Vendor Credit Limit

Hi,
In SAP is there anything similar to credit limits in SD on the MM Side for Vendors? E.g. We might have a credit limit with a Vendor to spend up to £5,000 so if payments havn't been cleared on the AP side we should get an error message which will stop us buying from that Vendor until payments have been cleared or the Credit Limit has been increased?
Thanks
Adeel

hi,
thr is no ceeredit limit in MM,
normally we use Release startgy in MM,
but in ur case it is not workout...

  • Payment/Credit Limit for Vendors

    Hi SAP Gurus!
Is it possible to impose a maximum payment/credit limit for Vendors in SAP?
I saw in this forums that it can be done through Contracts but in the contracts, you have to enter a material. Is it possible that you don't have a material and the contract will encompass all the transactions of the vendor?\
Hope to hear from you soon!
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    You can make use of following Features of Contract w/o materials;
    Item Categories in Contracts: -
Just as with purchase orders, you can enter an item category to define the item as an external service item, a consignment item, a subcontracting item or as a free-form text item.
    Item Category M (Material Unknown)
Item category M is for entering contract items without specifying the material number.
Item category M is recommended for similar materials with the same price but with differing material numbers.
    Example
Consider a contract item for different types of office paper. The various types of paper have the same weight, quality, and price. However, they differ in the following respects: One type is lined, another is unlined, and another has two holes on the left side for filing purposes.
How Do You Use Item Category M?
In the case of items of category M, you enter the short text (short description), target quantity, unit of measure, and price. As soon as a contract release order is created, the material number or a short text is entered (e.g. the exact type of paper, say, two-hole punched). The system determines the net price on the basis of the gross price entered, less any discounts.
    Item Category W (Material Group)
Item category W allows you to enter a material group without entering the value or quantity of the contract item. Item category W is for value contracts only.
    Example
Consider a contract for cable. The contract covers every type of cable on the vendor's price list. The exact type of cable is known only at the time a specific cable is ordered.
Instead of entering an item for every type of cable the vendor is able to supply, you could enter item category W and the material group (say, CABLE). The short text would indicate that the contract item covers all types of cable supplied by the vendor.
Each release order issued against this contract would then specify the actual type and quantity of cable (for example, double-shielded coax, 1 spool) as well as the price.
How Do You Use Item Category W?
When you create the contract item, enter the item category W, the short text, and the material group. You do not enter a price or conditions for the item. However, it is possible to specify conditions in the document header. For example, you can enter a discount in the header conditions if the vendor grants a discount on all Pos relating to the contract. The discount is automatically taken into account when the release order is created.
You can enter a material number in the contract release order. The corresponding material master record must be assigned to the same material group specified in the referenced contract item. If the release order does not have a material number, then it must contain a valid account assignment, such as a cost center.

  • Can v set credit limit for a vendor? if so, how?

can v set credit limit for a vendor? if so, how?

    Hello
the two replies are correct that the redit limit is always used for customers. but i can give you the scenario as per the request and Amrita please correct me if i am making something wrong.
as per vendors there are three to four vendors are available for buying a material. we are not using quota arrangement but we just distribute the order based on the situations. the order is given to a vendor who is quoting low price, giving the required quality and quantity and supplying as per our need. there is one more criteria for choosing this vendor. the outstanding balance for this vendor should not cross some limit.
the limit may be based on negotiations and the some contracts' terms and conditions.
the solution for this may be that there should be one report where you can see how much we owe to each vendor. this could be possible only when we know the Vendor g/l account and the corresponding balances.
i think i have cleared the credit idea as well as given the solution. please reward if found it helpful.

  • What credit limit is valid - the one set at Vendor master , PO or invoice ?

    Dear Friends,
I want your suggestions, if weather there is any standard guidelines on which credit limit is followed if I maintain different values at Vendor master, purchase order and at Invoice level
Looking forward for your thoughts ?

There is no credit limit for vendors, as we buy goods from vendor and not sell it to them
There are release strategies in MM. Please clarify your setup.

  • AP-Credit Memo-Clear Vendor/Credit Memo

Hi all, I am facing Problem during Vendor Credit memo, Clear it (F-44), and Manual Check using F-58
Can I have different Due date For Vendor Credit memo , as I can see we have different Payment terms in Master data but whenever I post it gives the Due date as Immediate but if I see Open item report it says not Due and shows the Payment terms and the net due dates. Is this Normal?
I would like to clear the credit memo using the F-44 with reference to another open line item but system says Difference is too large for clearing.
The third thing I am trying to issue manual check I gave details, as per "J03_AP_CreditMemo_BPP_EN_US", when I hit Process open Items "system is not allowing to post document getting error "Select a valid function"".
Any Ideas How to deal with the above 3 situations?
    Sandhya.

