Velocity measurement from low resolution encoders

Hi, I have 1024 pulse/1rotation encoders. I want to calculate or estimate angular velocity from this low resolution encoders. When I use dx/dt(derivative.vi)  there are high and low readings which obviously seem wrong to me.I want to have a more smooth and accurate reading(and without much delay). Is there an efficient and accurate way of reading velocity measurements from this low resolution encoders? FOr example does Ni/Motion help? Or is there a velocity measurement .vi ?
Thank you.

As far as I remember (*) , the FP-QUAD will measure the velocity by counts during a fixed time slot. The maximum time is (was?) 26.??ms.
Your resolver has 1024 pulses (I assume 2 pulse streams with 90° shift) , the QUAD will count pulse edges, so you get 4096 counts per revolution. Together with the integration time (26.??ms), you get a resolution of 38.15 counts/s (See manual of the FP-QUAD) or an error of +/- 0.559 RPM
Of course you can read the 32bit counter of the QUAD in a user defined time periode and calculate the velocity.
If you have real slow movements, you can measure the time between each pulse. The accuracy will depend on the quality of your resolver and the resolution of your timer, however I think this couldn't be done with the FP-QUAD.
* My last task with FP-QUAD was 4 years ago, maybe new firmware and driver give you more choices now

  • From Low Resolution Recording to High Resolution SVCD or DVD

I am wondering, if I record from a VHS tape at the lowest resolution onto my hard drive, then use WinProducer/Wincoder 2.0 (bundled together now) to convert it to a higher DVD quality resolution and burn it to a CD, will the quality be at least near what it would have been had I have recorded it as a high resolution file to begin with?
I thank any responses in advance.

    hplsbyufan
The point of recording in low resolution is that it takes less data than high resolution. So if you save something in low resolution you have lost the extra data that was needed to describe the images in more detail.
By way of analogy, if I describe the plot of a film I have just seen (low resolution) you cannot use that description to retrieve the detail of each scene (high resolution).
So, unfortunately you cannot get a higher resolution than that in which you originally recorded it.
    Sorry

I tried to find some post like mine but i did not find it.
    I have this scenario:

But i need to create a new calculated member based on VALUE from LOWER to HIGH making a cumulative sum like this:

    Hi Fabrizzio,
Most of the running total snippets you will find in the forums contains elements like currentmember, prevmember or ranges [A : B] that also refers to members.  Unfortunately the relative position of those elements  are extracted from the hierarchy
level  of the correspondent members as defined in the cube dimensions and not from the ordered (query scope) set.
The usual solution is to define a measure as the rank in the ordered set and take  the cumulative sum with head ():   sum(  head( ordered set, till the rank) , by the value measure ).
If you choose the recursive solution for the running total you could use item() in combination with rank: maybe something like orderedset.item(rank measure) as an ersatz of currentmember.

  • Some 1080p movies upscaled from lower resolutions?

I purchased the 1080p HD version of The Right Stuff. When watching it at full screen size on an 1080p display, either on my old 21.5" iMac or my new Windows 7 PC with an 1080p display, I can clearly see jagged edges in any scene with sharp details. It looks like they are selling a lower resolution copy of the movie poorly upscaled to 1080p.
    Here's a crop of a screenshot:
Compare with Das Boot, also a 1080p HD movie:

Not yet. I'm checking the iTunes store occasionally. Last time I checked, the 1080p HD movie size was shown as 7.17GB. But checking this now, I see a different size in iTunes 10.7 and 11! iTunes 10.7 still shows the movie size to be 7.17GB but in iTunes 11 it is 7.70GB, about 600MB larger! I'm not sure why the iTunes store shows different sizes when viewed in two different versions of iTunes. I'll wait for both to show the same size before buying it again.

  • Velocity Measurement from FPQuad-510 encoder pulse counter

Hi, I have a quad-510 quadrature encoder counter and a 1024pulse/1rotation encoder. How can I read or calculate angular velocity(accurately and without much delay) from encoder readings?
Is there a special vi or another algorithm (other than derivative.vi) that could help?
    Thank you.

