Verizon will try to screw you watch out

Feb my daughter moved and went out on her own.  I called to cancel her line.  The boy I talked to told me to put it on vacation because I might need the line foe another device.  I told him I didn't have nor would I have another device.  Cancel the line.  It was canceled and off my bill until last month and then it shows back up with a $130 charge.  I called Verizon and the guy told me it came off of vacation.  Told him I wanted it canceled not on vacation from the start.  I am not going to pay for a line that was supposed to be canceled and was not used.  He said he would make sure it was cancelled and have the charges for that line removed.  I was notified it was canceled but they will not remove the charges.  I have tried to call and I can never get a live person.  I have been a Verizon customer since they first started.  Verizon is the only wireless carrier I have ever used and they treat me like this.  They know I canceled that line in Feb.  They stopped billing me for it.  Well tomorrow I go sign up with a new carrier.  Twice I was told that the line was canceled.  I am not going to pay for charges for something I did not have or use. Verizon your customer service is awful and you have no loyalty to long time customers.  I know I mean nothing to you I am just another customer you are losing and you don't even care.  Just like the rest of corporate America screw as many customers as you can and don't worry about the ones that call you on it.  Just ignore them.

    Hey guys, I would just like to remind all of you that there are still people that you don't know that will try to get you do bad things. Just about an hour ago, two different users randomly started mesessing me and adding me to their contacts. One said that he was bored in college, wanting me to video call him. The other wanted to click on a random link to "like a friends video" on some link I didn't know. Of course I said no to both and declined both then blocked them. So if something like this happens to you and you dont reconize their name, don't click on links, don't give any information, and definantly dont accept request or calls.

    That is just a coincidence, that I picked for user name!

Do not get strung along like I did by calling in and letting them try to fix anything-they are there to make sure you get past your 14 day return period so you are locked into a new 2 year contract and can’t take back any of the accessories you bought for your product. If your product does not work out of the box, RETURN IT IMMEDIATELY, do not call in for tech support and take back any accessories you bought for the product as it also has the 14 day policy too. First off let me say that as far as the PHONE SERVICE, it has been great…however…here is what I have experienced with the 3G Droid Bionic and Verizon. I decided to get the Droid Bionic 4G since they are supposed to have 4G service in my area. It’s either their service or the product that is not 100% 4G like my 3G HTC Imagio is 100% 3G, the so called "4G" Bionic flips in and out. I can’t count how many hours I’ve been on the phone with techs at Verizon and Moto but each time, they all had something different to say, but nothing ever worked and if it did, it didn’t work for long before it went back to the same flip flop. There were several other issues as well but too many to list, but one is that when I was tethered and would get a notification it disconnected from the internet...NOT SUPPOSE TO HAPPEN. I had a specific need for the 4G and since it doesn’t work, I don’t NEED it. The biggest lie I bought into is that MOTO is/was supposed to release a software update that is supposed to fix the flip flop 3G to 4G. I talked to a tech tonight at Verizon that was honest enough to tell me that if there was one that was going to be released (within my 14 day period) that they would have been notified of that. Well guess what, he doesn’t have any notices. But every person I talked to at Verizon said there was going to be an update, is it another one of those…no one knows their butt from a hole in the grown or was he telling the truth. Well it makes sense now that when I was talking with the second level tech at MOTO he didn’t know what the heck I was talking about. There’s your proof that the people you call and talk to at Verizon are devious, deceptive jerks and are only out to make money off us and could really care less that you just spent a bundle of money on a piece of cow dung and that their only goal is to keep you tied into the 2 year contract. After talking with the last tech at Verizon that told me there was no notification of a software update coming from MOTO or at least not in the next two weeks, I decided to take back all my accessories to the Verizon store in my area and return the Bionic tomorrow. But guess what, unlike the rest of America where the return policies are 30 days, Verizon also changed the return policies on the accessories too. So I’m stuck with over $100 of “STUFF” that cannot be used on any other phone. My bad, I didn’t have my reading glasses, look 12 inches down the long small print page to see that it said 14 days, when I bought the “STUFF” and I didn’t know that Verizon’s changes applied to the accessories in there stores too. Why is this and issue because Verizon did have me buy another Bionic phone under a new 14 day policy but because I didn’t realize that same policy applied to the hardware at their local stores, I’m stuck with the “STUFF”. Guess what Verizon; you devious, deceptive jerks, what goes around comes around. You are going to get to know me real well in the coming days, weeks, months and years; I’m going to picket until the freakin cows come home and hopefully get on the local news channels too. I’m going to hopefully create a nationwide movement that will either ruin your company or force you to restore the 30 day policy and I don’t care if you try to sue me that will be even better as it will draw even more attention. Money is hard to come by these days and I’ll not let you screw me over like this and get away with it. Because you are treating your customers like cow dung, I WILL NEVER extend my contract again; when this contact ends I’m switching to another cell provider. I’ve been with you since 2004 but tomorrow I’m switching my family’s phones over as soon as possible since they are not under any contract; this I hope will catch on and others will do the same. We can support the other companies and help them grow so that they can also provide better cell service and then we the people will have a choice, NOT TO GET SCREWED.   • Verizon Navigator: Watch out for wrong directions!

