Variable in Analyzer

Hi!
I have a question of variables in Analyzer.
I have 2 Characteristics (Start date and End Date) and I created a restricted Key Figure that has a 0NET_VALUE and the restriction of 2 User exit variables that brings the data of 2 month forward for the End Date and 2 month backward for the Start Date. When I put only one variable in the restriction the Restricted Key Figure works perfect in the Query, but when I use the two variables at the same time in the Restricted Key Figures brings no data.
What can I do to solve this issue?
Thanks a lot!
Regards.

if you put both User exits in Restricted key figure , then BEx will be considering intersection operation.and hence it will result no data because logically, there is no possibility of having data during the period "for 2 months after the End date and 2 months before the Start Date".
please use them in separate.

  • Range variable

    Hi!
I have a question of a range variable in Analyzer.
I have 2 Characteristics (Start date and End Date) and I created a restricted Key Figure that has a 0NET_VALUE and I want to restrict this Key Figure with the range of the Start date and the End Date. When I create a Range Variable it´s only give me the option to create a Range for one Characteristic (Start Date or End Date).
What can I do to solve this issue?
    Thanks a lot!
    Regards.

if you want to restrict 0NET_VALUE for the date range Start_date and End_date then please follow the following steps:
    1. Create a restricted key fig
    2. include 0NET_VALUE
    3. include Start_date and End_date as well
    4. for Start_date, pick the value range Greater than equal to
    5. for End_date , pick the value range less than equal to.
    save it.

On first connecting to the Apps using Internet Explorer - I get to the login page enter sysadmin/sysadmin, click Login. The browser thinks about it for a second and then returns to the login screen. No errors reported. It just doesn't progress to responsibility selection.
Browser settings are all ok. Indeed, I am able to connect to another R12 system using the same PC/browsers just fine.

    Hi Hussein,
1)From the note 246105.1 performed the following and called the URL https://gfs2devweb1.fin.psa:8443/OA_HTML/J2SEtest.jsp
    =============================================================================================
To create a simple J2SE test page (without logging into the Oracle E-Business Suite database), proceed with the follows:
Change to the OA_HTML directory on the HTTP server.
Using a text editor, create a file called J2SEtest.jsp with the following lines:
    The J2SE version is:<%= System.getProperty("java.version") %>
    <p> </p>
    The class path is:<%= System.getProperty("java.class.path") %>
    =============================================================================================

  • BEx Analyzer: Formula Variable with Replacement path change Month with Day

Hi experts I'm facing this issue in BEx Analyzer.
I need to have some dates in format DD/MM/YYYY in Index Structure, in order to do this I've created a formula variable with replacement path referenced to 0CALDAY characteristic.
The formula works but it behaves in a strange way:
if the day is higher than 12 the displaied result is correct (DD/MM/YYYY)
if the day is lower or equal 12 the displaied result is wrong (MM/DD/YYYY)
    I'm on BW 7.01 SP6 and BEx Analyzer 7.10 SP12, excel 2007.
anybody has faced this issue before?
    any help will be appreciated
    Daniele Cortopassi

    Hi Daniele,
This seems pretty strange. Pls. redo validation with the dump data, as being a flat struture BEx does not apply any logic changes. May be it might have been MM/DD/YYYY format as in workbooks. Else you may change the property of 0calday display as "Text". Business Explorer > Display > KeyMaster Data/Texts > Texts (Plese check this option). If you are using some text table you may maintain the same using BI0/TCALDAY (Similar to BI0/TCALMONTH2). Guess it should be an excel based issue; if not you may try the same in WAD/Report designer to verify the nature of the issue. If you don't face these inconsistencies in WAD/RD then you may change excel formatting options. Lastly, please let us know if the infoobject has some predefined settings in RSA1 > Infoobject > (BEx) Properites.
    Thanks,
    Arun Bala

  • Can we run a query with variable screen at start up in Bex Analyzer

    Hello all,
I have a query which asks for fiscal year and posting period at the start of query run. But when I run the query in analyzer, it gives me this error all the time.
"Program error in class SAPMSSY1 method : UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION
System error in Program CL_RSR_REQUEST and form TEXT_ELEMENTS_GET: VARIABLE"
    Can someone help,
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
Please check if OSS note 858458 is applicable in your case.

