Verisign dialogue box locking up Acrobat Reader

Hello,
We have a laptop in the officie running XP Pro. We installed the full Adobe Suite on it for a user. The suite was un-installed when the user left, and the laptop loaned to a new employee. We installed Acrobat Reader 10.3 onto the laptop.
When the user attempts to open a PDF on this laptop, he gets a dialogue box saying "connecting to Verisign". When he hits escape to cncel this, Acrobat Reader becomes unusable, IE it locks up.
Can anyone help us get out of this situation?
Thank You

Possibly, the old user had a verisign plug-in for Reader/Acrobat installed that is still on the system. I don't know it's exact name but try one of the following options:
- Look for relevant Verisign product in control panel and see if uninstalling that would help.
- See the plug-ins folder in Reader installation (C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\plug_ins) and see if you have a plug-in from Verisign.
- Uninstall Reader. Delete the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\ and re-install Reader.

  • Displaying trim box size with Acrobat Reader

I am looking for a way to have Acrobat Reader display Trim Box size. We have many Customer Service Reps and Sales people who receive PDFs from clients and cannot tell what the Trim Box size is except for asking me. I have Acrobat Pro and can easily find the information, but I am tired of being constantly asked. It does not make sense for all them to have Acrobat Pro.  Any help is appreciated.

You need to Reader-enable the document, which allows Reader to do things it normally cannot. In Acrobat 9, you'd select: Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader
In Acrobat 8 it's something different but very similar. Note that some people have reported problems when trying to use an enabled document in a different version of Reader than the version of Acrobat that was used to enable the document.

  • Dialogue box too big to read

I have a new problem. I composed an email and blind copied everyone in my address book to tell them of my new email address. It gave me a dialogue message that said "Cannot send message using the server..." Well, I can live with that, but I can't clear the error message because it lists all of the contacts in such a way that the dialogue box extends below the bottom of the monitor. The message is grayed out so I can't delete it. The boxes that would allow me to click "try again, or cancel, etc" are not in view.
By using the zoom out feature (command -) nothing happens on it.
Mail has to be force quit to exit, yet upon re-opening, the error message is still there and still stuck.
    Any over ride known????????

Try pressing "esc" for cancel, or "return" for try again-that is the normal dialog box behavior, and it should work well for you.
    Good luck!

  • Can we customize the Save As dialogue box in Acrobat DC?

I was wondering if there is already a way we can customize the new DC Save As dialogue box.
I would love to be able to open directly to "Choose a Different Folder" without going through this extra dialogue box (I understand the appeal of it, but it's not optimal for my workflow). Or perhaps, if I could customize the options under "Storage" (e.g. adding our own database folders "Posters", "Documents", etc, or maybe just pulling the "Favorites" folders from Windows explorer)
I get the decision to have document cloud and creative cloud as default options. That's great for sharing and collaborating on documents, but I'm just managing too many documents and too large of a database. In my situation it's just, well, sub-optimal.
I'm on Windows 7 running Adobe CC Group.

OMG, I've been having this same exact thought since the first time I went to do a Save As ever since upgrading to Acrobat DC.
    (Mac OS X Yosemite here.)
I find it so ridiculous to have to go through this extra step with every single "Save As."
    Example:
    1. Open our job ticket template PDF (for billing a project), which is in a "Company Templates" folder on my computer.
    2. Fill in the details/time for that project.
    3. Select "Save As" to save the job ticket to my project folder (different location).
    4. Have to click "Save to a different folder" every single time.
"Save As" is nearly always going to be for saving a new version of a file to a different location, so I don't understand why there is now this extra step. It's just unnecessary IMO.
So, to quote Will Riker: "Yes. Absolutely. I do indeed concur... wholeheartedly!"

  • No show-up of a dialogue box again for me to enter S/N of Acrobat 9 Pro;and pic distort in Photoshop

    I have two problems:
    1. The Acrobat 9 Pro is a separate DVD and I did again just insert this DVD. Still no dialogue box appears for me to enter the serial number (even though I have got the
        serial number) for installing. I fail to install Acrobat 9 Pro;
    2. Another problem is that what ever picture I open in PhotoShop, the picture is fragmented and distorted (as shown in the attachment of my previous email).
    Your advice, please.