    Hi,
    To answer few queries,
Data can be entered in the field for the terms of payment key in various ways as you enter a business transaction:
In most business transactions, the system defaults the key specified in the master record of the customer/vendor in question.
In some transactions (for example, credit memos), however, the system does not default the key from the master record. Despite this, you can use the key from the customer/vendor master record by entering "*" in the field.
Regardless of whether or not a key is defaulted from the master record, you can manually enter a key during document entry at:
item level in sales orders header level in purchase orders and invoices
    F-44--clearing problem
If the amount of open item is not equal to clearing amount you enter and the difference is not with in the tolerance limit you specify in the configuration, you will face this error. If the whole amount of open item need not be cleared, then try partial payment/residual payment  options.
The third situation I am not clear.
    Thanks

  • Customer Group wise credit limit

    Dear Gurus,
Please inform the process of maintaining credit limit based on customer group. In the customer master we have customer group  feild in sales data used for grouping based on industry type and in general data control data we have customer group which can be used as well, can any one inform the difference between these two in the credit management usage.
    Thanks
    Srinivas

    Hi,
I am not sure about maintaining Credit Limit based on a customer Group. The mere purpose of the customer Group is to Identify a particular group of customers (for example, wholesale or
retail) for the purpose of pricing or generating statistics. Where as  An industry is a distinct group of companies with the same basic  business activity. The industry key is used in selecting data for
evaluations (for example, a vendor master data list). You can specify  industries such as trade, banking, service, manufacturing, health care,  public service, media and so on. Credit Management will be based on the following Criteria.
credit Group assigned to the sales document type
    Risk category
    Customer Credit Limit.
Kindly please let me know If you need any more Information.

  • Making Customer Credit Limit (FD32) a sensitive field

I am wondering if it is possible to mark customer credit limit (field KNKK-KLIMK) which you enter by using T-Code FD32 a sensitive field for dual control? If so, I request for detailed steps as I have been trying to do so but could not succeed. Please guide me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Moazzam

    Moazzam,
you can have sensitive field only for Vendor and Customers Master Data (FK09 and FD09). If you want define FD32 fields for another user approbation you must create a User Exit or install a workflow.

  • Free Goods Sales Order  for Charities with Credit Limit

    Dear All
I have a scenario where POS (Point of Sales) has been implemented, the process of POS is ok,but the requirement of the client is they are giving some goods to charity, when ever a person comes with a special card (Issued by the company) the outlet will create a sales order for the same without any charges with a credit limit of 1000 SAR (saudi arabian riyal).
    Requirement
    1) Creation of sales order with delivering goods but without any charges.(should have effect in Stock)
2)These charities is been treated as Customer with a credit limit of SAR 1000 (whenever the credit limit exceeds system should block the order)
how this scenario can be mapped in SD,
    Thanks in advance
    Malik

    Dear Malik
keep the process regular, which will help in blocking the charity customer when reached 1000 SAr at order level itself.
As customer need to be shown that he  is not charged.
you can work on changing the display of output determination .
You can take the help of Ababer and display what ever client is asking for.
I think  this may solve your query without disturbing you regular business process.

  • Does Simple Credit Limit Check Include Checking for Open Orders

    Hi all,
I have this issue here where I have configured the system to use simple credit limit check with error message. I did not use the standard/common automatic credit limit check since user insist on a pop-up warning and that the order could not be saved. But, I realized that it does not take open orders into account too although I have set the risk categories. Is it true and what solution is there for this issue then.
Thank you for all your help in inputs.
    Regards,

    Hi,
Please follow the below configuration settings for Simple credit check process.
Simple credit check: In simple credit check the system compares the credit exposure with payers credit limit. The
credit exposure results from the total of the net document value and the value of the open items.
We can set the following system responses at when the credit limit has been reached.
    A u2013Warning message

create customer master in XD01 transaction code.
 Specify reconciliation account number (GL account number)

  • Credit Limit based on Open Items only.

    Dear Friends,
Is it possible to set credit limit based on Open Items only ( Document Type RV)
If the credit limit is crossed for accounting documents not yet cleared, then system should allow creating sales order, but block any deliveries further.
Just to add this, we are using Oldest Open Item, to make sure system blocks deliveries if even one Billing document is overdue for payment.