  • Variable screen not popping up in BEx Analyzer

    Experts,
I'm facing a wierd situation while executing queries in 3.5 BEx Analyzer. When the query is executed using 3.5 BEx Analyzer varibale screen does not pop and report strats running wide open. The Varible input is optional. But if  the report in executed using Web (From the 3.5 Query Designer) variable screen pops up. This happens with the same user ID.
Please let me know if you have any ideas, could this be something realted to authorizations. In the meantime, i'm trying to change the varibale to mandatory and see if the variable screen pops up.
    Thanks

    Hello
The standard behavior is not show the variable screen if it has no mandatory variables. In the webtemplate you may have the parameter forcing to show the variable screen added in the code. It is something like  "force variable screen". Please check if you can see that parameter.
    regards

  • Variable Screen Does Not Display in Bex Web Analyzer after first time

We recently upgraded from BW 3.1 to BW 7.0 (without upgrading specifically to 3.5).  We are having a problem with our Web Bex Analyzer not showing the variable screen although the variable screen is displayed successfully when running the same query from the Bex Analyzer.  Based on feedback from other posts regarding similar topics, we modified the 0analysis_pattern template to ensure that Display Variable Screen was checked on.  We are finding that when we open the Web Bex Analyzer and do a New Analysis, the first query we try to run will always have the variable screen displayed successfully.  Any susbsequent queries we try to run by clicking on New Analysis in that same open window will not show the variable screen and will start executing open ended.  This is occurring regardless of whether the query has mandatory or optional variables and we have confirmed that there is no personalization set for the variables being used.  We have tried it with several different queries and the results are consistent.  The first query you run shows the variable screen successfully and any queries run after that do not.  Any help in resolving this would be greatly appreciated as we have exhausted our resources researching and troubleshooting this problem.

We did open an OSS note and heard back from SAP.  We made the recommended setting, see their response below, but as they stated, it will only show variable screens for queries that have at least one mandatory variable entry after the first query is opened.
    Response from SAP:
Please check if the following setting is made within your template --
In the 'Standard Actions' of the Web Template, do you have the setting
'Action Before First Display' set to OPEN_VARIABLE_DIALOG
The behaviour of the variable screen is different if you use mandatory
variables and optional variables. If you have only optional variables,
the Display Variable does not force the variable screen.
Also, using the parameter VARIABLE_SCREEN=X only influences the
web application at STARTUP. This would not come into affect when you
use the 'New Analysis' button. This button resets the dataprovider so
this would not affect the variable screen and would not redisplay the
    variable screen as you require.

  • Variable Screen in Analyzer 7.0

    Dear All,
I am facing a peculiar problem with the variable screen.
The problem is even though I define the variables to be of type Interval or Selection Options, when I execute the query It shows the variable but allows on single entry.
But I do not have any issues in RSRT.
This is the following Analyzer I am using.
BI AddOn 7.X (based on 7.10)
    Support Package 7
    Revision 571.
Please let me know how to solve this issue.
    Cheers,
    Neel

    Dear Leo,
Could you please check and let me know whether the Support Pack 9 is on Business Explorer Side or BI Side.
If possible could you please open your Bex Analyzer and from the Bex Tool Bar click on Application Help --> About and let me know the exact details.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Cheers,
    Neel.