    If you downloaded Verizon Navigator, watch out!  Make sure the directions are accurate before you start your trip!
    I tried to use Verizon Navigator on a trip last week, to return to Raleigh Durham airport from Wilmington, NC.  My starting address was in Wilmington, on a standard residential street.  (Not a dirt road or unusual location.)  My destination was RDU -- the Raleigh Durham Airport -- also a well-known address on I40.
    Navigator worked fine during the week for trips around Wilmington, so I thought there would not be a problem with the return to RDU.  Wrong!  Navigator sent me on a wild goose chase up Route 421.  When I reached the junction with Route 17 (with a sign "To I40"), Navigator told me, "Make a legal U-turn then drive 52 miles..."  At that point, I knew Navigator was lost.  So I took Route 17 to I-40 -- and switched to Google Maps. 
    This round-about trip up 421 and back to I40 ran through central Wilmington, which wasted 45+ minutes.  I almost missed my flight at RDU.
    If you decide to use Verizon Navigator, be sure to check the directions and route before you start!

    Look, not only can you get incorrect information from a Verizon rep, odds are that if you call three different reps with the same question, you will get three different answers - and all three could be wrong.
    I called once because activating a new phone had knocked a promo off my account (after I had been assured it wouldn't when I signed up and extended my contract). The first rep told me I couldn't have the promo back, that it was physically impossible to put the code back on my account as the system wouldn't allow it. I hung up and called right back, and rep number 2 said, "No problem," and had it back on in two minutes.
    This same rep then told me that the promo was only valid for 12 months, then I'd go back to regular price. When I had signed up and extended my contract, I was assured that the promo would continue the entire two years ( I asked repeatedly). Hung up again, got another rep who told me it would last the entire contract. Asked for a supervisor, who put me on hold for 5 minutes, then came back  to tell me it would stay in effect until I changed plans (beyond 2 years if I stay with the same plan)
    Three reps, three answers. And don't bother asking them to send you their answer in writing - they will NOT under any circumstances put their words down in writing. They will offer to notate it in your account, but who knows if they actually do. And, how can you prove it's there if the issue arises?

    Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues with the receiver on your iPhone 4. The following resource may help to resolve your issue:

    Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    1. Increase the volume during the call.
    2. Make sure nothing is blocking the receiver. If you're using a protective case or display film, remove it and try again.
    3. Make sure nothing is plugged into the headphone jack or the dock connector.
    4. Check the receiver opening to see if it is clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush.
    5. Try another location with better signal. If the audio issue happens only when on a call, it could be due to the location.
    6. If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or a car kit, try turning off Bluetooth on your device. Learn more about troubleshooting Bluetooth connections.
    7. Restart the iPhone.
    8. Make sure your device is up to date.
    9. If the issue is not resolved after restoring the iPhone software, contact Apple Support.

