancelled it.

Logical deletion of workitem from SAP INBOX

Hello ,
When we are trying to delete some work items related to generic
decision task from SAP INBOX ,logically delte button is not visible and
we searched in menu it is in display mode.
The same button is visble for other workitems related to error idocs .
We have assigned the role to delete the work items of type all.
The button is visible for some type of tasks .
We have some 30 to 40 workitems (decision task) which are to be deleted .
Can we use reports RSWWWIDE and RSWWHIDE without archiving of those?

Logical deletion of workitems in fork branches.

Hi gurus,
I had to parallely execute some workitems and i used a fork for the same. But the workitems within the fork are getting logically deleted. Please give suggessions on how to avoid this.

Hi Sukumar,
that's SAP standard behaviour.
If you create a fork with a 1 out of 3 for succession, first 3 workitems will get created, if one of these branches reach the end of the fork, the condition is met and the other 2 will get logically deleted .

Am doing ESS leave request. my problem is that there are so many error work item in the portal inbox(development system). I want to delete all the work items in error states. How to do that. Is there any program to execute to delete all the workitems. my ultimate aim is to clear the portal inbox i want to show demo to the client so i want to clear all the workitems. help me

UWL getting all workitems, needs only HR one

Hi,
Please note that i am a HR functional consultant, we have implemented ESS on our project, now there is Universal Work List in which all the workflows should come related to HR processes only.
But issue is while we have connected UWL all workflows for that employees are showing in that whcih includes item from HR , MM and PM.
I have consulted my workflow consultant about this but, he is saying ""Differentiating between the workitems is not possible because it is the same Inbox.""
May you please suggest any solution for the same.

In general you should be able to restrict the different task types in UWL configuration. I mean that at the first place you need to configure each and every task in UWL configuration that the tasks would be visible in UWL (and this works also other way around - if you don't configure the task in UWL, it will not be visible in UWL). I know that people have had some problems with this functionality lately. The tasks have been visible in UWL even though they are not configured for UWL.
Using the above-mentioned BADI should definately not be the answer for your problem. If I understand correctly, this badi is for restricting the tasks being visible in the business workplace, and that is not something that you want to achieve. You want to achieve that certain tasks would be visible in Business Workplace and NOT in UWL, am I correct?
You should discuss again with your workflow consultant about this.