  • Click on download of pdf opens adobe acrobat reader, but then clicking on file save-as does not give a dialog box to change the name or location where it is sav

    Using Firefox 19.02
When I receive an email with an Excel, Word, or PDF file attachment, and I click download, firefox opens up the associated program for all my users, however when you click on file>save-as you are not presented with the dialog box to perform a save.
Excel and Word, no fix at all. Other than different browser or to click download, right click and go to folder, and then copy it out of there to another folder and open it.
Help, what is going on here????

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader displaying boxes in place of dashes

My company is having an issue with Word documents that have dashes and are converted to PDF.  On the resulting PDF when viewed with Acrobat Reader, the dashes are being displayed as boxes instead of dashes.  This is causing an issue with an OCR application that one of our clients is using resulting in the document to show as blank after the first box is encountered.
I have searched for possible reasons why this could be happening and I have not been successful.
Most of our users utilize Nuance PDF Create 7.0 and some still use Amyuni PDF Converter 2.1 to convert their Word documents to PDF.  I have tried to replicate this and have not been able to.  I have used Word 2003, 2007 and 2010 along with each PDF converter listed above as well as Adobe Acrobat reader version 9.1.0, 9.3.0 and 10.1.6 to view the PDFs.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
    Thank you.

What wiki? What 64-bit version of Adobe reader (there isn't one AFAIK)?
Please be more informative in your questions. Better yet, search before asking, which should lead you to the well-known conclusion that Adobe does not have a 64-bit reader for linux (yet).

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader XI v11.0.07 shows grey boxes

Having downloaded the Free reader on a new install of Windows 7 Pro I am finding that most of the PDF's that I have and could view before are now showing as grey boxes. These are PDF's that I have saved on my PC and they are viewed on my PC. I do not use IE at all - never use it... I use Google Chrome as my browser and this is set to use Chrome PDF rather than the adobe add-in.

    Acrobat Reader XI v11.0.07

    Pat Willener,
    Good morning,
I used only the "ADOBE READER XI (11.0.07) - Portuguese" (1).
Commented on the ACROBAT (2) only to illustrate that, like (1), do not
change the original (confirmed by you).
If I have spreadsheet templates and documents to use and change data,
    could not use pdf.
This program (1), it seems that is only in one direction without reversing.
Sorry if I insist, it is very important for me to know.
Grateful for the willingness to help.

    Hi Margot ,
You can click on accept or buy ,which ever option you see on that dialog box.It will prompt you to type in your Adobe Credentials. You can license it by doing the same.
If it still doesn't work ,follow these steps and see how it goes .
Delete all the files from following folders:
    [Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLStore
    [Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLCache
And, delete all files from following folder except cache.db
    [Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AdobePCD
Then launch Acrobat and try to activate and check.

  • Acrobat Reader DC - Bug with Dialog Boxes Containing Images?

    Hi all -
Been testing Reader DC.  Only took a couple of minutes to adjust to the new interface; pretty slick and intuitive.
Noticed a potential issue that I wanted to warn/share/prob solve with the community.
I was putting Reader DC through it's paces with a XFA PDF that has some dialog boxes, some of which even had images in them.  (Thanks again to BR001.)
The dialog boxes with images look great on Acrobat & Reader 9/10/11 (WIN & MAC) - images are clear; no pixelation.
Reader DC on MAC appears to be fine - resolution looks the same.
But Reader DC on WIN - the images are now pixelated. Especially around the edges, characters/numbers, etc.  You can tell something is "off" with the image.
A few simple side-by-side tests can be seen at links below.  Reader DC is on left; Acrobat 9 (9.5.5) is on right.
    Green smiley face: Dropbox - icon differences.PNG (83 x 83)
    Lightroom image: Dropbox - Lightroom Image - Comparison Test.PNG (225 x 132)
Reader DC banner image: Dropbox - Reader DC Banner--- Comparison test.PNG  *MOST VISIBLE ON THIS EXAMPLE (ironically) (422 x 45)
Simple banner with words image: Dropbox - Simple Banner - comparison test.PNG (342 x 100)

Bug in Reader DC for Windows? Not sure what else the cause could be...
Anyone having their dialog boxes with images open in Reader DC for Windows WITHOUT the pixelation?
    FYI/thoughts/ideas/suggestions/confirmations?  Hmmm.....

I too have been having this issue since about 12/14.  That is around the same time I got the Ipad for my kids.  I am unsure if it is related.  I have tried logging out of icloud/deleting it and trying again.  Removing most of the apps to sync.  I reset my router.  All of the attempts have produced zero results.  I will be anxiously watching this thread for some help.  Good luck to you also
