Valuation type created automatic through first GR, but standard price = 0

Dear all,
I am trying to create Valuation type automatically through GR:
1) PO: material = A, Qty = 10, price = 2
2) GR ref the PO:  enter batch = N20001 , then the Valuation type is created auto = N20001 .
After posting GR, I check the MM03 and see that Material A , Valuation type = N20001: price control = S, and std. price = 0.
I have some questions as below:
a) How the system copy data for material master data for the new valuation type N20001?
b) If we create Valuation type auto like that, the Std. price will be zero, right?
c) How can we assign the Std price for new valuation type N20001 during it is created?
d) When we use the automatic valuation type?
Thank you very much for your help.
Rgds,
Cao Huy

Hi,
The valuation type is created automatically if the customizing is set for automatic val typ in local definitions during split val customizing. This is set when you want system to create the val typ record for the material during GR. If this is not set then before doing GR you will have to create the val typ.
This is purely a business decision.
The standard price will be zero because system is creating the val typ. In case you create the val typ you would be entering the standard price.
If the val typ is automatically created then you cannot enter std price. So this is a drawback if sys creates the val typ. Later you can update the std price through MR21 or by running a std cost estimate.

  • Missing automatic valuation type in delivery ME2O

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I'm trying to set a stock determination rule in a Subcontracting PO for materials having split valuation ("E" and "I"). I set everything about the final PO to choose the split valuation for components (it works good), I have a problem with the ME2O Delivery.
To do that I set into OSPX the stock determination item table, I linked the material and the movement (541) with the right stock determination group, the delivery item category with the stock determination rule.
When I create a delivery from ME2O it doesn't contain any Valuation Type and at the goods issue I must insert it manually.
Why isn't valuation type set automatically?
Thanks in advance for your replies!

    Dear Prasad,
I've already done it for many movement type (e.g. 261, 301, 309, 311) and it works for all of them. The problem is actually just for the mvt 541. In particular, if I set the stock determination for this movement it does not determinate the valuation type and also, if I fill the field with valuation type "E" the system gives the follows error message.

  • Default valuation type when issuing material or Creating Delivery

    Hi,
We have some material manage with valuation type  X,   Y,  Z   while creating PO  we are entering Valuation type in PO as per requiremtn   but i want that  whenever we issue the material  with 201   or creating delivery of that material with VL01N or VL02N  default valuation type should be    'Y'  so how to set this as default.
    regards,

You will need to create a stock determination strategy and stock determination rule  and assign it to the material master.
    use TCODE : OSPX.

  • Business Scenario - Valuation Type Error

    Dear Experts,
We are implementing SAP ECC 6.0 for one of our client.
    The scenario is
Our vendor supplies the material with batches with different inco terms.  For example same material will be supplied by the supplier with different prices based on incoterms, like CFR will have different price, FOB will have different price & CIF will have different price.  The batch number is common for all the incoterms.  The Lot produced in the same month will be sold by the supplier with different Incoterms.
    Example:
    Material     Batch No.     IncoTerm     Price
    AX90000          121010          CFR          250.00
    AX90000          121010          CIF          275.00
    AX90000          121010          FOB          225.00
To map this scenario we have activated split valuation for the material and created valuation type as CFR, CIF & FOB and maintained different prices.
The first time when we receive the material in CFR with Batch No.121010, the valuation type is automatically updated in the batch master.
The problem is next time when we receive the same material with same batch 121010 but in different valuation type CIF, system is not allowing me to receive the material and throws error Valuation type CIF differs from valuation type CFR.
I understood from the sap that you cannot have two different valuation type for the same batch.
Can anyone came across this type of scenario.
Please suggest how to handle this and map this scenario into SAP.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Regards,
    Suresh

    Hi Suresh,
If you assign and update each receipt of Batch with Characteristics Value of FOB or CIF or CFR.
Look through  your postings in FI too, if you have same Valuation type, but diff Characteristics you can still track them. in BMBC if your cleint follows FIFO or SLED.
I also appreciate the approach posted  above to have batch created with prefix of the in co term.
    Hope this helps,
    Thx