  • Watch out for Verizon Pricing Scam

    If you get a letter indicating Verizon will lock you into a price for 2 years plus give you a $120 prepaid card if you sign up for an additional 2 years ignore it as it is a scam. To obtain it you must upgrade to their higher speed package which will cost you at least $20 more per month. They also have a plan where you can downgrade your speed and that only costs $10 more per month than what you are paying.
    Check Time Warner or Comcast. They have more competitive pricing. As soon as my contract expires I will be switching. Verizon has priced itself out of the market.

    I agree. If you were receiving a warranty replacement, you should not have been credited for the return and then charged for a new phone. There should not be any charges at all involved.
    This sounds as if it was treated as a return instead of a warranty replacement.

    That file might have moved to a different location on the server. I think you'll need to check with RefWorks support or your local IT department on why the install page links do not work.

  • Netflix HD with out the "HD" and knowing what tv episodes you watched.

    No I don't mean that Apple TV2 doesn't show Netflix in HD, Netflix HD content looks fine. However I think this might be an oversight, but there is no "HD" badge for HD content on Netflix. Not that I'm an HD snob or anything, but it's nice to be able to pick movies on Netflix that are high def. Any chance this will come in an upcoming firmware update?
    Another oversight is on both the Xbox 360 and the Wii tv shows you watch on Netflix at least tell you what percentage of a tv show (or movie) you watched. This is helpful in keeping track of where you left off in a television series. Unfortunately Apple TV isn't showing any such data, so you could get lost easily if you don't remember which television episodes you watched last with in a tv series. Even the blue dot / half dot used for podcasts would be useful, but not having a marker is extremely inconvenient.

    I would expect it to come in the future by update. Apple always seems to be more concerned with appearance over content or function in initial releases. Take the iPad for example... a big iPod Touch that is actually less functional than the current iPod Touch. Luckily in the case of the ATV, at least most of the shortcomings can be addressed by firmware.

    Not necessarily.  To say the iPad slipped out of the magnetic cover, would indicate one picked up the iPad by the cover.  The cover isn't permanently attached and would not hold the iPad in place if it was picked up by the cover.  You should certainly make an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar.  Go in and be VERY nice and apologetic.  Above all else, be honest.  If you did accidentaly pick your iPad up by the cover, tell them the truth.  They might take pity on you and offer you a one time replacement.  But, they could also charge you an out of warranty replacement fee.  There is no policy in which you would be guaranteed a free replacement.  Again, nice wins.  Angry loses.  Good luck and I hope it has a nice outcome for you.

    if you by AUX mean composite or component then likely not as they would not be able to support a high enough resolution to do any type of airplay mirror

    I was able to take time off from work this year, and spend it at the CES 2013 with Verizon in Las Vegas. The things that I was able to see opened my eyes to the future of video entertainment. As a Verizon customer and a Community Leader, I am very pleased with the way the industry is headed, and happy Verizon is leading the way in entertainment. Yes I am a big FiOS Fan! From the time I was first connected with fiber optics, I believe in 2006 with 15/5 speeds, and now Quantum speeds, I have been a happy customer. When the FiOS HD TV service was available in my area, I purchased my first 46” LCD TV. Can’t have FiOS quality on a 36 picture tube! Well you can, I just don’t believe it would look its best.
    View the videos on the Verizon News Website. These provide a good overview of the way Verizon provides, and will provide entertainment to their customers.
    Watch the video with Nicole Omo, who was showing Verizon devices and talks about items at the CES. Yes I was there and she was the first one I ran into when I darted off to see the new FiOS Media server as soon as I arrived at the show in the Verizon area.

My day one at CES is when she talks about yesterday that refers to the opening day. Tonight I was out looking at smart BluRay players, as my 46” Samsung is a bit older.

    The first day of course was Tue. 1/8/13 I wanted to see everything, but was able to see the start of the show. What I really went for was the Verizon area with the VMS, and it doesn't do it justice to call it a booth. I sat and listened to panel discussions of industry experts. Then of course the Keynote Address from the Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam. FiOS!