    Caner,
What do you see listed for the status of the velocity channels in MAX?
Also check your channel configuration to make sure you have an appropriate range set.
    Regards,
    Simon

  • Upsizing project from lower resolution

Sorry if I'm a little blunt but I'm in a bit of a panic and have to get this video ready for a university project
on Tuesday and I can't find anything that helps elsewhere.
My problem is that somewhere along the way, my project has been saved as 720x576 when it started
out as 1280x720 (the max that the uni projectors will take). I created a new sequence of the correct size
and took everything in to it. All of my images and video in the project were created with 1280x720 in mind
so general upsizing has meant that nothing has become pixelated.
However, four images have become cropped down the left and right sides, two of them weren't even up to
the edge of the frame in the smaller project (one is a nested loop in case that matters for that one).
Could anyone suggest anything to help me fix this please?
    Using Premiere Pro CS4.

Yes, it's just that element in that particular screenshot.
Removing one of the images, turning Default Scale to Frame Size on, and then re-inserting worked
for one of the images but a second one wouldn't have it. I've had to re-build the nested sequences
(an awful job!) but in the upscaled sequence unfortunately, so now they're on top of everything else.
I'll look in to this more after this project is done because I can't afford to waste any more time
Thanks a lot though, your suggestions still helped and now I know what I need to learn more about!
EDIT: I've worked out what the problem is. I actually found the same issue with a few other elements
that were hidden under other layers and it turns out it's the crop effect to blame for my woes.

  • My address book and iPhone pics have become low resolution.  Is there a way I can prevent this from happening when I start out with a higher resolution picture?

I guess I squeezed my entire issue into the subject line.  lol   When I sync my iphone to my laptop I notice that all my address book pics and iphone pics have become lower resolution, even though I started out with the resolution that I really needed to produce decenty address book printouts.  I doubt I can correct the losses of resolution that have occurred but can anyone help me figure out how to prevent future losses?  Thank you!

Plugins usually are installed externally to Firefox. However, you can disable them in Firefox so that Firefox does not use them.
SearchReset is supposed to automate the task of resetting certain preferences, but you still can edit them manually if necessary.
    '''''Address Bar Search'''''
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the filter box, type or paste '''keyword''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Right-click '''keyword.URL''' and choose Reset. This should restore Google as the default for address bar search.
    Does that work?
    '''''Search Box'''''
Usually it works to choose your preferred search engine from the drop-down. To remove an unwanted search engine plugin, usually the Manage Search Engines... choice at the bottom of the drop-down takes care of it.
    Do either of those work?
There might be another way to hijack that search box; I think some of the other frequent responders probably are more familiar with it than I am.

  • HT1044 Issues w/Low Resolution when trying to print pics from Iphone 4s

Been trying CONTINUALLY to print images from my Iphone 4S.  Example, uploaded a few pictures from phone to Kodak site.  Get error message, "Low Resolution, may print blurry", message for the photos.  Yes, They DID print blurry.  Recommended by someone, I changed the setting on my Iphone to HDR under Options for Camera.  Still have the issue.  What is purpose of having hundreds of pictures on iphone (that look wonderful on facebook, by the way), but you CaN'T print them out or order prints!??!   Verrrry Frustrating.   Any suggestions how to fix this issue?  I understand there needs to be a certain level of pixels....however, there HAS to be a way to change them to a higher res to get good quality pictures.   Help Please!!  Thank you!

  • Low resolution photos from Revel

    Hi,
I hope this is the correct forum and that this question has not already been delt. I have search but dont find any solution.
I have decided to stop using dropbox "camera upload" and switch to Adobe Revel.
I seams to work great except for the fact that the photo inside Photoshop elements is a lower resolution than the original taken on my iPhone. This kind of defeats the point to me! Dropbox uploaded the full resolution pic to my PC.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to get the original quality version on my PC using Revel. I am not interested in the "social media" side of it it.
My primary use for Revel is to get my FULL / ORIGINAL image inside Photoshop elements. Dropbox, Onedrice and Googledrive do a great job but at the end of the day I still need to import the pictures. Revel just seems cleaner if I can get it to work.
BTW, if I download a photo via the Revel website it is the original so my iPhone is updoading as it should.
    Any help will be appreciated
    Kind Regards
    Jason

