When I open whattsapp, facebook or other apps which are allowed to use my push notifications there is a problem. I need to connect to itunes. is there any way I can fix this?

You will need to connect the iPad to the computer's iTunes that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the iPad and restore/re-sync your content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) - you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode in order to be able to reset it : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If you do it via a different computer then :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

Al een tijdje krijg ik, als ik een app wil aanschaffen of apps wil updaten na het inloggen de melding: Verbinding met iTunes Store mislukt.
Het is heel lastig. Mijn Apple id is goed, maar toch verschijnt deze melding op mijn iPhone en op mijn Ipad.
In een telefoonwinkel adviseerde men mij contact op te nemen met Apple Nederland. Mijn iTunes account zou gereset moeten worden.
Mijn vraag is nu: Wie kan mij helpen?

Ik had hetzelfde probleem; inloggen in de appstore mislukte zonder duidelijke reden.
De oplossing van Ozzynl geprobeerd, maar dat werkte niet.
Vervolgens in instellingen geprobeerd om daar mn apple ID opnieuw in te vullen( dus door uit te loggen).
Ook dit lukte vervolgens niet om me opnieuw in de instellingen aan te melden.
Vervolgens heb ik mijn iPad gereset (home knop + startknop boven op), waarnaar ik wederom geprobeerd heb om in mijn instellingen met mijn apple ID opnieuw in te loggen. Dit maal lukte het wel, en vervolgens lukte het ook om weer apps te downloaden in de app store!
Oplossing die voor mij werkte was dus simpelweg mijn iPad resetten!

Verbinding met App Store mislukt.

Ik heb een probleem met de app store en itunes store op mijn Ipad, bijna iedere keer als ik de App Store open krijg ik de melding Verbinding met App Store mislukt, heel soms opent hij wel gewoon de App Store maar als ik vervolgens iets wil downloaden uit de App Store en ik dan vervolgens mijn Apple ID en wachtwoord heb in gevuld gebeurd er niks en krijg ik gewoon weer te zien wat de app kost.
Ik heb al geprobeerd in te loggen op mijn Apple ID via Instellingen > Itunes en App Store. maar als ik dan op 'Log In' druk na het invullen van mijn gegevens
veranderd alleen de tekst kleur terug naar grijs verder gebeurd er weer niks.
Ik heb ook geprobeerd mijn ipad opnieuw op te starten maar dit helpt allemaal niet.
Ik hoop dat iemand een oplossing weet.

Verbinding met youtube mislukt

Als ik mijn originele youtube app probeer te openen krijg ik de melding "verbinding met youtube mislukt". De iPhone is nog gee week oud en is eem vervanging voor een oud toestel, waarvan ik een reservekopie heb geïnstalleerd.
Als ik whatsapp opstart krijg ik de melding "open iTunes om pushberichtgeving te gebruiken" ik krijg ook geen meldingen van nieuwe berichten tot ik whatsapp handmatig open.
Soft/hard resets werken niet en apps opnieuw installeren ook niet. Kan iemand mij helpen?

ITunes blijft hangen op: Verbinden met Apple TV

Hallo,
Zodra ik in iTunes rechtsonder mijn Apple TV aanklik om via daar af te spelen, blijft hij maar op de melding : Verbinden met Apple TV , staan en gebeurd er daarna niks en krijg ik geen verbinding.
Eerste 2 dagen deed hij het maar daarna heeft hij het niet meer gedaan.
Andere apparaten zoals iPhone, iPod en iPad 2 doen het wel en kan ook via Apple TV in de iTubes bibliotheek maar dus niet van de iMac iTunes bibliotheek naar Apple TV.
Waaraan kan dit liggen?

I managed to transfer the music from 1 pc to 1 other pc (to be played by iTunes). Bit didn't fixe the transfer of the meta data (for example the rating). Does anyone know how to use your old playlists, etc..(= meta data) on the other PC? So, please help!

I managed to transfer the music from 1 pc to 1 other pc (it is played perfectly on the other PC (Windows 7- pc) by the newly downloaded and installed iTunes, version 10.6.1.7). But I didn’t fix the transfer of the meta data (for example the rating). Does anyone know how to use (or import) your old playlists, etc..(= meta data) on the other PC? So, short: how to migrate the meta data from one pc to an other pc?
It's a pity that it seems not to be possible to import on the new pc e.g. the ratings!!!
I don't want to start again with rating my (beautiful classical) music!

Can No Longer Edit Song Meta Data In Latest iTunes 11.1???

I just discovered that since the update to version 11.1 I can no longer manually edit the meta data by using the Show info function, all options are greyed out. For instance I can no longer adjust the volume level on a song nor can I edit the fields for song title and artist tec. There is also no longer any tab for album art when using the Show Info function on a song that has no album cover art. On songs that already have an album cover there will be an album art tab but the options there are all greyed out so I can not change the album cover art if I wanted too. This really *****, I can no longer edit album cover art for songs that have another cover already and I can not add any cover picture at all for songs that have no cover art (unless I manage to get the cover from the iTunes store but that is very often not successfull).
Another bug I found is that I can no longer add any video file to my playlists.
So this new update really ***** for me and have ruined my itunes experience.
Do anyone else in here have the same problem?
I really hope Apple will fix these bugs as soon as possible!