  • Valuation type in delivery

    Hello All,
I have one advance po which is cross docking specific and on that po i have created one collective po. on this collective po i have posted GR using transaction MB01.  GR got posted and delivery got created automatically on my main po which is correct but then in this delivery automatically valuation type is getting triggered.
can any one please help in knowing what may be possible reasons for this?
    Thanks and Regards
    Praful

Do you mean you create one PO with multiple deliveries? In this case, "GR based Invoice verification" indicator plays a role.
If you check this indicator and do partial deliveries, system may not pick the valuation type. but if you uncheck this indicator and do partial deliveries, valuation type entered for the first delivery defaults for all the other deliveries.
I'm not sure if this your problem but investigate the POs with reference to this indicator.

  • Moving average price based on valuation type for material

    Gurus help needed.
we want to maintain the moving average price of the material in the pricing, and this depends on the Valuation Type. We have 3 valuation types.
If valuation type is blank then one MAP(Moving average price) value will come and if nn one map will come and for nn one map will come.
We have copied VPRS conditon type to YVRP and changed conditon category as T( Moving cost).
But in pricing the YVRP price is not picking from valuation type which is blank.
Where can  i make the settings to tell the system to pick the moving average price from the material master where the valution type is blank always based on the condition.
Do we need to creat a routine? If so is there any standard routine which we can use or make minor changes to it?
If it is a new routine please tell me how to start with VOFM?
Note : We need the value to come automatically from material master same as VPRS.

    Hi
The first method is not to set the pricing condition VPRS as statistical.
Simply remove PR00 and it will work fine if you always use VPRS as your pricing base inside the pricing procedure.
VPRS will reads both prices based on the price control in the material master.
Price control S for standard price.
Price control T for moving average price.
It is this simple if you do not have any other "Prices" in the price procedure.
However, if you are using one pricing procedure where for some items you price using VPRS and some others using PR00, then you should use requirement routines to enable the correct price condition type at the right time.
The second method involves more work as you need to write a formula (VOFM) to get that information.
This is how it goes :-
    1. Set VPRS to be the first step in the pricing procedure and to be subtotal B (as standard).
    2. Set PR00 with alt. calc. type formula, which sets the value of PR00 to be equal to the subtotal B.
Step 1 VPRS statistical, subtotal B, reqt 4
    Step 2 PR00 Altcty 600

  • What is valuation type ?

    Dear All ,
pl explain what is val type & what is valuation catogary , & val. class where we maintain these in customizing .
    Rgds
    sap12