    Hi Jon,
Thank so much for your reply. That portion I comfortable with, but was thinking I could take photos with my mobile phone and have them sync to a folder on my PC as my originals. I dont want to download photo's from my phone. It does work as desired exept the fact that the photos resolution is lower on the PC than the "originals" on the Revel website.
If I right click on the photo in PE and select "download original from revel" it works, but sort of defeats it purpose in my case.
It seems like Photoshop is not importing the pic at the original resolution. ie to me I would expect a "import original resolution" inside photoshop.
    I am using PE12.
I dont like to compare PE revel to apple iCloud, but this is how their software works. If I take a photo on my iPhone its on my mac in full res within minutes to do with as I please. This is what I was thinking Revel could do for me and more. Dropbox, Onedrive and Googledrive all support this, but then I have to import it into PE.
Once again. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Much appreciated!!
    Kind Regards
    Jason

  • My iphone 4s suddenly displays images from Yahoo, Google, and Flickr at low resolution. The camera on my phone works fine, but any web related photo content is now pixelated and low res, what's the deal?

My iphone 4s suddenly displays images from Yahoo, Google, and Flickr at a low resolution. I have IOS 7.0.4. My phone camera works fine, but any web based photo content from Safari, Yahoo images, Google images, and Flickr all come in pixelated and low res. What's the deal?

It happened to me but later I figured out that cellular signal was not that great and so the Internet was very slow. It took me about 2 minutes to get the full resolution picuture on either of the app you've described. Try to get faster internet either by wifi or good signal and then check.

  • Restore from icloud - got images only low resolution an most missing

I got a new iPhone, my last one was crashed from a car. I had backup from the last iPhone by WLAN to iCloud only. No Backup via iTunes local. After restoring I got only 350 Images of the 805 images i had. And these 350 images are only in very low resolution. Strange: At "Information" my iPhone says that there are 805 images on the phone ... but where?? ... and where is the quality gone? Any idea someone? Thank you in advance ... Matt.

There have been countless reports of users restoring from iCloud only to find their pictures gone.  There have been no solutions that I know of.  The general suggestion is always to sync pictures to a computer (to iPhoto on macs or to a designated folder on PCs).  Don't rely on iCloud for that.

  • HT3209 low resolution videos playback with lines from left to right

When I play HD video's (720p) they play properly and just fine, when i play lower resolution videos (480) i see lines that run across from left to right in the middle of the screen, I can't find any settings to change to prevent that from happening.  I would think if it was a computer problem it would have more trouble with the HD content than the SD content.
Does anyone know how to handle this?
Dell 2.0Ghz processor with 2Gb of RAM
Issue is only noticeable on SD videos (480p)

  • Exporting pdf from cs6 results in much lower resolution file

    Hi,
I try to export various files photos, posters at jpeg and psd formats to pdf but I'm getting much lower resolution files eg from 2480x3508jpeg to 500x800 pdf. The same happens to all cs6 design standard suite. To the preview as well. I'm using mavericks. Does anyone know the solution?

Appropriate image size needs to be set in Photoshop.  Leave all the layers - especially vector layers like Type and Shapes
Then you need to read through the options when saving as PDF.
In the General Tab choose 'High Quality print'.
In the Compression tab make sure the dpi is set to at least 300
That should be fine, so if not, come back and tell us what is happening.

  • How to fix Photoshop CS4 from opening in low resolution with mac retina?

My photoshop is opening in low resolution on my new Mac (I can see this from the application's 'get info'). How can I stop this from happening? It wasn't doing this before, but I needed support from Apple who told me to 'Verify' the hard drive in disc utility.
    Please help!

CS4 was ready for retina displays? Are you sure?
    It wasn't doing this before
Do you mean before you got a higher resolution monitor?

    Thanks

you have to package the link folder also