    Day two on Wed. 1/9/13 there was more time at the Verizon area and getting to see all the cool stuff. I was always attracted back to the Entertainment Area, with the new Media Server. Of course there was a chance to meet with various Verizon staff. To put this show together you know there were key people that were at the show. It is not every day you get to meet with the people you see on the websites. Putting the names and faces together with the people was really nice. Though they were all very busy with the media and the press, they managed to find the time to meet with customers like myself. I walked the entire South Hall top and bottom of the LVCC which seems like 2-3 football fields.
    Everyone is talking and writing about the new FiOS TV platform. Six tuners pause and resume in any room! These are just a few of many articles. The VMS is buzzing, but what I heard was whisper quite, that is when it was running, with the exception of the excellent audio.

    On my third day of the CES it was time to head off to the Central Hall to some TV vendor areas where I could see the types of Smart TVs and devices that would take advantage of the entertainment services the new Verizon hardware and streaming features can provide. What you have should work just fine if you are a FiOS customer. Or even if you are not. I could not pass up the chance to see all the new stuff for TVs. Curved screens,  10K TV. Etc.  At home we have an Xbox with the 75 channels streaming over the Internet, but the Smart TVs are really amazing. If you do not have a smart TV, you may wish to make your TV smart with the use of an LG or perhaps Samsung BluRay player. For streaming to a portable device I do not have an Ipad, but do have an Iphone. It is amazing what Redbox Instant by Verizon can do, even on an Iphone. Redbox Instant by Verizon will be available to the public soon after testing. After walking what seemed to be miles, I was back at the Verizon space for some additional video that was being done.
    Day four was finishing up for the trip home and winding down. The flight home from Las Vegas to Baltimore Washington International seemed like it was going to be a longer trip than the one out to the show. I did have one stop in Denver that held me there for a while because of snow, but I did manage to get on the Verizon Community Forums from 41,000ft in the sky, and may have even made a few posts.

    Another item I should mention. The photos in my previous post were taken with a phone. So if some are blurred, that is certainly not the way the TV picture looked. So excuse my poor photography.

  • HP Color LaserJet CP1520nw will not connect to network (time out repeatedly)

    My HP LaserJet CP1520nw won't connet to my wireless router upon installation, no many how many times I've been asked to connect it to the computer via a USB printer cable.   I uninstalled and reinstalled all software, and each time I try to set it up for wireless connectivity by connecting my computer and the printer via a USB printer cable, it gets to 99%  installed on the progress bar and sits there until it times out.  I suspect one of the follow but am open to other ideas from those more knowledgeable:
    1.  Is the printer locked onto some old, initial configuration from a previous wireless network that needs to be purged of addresses, etc. before it can accept the new ones?
    2.  Could my WPA WPA2 PSK AES encrytion be messing it up?  Are the modern firmware and updates designed to accept these ?  I never have gotten to a screen where it asks for my encyption key or even a WPS pass phrase.  What to do if so?
    3.  Could Church Lady be correct and that it is Satan preventing the installation?  If so, what icons does he use to watch out for and will my Norton anti-virus and malware quarantine him to Hell automatically or does it require manual enforcement?

    I noticed that your HP Color LaserJet CP1520nw will not connect to network with Windows 7. I am sorry to hear this, but happy to help!
    First to answer your questions:
    It is possible the printer could be locked to an old configuration and needs to be reset.
    I don't think your WPA WPA2 PSK AES encrytion could be messing it up, unless you got some really strange characters in your password.
    Your Norton antivirus, could possible be causing the installation to fail.
    Please take a look through the following guides:

    Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection.
    If the guides do not resolve the issue, please try the following:
    Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
    Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
    Disable any antivirus programs. Disable antivirus software.
    Disable any firewall programs. Turn Windows Firewall on or off.
    Re-install the software. HP LaserJet Full Feature Software and Driver.