Hi below you can see the whole topic of split valuation,
there you can find definition and use of Val type, Category, and Class.
Hope you have gathered lot more information on this topic.
Please can you close the thread?
    SAP Split Valuation for Materials
The SAP R/3 System allows you to valuate stocks of a material either together or separately, that is, according to different valuation criteria. Split valuation is necessary if, for example:
    1. Stock from in-house production has a different valuation price than externally procured stock.
    2. Stock obtained from one manufacturer is valuated at a different price than stock obtained from another manufacturer.
    3. Different batch stocks of a material have different valuation prices.
    4. Value damaged and repair part differently from a new part.
To used split valuation, you have to activate it using 'OMW0'.
To change split material valuation once it has been set, you must
    1.  first post out all stocks (for example, to a cost center or with movement type 562)
    2.  then change the control parameters
    3.  if necessary, change the automatic account determination
    4.  finally post the stocks back in again
In split valuation, you can distinguish between partial stocks of a material according to certain criteria and valuate them separately.
The material stock is divided according to valuation category and valuation type.
The valuation category determines how the partial stocks are divided, that is, according to which criteria.
The valuation type describes the characteristics of the individual stocks.
With the function "Setting" you can determine:
which valuation categories exist in your company (global categories)
which valuation types exist in your company (global types)
which valuation types belong to which valuation category
which valuation categories exist in a valuation area (local categories)
Your entries are only relevant if you set split valuation as active in the function "Global settings".
In the standard SAP R/3 System, the following valuation categories are default settings :
    B procurement type
    with the valuation types:
    "EIGEN" for in-house production
    "FREMD" for external procurement
    H Origin
X automatic valuation (only for batch)
To select split valuation ('OMWC'), proceed as follows:
    1.  Determine the valuation categories and valuation types that are allowed for all valuation areas:
global valuation categories via menu "Goto --> Global Categories"
global valuation types via menu "Goto --> Global Types"
    2.  Allocate the valuation types to the valuation categories.
         a) Select "Goto --> Global Categories".
         b) Position the cursor on a valuation category and select
            "Goto --> Global Categories --> Assignments --> 'Types->Category'".
         c) Activate the valuation types you want.
    3.  Determine the local valuation categories for each valuation area.
         a) Select "Goto --> Local definitions".
         b) Position the cursor on a valuation area and select
             "Goto --> Local Definitions --> Allocate Categoires->Org.units (button Cats->(OU)".
You obtain a list of the global valuation categories.
         c) Activate the categories to be used in this valuation area.
The system creates the local valuation types based on the allocations under point 2.
Only now can you create a master record with split valuation.
Specifying Split Valuation by creating Material Subject to Split Valuation
    1.  Create a material master record, selecting the Accounting View 1.
    2.  Enter your data as required on the Accounting data screen, specifying a valuation category.
(If you can't find the valuation category field, it might be hidden, use OMSR to define the Field Groups.
Look for the field MBEW-BWTTY for Valuation category).
    3.   Be sure that the price control indicator is V for moving average price and enter a moving average price.
    4.   In the case of split valuation, you can create only one valuation header record with price control V because the
individual stock values are cumulated, and this total value is written to the valuation header record.  This is where the
individual stocks of a material are managed cumulatively. To do this, fill in the Valuation category field on the accounting
screen when you create the material master record and leave the Valuation type field blank.
    5.   Save your data and the system creates the valuation header record.
    6.   The initial screen appears.
    7.   Extend the material by creating new material master records from the Accounting view 1. For the first material, specify a
valuation type in the Organizational Levels dialog box and enter the respective accounting data on the data screen.
Proceed likewise for the other materials, distinguishing between them by valuation type.  To do this, call up the material in
creation mode again. Due to the fact that a valuation header record exists, the system requires you to enter a valuation
          type for the valuation category.
    8.   Repeat step seven for every valuation type planned.
You want to valuate the stock of material XYZ that you obtain from manufacturer A in Los Angeles at a different price than the stock you obtain from manufacturer B in Detroit. In this case, the valuation category is H for origin. Your valuation types can be LOS ANGELES and DETROIT.
If a material is subject to split valuation, every quantity (sub-stock) of this material must be assigned to a valuation type (for example, country of origin).
For every valuation type, there are two types of data in the system, as follows:
Valuation data (for example, valuation price, total stock quantity, total stock value), which is defined for every valuation type at valuation-area level and applies to all dependent storage locations.
Stock data, which, like batch data, is managed separately for each storage location. If a material that is subject to split valuation is also subject to management in batches, its stock data is not managed by valuation type, but rather by batch. Every batch is assigned to a valuation type.
The stock quantity, stock value, and valuation price for all valuation types are managed cumulatively at valuation-area level.
Must the Valuation Type Exist Before the First Goods Receipt?
You can post the goods receipt of material of a certain valuation type only if the valuation data for this valuation type already exists, because the system valuates the goods receipt at the price defined in the valuation data. On the other hand, the stock data for the valuation type is created automatically during the first goods receipt into the storage location, if this is defined in Customizing for Inventory Management.
Goods Movements with Materials Subject to Split Valuation
If you want to enter goods movements for materials subject to split valuation, you must enter the valuation type in addition to the material number.
Enter the valuation type in the Batch field for MB01.
In MIGO, there is a valuation type field in Detail data -> Material.