    AT FD32,
For respective customers Credit Limit should be made 99999999....(i.e maximum)
Goto OVA8. Select the respective Credit Control area, Risk category & Customer Group.
    tick-> OpenItems
Max.Open items 100% and Nodays Open here you can maintain the grace days (after the payment term limit expires) is allowed to do the transaction for respective customer.
if grace days are '0', then as soon as payment term limit is expires system will block the transactions selected.

    Hi,
Open items check means it will consider all the open items when it is doing credit check. Here it adds all the open items amount and do the credit check..
Oldest open item means it will consider only the oldest open item and based on tht i will do credit check..Here i will check the oldest open item value and its date then do the credit check..
Coming to payment terms check, system is responding correctly.. because payment terms are immed due net. tht means still time is there in the same day. that is the reason it is not blocking the second document.
once move to 2nd day then it means first doc is not cleared tht is the reason it is blocking the 2 nd doc on 2nd doc..
    Hope u have understand..

  • Static credit check: credit limit exceeded for consignment issue delivery

    Hi,
We are encountering a credit limit exceeded error in delivery creation for a consignment issue.
In SPRO config "Credit limit check for order types", no credit limit check is assigned to the order type. However, there is one assigned for the delivery type. Also, for CCAr/Risk cat./CG combination in OVA8 (Auto Credit Block Delivery), static credit check has been activated with error message reaction. Open orders and open deliveries were also activated. Customer exceeded credit exposure but user cannot release the order in any VKMx transactions as no credit limit check is assigned to the order type.
Given that this is the current setup, and the following conditions:
    1. Credit limit for the customer cannot be increased
    2. Oldest open item cannot be cleared just yet
Is there any way that we can proceed with delivery creation for this customer? The other order types have credit limit check so credit management team was able to release them. However, we are unsure on how to proceed with this consignment order. Kindly advise and thank you in advance for your help.

We are encountering a credit limit exceeded error in delivery creation for a consignment issue.
but user cannot release the order in any VKMx transactions as no credit limit check is assigned to the order type.
Looks contradictory and it may need to run report RVKRED77 to reorganization of open credit values. Try to run the report in test system and then run in production system. After running the report, the use must be able to release in VKM* transaction.

  • Static Credit Limit Check for Sales Orders - Net Value vs Credit Value

We are testing order credit check and we have run into a problem with the Static Credit Limit Check.  The Static Credit Limit Check is set to use both Order and Delivery Values.  SAP uses the values in S066 and S067 to determine what values it uses to check against the credit limit.  Standard SAP uses the confirmed quantity times the credit price to get the order values - this is the credit value.
So the problem is, once an order is released it is set up so it does not go back on credit hold, so anything which is not confirmed (but could be) it a potential credit value which is unaccounted for in the credit exposure and the customer can go over the credit limit.
Additionally, we run AFS and have items which are rejected with a J0 rejection code (unconfirmed) which have the potential of being confirmed and shipped and we want to include these items in the value of the order which is being checked against the credit limit (along with the deliveries, invoices and receivables).
    Here is a quick example.
Customer has a credit limit of $100 (no deliveries, invoices or receivables - to keep it simple)
Order 1 is placed with a credit value of $50.00 but a potential value of $100 (the other half is J0) - this passes the credit check since $50.00 is less than the limit.
Order 2 is placed for $50.00 and has a credit value of $50.  This also gets approved.
At this point, the credit limit used is 100% (based on standard SAP)
Then Order1 backorder is confirmed and the new credit value is now $100.  This order now puts the customer over their limit and if the order had been released would not go back on credit hold and therefore the customer is not over their credit limit by 50%.
What I want is for Order1 to be credit checked for the $100 not the $50 so the exposure is correct.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we could use the Net Value of the order to perform the static credit check?  And any thoughts on how to determine the correct credit exposure (open order value plus items which are J0, plus deliveries, plus invoices, plus receivables)?
I am thinking about a Z table to track the adjusted values on the orders and then use one of the customer checks to do a static credit check with the adjusted value.  And for the exposure, use the adjusted value to recalculate the values in F.35 to show a more accurate view of the credit exposure.
Does anyone have an easier way to do this?  Any advice is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Suzanne

    Hi Suzzane,
In the scenario that you have provided, in the first order items worth 50$ are rejected. Hence standard SAP will not take this into account as this item is rejected. Two solutions can be provided here:
    1) The line item can have a delivery block instead of  a reason for rejection. This way the 50$ will get accounted. However, if this is against customer norms as this will appear in the order acknowledgment, this cannot be used.
    2) User exit can be used where a credit check can be triggered once the document value changes, even though the document has a released status.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Vinu