  • BEx Variable defined in BI 7.0 Query Designer and using in BW 3.5 Analyzer

    Hi,
I have defined a variable in BI 7.0 Query designer for a characteristic which is present in characteristic restrictions area to restrict it . Ideally when that query is executed a pop up box should be opened to enter a value of the variable. But when that query is opened in BW 3.5 BEx Analyzer, instead of pop up box the error message " Error specify a value for the Variable ' Variable Name '  " has been displayed. Please help me to resolve this problem
    <i><b>Details of Variable:</b></i>
    Type: Characteristic Value
    Processed by: Manual Entry/Default Value
    Variable is : Mandatory
    and Ready for input
No default values are defined for this variable.
    Thanks
    Hari Prasad.

    Hi,
Once a query opened and changed in the BI7.0 query designer u can not use the same query in lower version.
Thats the reason the error message coming.
If u need the 3.5 query just keep as it is , and copy the same query in different name and open it in the BI7.0 and do the changes.
    Thanks,
    Debasish

  • How to remove Variables Personalization in the BEx Analyzer?

Hi All, Help us. Say please:
    1. How to remove personal Variables Personalization for query/user in the BEx Analyzer with standart tools?
    2. How to disable personalization button on varible screen?
Our users very often click this "bad" button and after that can't to find required criteria on selection criteria screen. We've studied BW Guides and Forum materials (may be not very thoroughly), but search usefull information only for Web Reporting. We've search corresponding table /BI0/APERS_VAR00 but fear to edit it directly.
    Best regards, Igor

    Hi All,
I think that best way to remove personalization of any var or infoobject could be done through the next logic.
    we have ODS <b>0PERS_VAR</b>.
we need to remove line from this ODS with specific parameters like USERNAME and VAR_NAME or IOBJ_NAME.
    <b>Step by step instruction</b>:
    1. Create <b>update rule</b> from ODS 0PERS_VAR to the same ODS.
    2. Write <b>'Start routing'</b> to update ODS with the next ABAP-code
      LOOP AT DATA_PACKAGE.
        DELETE FROM /bi0/apers_var00
          WHERE tctusernm = DATA_PACKAGE-tctusernm AND
              ( tctvarnm = DATA_PACKAGE-tctvarnm OR
                tctiobjnm = DATA_PACKAGE-tctiobjnm ).
        DELETE DATA_PACKAGE.
      ENDLOOP.
    3. Activate update rule.
    4. Update ODS Data in Data Target with <b>'full update'</b> !
    5. At the selection screen of info-package <b>specify fields</b>
              < 'TCTUSERNM' - username  > AND
              < 'TCTVARNM' - var name > OR < 'TCTIOBJNM' - infoobject name >
PS:\ As result <b>personalisation will be reseted selectively</b>.
if it help you, it is a chance to donate some points to me
    best regards

If i run the same report in RSRT i do get my variable screen. It was all find till yesterday and for some strange reason i dont get to see my variable screen.
    Can anyone help me

Did you try resetting personalized variables? You may have hit that by mistake, happens a lot here. Not sure that would be the case with no values entered however.

  • BEx Analyzer Not showing report result in canceling "Change variable Icon"

    Hi Experts,
Do we have any settings in BEx Analyzer for retrive the Result set even after I click 'Change variable Icon' in Toolbar and cancel the variable pop-up window??
Eg: My query Result is displayed in Analyzer selecting some vaues in Selection screen. And when I click the Change Variable Icon from 'Analyzer Toolbar' its showing me 'Select values for variable' window. If I select the cancel button in it, then Query result becom blank showing the message "There are variables; change variable values". Do Analyzer having an option or settings to keep the result even if i cancel the variable selection from "change variable icon".
    Thanx in advance..

    Sari-
If SAP provides such a function, I have not found it. The way I understand it., the change variable value initiates the OLAP back end. This clears the Presentation Manager front end, and clears the 'results' that are displayed on your workbook. If you cancel the OLAP run, the front end clear still executes.
HOWEVER... if you turn OFF Automatic Refresh before clicking on Change Variable Values and then clicking on Cancel, the presentation manager will not write any changes to your workbook. So that is your best solution.