  • Valuation type requirement at STO

    Hi Friends,
We have a scenario in stock transfer as follows,
Material is split valuated( say valuation type as Traded and Manufactured). The valuation type for the material maintained at receiving plant is TRADED and for the same material at supplying plant maintained as MANUFACTURED.
While creating STO( PO with doc type UB) , system is picking valuation type in the PO as TRADED.
While posting out bound delivery and goods issue from supplying plant, system will pick valuation type as MANUFACTURED.
While receiving the goods at receiving plant( MIGO u2013with respect to Out bound delivery), system is picking valuation type as TRADED but not MANUFACTURED.
But client requirement is that, while posting GR w.r to out bound delivery , system should always pick valuation type which is maintained at supplying plant(in this example valuation type MANUFACTURED) but not from the PO(STO).
    How to achieve the same

    Hi,
The split valuation concept is like this.
Generally when a PO is created in a plant for a perticular valuation type means, you are going to purchase a material which is of that valaution type.the PO creating plant will be with the material and this material is to be extended to that valuation type for the new price in the new accountingh view in that plant.
In your case you are creating a sto--ub, means the material which is being procured should be in both the plants.
since you are creating the po in receiving plant and it is maintained as 'traded' in that plant po is being created for that valuation type.
since in the supplying plant the material is with 'manufactured' while its delivery system will take as manufactured.
As you want to receive the goods as manufactured, maintain the new accounting view as manufactured in the receiving plant and create the PO for manufactured valuation type and deliver through supplying plant.since delivery plant is having the manufactured valuation type it delivers the same and as you createsd the PO for manufactured, you receive the same.
After receiving that material will be with you and ready for a trade or resale.for such purposes use the traded valuation type.
    Hope it is clear.

  • Material block for Valuation Type

    Hi,
I would like to block material for the particular valuation type. That means the system should not allow me to create PO or any document for that valuation type.
How shall i can do in SAP? I know in MM06 we can set deletion flag for the material for the particular Valuation type but after doing this deletion indicator also the system is allowing me to create a material with Valuation type.

    <b>How to depreciate a material price?</b>
I have a material with 2 qualities, i.e. quality 1 and quality 2, both with same material number. I need to give discount to these diff quality materials in the following manner.
    Types     0-6 month     6-12 month     12-24 month
    Quality 1     0%     50%     100%
    Quality 2     30%     60%     100%
I am stuck with this, please help me in resolving the problem.

  • Valuation Type: Auto Batch

    Dear Guru,
Please kinldy guide me about how to set valuation type for automatic by batch.
    I've set valuation category: X Automat.(batch)
when I good receipt and input QTY, Amount, Batch number, the system keep price as standard price 0.0 EUR
I would like to keep price as moving or standard price as amount that I've input when good receipt.
    Please kinldy guide me
    Thank you
    Saiyaman

    Hi ,
The header material which has valuation category -X  must have price control - V .
All other valuation type can have V or S . Since the valuation type is a batch ,system will use the price control from material type .
    1. maintain the price control in the materil type in OMS2
    2. In the header material along with moving average price maintain standard price also .because if the material type has -V ,it will pick PO price while creating batch/valution type on GR.
if the mateil type has - S ,then it will take the standard price from the materila .So you have to maintain std price in the header material eventhough the material is having price control - V
    hope it helps

  • Is it possible to create Automatic Scheduled Agreement like Automatic PO

Could you please explain, is it possible to create an automatic schedule agreement from the PR, PIR (ie.e viz.. as Creation of Automatic Purchase Order)

    Hi
Why you want to generate the Scheduling agreement automatically?  What is the requirment? Volume is high?
As Sridhar mentioned you have no option in standard SAP to create automatic scheduling agreement. But you can create delivery schdule via MRP.
If you have more volume then go for developing the program with ABAP guys.
if the requirment is for Cut over only then go for LSMW or BDC options.

  • Status = Approved then the followup transaction should be created Automatic

    Dear Experts,
    My client's requirement is
Solution manager is implemented already now client want to use Change request Mangement(ChaRM) functionality.
All the statuses are maintained in the system through the Action profile.
Once the Standard change request(SDCR) get approved then single change request(SDMJ) should be created automatically through actions.  Is there any standard action profile for doing this requirement.
This action need to be available in the status approved.
    Regards,
    Babu.

    Hi Babu,
    Did you configure ChaRM functionality?
Do you use CRM_ORDER and Action profile SLFN0001_ADVANCED?
If yes, and the status are maintained in the action profile, then it does automatically.
Once the change request(SDCR) is approved by Change Manager a Normal correction request(SDMI) will be created automatically.
Is there any specific reason that your client needs a normal correction request(standard) - SDMJ?
Because normal correction request(SDMI) will serve all the funtionality.