I think I finally found a solution to this problem. It appears that for some reason, some songs you download will maintain write protection that the original owner had set on his/hers computer. In my case for this Ellie Goulding album that I had problem with, it turned out my friend who gave it to me had some of the songs stored on his iPad and that caused the files to become write protected it seems, and this write protection was transfered over to my PC. To solve this issue, everytime you encounter a song in iTunes that you can not edit just right click it and select Show/View In Explorer, that will take you to the storage location of the file in question. Now right click the song and select Properties and see if it is write protected, if it is then just uncheck that option and click ok. Now you should be able to edit the meta data for that song again. So it appears this is not a bug in iTunes but rather a write protection issue.

"hybrid" color found in iTunes's "Devices - iPod" usage meter

Hi there,
I don't believe this is a quirk with iTunes, but it still eludes me nonetheless. I noticed it this morning for the first time when disconnecting my iPod.
Granted, we have that handy color-coded usage meter showing how much storage space we have left on the iPod (click on the iPod icon under the Devices tab in the sidebar if you are unsure what I'm referencing), along with the type of media occupying the used space and each having its own unique color: blue for music, yellow for photos, purple for video, orange for the mysterious "other", etc.
This morning, I noticed for the first time that I have a strange indigo-colored section, spliced somewhere between where the music (blue) and video (purple) are indicated.
The only thing I could possibly equate this to was space allocated for "Music Videos" (the obvious hybrid between Music and Video).
I couldn't come up with any effective search results on the board - I was curious if some Level 3+'s noticed this, and could shed some light on what indigo could indicate.
(FYI - I would love to have provided a screenshot, but I am at work at the moment)

Never did get a solid answer on this one, but judging from the fact that others out there see this indigo in the iPod spectrum, I'm going to say that it is from Music Videos.
I'm going to leave this one as unanswered until I'm daring enough (or bored enough, depending upon your point of view...) to delete the Music Videos from my iPod and see if the color changes.

Like beaniespike and yourselves...I've tried everything to install itunes on my PC Vista Home Premium 32 bit system. Had older version of itunes running well on it but then just bought Ipod and hooked it up and was told to upgrade by uninstalling old version and reinstalling new version..oops..then the nightmares

Disconnected all firewalls and antivirus and even uninstalled them with Revo..
with that effort..I then used winrar to extract to a file and manually install each piece..
all load EXCEPT Apple Application Support..but only if I do it manually..
Quicktime had to be manually installed.
Changed RegSZ to 0xFFFFFF value..still same error An error occurred during the installation of assembly policy 8.0 microsoft VC80. CRT, type =..blah, blah blah..ending HRESULT.... in middle of install..then at end error Apple Application Support not found error 2.
Whew..sooOO frustrated! Have Visual C++ 2005..am having trouble installing upgrades to it..
Windows Installer likes to quit alot..not sure how to fix that..urgh
Want to trash Ipod and itunes all together since finding solution that works for 2 days straight has been in vain!

When I change my meta data in iTunes why does it not get displayed in Sonos or MediaMonkey

Hello,
I noticed that when I change the meta data in iTunes for example by right clicking an album -> get info and than change the Genre of the album and than click OK . It takes the changes in iTunes but I have a Sonos System and when I update my music library the changes are not being displayed . When I now put the album in MediaMonkey I also can not see the genre change . This used to work back in the days .
Did iTunes change anything in regards to handling and saving meta data ? iTunes does not seem to save the information in the file anymore ?

I solved my problem. Here's how:
1. Right click iTunes and click properties from the "Windows 8 Desktop" (or if you want to call it the 7 desktop thats fine too)
2. Select the compatibility tab.
3. Set compatibility mode to Windows 7 and click apply.
4. Open iTunes, sign into iTunes store, Turn on iTunes Match, Add your computer.
5. Close Program
6. Restart Computer

What is the "Relevance" meter in iTunes store?

Our show is about Fantasy Football. If you search the iTunes store for Fantasy Football, you'll see that our popularity "meter" is pretty strong but why is the "relevance" meter so low? How do we get that higher? What does it mean?

Well, it's probably a bunch of Apple voodoo that calculates those high scores, but...
Do you have any keywords listed in the channel info and item info sections of your RSS feed? If not, start there.
Next, you might want to expand the text for the show description. Make it longer than 6 words, and try to fit "fantasy football" in there a few times (it's only in there once right now). Maybe mention who the hosts are, and why people should care about them.
I don't know if it really matters, but it may help to fit "fantasy football" in each of the episode desriptions. Think of this as optimizing your website so that search engines will hit on certain keywords.

I use Windows XP. The problem now is that on two consecutive occasions when I open iTunes it either says the library is corrupt and creates a new one or will not load a previous one from the file. All my meta data and 2K songs are "missing".

Can I recreate my proper library with its 8700+ songs and a load of meta data from the iPod. Since two upgrades ago iTunes, for me, has become very unreliable.
